"Well, we can't go back to the house." Luther said.

At the moment, we were walking down the alleyway to Diego's house. We were planning on back to the Academy, but Diego remembered that Hazel and Cha-Cha attacked them, so we were to his house instead.

Having drunk Five in your hand may sound easy, but in reality, it is more annoying than you think.

Some people, when they get drunken, they don't know what is right or wrong, but for Five, he completely forgets who you are. Though, It may have been because the alcohol was strong to Five's 13 year old body.

That's my other issue. He is mentally 30 years old, but is physically 13. I was afraid something might happen to him. But, that wasn't on my mind, at the moment.

Five, scooped in my arms, kept playing with my chin, squeezing my cheeks, and occasionally drooling on me. It was very annoying.

Drunk Five had also forgotten my name. He would say "Who's this pretty girl?" or "Lean down, sweetheart". For the love of god, why is he so annoying?

"It's not secure. Those psychopaths could come back at any moment." Luther continued. "My place is closer." Diego said. "No one will look for them there."

As we continued to walk, Five kept burping and I kept hearing churns in this stomach. "I swear, if you vomit on me. . ." I threatened.

He completely ignored me. "You know what's funny?" Five slurred in his words while stretching his head back. "Aah!" He said in a weird odd tone. "I'm going through puberty." He said, making me roll my eyes. "Twice."

After a moment of silence, Five retorted to going back to squeezing my cheeks. "Can someone tell me who's this pretty girl? I need to date her now" He yet again slurred.

This time, my cheeks filled with red blush. Five, his drunk self realizing, started laughing. "Do I make yo nervous?"

Instead of answering, I looked away and coughed, trying to make my red filled cheeks go away.

"And I...I drank that whole bottle, didn't I?" He rhetorically asked. "That's what you do when the world you love goes bye-bye." He said childishly. "Poof, it's gone."

I looked down at the boy in my arms. I felt bad. Really bad. Maybe, if I never came into his life in the first place, maybe, just maybe, he could have saved the world. Five would have never dranken. And I sure would have been happier being on my own.

"What are you guys talkin' about?" Five asked out of the blue. "Two masked intruders attacked the Academy last night." Diego said. "They came looking for you and Y/N."

"Who's Y/N?" Five asked while trying to "boop" my nose. "Your girlfriend."

"Diego!" I yelled angrily. Five started smiling wildly while stroking Delores's waist.

Diego, seeing that I was flustered and couldn't talk, decided to continue. "So I need you to focus." Diego stated strictly. "Diego, he's drunk, we can talk to him lat-" I started, but was soon cut off by Diego. "What do they want?"

I rolled my eyes. "Hazel and Cha-Cha" Five said. His eyes showed that he would doze off soon. "Who?" Diego asked. "You know, I hate code names." Luther retorted. "Ah, the best of the best."

"Except for me, of course." Five said. I looked down at the boy in my hands, was he self conscious too? I thought it was just me. But, of course, he is drunk, and I can't determine anything. "The best of what?" Diego asked. "You know, Delores always said she hated when I drink."

"You should've made me a Shirley..." He mimicked Delores. "Hey!" Diego yelled, seeing that Five often went off track. "Hm? Yeah?" Five slurred. "What do this Hazel and Cha-Cha want? We just wanna protect you."

I looked at Diego in the eye. "He's drunk, Diego. We can ask him later." I said. "You take him too soft." Diego spat at me. I looked down, feeling my heart aching yet again. Tears stained my eyes.

Five, seeing that I was close to crying, brought both his hands up to my eyes and pressed on them, wipping the tears that were close to falling. I looked at him. He gave me a wide smile back.

Maybe he wasn't the worst after all.

We all arrived at the Diego's so called home. Turns out it was just a basement.

Five had fell asleep mid walking. And it was very adorable.

I laid him on the uncomfortable looking bed and smiled down at him. Diego and Luther joined me on watching the cute boy. "Funny. If I didn't know he was such a prick, I'd say he looks almost adorable in his sleep."

I chuckled at Diego's comment. "Well, don't worry. He'll sober up eventually." Luther said. "Be back to his normal, unpleasant self." I joked back. "Yeah, I can't wait that long."

"I need to find out what their connection is with these lunatics" Diego said while walking away. By "lunatics" he definitely meant Hazel and Cha-Cha. "before someone else dies." Diego added.

"All that stuff he was saying before... What do you think he meant by-" Before Luther could continue, Diego held up his finger, telling him to shut up.

I heard someone softly knocking on the door. Diego edged to the door moment by moment before quickly opening the door.

Turns out it wasn't a murderer coming to kill us, it was just an old man. "You throw another one of those goddamn knives at me, I'm pressin' charge!" He spat. Judging by Diego's annoyed look, I guessed that he knew the old man.

I sighed and sat down on the bed beside Five, who was now also softly snoring. "What do you want, Al?" Diego asked annoyingly. Apparently his name was Al. "I ain't your secretary." Al said. "Yeah." Diego sighed before walking down the small steps. "Some lady called for you, said she needs your help."

At those words, I wondered if Diego had a girlfriend. If he did, I would be happy for me. At least someone in this house isn't lovesick.

"What lady?" Diego asked. "I dunno. Some, uh, detective. I think she said her name was, uh, Blotch or somethin'." He said. This got Diego's attention. "Patch?" Diego asked, earning a shrug from Al. "She needs my help" Diego said quickly before running up the stairs again.

"She needs you to meet her at that motel, a dump on Calhoun." Al said before passing a note to Diego, which I guessed he had written the notes. "When?" Diego asked, examining the note.

"About half an hour ago. Uh, said she found your brother."

We all exchanged looks. We had already found Five, he was now sound asleep behind me. "Well, that didn't make sense." Diego said. "Klaus" I breathed out, realizing. He nodded. "Go. I'll wait here with... him." Luther sighed.

I rolled my eyes. No one appreciated Five. He was out here trying to save the world while everyone else are living their Malibu dream.

I sighed and stretched a little. Carrying around Five all day was a lot harder than it looks.

Just as I was about to get up, I felt a pair of hands sneakily wrapping itself around my waist. I looked down in confusion. "What th-" I said. The arms that hugged me were small, and I realized that It was Five.

He let out a quiet moan. "Delores. . . You feel so warm and cozy today." He said tugging on my waist even more. "Five. Stop this bull shit. I'm sleepy." I said annoyingly while rubbing my eyes.

Meanwhile, Luther took the news paper and started reading it.

Five groaned before full on pushing me beside him. I yelped. Then he proceeded to move me by turning me to my side so that I was facing his chest.

I blushed, seeing that I was so close to him. Five sighed happily before going back to sleep. I still didn't understand how I looked or even seemed like Delores.

I sighed and bit my lower lip. My palms were sweaty and I felt like my heart was about to jump out of my chest.

I sighed, trying to calm myself down. I put my hands on his chest and felt his heart  beat. Slow and calm. Then I rested the side of my head on this chest, hearing his heart beat. This made me smile. I moved my hands from his chest and hugged him close to me.

For the first time in years, I felt safe and sound. As if someone was whispering, "I love you" in my ear every second.

I soon found my eyes feeling heavy. And soon found myself asleep.

I woke up to the sound of people talking. As my vision adjusted, I saw that Five was no longer in my arms. I was lonely on the bed.

I sleepily got up and and rubbed my eyes.

I looked around and spotted Five sitting at the edge of the bed. I blinked frantically, trying to wake myself up. "Mornin' Y/N" Luther said, noticing my awake figure.

Five turned around at the mention of my name and I looked at me. We both made eye contact for a solid minute, not looking away. His eyes were tired and sad, making me frown too. I thought about all the things he yelled at me. Now, our stare wasn't to show anger at each other, it was more just staring sadly at each other.

Luther coughed, snapping us out of attention. "I'm still here" He retorted. I rolled my eyes and started to shuffle over to to the edge of the bed too. But, I reminded myself to keep a fair distance between me and Five since we still hadn't apologized to each other.

They seemed to be talking before I woke up since they immediately returned to their conversation right after. "You were together, trying to stop whoever it was that ends the world." Five said sadly. I guess Five was telling Luther about the apocalypse.

"Wait, how do you know that?" Luther asked, concerned. "This was clutched in your dead hand when I found you." Five showed Luther by un-wrapping he ersatz from the dirty brown cloth he kept it in. "Must've ripped it out of their head right before you went down." I said, joining in on the explaining.

I've heard this story so much that I knew it from the back of my head.

"Whose head?" Luther continued to ask. "Like I said, I don't know. Well, there's a serial number on the back." Five said, turning over to show the number. It also had the words "MeriTech" printed on the back.

That is where we went earlier and that is where I got yelled at by the love of my life

"Think maybe you could try-" "No, that's a dead end." Five quickly cut him off, before looking at me, remembering how he yelled at me yet again. I looked down at my knees and sniffled.

Luther nodded and got both me and Five's dinner's and passed it to us. I just took the coffee, though. I really needed it.

Luther walked away, leaving both me and Five alone. "Look," Five started, turning to me. "I'm sorry about everything I said, I deserve to apologize to you. I should of never yelled at you. Stress is getting to my head. It wasn't your fault. It was no ones. This is just how life works. I'm sorry Y/N. I didn't mean to make you cry. I know how hard it is for you to talk about your childhood."

I looked at Five with a sad smile. "It's fine, Five. I've got over it anyway. And you don't need to apologize. It was my fault. I should have been more cooperative. I'm just childish." I chuckled sadly. "No, Y/N. You know-" Five started, but was quickly shut off by my finger in this thin lips. "If we keep saying sorry to each other, this is gonna talk forever" I laughed.

And for the first time, I saw Five laugh too.

Five put his hand on my left cheek and rubbed it with his thumb. And that's when I realized how close we were. Both our noses were touching. I felt my cheeks flow pink. Five leaned in close to my face, like no one was there and it was just us; that's when we heard the angry knife man brust through the doors.

Five took his hand away from my cheek and we both turned to the door.

Diego came running down the stairs. Judging by the redness in his eyes, he looked like he cried. "Piece of shit!" He yelled at both me and Five. Luther was quick to notice and jump in. He stood in front us and held Diego back as he launched at us.

"Do you have any idea what you two just did?" Diego grunted while being lifted off the floor by Luther. "Nope, let me-" I said, but was cut off by Diego harassing Luther by calling him a ape man.

"I can do this as long as it takes you to calm down." Luther sassed Diego. "Fine." Diego panted.

"Now, wanna tell us what you're talkin' about?" Luther asked.

"Our dear sibling's been pretty busy since they got back. They were in the middle of that shootout at Griddy's, and then at Gimble Brothers, after the guys in masks attacked the Academy, looking for them." Diego exposed us. "None of which is any of your concern." I said back.

"It is now."  Diego continued to pant. "They just killed my friend." He said. I sworn I saw tears in his eyes. "Well, I'm sorry for that. But, it's not my fault th-" "Who are they?" Diego asked, cutting me off. "They work for my former employer. A woman called The Handler. She sent them... to stop me." Five said sadly.

I looked at him sadly. He was still sobering up, I guess. "Then, soon as Diego's friend got in their way, well, fair game." I said. "And now they're my fair game. And I'm gonna see to it they pay."

"That would be a mistake, Diego." Five said. "They've killed people far more dangerous than you." I said. Diego just scoffed before walking up the stairs for the millionth time today.

"Yeah, we'll see about that."

After Diego left. Both me and Five talked. For the first time, it was something other than the apocalypse. We talked about the deliciousness of peanut butter and marshmallow sandwiches and he uncomfortable pajamas we wore when we were younger.

We had a good time laughing and having fun, till' Luther came back to ask about Five's past.

"Former employer? What's this really about?" He started. Just as I was about to speak, he interrupted. "And don't give me any of this 'It's none of your business' crap, all right?" He spat.

I turned my head down, mainly because I had nothing to say.

"Well, it's a long story." He said.

He told us about how he was found by The Handler, who is told to be mean, and was taken into The Commisson because he was skilled to survive the apocalypse. The Commisson controls all of the space and time. They make sure the time line if correct and fix it if something goes wrong.

"They turned me into the perfect instrument for rehabilitation of the time continuum." He said, looking down at his feet. "Or 'corrections,' as they called them." He said.

"I wasn't the only one. There are others like me. Beings out of time, fractured, extracted from the lives that they knew. I don't know how they got there. But I do know that none of them were as good as me."

I saw that Five only looked up when he drank his coffee and kept his head down most times. He definitely had tears in his eyes.

"They didn't realize it, but I was biding my time, trying to figure out the right equation so I could get back. If I could just get back, I knew I could stop the apocalypse. Save the world."

He apparently broke his contract. He was a hit man before for The Commisson. Luther, of course, thought this was all murder and pure crime. But, Five was there to remind him that we weren't kids anymore.

"There's no such thing as good guys or bad guys. There's just people, goin' about their lives. But when the world ends, all those people die, including our family."

He sighed.

"Time changes everything."

Both me and Five took yet another nap, but this time, we didn't cuddle like before. It still felt nice to see Five on the other side of the bed, though.

After we woke up, we left Luther and went back to the Academy. We changed into new pairs of The Umbrella Academy uniforms. Just as we were about to leave, we saw that Klaus was still here and we decided to say "hi", but we discovered something better.

He seemed to have taken a bloody bath judging by the trail of blood on the floor that were shaped of his foot.

"Oh, boy" Klaus groaned and sighed as he iched his back very much. I knocked on the door. "You okay?" Five asked. I never thought those words would come out of Five's lips.

"Hey. Yeah, I just... Long night." Klaus covered up. But, both me and Five had trained eyes to know that he was lying. "More than one, from the looks of it." I chuckled. He laughed back, "Yeah."

"Don't remember the dog tags." Five joked, pointing out the odd necklace he wore. It looked like the ones they use in war. . .

"Yeah, they belonged to a friend." Klaus said, grunting while struggling to put on his shirt.

"How about that new tattoo?" I asked, questioning him further. "You know, I don't totally remember even getting it." He said darkly. "Like I said, it was a long night."

"You did it, didn't you?" Five asked. Klaus looked up, confused of Five's words. "What are you talkin' about?"

"You know, I can recognize the symptoms, Klaus." Then I realized too. Klaus time traveled. But how?

"Symptoms of what?" Klaus continued to question. "The jet lag." I stated, remembering all the things Five told me about time travel. "Full body itch." Five continued for me. Klaus just sighed.

"Headache that feels like someone shoved a box of cotton-" "up into your nose and through your brain." Both me and Five continued our sentences. On the inside, I was smiling hard, but on the outside I kept a straight face since I didn't want to seem like I liked him. Plus, we were interrogating Klaus.

"You gonna tell us about it?" Five asked. Klaus looked and finally spoke the truth. "Your pals, when they broke into the house and they couldn't find you, they took me hostage instead." Klaus said.

I looked sadly at all scars and scratches he had, which were caused by the one and only Hazel and Cha-Cha. "And in return, you stole their briefcase." I stated. "Yeah." Klaus agreed. "I thought there was money in it, or I could pawn it, you know, whatever." He said lazily. "And then I opened it." Klaus sighed.

"And the next thing you knew, you were... where?" Five asked. "You should say 'when'" I corrected Five. "What difference does it make?" Klaus groaned. "What diff- Uh- Okay, how long were you gone?" I asked instead. "Almost a year." He told us.

Both me and Five exchanged looks. "A year?" Five asked, concerned. "Do you know what this means?" I asked. "Yeah, I'm ten months older now." Klaus laughed a little.

I rolled my eyes. "No, this isn't any sort of joke, Klaus." Five said, angrily stepping towards Klaus. "Hazel and Cha-Cha will do whatever they can to get the briefcase." I said, also stepping angrily. Five frustratingly  sighed. "Ok then, where is it now?"

"Gone. I destroyed it. Poof."

I angrily groaned. "What the hell were you thinking?" Five said, stepping even more towards to Klaus. "What do you care?" He asked. "What do I care? I needed it, you moron, so I could get back." Five continued to harass Klaus. "I could start over. Just- Just-" Five stuttered, finding hard to find the words to explain how he feels.

As Five was doing that, Klaus simply got up and started to leave. "Where you going?"

Klaus continued to walk out of the door and was well off. "Interrogation's over, just-  Leave."

Behind me, Five muttered curse words before walking away while grabbing my wrist yet again.

I sighed.

3623 words.
