Meanwhile In Phayor
Zac, and Alvin were talking over if a law was just or not.
"UGH, how has Lars not died of stress yet," Alvin said as he pulled at his hair.
"I know, but let's think like Lars for a moment, what would he do about this Law?" Zac said, trying to keep Alvin calm. Alvin swiveled around once he heard footsteps enter the room and so did Zac.
"Apologies for the interruption, but I have an urgent message from Steelville," A servant announced as he entered the meeting room. A nervous look was on his face and he fidgeted with the papers in his hand.
"Oh? What is it?" Zac asked calmly.
"A lone mage attacked Steelville. He was able to kill the emperor and turn the city's defenses against it. The city is almost destroyed, casualties are high, and the messenger warned that the mage is after the sacred stones," the servant spoke hastily.
"Oh wow," Alvin gulped as he tried to hide his panic.
"Okay! Send humanitarian aid, make sure some of our best mages are with them to attempt to drain the weaponry. Make sure our defences are fortified and ready for an oncoming attack, that includes Airroad," Zac spoke in a commanding voice as he bolted out of his chair.
"Yes Sir," the servant answered as he left to fulfill his orders.
"Alvin," Zac said in a serious tone as he turned around to face Alvin, who was starting to shake.
"Yeah," Alvin replied, anxiously gulping and slowly getting up from his seat.
"Come with me, we have to destroy everything in Raymond's lab quick,"
"Wait, why?" Alvin asked confused.
"Raymond was working on some more prototypes for his powerplant. I don't know if they could fulfill the mage's wants but it's better to be safe than sorry," Zac told Alvin as he began walking out the door.
"Okay let's do it!" Alvin said anxiously as he sprang up from his chair. Zac and Alvin spirited down the halls, not caring if they ran into anyone or not.
"Alvin babe, what's going on?" Felix asked as he saw Alvin and Zac run frantically down the hall towards him.
"Can't... talk... gotta do stuff!" Alvin panted as he and Zac ran past Felix.
"Oh uh okay," Felix said as he watched the two speed past him.
In the Lab
"Okay what are we destroying?" Alvin asked as he leaned against the door frame to catch his breath.
"I don't know everything," Zac confirmed nervously as he began looking around the lab for anything that could be related to the sacred stones.
"Okay let's take out the important personal stuff then we burn this sucker on the ground," Alvin said as he rolled up his coat sleeves. Zac began frantically looking through papers not finding much of importance, just a few pictures and notes.
"Alright let's get to it," Zac said to Alvin as he reached for his tome.
"Okay," Alvin said as he summoned electricity, and engulfed his hands.
"This looks important," Zac said as he pointed to the case of materials in jars with different labels. Alvin shot electricity at the jars. The electricity caused the powdery materials to react and explode to make a goopy mess in the cabinet. Zac summoned fireballs in his palms and hurled them into a vult like cabinet, its contents began burning. Zac shut the door to keep the fire contained.
"Oh let me try something!" Alvin said excitedly.
"Okay," Zac said as he watched Alvin walk over to Raymond's dying desk plant. Alvin opened his tome to a spell, the page was written with a typewriter and the drawings were inked by a professional. The instructions were about plant manipulation.
"Please don't be too dead," Alvin muttered as he closed his eyes and reached out his left hand. It began to glow green, eventually the plant did. "OH come on you can do it little guy," Alvin grunted as he tightened his eyes closed. The plant began to grow, it quickly out grew it's tiny pot and caused the desk to collapse. Alvin and Zac walked out of the room, and the plant filled up the entire room destroying multiple objects as it filled the space.
"Wow," Zac said, impressed by Alvin's spellcraft.
"Okay wait, what else should we do?" Alvin asked as he wiped the sweat from his forehead, foundation smudged on the back of his hand.
"Um, I guess we can light it on fire...?" Zac suggested as he shrugged his shoulders.
"That could work," Alvin stated.
"Let's do it," Zac smirked as he reached out his right arm. The stone of magic on Zac's engagement ring began glowing purple as Zac summoned a red rune. As the rune finished forming flames began to shoot out and into the lab igniting the overgrown plant. The fire spread to the items in the lab.
"These doors are fire proof right?" Alvin asked as he shut the door to contain the flames.
"I'm pretty sure most of the construction materials are fire resistant. Hey, but you make sure the fire stays contained in this room, and don't extinguish it until everything is burned," Zac said to a servant as they walked down the hallway.
"Alright now what?" Alvin asked as they walked away from Raymond's lab.
"We should send Anya away to Mirador, there she will be safe," Zac said as he entered the conference room.
"I am going where?" Anya asked as she jumped from her seat.
"Mirador," Zac replied as he rubbed his temples from the stress of the situation.
"Why what's happening? And why is everyone running around like crazy? Stop leaving me in the dark damn it!?" Anya nervously yelled. Zac sighed and went to open his mouth, but before he could speak a word Alvin spoke up.
"There is a mysterious mage using dark magic. He has already caused chaos in Steelville, and for an unknown reason he wants the sacred stones. So we, no the whole world, are counting on you to protect the Stone of Dexterity," Alvin spoke in a serious voice. One he never uses as he is never in a position of power.
"Oh wow. That's uh a lot to process," Anya gulped as she sat down and held her head.
"You need to leave now!" Zac said as he got up. "Pack your stuff I'm calling an escort to take you to Miradoor," Zac said as he wiped his tears.
"Okay, what about you two?" Anya asked as she was worried for Zac and Alvin.
"We have to stay here," Alvin answered sadly.
"We must lead the troops in battle. If the worst comes to worst I will be able to get us out of there," Zac said confidently as he hugged Anya.
"Okay please be safe," Anya said in between tears.
"We will be, but you need to start packing," Alvin said as he joined to hug.
"Okay I will," Anya said as she pulled out of the hug tears streaming down her red fur. Anya left the room and walked towards her quarters not knowing if that would be her last time seeing either of them.
Two Hours Later
Anya nervously sat in her room. A suitcase was stuffed full of clothes and other necessities laying on her bed.
"I can't... let them... stay," Anya thought to herself as she held back her tears. Two light knocks on her door brought her back to reality.
"Your highness, are you ready to depart?" A female voice said through the door.
"In a minute Mrs. Blake," Anya answered, getting up. She walked towards her bed, zipped up the suitcase. She picked up the Bow of Loyalty, she ran her fingers down the wooden frame and over the Stone of Dexterity.
"What does this guy want to do to you?" Anya asked herself as she strapped the bow to her back along with the quiver. She grabbed her suitcase and walked out the door.
At The Train Station
Anya sat on a bench, her right leg bouncing up and down.
"Where are they?" Anya thought to herself as she has yet to see Zac or Alvin. A train stopped at the platform, its doors opened, but no one got off.
"Your highness your escort has arrived," A gourd spoke as he walked out from the train station.
"Okay, but can we wait a little longer," Anya asked as she wanted to say goodbye to Zac and Alvin.
"Yes your highness whenever you are ready." Anya reached for the Bow of Loyalty and looked into the light blue stone of dexterity.
"I will protect this stone even if it means I die," Anya thought to herself as she looked into her reflection. Then she saw a flash of light behind her. It was Zac teleporting him and Alvin.
"What took you two so long?" Anya asked as she ran into their arms.
"Sorry we got busy with preparing the defences," Zac said as he hugged Anya.
"Yeah sorry, but at least we are here now," Alvin said smiling.
"Hey where are your guy's bags? You are coming with me right?" Anya asked, worried as she noticed that Alvin and Zac did not bring bags with them.
"Anya..." Zac choked on his words as he began to cry.
"We have to stay here. We promised Lars we would watch over Phayor," Alvin said as he wiped his own tears smudging his eyeliner and eyeshadow.
"Oh," Anya said as she began crying.
"Hey everything's going to be alright. Okay," Zac said as he looked Anya in the eye and hugged her.
"Yeah we won't let this guy get anywhere near Phayor," Alvin said smiling, he looked like a raccoon as his make up was smudged from his tears.
"Okay I guess this is good-bye for now," Anya said as she turned away and walked towards the train.
"Wait," Zac suddenly said, causing Anya to stop walking and turn around to face them.
"Yeah?" Anya asked, confused.
"Take these," Zac said as he handed over his engagement ring, and both his and Alvin's gloves.
"Wait, aren't you going to need these to fight?" Anya asked, confused as Zac placed the items into her arms.
"Well the extra power they provide would be a nice buff, but we can't risk them falling into their hands, even though they are just replicals." Zac explained as he hugged Anya.
"Yeah better to be safe than sorry," Alvin said smiling. He looked a little crazy with the smudged eyeshadow, eyeliner, and mascara.
"Okay? So, please be good and don't cause trouble at Mirador," Zac said with worry.
"Don't worry I will be good," Anya said, escaping Zac's grip on her. She turned around and boarded the train. The train door closed shortly after Anya took her seat. And before she knew it the train departed from the station.
"Do you think we can really win without the artificial sacred stones?" Alvin asked worriedly.
"I don't know. I guess we will find out soon," Zac said grimly. "Come on, we still have a lot of work to do," Zac said as he grabbed Alvin and teleported back to the palace.
