Soon the bells rang resembling the end of all clubs. I got up muttering episkey on my hand and picked up my book walking gracefully out of the classroom.
As I walked in the hallway I muttered profanities seeing the still visible scar on my hand. Well, at least Riddle seemed interested. Looks like nothing went to waste.

Your pov:-
I just walked out of another one of those "no nose man and his stinking group of freaks" meetings. Riddle had allowed me in the club but he didn't actually really let me participate. I was just supposed to sit there and watch.
It got so boring. He found me important but not interesting. Today's meeting was about magical dark arts objects. They discussed many dangerous objects and after a painstakingly slow speech by the great Voldemort himself, the bell rang. It was almost evening.
I, of course, was the first one to leave. I decided to go to the library and read some old muggle literature. I would have preferred playing Quidditch but I had to maintain a boring persona.
This week was also not so interesting. I had started talking to Severus. We had a few 'good mornings' and 'what class next' here and there. Narcissa and I were getting along quite well and she told me more about my roommates. McQueen was an arrogant pureblood who apparently had hots for Riddle and Parkinson her loyal sidekick.
I was passing the courtyard now when I heard some commotion. A large crowd was gathered around. I reached to the front to see the marauders standing near a tree laughing while Severus was picking up his fallen books.
All the others surrounding were either laughing or murmuring among themselves.
I went forward and picked his fallen books up handing them to him. No one noticed me yet, until-
"oh, look what we have here. Need another girl to help you now snivellus? How more pathetic can you get?" the one with glasses, whom I recognised as James Potter spoke up.
As he said the laughter only increased and I felt my blood boiling.
"I don't think he needs anyone's help, Potter." I say calmly.
"oh really, just look at him." he said as he waved his wand muttering a spell but before it could hit any of us I took out my wand and blocked the spell making it light like a small firework show.
"why don't we handle it the fair way Potter. A wizarding duel. First to disarm other wins. Or is your pathetic ass too coward to try to win a fair fight." I say. I can see his hold on his wand tightening and the crowd getting excited. Really they don't have any thing else to do.
"oh I would love to show you what a gryffindor can do, love, but we have some standards and hurting a weak girl would be too low even for someone like me." he said as I see Sirius Black snicker behind him patting his back.
"not me Potter. High of you to think I would be willing to fight a gryffindork. I was thinking of Severus here. Since you consider him so helpless why not just defeat him and show your power." I say pointing towards Snape as Potter and Black whisper something amongst themselves.
"why not? You ready to get you ass beaten snivellus?" he said as he came forward pointing his wand straight towards him.
I smirked and walked back towards Severus taking the books from him.
"what did you do, Y/n? I'll make a fool of myself." he whispered as I smiled at him.
"you know you won't. I believe in you. Just don't kill him or something. I won't want you in Azkaban." I say as I then move back and he takes out his wand too standing in the duel posture.
They both just stay like that for while waiting for the other to make a first move. The crowd going unimaginably quiet. Finally Potter waved his wand about to say a spell that was probably not even the disarming charm when Severus shouted expelliarmus as James wand flew from his hand to Severus's free hand.
Severus looked at me for a split second before shouting another spell which made James go flying towards the tree behind him.
Loud gasps came from the crowd as Lupin and Pettigrew went to check over Potter. Severus just stared at shock at James wand which was still in his hand but he did not notice Black, who was now fuming in anger, pointing his wand towards him.
I pointed my wand at him and said the First spell that came to my mind.
"Petrificus Totalus" my voice rang as everyone now turned their attention to Black who was standing with his wand ready, eyes red with anger, and as if in slow motion, stiffened as his hands stuck to his sides and he fell down petrified.
The crowd went completely silent until some cheering and whistles could be heard from fellow Slytherins and soon from most of the crowd. Severus smiled gratefully at me and Peter now moved over to see if Sirius was fine.
But just then the crowd started dispersing from a point and I could very easily recognise Proffesor McGonagall's pointy hat as she made her way towards the crime scene.
I looked over at Severus and he looked pretty scared. I knew that he did not have the best relationship with his parents so I walked over to him and took James wand from his hand as Proffesor McGonagall arrived to the centre of the crowd.
She looked at me, standing with James wand. Then at James himself, sitting next to the tree as Remus rubbed his back. Then at Sirius, who was petrified, his wand lying next to him, as Peter tried to unpetrify him.
"what happened here?" she asked. Though everyone was quite sure she understood the situation just by seeing the scene.
"well, professor." I started as she turned her attention to me. "I was walking around when Mr. Potter here decided to make fun of my house and house mates. I challenged him for a fair wizarding duel and, as you already see, he lost."
"it does not explain why Mr Black is lying here petrified?" she asked as she raised her eyebrow.
"oh well, he decided to interfere in our fair duel and so I had to stop him from medelling in the fights that were not his to fight." I say as I toss James wand to Remus who was now looking at us.
"you three will have detention with me on Monday after dinner for using magic in corridors. And I will write a letter to all three of your parents regarding this unnecessary behavior of yours at Hogwarts." she says as she looks over at me and I just look at the ground. Guess she will have to send the letter to heaven.
"everyone to your dorms now. I don't want to see anyone lingering around using magic in the corridors and you two," she said pointing and Remus and Peter. "bring them to hospital wing." she said before she walked away again to who knows where.
The crowd fully dispersed with people murmuring among themselves. It was already getting dark so everyone started going back to their dorms. I handed Severus his books and went my way towards slytherin common room. He followed me and walked fast to match my pace as he started speaking.
"you didn't had to do that for me." he said looking down.
"well, I already did that, didn't I" I say as he turns red with embarrassment.
"umm.. Yeah sorry, I mean, thank you" he said as I chuckled lightly.
"it's fine. And its nothing actually. You did great there."
"its not nothing. You got detention on my place. You should not have done that. And what can be worse than having detention with those two." he says now completely guilty to just let you take his blame.
"I already told you it's fine and it can't be that bad, can it?"
"you never know."
"well, I think I know what I did and isn't this what friends do for each other?"
"friends?"
"of course we are friends. Isn't that quite obvious." I say as I look at him.
"well yeah I just, I didn't think you would want to be my friend. You know because of what they all say."
"well I haven't heard a thing and technically I just saw how cool you are with my own two eyes. It's much reliable than any rumors."
"yeah I guess. Thanks again."
"your welcome." I say in a fake polite accent with a mock bow as if I just ended my performance. He laughed lightly but soon interrupted with someone calling his name.
"Severus" a red headed girl shouted as she ran over to us panting. I instantly recognised her as Lily soon-to-be Potter.
She stood for a bit catching her breath as she started bombarding Severus with questions.
"are you alright? What happened? Why were James and Sirius being taken to the hospital wing? They didn't hurt you did they? Did you actually duel with James? Where were you? What-" her rambling continued until Severus put a hand over her shoulder to stop her.
"I'm fine Lily. And the thing about dueling James it was just to show him that I'm not weak."
"oh god! Why would you do that? I know you are not weak. You didn't had to do something like that. You could have gotten hurt or even expelled." she said eyes full of concern.
"well sometimes you have to stand your ground. You can't just always ignore them and break into pieces slowly." I said with a polite smile making my presence known.
"oh yeah Lily, this is Y/n, Y/n L/n. She helped me out there. Twice. Even took the blame and the detention." he told ashamed of the last sentence.
"thank you for helping him. You are a real friend of his I can tell. I'm Lily Evans."
"it is fine. Honestly, if you two don't stop thanking me I would jinx you with silencing charm." I said as she laughed softly. I could see the amount of care in Severus's eyes as he looked at her.
"I really am looking forward to make friends with you. You are just another proof that Slytherins are not bad. I'm so glad you are Severus's friend." she said as she smiled at me.
"well we should be going now. Proffesor McGonagall won't be too happy if she saw us still in the corridors. You should go back too." Severus said and waved as Lily walked back the way she came.
"well glad your best friend doesn't hate me." I say as we arrive at the Slytherin common room. He said the password and we entered.
"I knew she would like you. You two are just alike." he said as I stood in front of the stairs to girl dormitories.
"well, I'll see you tomorrow then."
"yeah, thank you again for everything."
"really now." I say as I give him a playful glare.
"good night." he said as he walked away.
I also walked in to see my roommates talking and giggling among themselves and glaring at me. Treacle flew over to me to have his nightly treat. He nibbled on my finger as a goodbye and flew out of the window to sleep at the owlery.
Narcissa was not here yet. She was probably at her sister, Bellatrix's dorm, where she spent most of her time.
I changed into my pajamas brushed my teeth and turned off my lights as I got into the covers thinking what I got myself into.
The marauders were not the best people to mess with. And it could mean a lot of trouble. I had to stop them from getting to Severus but now it meant I could be their new victim. The thought made me nervous but excited.
At last some drama in my boring life.
Remus's pov:
Me and Peter were sitting between James and Sirius's beds. Sirius was unpetrified and was just laying on his bed. While James was given a pain killing potion as his back hurt a bit by crashing into that tree.
"that was embarrassing." James said.
"that too so much in front of the whole school." Sirius sighed.
"don't even know what Lily would think of me. Can you even believe, I, James Potter lost to snivellus. He was supposed to be the worst and I lost to him." James said as he sat up and covered his face in his hands.
"he would not have done that if it wasn't for that girl." Sirius said annoyance audible in his voice.
"who even was she? I've never seen her before." James said.
"isn't she the new girl from beauxbatons?" Peter said.
"you might know Remus?"Sirius asked and I sighed.
"well she is from beauxbatons, had to move here because of her academic excellence as Dumbledore put it. Her name is Y/n L/n and she is a Slytherin." I said as they continued their conversation.
"well I can already tell I hate her, and it's only been like three weeks." Sirius says and James nods.
"we'll get back to her. We'll have to or all of the respect we have earned would go to vain." James said fully determined.
"shouldn't you get back to Snape first?" Peter asked but James shook his head.
"we'll get back to him later. If we are able to break her and show her what we can do he will apologize to us himself. He went against us because of her so now she is our priority." James said as they started planning pranks to get back to her and I just sighed.
The girl should have stayed away from Snape's business.
