We finally got to the bridge, it being a bit more dilapidated than it had used to be, but that had to have been ages ago.
Clementine: Okay. Just take your time. And keep moving forward.
We all started walking across it, me limping and dragging my left leg along. As we got to the middle, we had to jump over the back of a truck and then found a huge gap in the bridge. It was a gap and the wooden planks hung over the edge, some of them hanging on by a splinter. I looked down and saw the fast rushing water below and the sharp rocks you would hit on the way down.
AJ: That’s… far.
Tenn: Really far.
Violet: Should be able to jump it. It’s not that far.
Y/n: I don’t know if I can. Not with this injury.
Clementine: You can. We all can. We just gotta be careful not to land too hard on the other side--
???: ~ Never mind the darkness. Never mind the storm. Never mind the blood-red moon. The night will be over soon.~
As we all turned to the source of the eerie singing, we found Minerva. She was covered in her own blood, chunks bitten out of her from walkers and she was holding an axe. One of her legs dragged behind her and she still approached us, a herd of walkers following after her.
Tenn: Minnie!
The boy took a step forward, but stopped as he saw the walkers behind her.
Minerva: I did it! I found you! Oh, Tenn… My sweet little brother. Come with me.
Tenn: You’re dying.
Minerva: Yes! Yes, I am. I’m finally going someplace better. I want you there with me.
Tenn: Where everyone gets to be a person again…
Minerva: We’re gonna go be with Mom, and Dad, and Sophie. Together. It won’t be real if you’re not there.
Y/n: Tenn, look at me.
He did as he was told and I shook his head at him.
Y/n: She may look like your sister, but that’s not her anymore. The sister you knew is gone, so don’t listen to her.
Tenn: I’m…
A gunshot hit the air as Minnie fired her pistol towards the sky, drawing even more walkers.
Minerva: Don’t you fucking speak to him! Any of you.
We all quickly ducked beneath the truck, making sure Minnie wouldn’t hit any of us.
Violet: Please… please, Minnie, stop!
Minerva: He needs to be with his family.
Clementine: Don’t do this.
Minerva: Don’t worry, Tenn. They can try to stop me. But I’m not going anywhere without you. The night will be over soon.
The boy tried to stand up beside me and I saw Clementine try to reach over, trying to pull him back down, but she nearly got shot by Minnie.
Y/n: Get down!
Me and AJ tackled Tenn so he would get back down, just as walkers surrounded the truck, trying to get to us.
Violet: Look, me and Y/n’ll help the boys across the gap! Watch out for the walkers!
Clementine nodded and started shooting at them while Minerva tried to shoot her. We got AJ to get across the gap, but Tenn forced us not to let him cross.
Y/n: Tenn, you have to get across!
Tenn: No! I can’t leave Minnie!
Violet: That’s not Minnie anymore, okay? Would she be trying to kill someone if she was?
Tenn: Maybe she’s not Minnie, but she is my sister!
I sighed and snuck back over to Clementine while Violet still tried to get Tenn across.
Y/n: We got AJ across, but Tenn won’t leave!
They looked over to see Tenn crouching, his hands over his head and Violet was trying to get him to jump over the gap.
Clementine: I have to stop her!
As she got up to shoot again, Minnie was already on the truck and kicked her in the face, knocking her down and making her drop her weapon. Minnie jumped down beside me, hitting me in the face as she did, making me fall to the ground beside Clementine and then swung the axe down, but we both rolled away, letting it get stuck in the wood in between us. I saw a walker grab Clem’s leg, but luckily Violet shot it with the bow and Minnie charged at her, making her fall back and drop the bow through the gap and into the water.
Minerva: You are NOT his family.
She tried to fire her gun at Clementine, but it was out of ammo.
Minerva: You’re just one of the things in my way.
She reloads the gun, but I jumped up and grabbed it. We wrestled for the weapon and I headbutted Minnie, knocking her down. I was getting ready to shoot Minnie, hesitating for a second and then she spat blood in my face. I grimaced and my vision blurred, making me shoot blindly and miss her. I moved away as Clementine came and punched Minnie in the face, but she was ready, dodging it and bringing her axe down on the girl’s leg.
Y/n: Clementine!
I held the gun firmly in my hand and pointed it at Minnie as she raised her axe at me.
Minerva: I’m taking Tenn home. I’m going home.
Y/n: Go to hell.
I pulled the trigger and shot her in the shoulder. Dropping the axe, she stumbled backwards and into some walkers who grab her and bite her once again.
Tenn: Minnie! Minnie!
The boy ran up to Minerva as he tried to reach his arms out to her. I looked over at Violet and Clementine, seeing they were still on this side of the bridge.
Y/n: You two get across! I’ll go and get Tenn!
They both nodded and Clem got up with the help of the axe. As she reached the gap, Violet jumped across herself, standing on the other side, ready to catch her if she jumped too short. Clem threw the axe across first and then took a running jump, dropping the gun. She made it to the other side while I tried to tug Tenn across the gap.
Y/n: TENNESSEE! Move your fucking ass and get across that gap!
I heard someone pick up a gun from the other side of the bridge.
Minerva: No!
Y/n: Tenn! Please! Move!
AJ: Let him go! You’ll die if you don’t!
Y/n: I can’t! I don’t want to!
I felt tears in my eyes as I tried all my might to get him across the gap, but he wasn’t budging, he wouldn’t leave his sister. Then another gunshot sounded in the air and I turned to see AJ holding a smoking gun and beside me, Tenn held his neck, blood spewing out and he collapsed on the ground.
Y/n: NO!
Violet: Tenn!
Clementine: Y/n, please jump!
I took one last glance at Tenn’s body and tried my hardest to jump across the gap as walkers finally got past the truck, nearly grabbing me. I didn’t fully make it across and I held onto the edge of the wooden floor, being pulled back up by Violet and Clementine. And as I laid on my knees, I saw behind me, walkers devouring Tenn.
Violet: Oh, my God! Oh, my God, no, no, no… No!
Y/n: Fuck! What the fuck!?
Minerva: That’s right. Come with me.
Me and Violet looked at AJ, eyes wide and staring at him in horror.
Violet: What the fuck!? How could you do that!?
AJ: I had to! Y/n wouldn’t ever see ‘Texas Two’ if I didn’t. I did it for her.
Y/n: You did it for me? I can’t… Tenn is gone. I just… Why him? He did nothing wrong!
Clementine: AJ saved your life, Y/n/n. You’d be dead if he hadn’t taken that shot.
Violet: You think that’s okay? Just gunning down one of our own?
I took a deep breath and put my hands on my head as I looked over at Tenn and Minerva’s dead bodies.
AJ: I didn’t want to shoot him! He was my first real friend. But he was messing up again. Just like when he got Mitch killed. So I had to decide. Clem said I could, so I did.
I sighed, nodding understandably, but still upset with the decision. I looked back over at the boy’s dead body.
Y/n: Goodbye, Tenn…
Walkers from our side of the bridge began to approach us and we all got up, readying our weapons.
Clementine: We gotta move.
I held out my sword and me and Clem limped after the other two who were running. We reached a chain link fence, and we looked up at this before turning back to the walkers.
AJ: The monsters are gonna trap us!
Clementine: I know.
Violet runs up to the fence, looking up at it.
Violet: I’ll climb first and I’ll catch you on the way down!
She climbed over, falling down the other side.
Violet: Come on!
I turned to see walkers approaching her on the other side.
Y/n: Vi!
Violet: Shit!
Walkers began to surround her and she managed to stun a few of them, but there were becoming too many.
Violet: I got it!
AJ: Clem, Y/n/n, look out!
We both were too distracted by Violet to see a walker coming towards us, but AJ shoots it before it can reach us.
Violet: Aw, fuck.
Clementine: Violet, run!
Y/n: Meet us at the school!
Violet: But--
Clementine: We’ll make it. Go!
So she ran off back through her own crowd of walkers while I used my sword to stop any more walkers coming towards us and Clementine used the axe to kill some beside her. There was a rocky outcrop beside us and AJ pointed to it.
AJ: We can climb there!
Clementine: Good idea. This first.
She threw up her axe and I threw my sword up after her.
AJ: Clem! Y/n/n!
Y/n: I got you.
I picked him up and helped him climb up the cliff.
Clementine: Go, we’re right behind you!
Y/n, you go next!
Y/n: You’re more injured--
Clementine: No arguing! Go!
I sighed and picked up my foot, quickly climbing up the cliff, ignoring the roaring pain in my leg as I did. I got up and held out my hand to grab Clementine and AJ leaned down to help me.
Y/n: Grab on!
She reached for our hands, but just as she did, everything went into slow motion. A walker grabbed her leg, taking a bite out of her already wounded ankle and I watched, eyes wide.
AJ: No!
Y/n: Fuck!
AJ started shooting the walker surrounding us as I dragged Clementine up, holding her in my arms as I looked down at her ankle.
AJ: Clem… Your leg…
She looked down, letting out a shaky breath.
Clementine: I got bit.
She didn’t seem to believe it herself, but shook my head, wiping her face with her hand.
Clementine: C’mon. We can’t stay here.
The girl got up from my arms, holding onto the axe for support and tried to walk forward.
Clementine: Keep moving forward. Keep moving… forward. Keep moving…
She stumbled and then fell onto her knees as Walkers made their way around us from the noise.
Y/n: Okay, I’m gonna pick you up.
I sheath my sword and leaned down, picking her up bridal style.
Clementine: I’m… fine…
Y/n: No, you’re not. Just relax and let us help you for once.
Clementine: Keep… moving…
AJ: Forward.
Clementine: Forward.
Me, carrying Clem, and AJ running ahead of us killing the walkers, we kept running into the forest, as the sun rose above the trees.
Clementine: Hey. I love you both. Don’t ever forget that.
AJ: I love you too, Clem.
Y/n: Always.
Clementine: Keep moving forward.
We saw a building appear in the distance, growing more and more familiar as we got closer.
AJ: Look! James’ barn! It’s empty now. We’ll be safe in there.
Clementine: Run! Now!
AJ ran ahead and I followed after, giving Clem a kiss on her forehead before running into the barn.
