Penthouse: Their Bedroom

I looked at the time and saw there were still two minutes left. I then looked back at my beautiful angel who was asleep in my arms. It was about to hit 12 and be Maya's birthday. I wasn't going to wake her up and wish her as I had a surprise planned for her tomorrow. I knew she never has celebrated her birthday so I decided she will celebrate it and have a day she would always remember. I looked back at the time and saw it was officially 12 and her birthday had started. "Happy birthday my angel." I whispered, not trying to wake her up. I left a long kiss on her forehead and looked back at her. She looks so calm and peaceful in her sleep. I lied back down and pulled her closer to my chest. I wanted to be the first one to wish her even though she doesn't know I wished her. I then kissed her head and thought about tomorrow. I will make it so memorable for my Maya.

Malhotra Industries: Aditya's Office

I couldn't concentrate on my work and kept thinking about tonight. It was Maya birthday today. I had came to the office early without waking Maya up. I had left a note saying I had an important meeting which wasn't true. I actually didn't want to see her face full of hope. I wasn't going to wish her until tonight as the surprise was taking place tonight. I wanted her to be left confused because I told everyone around her to not to wish her. I know she must be hating me right now as I didn't wish her either nor called or texted her. But if she sees the surprise and sees us there for her, she'll be even more happier.

The surprise was going to take place at our house. It was simple yet I knew Maya would love it. I had told driver kaka to pick her up from college. She must've been hoping to see me but I didn't go because of the surprise. I even told Shreya to take her somewhere so we could setup the surprise. She agreed and had just texted me that Maya is going with her to her house. Which meant we had lots of time to prepare. I had ordered a cake and told a few servants to decorate the house.

And about her gift. I had three gifts for her. One was her dream orphanage. I had constructed a building for her that would be her orphanage. I knew it was her dream because I had heard her say it once when we went on the plane to London. Her dream meant my dream. I had to fulfill it. The second gift was Singhania Mansion. It was under her name but Mr. Singhania had taken it away from her. It took us longer to get it back because of all the documentations and Mr. Singhania claiming his rights over it. But we finally got it back under Maya's name. I know she'll be so happy to see it. The final gift was something different. It was something which I didn't know if she'd like. I had tattooed her name on my forearm. It was my first tattoo ever and I wanted it to be special. Nothing can be more special then Maya. So I tattooed her name on me, showing myself that I won't ever get rid of her. I love her so much and could do anything for her.

"Hurry up Sidharth!" I yelled at him. "You do something too. You're just throwing orders on me." he groaned. "She must be coming any moment. Hurry up dude." I said impatiently. The door opened and I froze thinking Maya had came earlier then I expected. Shit! Plan fail? I looked over and let out a breath of relief. It was Shreya and Veer. Wait! If they're here then Maya must be also here. "Don't worry. We told driver kaka to take her through the long route. But she might be coming soon." We all paced up the work and finished when Sia yelled "She's here! Hide." I turned off the lights and hid behind a pillar and they all hid behind the table. The door opened and I saw Maya's shadow. She turned on the lights and turned around, showing her beautiful face which I couldn't see. But I know she was shocked and surprised.

Penthouse: Their Bedroom

I woke up with excitement. I looked over but then the smile on my face died. I didn't find Adi there but saw a note written on my bed-side table. I picked it up and it read:

Had an important meeting this morning so I had to leave. I didn't wake you up as you looked to peaceful in your sleep. I'll be back by the evening. - Your Adi

I groaned and put the note back down. I had thought Adi would've made today special but he didn't even wish me. Today was my birthday! I had never celebrated my birthday ever nor wished to as my life back then wasn't the best. They probably didn't even ever remember my birthday. But I thought Adi would've remembered it. But he left early in the morning and didn't wish me.

I picked up my phone to check if I had received any texts or calls from anyone but found zero notifications. The year I thought someone would remember, no one did. Not even Shreya. How is it possible that know one remembers? I exhaled loudly and thought maybe celebrating my birthday isn't in my luck. I then glanced over at the clock and my eyes widened. Oh god! I'm going to get late for college! I quickly got up and ran into the bathroom.

College

I walked into the college premises with a smile. Maybe Shreya and Veer will remember when they see me. Today I had worn a peach anarkali just as a birthday treat for myself. Because usually I wear simple churidar's. I saw Shreya and Veer talking with each other and went up to them with a smile. "Hi guys!" I said in a cheerful voice. "Hey." My smile dropped when they had completely ignored me. Seems like neither one of them remember it's my birthday! "Where are you lost?" I looked up and saw Shreya and Veer looking at me. I shook my head and said "No where."

They probably will remember soon. "Why are you so dressed up today. I know this isn't dressy but you aren't wearing your normal boring clothes today. Any special occasion?" Yup! They definitely don't know. "Just felt like it." I lowly said. "Maya you should come with us to my house today. My parents want to meet you again." I can't say yes. What if Adi comes and picks me up to take me out somewhere for my birthday. "I don't know. I can't." I said. They both looked at each other and then nodded. The bell rang and Shreya said "Come Maya. That stupid fatso teacher will yell at us if we get late." I silently nodded and we went towards the classroom.

The whole day passed like that and no one remembered my birthday. I always checked my phone after each class but didn't find any text from anyone nor call. I had thought Adi would've remembered. All day long he remembers to say 'I love you' to me but he can't remember my birthday that comes only once in a year. I remember his birthday date clearly but he doesn't remember my birthday. How mean!

I walked outside and hoped to see Adi's car but I saw driver kaka's car. I huffed in annoyance and was 100% sure no one remembered. I then thought if he doesn't remember now he won't remember at all. So I rethought about the choice Shreya gave me. Maybe I should go with her. It's better then staying home alone and mourning on my birthday. So I walked over towards her and tapped her shoulder. She turned around and I said "I changed my mind. I'll go to your house with you." She grinned at me and said "Okay! I'll come with Veer and you come with the driver as your husband won't let you go without him." Adi told me to only go with kaka or with himself. And if I want to go with someone else I have to ask permission. And I was in no mood to call him. So I nodded and walked towards the car and sat inside it, pissed off.

Shreya's House: Living Room

"How is your marriage life beta?" Shreya's mom asked. "Aunty it's good." I told. "Beta you haven't eaten anything. Here. Take some." she said, pushing the plate of namkeen towards me. "It's okay aunty." I said with a smile. This smile was fake. I didn't want to seem rude in front of Shreya's parents. They were very sweet and treated me like their own daughter. "Maya, are you excited?" I looked at her confused and her mom said "I'll be back. You guys talk." "Excited for what!?" I then suddenly thought she remembered my birthday and got excited. "For our last day of college. It's in two weeks! And after that no more college for a month and half! I can't wait." Oh! I need to stop getting my hopes to high. No one remembers! "Yea..I'm excited." I said, clearly not excited.

"During college break we all should go somewhere together." Veer said, stuffing his mouth with the namkeen. "We could take Adi because he won't let you go alone. And then Sidharth and Sia as well." I just nodded, not paying attention to them. This was not a good day. When finally everything is normal, everyone forgets my birthday. Birthday's aren't in my luck. But they all could've at least wished me. Now I'm mad at Adi. Not only he hasn't wished me but he hasn't called me all day long. I've decided that I won't talk to him until he realizes what he did.

Penthouse

I angrily opened the penthouse door and saw the whole house was dark. It meant Mary aunty had left and Adi still hadn't came home yet. Great! I turned around and closed the door. I then turned on the lights, turning around and got shocked. "Surprise!!" they all yelled. My mouth hung open with shock seeing everything. There were balloons everywhere and the whole place was decorated. There was a big table with a three tier cake in the middle of it, decorated beautifully. Mumma and papa were surrounding the table with Sia and Sidharth bhai. And I was most shocked when I saw Veer and Shreya standing there. But the person I wanted to see wasn't there.

I slowly walked closer to them and Shreya said "Close your mouth at least." I quickly closed my mouth and said "This is..for me?" "Ugh! She's so stupid. Of course it is." And that was obviously Shreya. I looked around but didn't find Adi anywhere. They all were grinning looking behind me. I got confused and turned around, bumping into a hard chest. I looked up and saw Adi looking at me with a smile. "Happy birthday angel." he said in his husky voice. I was probably smiling like a fool right now. I was at the loss of words. We were staring into each other's eyes when we heard "Oh ho!" I turned red, realizing everyone was here including mumma and papa. I hid my face in my palms and everyone laughed. Adi made me turn around towards them and they all yelled "Happy birthday Maya!"

"You all remembered?" I asked. I had thought they had forgotten. "Of course we did. It's your birthday! No one can ever forget Maya's birthday." Sidharth bhai said. "I thought you all had forgotten." I muttered. "Never! Neither one of us wanted to die." Shreya said. I glared at her and they all laughed. "If you knew why didn't you wish me all day! Especially you both." I said, pointing towards Shreya and Veer. "Ask your husband." Veer said. I looked up at Adi confused and he passed me a sheepish smile. "Your husband had given us strict instructions to not wish you before he does tonight." Sia explained. So that explains the zero wishes until now. I looked back at Adi and saw him looking around sheepishly. "We took you to my house as they had to decorate this place." Now it all makes sense except one thing. "How did you reach here before me?" I asked. "Maybe because we told driver kaka to take you through the way full of traffic." Now everything makes sense!

"You guys know she was killing us through her eyes because we didn't wish her. Her whole mood was off the whole day. She was seriously mad at you Adi. She kept checking her phone in between classes. If you hadn't wished her by midnight you would've definitely been murdered tonight." Shreya said, laughing. I took a step towards her and mumma came towards me. "Don't trouble my daughter. It's her birthday today." I stuck my tongue out at Shreya while she huffed.

"Can we cut the cake now! I'm starving!" bhai groaned. They all agreed and dragged me towards the cake. Sia handed me a knife and I looked over and saw Adi standing behind me. I held his hand and placed it on the knife. "Make a wish." I closed my eyes and wished for Adi to always be happy and safe. I blew out the candles and cut the cake with Adi. They all sang happy birthday while I was smiling. I took the piece of cake and turned towards Adi, feeding it to him first. He fed it back to me with a smile and both Sia and Shreya said "Oh ho!" "You both wait and watch. When it's your turn I'll tease you double." I said, making them automatically shut up.

I fed the cake to everyone and they all fed it back to me. We all ate and had an amazing time talking and taking pictures. They all had even given me beautiful gifts. For me gifts aren't everything. It's the love the people put into the gift. I'm happy with just a birthday wish and no gift. This was the first time someone had ever celebrated my birthday. Thanks to Adi!

Penthouse: Their Room

Everyone had left and my birthday was going to end in an hour. I walked into our room with Adi trailing behind. I turned towards him with a smile and jumped on to him, hugging him tightly. He stumbled a bit but hugged me back. "Thank you, thank you, thank you!" I yelled, excitedly. He chuckled and broke the hug. "Happy birthday Maya." he said and left a long kiss on my forehead. "Thank you Adi! Today was extremely special for me. No one had ever celebrated my birthday nor wished me, except for Vivaan. But you made this day very special and I won't ever be able to forget today." He listened to me, smiling and then said "You deserve this Maya. You've done so much to help others and experienced so much. You deserve the world's greatest happiness. This is nothing." He pecked the bridge of my nose.

"Everyone had gave you a gift. You must be wondering why I didn't. Right?" I shook my head and said "I don't need a gift. You're the best gift I could've ever asked for. This life and love was just a dream but you changed it into reality. I don't need any other gift." I said, wrapping my arms around his torso. "Aww. That's sad because I actually had a few gifts for you." he said, taking my arms off of him. "Really! Show me!" I excitedly said. "But you said you don't need any gift so I guess I could return them." he said, walking towards the closet. I blew my cheeks up in annoyance and said "Adi don't play with me! Show me na!" He grinned and was about to open the closet door, ignoring me but I held his arm, not allowing him to open it. I pulled him towards me and said "Adi. Tell me! Pleaseee!" He let out a chuckle and said "Ok baba!" I got excited and followed him.

He picked up a file from the coffee table. I got confused. Is he going to make me work!? He handed it to me and said "Open it." I did as he said and was confused. There was a picture of a house like thing which was decorated beautifully. It had a warm feeling to it. I looked up at him and saw him smiling at me. "What..is this?" I asked. "Read the board." he said, pointing towards it. It read it and my eyes widened. "Maya's Angelic Orphanage..." I whispered. Tears started forming in my eyes.

"This...it's mine...?" I looked up at him and he nodded with a smile. "It's your own orphanage." I looked back at the picture and caressed it lightly with my fingers. "I know it's not the best name but we can change-" I tightly hugged Adi while my tears rolled down, not letting him finish. They were tears of happiness. Having my own orphanage was my dream and he made that dream a reality like everything else. "I love the name." He broke the hug and wiped my tears away. "Don't cry now. It's your birthday." "Adi..this was my dream. I had always wanted to open my own orphanage. And you completed that dream. I couldn't even have imagined this." He held my face in both of his hands and said "Your dream is my dream. I can do anything to accomplish your dream."

"Thank you..." I whispered. "They say that there are no sorry's nor thank you's in friendship. They're aren't any in marriage either." "Now don't waste your tears here. I have another gift for you." I was shocked hearing him. "This is enough Adi. I don't need anything more." He shook his head and picked up another file on the coffee table. "Open this now." I did as he said and was confused once again. There were so many words everywhere that I couldn't understand anything. I looked up at Adi confused and he said "These are the documents for Singhania Mansion. It is now under your name." My mouth hung open hearing him. "Your dad had everything under your name, including the house. I had given your everything that your dad had under your name that day except for this. It took us a while to get this back as your so-called uncle and aunt weren't leaving that property but now we got it. And it's officially your's." "Adi...this is the only thing I have as their memory and you returned it to me. This is something I never even expected." He smiled, saying "No one can take whatever is your's. Including me."

"Now for the final gift!" My mouth opened hearing him. "Another gift! Adi how many gifts are there!?" "This is the last one baby." I nodded and his hands reached his sleeve. He rolled it up revealing something that I couldn't even think of. My hands started shaking and I held his arm, controlling my tears. "You tattooed...my name on you!?" He had tattooed 'Maya' in cursive on his forearm. He smiled and nodded. "This must've hurt so much Adi! Why would you do that!? You're so stupid Adi." I scolded. His arm was still a bit red.

"I have tattooed your name on me and here you're scolding me! You should be jumping up and down." he said. "This isn't a joke Adi. My husband has put a mark on his body that he can't get rid of for his entire life. And I know it hurt very badly." He held my hands and said "Maya the pain was nothing. This mark is my life. It has my life's name written here. I don't ever want to get rid of it. It shows me that you're always with me." I melted after hearing his words. I then realized what he had done though. I hit his chest and said "Never do such a dumb thing like this again. I don't need no mark to represent our love." He grinned and said "Sorry! I won't ever. But this mark is going to stay with me my entire life and so are you."

I looked up at him and got on my tippy-toes, about matching his height. I then placed my lips on his, kissing him with my love. It took him a few seconds to understand but soon he started moving his lips against mine. One of his hands reached my waist while the other cupped my face and mine reached his hair. Today I wanted dominancy. I kept kissing him, trying to win dominancy and he let me. He gave me dominancy for the first few minutes but then gained it back. We broke the kiss, out of breath and connected our foreheads. "All these gifts mean a lot Adi. You don't know what you did for me means!" He looked at me and said "I told you I can do anything for you." I tightly hugged him and he also did.

When we broke the hug I once again started kissing him. My hands reached to his shirt buttons, unbuttoning them. Today I wanted to make love to him. When I finished unbuttoning his shirt, which he took off and threw, we broke the kiss. He smirked at me and picked me up in bridal style, placing me on the bed.

He hovered over me and said "I didn't know my wife had a not so innocent side of her." I pushed him down and hovered over him with him underneath me. "You'll see more of this not so innocent Maya then." I kissed his head, cheeks, nose, and chin. I then kissed his chest and next moved to his perfect abs, leaving a light lipstick mark on them. I looked at him and saw him smirking at me. I buried my face into his neck and had an idea. I nibbled his neck, trying to create a hickey. "What are you doing Maya?" I heard him ask. "Trying to...create a hickey. You always leave so many on me which later I have trouble covering."

I saw him grinning at me and then said "Look! I did it." I then placed my head on his chest, trying to hear his heartbeat. It was rapid just like mine, allowing me to know I create an effect on him like he does on me. "See I create an effect on you also." He nodded with a smile and said "You always do baby." I smiled and placed my head back on his chest when he flipped us over. Now again he was on top of me and I was under. He trailed kisses from my neck to cleavage. I arched my back, giving him more access to my neck. Today he didn't have to ask for permission as I was the one who started it. He unzipped my suit and slid it off of me. He placed his lips on mine and kissed me with love.

He had made me the happiest person ever. I couldn't have ever asked for more. I don't need more. Only my Adi and his unconditional love.
