THE COMMUNICATION

don't you worry what their bitter hearts are gonna say
⸺THEY went along with what Mike had said. They were going to reconfigure the shed into a place where Will would never be able to recognize. They had talked to Tiffany in advance to see if she knew anything about the Mind Flayer, but she honestly didn't. Tiffany and Steve were in the shed and they were putting up tarp. Tiffany was right by the door and Steve was by the wall. Nancy came in with duck tape and walked over to Steve. She didn't see Tiffany. "Hey."
Steve gave a half look to her. "What you did, um, helping the kids...that was...really cool."
"Yeah. Those little shits are real trouble, you know?"
"Believe me, I know." They were silent for a few more seconds and Nancy was still unaware that Tiffany was in the room.
"Hey, I know that you like T-" Steve cleared his voice to cut her off and he nodded his head towards Tiffany. Nancy looked over and saw Tiffany. "Oh, hey Tiff."
Tiffany looked back and smiled.
"Steve." Steve looked back at her and Tiffany had her hand out. He handed her the staple gun and Tiffany started stapling the tarp down. She winced and grabbed her arm. Nancy figured it was from her flying onto the ground. "Hey, is your arm okay?"
"Y-"
"No." Tiffany rolled her eyes at Steve. "It's fine."
"No, it isn't."
"Yes, it is."
"No, it isn't"
"Yes, it is! Yes, it is! Yes, it is!" Tiffany plugged her ears like a child. Steve got off the stool he was standing on and pulled her hands off of her ears. "You need to rest."
"That's what you said before and-"
"And you did and you pulled Demogorgons towards you and took control of their minds." Nancy then stepped in. "I'm sorry, you controlled their minds?"
"I don't control their mind, Steven. I just know how to talk to them."
"You talk to Demogorgons?"
"Yes. I told one in the lab to come to me and and it did. I'm a Demogorgon whisperer." Steve rolled his eyes. "Tiff, can you please not make jokes for once and just take something seriously?"
"Alright, fine."
"Now please, rest so you don't hurt yourself more."
"Steve-"
"For me." Tiffany sighed and handed Steve the staple gun. She was about to leave the shed, but she turned around. "I hope you know, I'm not doing this for you, I'm doing this for my safety."
Steve smirked and she hated it. "Don't smile, I'm not doing this for you."
Steve's smirk grew even bigger. "Okay, that's annoying, so I'm going to go and rest, but it's not because of you."
Tiffany walked outside the shed and yelled back at him. "I'm not doing this for you!"
Steve laughed a little. He went back to putting the tarp on the walls of the shed. Nancy gave him a knowing look. "What?"
"You like her."
"I mean, she's cool, but I don't want to ask her out or anything."
"You do, Steve. I know you do, just do it. I've known her a while and I've never seen her that comfortable around somebody. She likes you too." Steve considered what Nancy was telling him. "Are you sure?"
"I'm positive." Steve nodded. "I'd do it sooner than later. I mean, this is some really dangerous stuff."
"What are you saying, she might die?"
"Well, she's the only one who can really kill them, she's connected to a shadow monster, I mean, it's amazing she's still alive." Steve nodded again. He did like Tiffany. He hadn't admitted it to himself yet, but he liked her. He really liked her. As soon as Steve had time, he was going to tell her. Tiffany walked into the house and sat down on the couch. Cory saw her and sat down beside her. "What are you doing inside?"
"Steve kicked me out to rest my arm."
"What happened to your arm?"
"Well, I sort of spazzed out. I started twitching and like seizing up and I felt really cold, but I liked it. It was really weird. I was sore from it and my arm was the only thing still sore after a while. Then, you were there when I sort of wiped out at the lab." Cory laughed. "That is probably the most interesting injury I've ever heard."
Tiffany smiled and Cory returned it. "Hey, I don't really know what you know about the Upside Down, but I was thinking that maybe I could pull the Mind Flayer out of Will instead of Will trying to get out."
"That might work actually. I don't know a lot about the Upside Down, but I do know enough to support that idea. We can probably keep that as a last resort." Tiffany nodded, showing she understood. Hopper then came into the living room. Cory knew he wasn't really welcomed in there so he stayed on the couch, but Tiffany was about to walk out too, but Hopper stopped her. "What?"
"I need you two outside until we call you in."
"What?! That kid means every thing to me and you just want me to sit inside like I barely know him. I can get through to him-"
"No, no, Tiffany you misunderstood. I need you and this new guy to wait just outside the shed so if he does call those dogs, you can talk to them and turn them around and I know he does weird mind shit, so he could probably help too. That Harrington kid told me you can speak to them or at least tame them, so we need you two to be like guard dogs. If we need you, we will call you in." Tiffany nodded. She thought he wanted her to just stay inside because he didn't trust her.
The three of them walked out to the shed. They tied him up and Tiffany and Cory waited outside. They could hear Will screaming, "let me go" and she hated it. They waited outside for a few minutes until Hopper opened the tarp that was the shed door. "Tiffany."
Tiffany walked inside the shed and Cory waited outside. She sat down on the chair across from Will.
"Do you know me?" Will nodded with a blank face. "Which one of you is answering me?"
"Both."
"What's my name?"
"Tiffany Delilah Henderson." Everyone was curious with what she was doing. Everyone was bringing up good memories to see if it would make him happy, but she was taking a different approach. Tiffany stood up from the chair and put her hand on Will's forehead. He started shaking a bit. Will looked like he was in a lot of pain. He started screaming for someone to help him and Jonathan was about to. Joyce held him back because she knew what she was trying to do.
Black smoke started coming out of his eyes and her eyes started bleeding. Everyone tried to step forward to pull her off of him, but Joyce got them to stop. "No wait! Just let her do it!"
Tiffany put her hand on her other hand. It was taking a lot of power to try and pull the shadow monster out of him. Her eyes even started bleeding. The smoke started retracting back in his eyes and she lost her focus. Tiffany took her hands off his forehead and turned around to look at Joyce.
"I tried."
"It's alright." Will looked back up at her and gave her a sinister smirk. "Oh, you little-"
Tiffany flinched forward and Will flinched. The shadow monster tried to taunt her, but at the same time, it was scared of her. She walked back out and stood by the door again, ready to get rid of Demodogs. After a while, Her and Cory saw Hopper come rushing out of the shed. They followed him into the house. Hopper grabbed a random piece of paper and sat down at the table with the kids. "What happened?"
"I think he's talking, just not with words." Hopper started writing dots and lines. "What is that?"
"Morse code." Hopper wrote out on the paper H E R E. "Here. Will's still in there. He's talking to us."
"Tiffany, you know morse code right?" Tiffany shook her head a little nervously "Only a little bit."
Cory then spoke up. "I know it." Hopper went back out to the shed. They gave Cory a piece of cardboard and crayon. They connected the radios and they brought up more memories for Will. He kept using morse code. Hopper would signal what the code was and Lucas would say what it was. "Dash, dot, dash, dot."
"C." They kept going.
"L O." They started talking about Dungeons and Dragons.
"S." Joyce started talking about him when he was little.
"E G A." Joyce started talking about how much she loved him. "T E."
"Close gate." The phone then rang and Dustin and Nancy ran over to it. Dustin hung up the phone. "Shit! Shit!"
"Do you think he heard that?"
"It's just a phone. It could be anywhere. Right?" The phone then rang again and Nancy ripped the phone out of the wall and threw it on the floor. Tiffany started hearing echoing from Demogorgons. "Oh crap."
"What? What is it?"
"He knows where we are."
