"Hey there Min Jun!" Jimin cooed, his arms wrapped tightly around the little boy, "Are you excited to play today!?"

You smiled to yourself as you walked over to put Min Jun's toddler bag down on a chair.

Min Jun was mumbling something to Jimin that you couldn't quite hear, but as soon as you went to ask you had your answer.

The little devil squirmed out of Jimin's arms and darted for the ball pit.

You shook your head at him.

"Hey Y/N," Jimin said, his eyes squinting as he smiled, the same look you saw every day in your son.

Your heart clenched.

"Ready for the most exhausting day of your life?" You joked, walking over to stand beside him, eyes trained on the little ball of energy diving in and out of the multicoloured plastic balls.

Jimin laughed, "I think training may have gotten me in shape for this. Idol life has to be good for something, right?"

You could have sworn he almost sounded sad, but you shook off that thought almost as soon as it hit you.

Before you could say another word, Jimin was launching himself into the ball pit with Min Jun, earning himself a banshee scream from the little monster.

"Mochi, play nice okay!" You called, hoping that he would be a good boy and not end the day screaming like he tended to do recently.

"Okay!" Jimin and Min Jun both called back to you.

You burst into laughter, Jimin going beat red as he noticed you weren't addressing him but was actually addressing the four-year-old in the room.

Taking a seat on one of the animal-themed chairs, you took off your jacket and relaxed, opting to watch instead of participate. After all, this was a day meant for the two boys to bond, and you didn't want to put yourself in the middle if you didn't have to. Min Jun was a notorious mamma's boy and you didn't want him clinging to your leg instead of enjoying his time with Jimin.

About forty minutes went by, seemingly endless laughter echoing across the café of the two boys who were somewhere inside the giant playground.

The sound was music to your ears, you couldn't wipe the permanent smile that had plastered itself on your face even if you tried.

You had gone up to the one staff member in sight to order a few bottles of water, but beyond that, you hadn't explored much of the area.

Curiosity got the better of you and you started to pace around the outside of the playground, vying for a look at what Min Jun was getting up to.

You spotted them through one of the plastic windows near the top of the playground, your son immediately waving at you to come up, Jimin behind him with a smile on his face. They looked so much alike in that moment you could have sworn Min Jun was a clone of the idol, instead of half of you.

You shook your head at them, hoping it was enough to get you out of having to crawl through the tunnels.

"Come on Y/N!," Jimin called, barely audible from behind the barrier.

"Not a chance!" You called back with a laugh, the idea of being in the germ-infested tunnels of a child's playground was enough to convince you the ground was a better idea.

"Mommy come!!!" Min Jun screamed, making Jimin cover his ears from how loud he must have been yelling.

"Mommy is going to stay down here, Little Mochi!" You yelled back.

Min Jun frowned at you instantly, turning to say something to Jimin.

You watched with curiosity as Jimin furrowed his brows in concentration, listening intently to what the little boy was telling him.

As soon as Min Jun finished talking, Jimin crawled closer to the window and cupped his hands around his mouth to help carry the sound of his voice.

"Mini says he won't come down unless you come up," He shouted, shrugging his shoulders and turning away from the window.

Mini?

You sighed, rubbing at your forehead in frustration.

Did you not say something like this would happen?

Deciding to give in, hoping to avoid a temper tantrum if you refused, you rolled up your sleeves and started for the nearest entrance.

It took you a bit, to navigate your way through the tunnels and obstacles, squeezing through the small passages and crawling up the narrow stairs. It seemed like a labyrinth once you were inside.

When you finally reached the window you saw them from they were gone, the only evidence they were even there in the first place being the dangle Chrome Hearts earring laying on the foam floor.

You grabbed it, knowing exactly who's ear this came off of.

"Min Jun!?" You called out.

A squeal nearby grabbed your attention, followed by shushing noises.

You crawled towards the little open space next to the one you were in, turning the corner just as Min Jun jumped out to tackle you.

"Ah! Min Jun! Ouch!" You groaned, a laugh escaping your lips the second you laid eyes on his manically smiling face.

"Boo!" He yelled, a little late but adorably nonetheless.

"It was his idea, I swear!" Jimin said, raising his hands in defence.

"Was it your idea to scare Mommy?" You asked Min Jun, pinching his chubby cheek.

The little boy nodded his head, laughing loudly before launching himself at you again.

You wrapped your arms around him and tickled his back, making him immediately try to squirm away from you.

"No mommy, no!" He laughed, kicking his legs wildly, "Help help!"

"I've got you!" Jimin yelled from beside you, hands grabbing the back of Min Jun to snatch the little boy from your arms.

He held Min Jun to his chest and held his hands out like he was going to try and bat you away if you stepped too close.

"I'm going to get you," You grumbled in your most monster-like voice, fighting the urge to smile and break character.

"NO!!!" Min Jun screamed, before tucking himself behind Jimin.

"The monster can't get you Mini, I'll save you!" Jimin laughed, stepping to cover Min Jun with his body like a shield.

You launched to the side, trying to get a swing at the little boy, hoping to be able to pinch at his side playfully.

But Jimin was quick, throwing himself in front of you before you could reach him.

"Get the monster!" Min Jun demanded, laughing hysterically when you growled at him.

"Run for the slide! I'll hold her off!" He replied, using himself as a shield so Min Jun could run to the slide's entrance.

You crawled towards the opening, pushing Jimin out of the way when he reached to stop you, laughing so hard you nearly collapsed right there and then.

"Yah! Let go!!" You yelled, smiling maniacally as you tried to kick Jimin's grip on your ankle off.

"No way! I can't let the monster get Mini!" Jimin yelled up at you, his smile mimicking the intensity of yours.

You pulled yourself to the slide, barely aware of how much Jimin had caught up to you when you started to slide downwards.

It wasn't until the pink mop of hair crowded your vision that you even realized that he was right beside you, a failed attempt to get ahead of you inside the slide.

Before you could react, you both started to slow, the wrestling commencing as you slid to a stop about halfway down.

"Oh shit," You laughed under your breath, panting slightly from the exertion.

"Oops," Jimin echoed.

It was only at that moment you realized how close you two were.

A blush crept its way onto your cheeks in response.

His body was quite literally pressed up against yours, the narrowness of the tunnel only dawning on you now that you realized you couldn't back up away from him.

"I-uh- I think we might be stuck," You said dumbly, trying to avoid looking Jimin in the face.

You heard a happy squeal from the bottom of the slide followed by the pattering of running feet.

"Mini seems to think this is a win for him," Jimin chuckled, his chest rumbled against yours with his laughter.

"Mini?" You asked aloud, not able to slap your hand over your mouth with the awkward way you were stuck.

Jimin looked at you with a slight blush on his face, "Mini, as in mini-me... I just thought it was cute"

You smiled, "I like it"

You could have cut the tension between you both with a knife, the proximity and the warmth that radiated off Jimin making you reluctantly hope that you were stuck like this for a while.

His eyes were on yours and he didn't even try to say another word, it was so quiet you could almost hear the sound of your own heart trying to beat itself out of your chest.

Unable to physically tear your gaze away from his, you attempted to talk yourself into moving.

Putting a hand against the slide behind Jimin, you tried to push yourself ahead of him, accidentally sliding up against him once you were able to get a proper grip.

You grit your teeth together at the sensation of his body against yours, mind flashing back to things you had thought you trained yourself to forget.

"Sorry," You muttered awkwardly, pushing your back against the slide so hard you were sure that there would be bruises left behind.

"My fault, the slide isn't meant for adults," He said shakily, his hands splayed out to the sides in every attempt at not touching you.

It was awkward and strange and both of you were trying to get out of the situation as quickly and simply as possible.

As soon as your torso was free from being pushed up against the boy you were able to slide the rest of the way down the slide, hands meeting the mat at the end.

You got to your feet as quickly as you could, moving out of the way for Jimin to follow behind.

"Mommy!" Min Jun yelled, running head-first into your legs and knocking you back onto the ground.

"Ah! Min Jun!" You half-scolded, trying to peel the little boy off of you so you could regain your footing.

"Anyone hungry?"

Jimin's voice thankfully interrupting Min Jun's determination at keeping his arms wrapped permanently around your knees.

The next hour flew by as you sat and watched Min Jun and Jimin scarf down every bit of food brought out by the cafe staff.

You were sure it was the entirety of their menu since the table was now filled with pizzas, hamburger steaks, chicken legs, bowls of rice, and nearly every side dish you could imagine.

Min Jun had the remnants of a bowl of kimchi he knocked over all down his shirt, which Jimin was now attempting to clean up all the while trying to dodge the flailing pizza-sauce-covered toddler hands.

You laughed when he got himself smacked in the head, pizza sauce covering not only his face but the ends of his hair as well.

Min Jun went back to eating right away, not bothered one bit at the mess he just made.

"Tell me I don't look more handsome this way," He teased with a smile in your direction, grabbing a napkin and trying to clean himself up.

He wasn't even close to getting it out of his hair, so you stood up and stalked over to him, taking one of the wet wipes out of your purse.

"Here, let me," You offered, although not giving him much of a choice as you hooked a finger under his chin and moved his face towards yours.

You carefully removed the sauce from his pink hair before wiping at the missed portion on his cheek, turning his head back and forth to double check before letting him go.

"There!" You announced triumphantly, your skills at taking care of a toddler coming in handy for more than just your son.

"Thanks," Jimin chuckled, throwing the napkin he had been using onto the table in front of him.

"Oh! That reminds me, I found your earring in the playground," You said, taking the small piece of jewellery out of your pocket and placing it into his open palm.

You turned to wipe Min Jun's face, using about 4 or 5 wet wipes before he was even remotely clean again.

"Shoot," Jimin grumbled from beside you, making you turn your head to find out what the problem was.

He was hunched over, earring in hand and the other trying to steady himself enough to put it through the hole in his ear.

Dear God, do you have to mother everyone?

You tutted, discarding the dirty wet wipes and walking back over to Jimin, holding out your hand to him.

He paused, looking at you with confusion only briefly before handing over the jewellery.

You sat down on the bench beside him, using your index finger to turn his head to the side.

Your breath caught in your throat as he leaned closer, his hand resting on the bench and grazing your thigh softly.

It was unintentional, but it made your stomach flutter regardless.

You gulped, suddenly very nervous, before gently placing your hand on the side of his ear and putting the earring back where it belonged.

"There," You breathed out, not moving away or dropping your hands.

What the hell am I doing...

You watched as he swallowed, his Adam's apple bobbing in his throat before his face turned ever so faintly so he could catch your eyes with his.

"Thanks," He breathed back.

You could have sworn you were about to have a moment when a piece of discarded chicken bounced off the back of Jimin's head.

"Yah!" Jimin barked, flipping in his seat to meet the face of the culprit.

Min Jun practically cackled with laughter as Jimin fully turned to start tickling the boy.

"Hey! Watch it, you're going to make him throw up!" You laughed, standing up on shaky legs to go back to your spot at the table.

You tried to put the moment out of your mind the rest of the time you spent at the cafe, which turned out to be only another hour or so.

Jimin and Min Jun played with the blocks on the far side of the cafe until the little boy in question could barely keep his eyes open. But gosh was he fighting to stay awake, not one to miss a moment of action.

When you noticed how tired he was getting you went to packing up your things, turning just in time to see Jimin carrying him towards you.

Min Jun was cradled in his arms already sound asleep from the short walk to where you were waiting.

"He'll sleep good tonight," You commented, reaching for him.

Jimin reluctantly handed him over to you, a pout forming on his lips when he was fully out of his arms.

"We'll plan something again soon?" He asked as he walked with you towards the front door.

"Absolutely," You whispered with a smile, trying to keep Min Jun asleep.

Jimin reached over to brush a hand over Min Jun's chubby cheek, smiling sadly before whispering his goodbyes.

You smiled at him one last time before slipping out the front door and into the waiting car.

The street lights were on, although the sun hadn't quite set. It was only now that you noticed how much more time you spent there than you originally thought you were going to.

Min Jun was snoring softly in his car seat beside you, giving you ample time to stare out the window with that smile you'd been wearing all day still plastered on your face.
