"so, Mr Philips where were you on the eighth of may last year?" Quackity asked standing infront of the defendant, the jurors eyes firm on the both of them as the Judge looked down.
"I uh-"
"Objection! Thats not relevant to my clients case." The defence lawyer stood from his chair looking between Quackity and the judge.
"Your honour, if you will allow me, it is most certainly relevant" Quackity spoke.
"Objection overruled, I'll allow it." The judge glared down between the defendants lawyer and Quackity.
Quackity smiled, turning on his hill back to the defendant. "as asked sir, where were you on the eighth of may last year?"
"uh," Mr Phillips tugged on his tie nervously as he leaned into the mic, "I was at my ex sister in laws house, Jess."
"And why were you there?"
"Gardening?" it sounded more like a question than an answer which immediately caught the attention of the judge as well as the jury
"didn't you sustain an injury to your left knee a week prior, surely gardening must've been rather painful especially so soon." Quackity grabbed some papers off his desk, handing it to the judges hand, It was a medical document showing he had been in hospital for a surgery a week prior to the date stated.
"Well yes but-"
"Did you have any other relations with Jessica Smith? Sexual or intimate relations perhaps?"
"Objection! Once again, Irrelevant to the case!"
"Objection sustained, Mr Hernandez please try remain within evidence already found in the case"
"yes your honour, I'll rephrase" Quackity spoke, holding back a frustrated sigh.
"So whilst you were at Ms Smiths house, you were still married to her sister and our victim Elisa Phillips?"
"Yes, i was, I don't see ho-"
"Was your wife aware that you were there?"
"Of course, why wouldn't she-?"
"How comes your secretary has logs of your wife calling into your office twelve times on the eighth of may twenty-twenty five between six pm and eleven pm asking where you were and when you'd be home-"
"objection!" The defendants lawyer yelled, standing out of his seat.
"Objection overruled, continue Mr Hernandez"
"Thank you your honour," Quackity paused, "So what was it Mr Phillips, you and your wife's sister, ms smith, fell in love? Your plan was to get with her sister then kill her to get her money? It's a little peculiar how not even a week after Elisas funeral, had a relationship with you and ms Jess Smith been announced?" Quackity crossed his arms watching as Mr Phillips scrunched his face up, the judge opened his mouth the speak, possibly to overrule as Quackity had gone on a short tangent.
"NO- That's not how it- that's not how it happened!" Mr Phillips yelled across the room stunning the entire court into silence, "Fine- god it's not like I'm getting out of this, I killed her!"
A member of the crowd let out a quiet gasp, "I was in love with Jess, then Elisa found out. She demanded we get a divorce and I- I panicked. I knew we wouldn't get a lot of money if she was the one filing for divorce, i did the maths in my head and knew I was in her will. And I killed her-"
"Court adjourned, twenty minutes on circumstance of sudden confession" The judge spoke, smacking his gavel.
—
The court came back into play after the break, Quackity was sat with the victims mother who was pleading against the defendant.
"Mr Alexander Phillips, Please stand" The judge spoke, his eyes on the paper infront of him.
"Mr Walker, how does the defendant plead?"
"The defendant pleads guilty your honour."
"Mr Phillips you are convicted of First degree murder, your sentence is life without parole or chance of bail."
"NO!" Mr Phillips yelled as he was taken away by the police guards, "FUCK YOU HERNANDEZ! I'LL HAVE YOU DEAD I TELL YOU, ILL HAVE YOU DEAD!" he yelled, just before he was taken completely out of the room.
"Court adjourned!" The judge hit the gavel once more and everyone poured out of the room.
Quackity began heading to his hotel room, it was often he got death threats from the cases he'd won against criminals, that was the issue with working within criminal law. It resulted in a lot of death threats.
Upon entering his hotel room he collapsed onto the bed, untying his tie and undoing the top button. He let out a deep sigh, staring into the darkness of the hotel praying for sleep to soon consume him.

Dream sat across his bed aimlessly scrolling his phone as George sat on the windowsill, looking out the the sea.
"Your apartments so much prettier than mine."
"Then move in with me." dream chuckled not looking up from his phone.
"What?"
"Youre always here anyway," Dream glanced up looking over at the shorter boy, "what difference would it make."
"dunno," George looked back out to the water, "everyone else our age is settling down, not moving in with their best friends."
"So? Who cares about everyone else?" Dream questioned, putting his phone down and getting up standing behind George. "besides, we're hardly friends George."
"We're not?" George turned, worry filling his face, Dream chuckled putting his hands on George's waist making sure to hold him tight.
"I don't want to be your friend George, I never have."
"Then why- Dream? So all of this for not-" he quickly spat, sitting up as he got more frustrated, Dream simply tightened his grip before removing a hand to run through George's hair
"let me finish,"
"Fine."
"I want to be your boyfriend George."
"What?" George grabbed Dreams wrist
"I want to be your bo-"
"I heard you the first time-" George quickly cut him off.
"George, i loved you back then and I still love you now, i don't want to make the same mistake I did before and wait- 'cause last time I didn't tell you left and I never got the chance. But now I have a chance to tell you, I don't want to waste it."
"Can i kiss you?" George spoke, his voice was hesitant, shaken. Dream was quick to nod, eagerness filling his expression.
George reached out, letting his hands rest on Dreams cheeks, slowly pulling him in and locking lips. The kiss was slow at first, hesitant. The both of them just trying to get used to it, ease quickly came when George deepened the kiss, his arms wrapping the back of Dreams neck as he pulled him in, Dream propped his hands on the window sill to gain balance so he didn't topple over before letting a hand slide up the back of George shirt.
"Stop- please-" George spoke against Dreams mouth followed by pants, Dream didn't hesitate to pull away.
"Did i do something wrong- shit I took it too far George i'm so-"
"Stop." George grabbed Dreams hand, wrapping his fingers between tan ones.
"I'm okay, I just didn't want it to go too far and us do something stupid."
"Yeah- fair enough- sorry."
"don't be sorry dumbass."
"okay,"
"I'll be your boyfriend Dream." George smiled watching as his now boyfriends own lips twisted into a smile.
"Kinda gathered that, stupid" Dream chuckled, letting go of George's hand and dropping back onto the bed picking his phone up.
"shut up." George poured before turning back to look at the sea.
The two had a worm sense of comfort when around eachother, everything was just so casual despite everything that had happened between them and that was okay. It was healthy, they spoke out everything and anything that bothered them. Now they were dating, after almost eight years of pent up emotions they were dating, even with five years of Dream grieving and George suffering, the two of them finally found eachother. Dream didn't believe in soulmates, but this sure changed his mind. George changed his mind.
Dream raised his brow at an article that caught his mind, he read the title aloud.
"Alexis Hernandez wins the Philips case, Alexander Philips pleads guilty to the murder of Elisa Philips."
"Alexis Hernandez? that sounds familiar." George spoke, looking over to Dream.
Dream bit his lip trying to figure it out.
"Quackity! That's Quackity!" George yelled, he jumped off the window sill and almost on-top of Dream, "Hurry read it! Read it!" George pleased as he sat himself beside Dream, his head resting on his shoulder.
Dream cleared his throat, clicking the article.
"The Phillips case had been in court three times, due to Mr Phillips being a wealthy man most were afraid to fight him in court however critically acclaimed lawyer Alexis Hernandez took on the case, ultimately winning, adding to his astounding 156 wins. Alexis has now been named one of the top lawyers in the USA, most were surprised to see his uprise after his previous career of content creation within video games, so most were surprised to see his talent within law. Mr Phillips was sentenced to life without parole today at an undisclosed court in Florida."
"Jesus, he's really doing well for himself" George smiled as Dream closed the phone.
"Yeah, i do miss that guy, he was great."
"What happened after I left, where'd everyone go?"
"Well, I'm not sure. After sap walked out, I just cut everyone off, got scared I guess. Haven't spoke to or heard from anyone since."
"Saps engaged now."
"He is?" dream raised a brow.
"Yeah, i was stalking his twitter yesterday."
"good for him."
"Yeah." There was an awkward silence shared between the two, nothing but the gentle hum of the ac, neither of the two really knowing what to say.
"I wonder who she is," George added in.
"Dunno, as long as he's happy." Dream spoke, his voice quieter with every word.
"Do you miss him?"
"Who, Sap?"
"Mhm" George began to thread his hand through Dreams hair as he stared into nothingness awaiting an answer.
"sometimes, I guess." Dream cleared his throat, "like, I'll hear something and it'll remind me off him or I'd think about what he'd answer to it, or sometimes when I'm watching football I miss the days when we'd drink beer and eat tonnes of junk food just watching and talking about whatever was on our minds at the time, but then I remember how bitter it got towards the end of our friendship and I just, I don't miss him."
"I miss him," George spoke, "all the time."
"I know honey, it just be harder for you"
"No Dream, losing a friend is hard on anyone, I just would kill to see him again."
"me too."
