We arrive in the middle of the forest after so much struggle, like our van's tire sinking in the mud, so we have to push the van, we get lost, and I'm not sure if we can really trust Jessi.
I saw how she put some marks in the trees. I believe it was for a sign of where we should go when we left this forest.
Jessi divided us into two groups to build our tents and to accompany one another if we went further into the woods.
If you are thinking that Jennie is my partner, I'm sorry to crash your delulu mind, but Jisoo is my partner because Jessi said so.
That's why this chicken beside me kept murmuring some words that I couldn't understand. She is so sad that Rosé is not her partner.
We were building our tent, and we did it for a minute because Jisoo eagerly wanted to help Rosé build their tent.
She ran towards Rosé and helped them. I just shook my head at her antics. Suddenly, someone nudged me and it was Sana.
"Can you help Jennie build our tent?" She asked, which made me confused.
"Why? What's wrong? " I asked, confusedly.
"It's hard to team up with a grumpy kitten." She sighed deeply.
"Okay, I'll do it." She smiled widely.
"Can we exchange partners too? I can't handle her anger issue." She said, causing me to chuckle.
"Let me ask her first." She nodded in understanding.
"I know she will agree without a doubt." She said and pushed me slightly, encouraging me to go to the grumpy kitten.
I walked towards Jennie, and she was having a hard time building their tent. She was sweating hard and looked very stressed.
"Just take a seat and let me do it." I said behind her which made her startled.
"Don't surprise me like that." She stood up and playfully slapped my arm.
"You've never been on a camping trip before?" I asked as I started building her tent.
"Yeah, I wasn't allowed to go on school camping trips or even field trips from elementary school to senior high school," she said.
"That's sucks. You miss a lot of fun." She hummed in response. I glanced at her and she was staring at her phone.
I quickly finished building their tent and sat beside her. I snatched her phone from her hand and turned it off.
"There is no use in keeping it on since there is no signal here." I said and returned her phone when it was already off.
"I don't want to see them, Lisayah." She looked at me, and her eyes were full of sadness.
"You can avoid not seeing them." I said.
"But, I can't avoid them forever." I nodded in agreement.
"I don't know what is really going on between you and your parents, but I think you should make them understand you." She furrows her eyebrows and I can't help but smile at how cute she is every time she furrows her eyebrows.
"Why are you smiling like that?" she asked.
"It's nothing, I can just help it." I ruffled her hair, causing her to whine.
I stood up from my seat and looked around where my friends were.
"Where are you going?" She held my wrist.
"Help them." I pointed at our teammates who were struggling to make a fire so we could cook.
"Just stay here with me. You will only smell smoke if you help them cook." She said, which made me chuckle.
"Just tell me that you love my presence that much. That's why you want me to stay here." She let go of my wrist and rolled her eyes.
"Go help them, make sure that we will be having dinner at 6 pm." She said, and crossed both of her arms and legs.
"Okay." I ruffled her hair again and ran away before she turned into a mad kitten and became a sadist.
I went to my friends and helped them make fire. These idiots are crying so much because the smoke got into their eyes.
"What is the use of a fan if you are not going to use it?" I snatched the fan from Jisoo's hand.
"Fuck! This smoke. " Jisoo cursed and blamed the smoke.
Perks of being an Eagle Scout: I successfully made a fire.
Since I don't have a talent for cooking, I just watched them cut the ingredients and cook. I just watched the fire and waited for them to finish.
They finished cooking before the clock hit 6 pm, and we gathered in front of the bonfire.
Hyun and Mina are the ones scooping the food for us, then Seulgi and Cubby are the ones handing the food to us.
These two are so obvious that they are whipped to Hyun and Mina.
I sat beside Jennie, who was quiet the whole time. Our teammates were talking and laughing with each other while eating.
"What are we going to do next?" Jisoo asked Jessi.
"Do you want to do an activity this evening?" Jessi asked her, and she eagerly nodded.
"It's boring if we go to sleep this early." Jeongyeon said.
Jessi thought for a moment, and she snapped her hands when she got an idea.
"Let's have a courage test." This caused Hyun, Sana, Mina, and Rosé to groan.
"What are we seven years old?" Jennie scoffed and rolled her eyes.
"There is no age rule for having a courage test." Jessi said as she brought out something from her bag. "These are maps of this forest."
She handed us the map and some of us shared it with others because she only had seven maps in total.
"You need to mark this big tree, then come back here." Jessi pointed to the tree on the map.
"Are we going by twos?" I asked, and she nodded.
"The partners will be your tent partners." Jessi said something and that made Seulgi, Jeongyeon, and especially Jisoo disagree,
"Hell no! I don't want to go to the woods with this freaking monkey!" Jisoo exclaimed while pointing her index finger at me.
"As if she wants to come with you." Jennie said, and Jisoo looked offended.
"Just tell us you want to be a partner with Limario because you are a scaredy cat." Jisoo fired back.
"I admit it. I want to be a partner with Lisa and not with the noisy, flirty Sana." Jennie admitted, which made me a bit surprised. "Rosie will not come with a chicken like you because you are just going to chicken out in the woods."
"Yah! I'm not scared to go into the woods. I can even go there alone! " Jisoo glared at Jennie.
"Go alone then." For a brief moment, Jisoo was rendered speechless.
"W-what?" She stuttered.
"Go alone to the woods. You are not scared, right? You said you could go alone in the woods." Jennie smirked at Jisoo.
"Fine! But, you should also go alone." Jisoo said in defeat.
"Why should I? I already told you that I want to be partnered with Lisa because I want her to come with me into the woods." I stopped myself from laughing at Jisoo's reaction.
"You scaredy cat who can't even go alone in the woods." Jisoo rolled her eyes.
"As if you can, I know you are going to come back here crying like a big crybaby." Jennie flipped her hair sassily.
"Okay, Enough with that, Jisoo, you will be going alone because you said so. " Jessi declared, and Jisoo was about to protest, but Jessi didn't give her a chance.
"Here is the flashlight, map, and walkie-talkie just in case you get lost." Jessi handed her a small bag. "Goodluck, Chicken."
Jisoo stood in the same position she had been in since earlier, and she looked like her energy had drained out.
"Jisooyah! Fighting! " Seulgi cheered her up while laughing.
"Come back safe!" Jeongyeon added.
"Karma is really a bitch." I stood up from my seat and walked towards Jisoo. I patted her shoulders and handed her something. "You might encounter some ghosts there."
She looked at her hand and saw a piece of garlic in it. She looked at me in disbelief, and I laughed at her reaction.
"Goodluck, Chicken." I went back to sit beside Jennie, who had a smirk on her face.
Jisoo defeatedly went to the woods alone. I believe she was mumbling something, possibly a prayer.
The next ones who went to the woods are Seulgi and Jeongyeon. They used the other way to get to the biggest tree.
"Are you not scared to go into the woods?" I asked Jennie, and she leaned her head on my shoulder.
"Not really." She answered nonchalantly, but I didn't buy her answer.
"Seriously? Why don't you go to the woods alone?" I asked her and she bit my shoulder, which made me hiss in pain.
"Aw! What is that for you, little kitten? " I looked at her and pinched both of her cheeks.
"That's for not believing me that I'm not scared." She said, and I squished both of her cheeks.
"This little kitten is growing up now, huh? She is no longer a scaredy little kitten. " I cooed, earning a glare from her, but it's never going to affect me.
I kept playing with her cheeks and she just let me, but she continued glaring at me. My heart. She is too cute to handle.
"You are so adorable, Nini." I cupped her face and felt it went hot. "Are you blushing?"
"I'm not." She grab both of my cheeks and she squeeze it.
"I bet you are so red right now." My hands went to her ears and felt it's a bit hot.
"Don't act like you can see my face is so red." She said and I nodded which made her frowned. "What's that nod means?"
I was about to tell her but we heard Jessi called us.
"It's now your turn to go." Jessi said and gave us flashlight and map. "Be careful on your way."
"We will." I said and turned on the flashlight.
Jennie and I went to the woods. We both walking quietly, the only thing making noise are the bugs.
The sky is look beautiful today, there are a lot of stars accompanying the full moon.
"Lisayah?" Jennie tugged my jacket.
"Why?" I stopped from my tracks and looked at her.
"Are you perhaps colorblind?" She asked.
"Yeah." I answered.
She reached for my face and cupped it. Her fingertips starting to trace my face features.
"That's explain why Rosie always assisting you." She utterred.
"I didn't know you notice that." I responded.
"My eyes are always on you ever since I met you in the rooftop." She went more closer to me and she continue touching my face."
"Should I get flattered by that?" She shook her head.
"Lisayah, why you didn't tell me that you can't see colors?"
"What for? I just can't see any color but I'm a normal person."
"You are not, you basically have special ability which is to see numbers." I wrapped my arm at her waist and pulled her closer to me. "Have you ever wonder what color our surrounding is?"
"Not really."
"Why?"
"What is the use of seeing color if some people choose not to use their sight properly? There are a lot of people who are blinded by fame, power, and even love that they forgot their true self and people around them. It's much better to not be able to see colors. At least I have something to use as an excuse if I get blinded by something."
"That's exactly my parents. They are blinded by fame and power that they forgot that they have a daughter." She stopped touching my face and pulled away from me.
We continue walking while looking at the moon. Instead of following the map, I used the moon as the map because I think it will lead us to our destination.
"Captain?"
"Hmm?"
"I already told you what I am, I think it's fair for you to tell me who you are." I heard her sighed."
"I'm the daughter of Kim Jungjae, the famous business tycoon. Everybody thought that I have a very happy life because I can get whatever I want. However, all I want is the love and affection from my parents." She said with sadness evident to her voice.
"Since I was a toddler, they telling me what and not supposed to do. They want me to grow up as their ideal daughter and not as their real daughter." She chuckled weakly.
"When I turned twenty, I joined the volleyball team because it has always been my dream to play volleyball for South Korea. I'm no longer the Jennie Kim that always listening and following my parents order. "
"They got mad at new attitude and that is when our family started to fall down. It feels like we are just staying as family because of the medias. Pretending in front of millions people that we are a happy family eventhough we are not. It's sucks." She walked a bit ahead of me and she looking up to the sky.
"Have you ever told them that you all want is love and affection from them?" I asked which made her stop from her tracks.
"No." She answered withou looking back at me.
"Why?"
"They will never going to listen to someone unsucessful and rebellious person like me." She was about to walk again but I grab her wrist, making her turn around to looked at me.
"You are still in the process of being successful and you are on the stage of rebelling. They will listen to you if you try to make them listen and understand you, Jennie. Stop rebelling to them make them think that you will and you can surpass them."
"Lisayah, you don't know them. You don't know what kind of person they are. It's easy for you to say thay because you are not in my position." She remove my hold from her wrist."
"Don't ever tell me what to do, Lalisa. You don't have the rights to do so." She continue walking leaving me alone.
I followed her from behind and didn't bother walking beside her because I know she need some space.
We arrive in the big tree and I put our intials on it. We quickly walked away after we marked the tree.
Jennie is walking ahead of me, I know she doesn't have a plan to talk to me since I kinda make her mad.
"Captain?" I called her but she didn't respond.
She was ignoring me and most likely cursing me in her head.
"Crushie?" She continue walking.
I thought of an idea to make her talk to me. I looked around and crawled behind the bushes.
She kept from walking and she haven't noticed that I'm no longer walking behind her.
Suddenly, she stopped at her tracks and looked behind her. Maybe, she realized that she can't see the light coming from my flashlight.
"Lisayah?" She called me and started looking around.
I chuckled at the sight, she looked like a kid who got lost to her mother.
"Lisa? Where are you?" She asked and hint of fear is evident to her voice. "Don't joke around, I know you are hiding."
I grab a stone and threw it near her that made her shrieked. I cover my mouth to stop from laughing loudly.
"Lisayah!" She shouted my name.
"Lalisa! Stop fooling around!" She yelled out angrily.
I slowly went behind her and was about to surprise her when suddenly I heard a sobs coming from her that made me stop.
"L-lili, come out now please." She pleaded and sound so vulnerable.
"Look behind you." I whispered to her left ear.
She didn't waste any time, she turned around and engulf me with bear hug. I stumbled in my feet when she hugged me tightly.
I was sitting on the ground and she straddling my lap.
"Lili! huhu." She cried in my chest.
I hugged her tightly and tapped her back gently.
Suddenly, she pulled out from the hug and glared at me. She then started hitting me with both of her hands.
"I hate you!" She shouted while hitting me.
"You didn't mean that." I replied as I blocked her hands.
"I mean it! I really hate you!" I catched both of her hands and pushed her on the ground.
I'm on top of her and she underneath me. Her tears continue flowing from her eyes and it hurts me.
"I'm sorry, Nini. I didn't mean to make you mad and for talking without understanding what you really feel. Please, don't hate me."
"I didn't mean it." She said and she wiped my tears. I didn't noticed that I was crying.
"Don't ever hate me, Nini."
"I will never going to do that especially when you are the only one who can handle me. Stop crying, Lili. I hate seeing you crying." I wiped my tears using the back of my hand.
I was about to remove myself on top of her when she suddenly grab me by nape and pulled me closer to her.
"W-what are you doing?" I stuttered.
"Revenge and continuing what Jisoo ruin earlier." She smirked.
"What exactly did she rui—?"I didn't continue what my sentence when she cutted me off by her lips.
Her lips are against mine and her arms are around my neck. I felt her lips starting to move and she slightly bit my lower lip like asking me to open my mouth which I did.
She deepened the kiss and started exploring my mouth.
We are kissing under the beautiful full moon, me on top of her and she underneath me.
What the fuck?! We are kissing in the middle of the forest!
