The date was November 6th, 1983 Hawkins Indiana.
The 5 were sitting at the table y/n, had her h/c hair (how ever you want) she had (whatever outfit you want), she laughed with the boys.
Y/n pov:
The laughing stopped.
"Somethings coming." Mike started, leaning over his plans on the table behind a board, "Something hungry for blood. A shadow grows on the wall behind you, swallowing you in the darkness. It is almost here."
"What is it" Will asks on the edge of his seat.
"What if it's the Demogorgon?" Dustin asks putting a hand on his face. "Oh Jesus we're so screwed if it's the Demogorgon."
"It's not the demogorgan" I said on the edge of my seat like Will.
I handed a piece of what I was eating to him.
He took it and looked from her hand back to the table smiling.
"An army of troglodytes charge into the chamber!" Mike yells slamming the figures on the board, I raised a hand and dropped it quickly as if saying I told you so.
"Troglodytes?" Dustin says.
"She told ya." Lucas said while y/n chuckled lightly.
"Wait a minute." Mike says.
"What" y/n said confused.
"Did you hear that? That...that sound. Boom...boom...BOOM." He yells as he slams the table.
"That didn't come from troglodytes. No, that...That came from something else." Mike said.
"Yeah no shit it didn't come from them" I says. Everyone looked at each other, I looked wide eyed thinking oh shit what if he's right
"The Demogorgon!" Mike yells slamming another figure on the game board.
"Aw shit" I said handing Dustin a dollar.
It was apart of our bet we started a year ago, that said that everytime the other gets something wrong after getting high and mighty they have to pay $1.
The rest of the boys groaned. "We're in deep shit." Dustin says.
"Will your action!" Mike yells.
"I don't know!" Will quickly replied looking at the other three.
"Fire ball him!" Lucas says anxiously.
"I'd have to roll a 13 or higher!" Will argues back.
"Too risky cast a protection spell." Dustin states.
"Don't be a pussy. Fire ball him!" Lucas says.
"Cast protection." Dustin says sternly.
"The Demogorgon is tired of your silly human bickering!" Mike yells again.
"Well you need to do something!" I said.
"It stomps toward you. BOOM!" Mike yells once more.
"Fire ball him!" Lucas encouraged.
"Another stomp, boom!" Mike said.
"Cast protection." Dustin said once more.
"He roars in anger!" Mike yelled.
They started talking over one another until Will rolled the dice "Fire ball!"
But the dice rolled off the table.
"Where did it go?" Lucas said as they all got on their hands and knees looking for the dice, but Dustin who was pacing and repeating "Oh my god".
Then Mike's mom started calling Mike from upstairs. "We're in the middle of a campain!" Mike talked back.
"You mean the end, 15 after." Karen said pointing to her watch.
Mike went upstairs while the rest were arguing, "Oh I got it!" Will said picking up the dice. "Does a 7 count?"
"It was a 7?" Lucas asked. "Did Mike see it?"
Will shook his head.
"Then it doesn't count."
"Yo hey guys, does anyone want this?" Dustin asked holding up a pizza.
Everyone shook their heads as the two continued up the steeps.
And Dustin followed her upstairs, to Nancy's room to ask her, she waited on the steps for him because they rode home together every night.
Nancy slammed the door in Dustin's face.
"What was that all about?" I asked.
Dustin shrugged, "Probably her new boyfriend or something."
I grabbed my bike and started pedaling towards my house, Will caught up with us.
"Race you back to my place? Winner gets a comic." Dustin challenged.
"Any comic?" Will asked with a smile on his face.
"Yeah" Dustin said, nodding.
Will started pedaling ahead while Dustin screamed "hey, hey I DIDNT SAY GO. GET BACK HERE. IM GONNA KILL YOU"
"ILL TAKE YOUR X-MAN 134" Will yelled back at them.
Dustin stopped breathing hard, "son of a bitch."
I stopped as well and looked at him "outta breath already?" And laughed.
"Why didn't you join in the race?"
"Oh please we all know that I have a copy of all your comics that you own plus more." As they started to pedal again. "See you at school." She waved and stopped at her house next to Dustin's.

They put their bikes in the bike rack. "That's weird, I don't see him." Mike said.
"No shit Sherlock." I said, lutting mine in the rack next to theirs.
"I'm telling you, his mom's right." Lucas started. "He probably just went to class early again."
"Yeah he's always paranoid Gursky's gonna give him another pop quiz."
The walk to the building was quiet exept for the occasional conversation, until we heard a voice we had all come to dread.
"Step right up ladies and gentleman. Step right up and get your tickets for the freak show. Who do you think would make more money in a freak show?" Troy said walking up to us.
"Midnight" He said punching Lucas,"Frogface" he said as he punched Mike, "Bookworm", he said punching me, "or toothless."
James put a finger to his mouth like he was thinking before he pointed at Dustin, "I think I'm gonna go with toothless." He said mocking Dustin's lisp.
"I told you a million times my teeth are coming in. It's called cleidocraial dysplasia." Dustin said a little annoyed.
"I told you a million times." James said mocking him again.
Troy scoffed, "do the arm thing"
Dustin dropped his backpack, and cracked his arms in a weird way, due to him having no collar bones the 2 boys gagged and hit Mike and y/n in their shoulders on their way out.
"Assholes" Lucas said.
"I think it kinda cool." Mike starts "it's like you have super powers or something."
"If only cracking his bones would make the villains bones break." Y/n said then make her hands into balls and mimicked someone's bones breaking. (Edit: I SWEAR I HAD NO IDEA I PROMISE)
They all laughed and walked to their classes.

3rd person pov:
"And remember, finish chapter 12 and answer 1,2, and 3 on the difference between an experiment and other forms of science investigation. This will be on the test, which will cover chapters 10 through 12. It will be multiple choice with with an essay section." Mr. Clark said trailing off.
The 4 stood in front of the desk all with grins on their faces. "So did it come?" Mike asked smiling.
"Sorry guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but... it came."
They burst through the room running to the machine. "The Heathkit ham shack. Ain't she a beaut?" Mr. Clark said as he watched the kids start to mess with the machine.
"I bet you can talk to new York on this thing." Dustin said flipping a switch.
"Think bigger."
"California?" Lucas said looking over.
"Bigger"
"Russia?" Y/n asked, taking the headphones.
"Even Bigger"
"Australia?!" Mike said taking the head phones and putting them on.
Mr Clark nodded his head smiling at the happy kids faces.
"When will sees this he's totally gonna blow his shit!" Lucas said
"Lucas, language."
"Yeah Lucas he's right you should use your language. Observe, cuando Will ve esto, va a volar su el caca." Y/n repeated in Spanish with a smirk on her face. (Idk a bunch of Spanish but I used Google translate so idk if I got it wrong)
Mr. Clark stood there with a puzzled look on his face while the rest laughed.
Mike turned some knobs then said in an Australian accent "hello this is Mike Wheeler, president of Hawkins Middle AV Club."
Dustin took the head set and spoke into the mic, "Hello this is Dustin, and this is the secretary of Hawkins Middle AV Club, do you eat kangaroos for breakfast?" Also in an Australian accent.
Y/n took the headphones out of Dustin's hands only for their hands to touch, he felt his face go hot before he shook away the thought and watched his friend put on the head phones.
Y/n took the head phones put them, "hello this is y/n and treasurer of Hawkins Middle AV Club, what was the biggest spider you've seen in your part of town?" Also in a horrible accent.
Lucas took the headphones only to drop them in Dustin's hands as the principal walked over and knocked on the door with Hopper,"Sorry to interrupt but may I borrow Dustin, Lucas, (full first name if you go by nick name), and Michael?"

Y/n pov:
We went in the office, finding the police chief, Hopper, and two deputies.
We started talking over each other until Hopper said "Okay, okay, okay, one at a time, all right? You." Pointed to Mike "you said he takes what?"
"Merkwood" Mike answered.
"Merkwood?" Hopper repeated.
"Yeah"
"Have you ever heard of Merkwood?" Hopper asked the other cop.
"I have not it sounds made up to me."
"No its from Lord of the rings." Lucas said.
"Well the Hobbit." Dustin corrected.
"It doesn't matter." Lucas said.
"He asked." Dustin said
"He AsKeD" Lucas said mockingly.
"Shut up both of you!" I scolded. They both quieted down.
"Ok one at a damn time." Hopper lectured. "You" He pointed to Mike to finish
"Merkwood, it's a real road its just the name that's made up. It's where Cornwallis and Kerley meet. We can show you if you want."
"I said that I know it." Hopper said more clearly.
"We can help look." I suggested.
"No" Hopper said.
We talked over each other again in protest.
"No, after school you are all to go home." Hopper said "Immediately. That means no biking around looking for your friend, no investigating, no nonsense. This isn't some Lord of the Rings book."
"The Hobbit." Dustin corrected. I elbowed him in the arm.
"Do I make myself clear?" Hopper said and walked over to them. "Do I make myself...clear"
We all nodded.

"Y/n. Y/n are you there over." Lucas's voice came on the radio.
I put a bookmark in my book, grabbed my walkie and answered "Yeah I'm here, over"
"Hey meet me at Mike's house in 10 and bring Dustin. Over and out."
"Got it see you then, over and out." I switched to Dustin's channel and called his name. "Dustin, Dustin are you there, over." After a few seconds Dustin's voice came on.
"I'm here over."
"Meet me outside asap over and out." I grabbed my backpack put my walkie and flashlight in. I grabbed my raincoat on my desck chair and went outside to grab my bike.
I waited for about 3 minutes before I saw Dustin come out of his garage, I waved, earning a wave and a smile back.

"Oh man, this is it." Lucas said. Thunder rumbled in the distance.
We put out bikes up and walked past the road block to the forest.
"Hey guys, you feel that?" Dustin asked and put his hand up to feel rain. "I think maybe we should go back."
"No. We aren't going back. Just stay close." Mike told Dustin. "Come on. Just stay on channel 6, and don't do anything stupid."
"He's talking to you Lucas." I said Lucas looking over to a finger wagging in his face. "Yeah you, the one with the hero complex."
Lucas rolled his eyes before following her and Mike.
"Hey guys wait up!" Dustin said parking his bike. "Wait up."
I waited and started to walk once Dustin caught up.

I shivered in the cold, wrapping my free arm around my torso and holding her flashlight a little higher.
"Will!" Mike tried to be loud over the thunder
"Byers!" Lucas tried to yell as well.
"Will! Are you there?!" I tried to yell through the rain and thunder.
"I've got your X-Man 134!" Dustin yelled.
"Guys I really think we should turn back." Dustin said.
"Seriously Dustin?" Lucas said back.
"You wanna be a baby then go home already!"
"I'm just being realistic Lucas!" Dustin yelled.
"No you're just being a big sissy!" Lucas snapped back.
"Do you ever think Will went missing because he ran into something bad? And we're going to the exact same spot where he was last seen?" Dustin wondered out loud."And we have no weapons or anything?"
"Wait Dustin shut up." I said, looking around.
"I'm just saying, does that seem smart to you?"
"Shut up, shut up I think I hear something." Sure enough there were some leaves rustling in the distance. Dustin yelped and jumped into my arms.
I felt my face go warm at the sudden contact, it had been like that for about a year and I had no idea why. All I knew is that it only happened with him.
Mikes words brought me back to reality, "I hear it now."
More leaves rustled.
We turned and pointed our flashlights to a shaved headed girl, with a oversized burger shop shirt on, dripping wet like a dog in the rain.
