Cat did not answer right away, and Shen wei waited with patience. He knew something was up, and he was getting a feeling of being trapped again. Cat felt the negative emotions in Shen wei surging and he was panicking.
"Host, actually it was my master that told me to get you to awaken Yunlans spiritual conscious"
"who is your master? and why?"
"My master is the one that made me I think, and he did not tell me why"
Shen wei became even more suspicious.
"Does that mean that, if me and your master disagree, you will force me to do something I don't want to?"
"no no, host, over me, you have highest authority, I cant lie to you, if I do, I will be punished"
Shen wei had a high IQ so he understood, this system was made for him, to obey him and help him, but could get missions from his master the maker, but he had a choice to do it or not, understanding that, he also figured out that they probably hide information from his system so that it cant tell something he should not. This made him more confused on what they really wanted to do.
Anyways whatever it is, he would fight it.
"then next time your master tells you to do something, tell me first"
"yes host"
Inside the room, both mother Zhao and Father Zhao was overjoyed. They told Yunlan about what had happen. Yunlan was surprised that something like the plague had hit their village, they had not heard anything about it out on the sea.
He felt a bit complicated when they told him that the young boy that had saved him was actually married to him. He has met this Ger before, but the boy in his memories and the one he met earlier seem so different. But then again, losing your family can change people , also he apparently got a gift from an immortal. He is not sure if he should believe it or not, but then thinking back on what he had done to him, he felt that he had a lot of secrets.
Yunlan thought that since this person has saved him and helped his family, he could treat him well, even if he could not fall in love with him, he would not be mistreated. He also knew that he had no such feelings for himself, so it should not be a problem.
Mother Zhao came running out, and hugged Shen wei tight. "thank you so much little wei" she said while choking up. Shen wei hugged her back, "no need to say thank you, we are family after all"
"Host, you got 50 power of faith points, do you wish to upgrade me now?"
"50?"
"yes, 20 from mother Zhao, and 20 from Father Zhao and 10 from Zhao Yunlan"
"okay, upgrade"
"yes host, 20 for upgrading, you have 30 left, cost 50 pts to level up to level 2"
"I see"
"do you want me to tell you the new changes? "
"not now, to tired"
Shen wei went to wash up before going to bed. When he got into the room, Yunlan had already fell asleep.
He walked towards the bed and lay down. He had lots of thought in his head but he was very tired and exhausted so he soon fell asleep.
Shen wei woke up refreshed and surprised, he did not think he would be able to sleep so well. He has not had a good sleep for many worlds, and certainly not next to another person.
Yunlan was still sleeping, so he got up to wash then cook breakfast. Not long after he was done with breakfast did both mother Zhao and father Zhao wake up. After quick check on Yunlan, they both sat down with Shen wei to eat.
When breakfast was done, Shen wei and father Zhao got ready to go to town. Shen wei had already packed up the herbs into two baskets , hidden with cloth on top.
Village heads son had an ox carriage that he would drive the villages into town, but since the outbreak it has not been used, so they payed him to drop them off. Shen wei had already planned to buy his own later that day.
While taking the ride, Shen wei was observing the surroundings while making plans for the village. The ride took around an hour, the ox was not in good health so it took longer then usual.
The town was lively, a huge contrast to their village. Shen wei walked around and checked the market for herbs. He noticed that most of them were in need of herbs, probably because of the outbreak not long ago. He let Father Zhao rest in a tea house while he went to the drug stores and clinics. For each time he went to a different drug store he would disguised himself differently. It would be troublesome if people figured out that he had sold so many herbs to many drugstores.
In the end he managed to get 3000 silver for it, which he put few in his pouch while the rest in his space. He then walked back to get father Zhao, he fully trusted Shen wei now so he did not even ask how much he had gotten, and only followed his lead. He was on his way to a housekeeping center, where they had trained maids and servants to buy people, for his future plans he needed people. But on their way, they walked past an alley and he noticed that it was underground trade center.
When he got there he saw a middle aged woman, harshly reprimanding people. He looked at them and saw around 20 people, in rags, sickly thin. He soon understood the situation, they were being sold, but no one wanted them so she was being harsh to them. Looking at them, it seemed to be around 15 boys and 5 girls between age 10-18.
The woman suddenly pulled out a whip, which made Shen wei react and he interrupted her.
"how much?" he asked in a cold voice. The woman looked at Shen wei and father Zhao surprised, she could tell that they probably did not have much money based on their clothes, but it was better then nothing anyways, so she changed her face and started to flatter them.
"dear customers, which one do you want?" Shen wei looked at her coldly , which made her surprised, she felt that this person seemed not easy.
"all " he answered , which shocked everyone around.
"sorry, what did you say?" she asked uncertain
"all off them, how much?" This made the woman take a closer look at him, was he serious?
"30 silvers? " she answered uncertain. Shen wei sneered, its ridiculous, that a human life could be bought for less then 2 silvers. When the woman saw him sneer and no answered she thought he felt it was to much , so she quickly said
"25 for 20 of them, its really cheap, if you go to the trading center one would be at least 10 silvers alone"
"deal" She was surprised then ecstatic, she felt that she had done a good deal, those 20 she had was both weak and thin, and no one wanted them, earning 25 silvers today was more then she has made this year, so she quickly got the papers ready.
Shen wei did not say much and left wit them. He took them to nearest decent inn. When he walked in, the receptionist gave a warm smile, its been a while since they had customers so she wanted to do her best
"welcome, what can I help you with?" She asked politely
"I need 2 rooms, one for the girls and 1 for the boys to wash up, also would like to order some food and also need you to help out to buy them some clothes"
"host, dont forget one of them is a Ger, so should rent 3 rooms"
"sorry, make it 3 rooms, i forgot that one was a ger" The girl was dumbfounded , but she reacted quickly, since this seemed to bring lot of money
"sir, please wait let me get the one in charge" Shen wei nodded and she ran to the back, and soon came back with middle age man and 2 teen boys and another girl.
"sir, can you explain again what you need" Shen wei explained again, and got them to fix the rooms and also fetch water and clothes. The inn workers were fast and prepared everything in orderly manner. Shen wei pulled father Zhao to sit down in the dinning room waiting for them to freshen up.
The slaves were very surprised by this, they had felt despair, some were sold by family, some was abducted after losing their families. They had been mistreated by the boss lady for few months already and was on verge of giving up hope, but then Shen wei came. He seemed not to bad, at least for now he did not do anything wrong to them.
After they finish freshening up, they came down and stood around waiting for orders. Shen wei saw them and told them to sit down. When they all got there, they served porridge with meat, and meat buns. Shen wei had put in some spiritual stone in the tea he made them.
The slaves felt like they were dreaming, how long has it been since they got warm food served. Some was so emotional that tears started to run down their cheeks.
Shen wei got up, "My name is Shen wei, from now on you will be working for me. I need you for a year, after a year, if you still want to stay then I will get you a house. During this year, you will be paid while working for me, for coming year, it will be a lot of work, if you think this is not something you can do, or want, then I will let you go right now, but if you say yes, then you have to stay for a year, breach of that will end up with penalty"
They slaves were confused, they were sold, so in normal times, they would have to follow him no matter what, but now they are given a choice? and what did he say? he would even pay them and get them a house? Most of them started to think if they fell asleep somehow and started to dream, because this sounded to good to be true, so it must be a dream.
Shen wei saw them dumbfounded and had a small smile on his face
"you can take some time to think about it, then let me know" He sat down again. One of the older ones got up "master I want to follow you" when he said that, the rest also snapped out of it, and got up and said the same.
Is this something to think about? this is so much better then many other slaves and normal housemaids.
Shen wei nodded, then he pulled Father Zhao on the side, gave him a pouch with money
"Father, you take 4 of the youngest ones and go buy 2 carriages, and 2 horses, remember to buy the best and the biggest, we got enough money"
Father Zhao was so surprised that he did not manage to say anything.
"when you are done, park on the check point, and stay there with them, I will go shopping, and then send some back and forth with the stuff"
Father Zhao got himself together, then picked 4 and left with them. Shen wei took the rest with him, while buying all sorts of things. Also managed to make a contract with few teams to help out build up the houses and such. He also told them to bring their families so they could help out with cooking and other small stuff. Of course Shen wei tempted them with very good pay, and also told them about buying a house there for almost nothing, and when they saw the drawing of the type of house, they did not hesitate.
To build up a village and make it run good, he needed people working and living there so that was his plan from the beginning, to lure more people there.
By the end of the day, the two carriages was filled with food and other stuff they needed. The slave have thought that the person had some money, but never thought he would have so much. They felt very lucky to have met him, and they started to have hope for the future.
Father Zhao drove one of the carriages, while the oldest of the slaves named Yihan drove the other. They stopped at the in laws place to pick up the youngest son. Father Zhao went in alone, but came back running with a sickly thin boy, who was bloody and in half coma. Shen wei turned cold.
Ahh, my dear lovlies, so sorry for the long wait. Actually I been having hard time writing, I mean I have at least 10 arcs outlined already, and this one should be the easiest one since its just a vacation world, with no plot but somehow it is the hardest one to finish, I keep writing, then re-writing not happy so it might seem very lacking and shallow, but I have to get past it so here we go.
