TW: Cursing + Suicide (Dazai)
SW: Yokohama Gangster Paradise (Yokohama Gangster Paradise pt. 1)
RI: Osamu Dazai, Doppo Kunikida, Chuuya Nakahara
"Now then, you mentioned wanting to request an investigation but what manner of investigation are we speaking of here?" Junichiro questioned, flipping through a few documents as a blonde woman who looked to be in her twenties listened patiently and politely from her seat. She was the agency's new client, and we were currently finding out more about the job she requested us to do.
Before the client could speak however, Dazai walked up to her and got on one knee before caressing her hand gently. He exclaimed dramatically, "so beautiful! You remind me of a lotus blossom: all at once elegant and ephemeral."
"Oh dear god," you mumbled, rubbing your temples. "Not again... he does this with me and every client, it's as if it's his greeting to people he finds attractive."
Atsushi cast a shocked and worried glance in your direction before looking back at the man who was still busy flirting with the client.
You slightly noticed his slender hands slipping something into her pocket, but you decided not to mention it. As he did this, he asked, "would you care to join me in a double suici-"
Kunikida got to him before he could get to the girl. With one punch from his partner, Dazai was sent tumbling across the room. The now incredibly confused client muttered, "huh?"
With a sigh, Kunikida started walking over to Dazai. "Allow me to apologize for the distraction," he calmly stated as he wicked up the suicide fanatic and opened up the door to the closet. "Please, continue on. I'll take care of this." After he finished his words, the closet door eerily shut behind him. A few seconds later, they heard shouting, slapping, and punching coming from the room. You could hear Kunikida's voice boom, "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?"
"Please let me expand a little on my request," the client continued, completely unfazed after what happened.
"O-oh... okay," Junichiro muttered, "of course."
"You see, there's recently been a group of seedy-looking individuals loitering in the back alley of my company building," she explained.
Seeing as Junichiro, Naomi, and Atsushi seemed almost too shocked and embarrassed to respond, you spoke up and asked, "could you elaborate on that?"
"They wear clothes that are very old and tattered and I heard some of them speak in a foreign language. None of us can identify it," she described.
Suddenly, you heard the closet door reopen again and Kunikida shouted, "if I had to guess, I'd say they sound a lot like smugglers." Behind him, at his feet, was a dazed Dazai, his hand outstretched towards the agents as if that was his desperate last attempt to save himself from Kunikida's beating. The door slowly shut behind Kunikida once more though and Dazai vanished from everyone's view. "They're unavoidable in a port town like this one and with their numbers the police can't do much to stop them."
"You're right," the client agreed, "if we had empirical evidence of their activities we could shut them down for good. That's why..."
"You want us to get that evidence for you," Kunikida guessed, "right?" He then turned to Atsushi and declared, "hey, kid. You're on point."
"WHAAAAAA-?"
"Relax, it'll just be a simple stakeout job. Smugglers are rarely violent. So you just need to keep watch in case they try to make a break for it," Kunikida reasoned, "it's really the perfect first job for a rookie."
"Yeah, but-"
"Junichiro and (Y/N)," Kunikida added, "you two can accompany him."
That caused Naomi to leap forward and wrap her arms around her big brother's neck, strangling him for what seemed like the hundredth time today. She sang, "if my big brother's going, then there's no way I'm staying behind~!"
"Sorry, but I can't go," you explained to Kunikida. You showed him the time on your watch and continued, "I'm already eighteen minutes late for my cafe job and it takes around fifteen minutes for me to walk there. I don't want to keep the customer Atsushi mentioned earlier waiting. He's not the most patient type of person."
Kunikida, being ever so obsessed with schedule and routine, seemed to express a small bit of annoyance, anger, and possibly jealousy for a second. A moment later though it was washed off his face as he muttered, "fine. Tell your sister I said hi."
"Of course! Thanks Kunikida!" You shouted happily as you grabbed your coat and bag and started running out of the door.
"There's no need to thank me," he muttered under his breath so that none of the other agents could hear him. And I wouldn't mind it if you called me by my first name sometime...

You panted as you reached the cafe in record time: only eight minutes late. As you neared the cafe, you could see your sister arguing with a familiar customer who seemed to be anxious and worried.
Once you neared the store, you could hear some of the conversation coming from within due to an open window. The customer was yelling, "I don't get it! This is so unlike them to be late... Do you know where they are? Wait... what if they're in trouble? I swear if anyone laid a finger on them I'd fucking murder them..."
As you pushed open the door, the bell above rang and signaled your arrival. "Chuuya," you called out, "please stop harassing my sister."
"(Y/N)," the redhead turned to the door and sighed in relief before returning to his usual attitude and asking, "where the fuck were you?"
CHUUYA NAKAHARA
INFORMATION: UNKNOWN
LIKES: HATS, FIGHTS, BOOZE, MUSIC
"Work went longer than I expected it to go," you explained before turning to your sister and adding, "I'll take over the shift now. Thanks for covering for me little sister."
"Next time don't be so late," she complained, marching to the back room and up the stairs to their home the cafe was connected to. "He stinks! I still ship it though!"
You shouted back, "shut up or I swear I'll put a dead beetle in your coffee!"
Chuuya had to hold in a small chuckle as you argued with your sister. He really did have a soft spot in his heart for you.
"(Y/N) and Chuuya sitting in a tree," your sister chanted back at you, "K-I-S-S-I-N-G. First comes love, then comes marriage-"
"Then comes the death of (Y/N)'s annoying little sister," you shouted back. You two constantly had fights like this, but Chuuya knew that it was all meant for fun and neither of you meant it. Well, actually, your sister meant half of the things she said. After a discussion with her, Chuuya had learned that she did ship you and him.
"So," you exclaimed, turning to your favorite customer, "what would you like today, Chuuya?"
"Just the usual," Chuuya responded, walking over to a table and sitting down. He took his fedora off and set it down before noticing you staring at him. He cocked an eyebrow at you and asked, "what's the matter?"
"I'm sorry," you apologized before turning to start making his coffee and chuckling, "I just can never get over how short you are."
"HEY! YOU BASTARD! I'LL GET TALLER SOME DAY! JUST YOU WAIT AND SEE!"
"Sorry, sorry!" You laughed as you prepared his drink. "So how was your day?"
He sighed and answered, "horrible, like always. People can be such jerks sometimes, y'know?"
"If you really don't like your job so much, how about you quit it?" You asked despite not knowing what his job was. The one thing you two hadn't told each other yet were your jobs. You also didn't tell him about your ability or anyone who could be connected to the Armed Detective Agency. You might've been close, but you wanted to take precautions just in case so you didn't scare him off.
"I can't," he explained, "plus I actually do like it sometimes. It's just that people in general usually tend to be annoying and some work my boss gives me can sometimes be very boring. At least this one guy who was a major league asshole left a year or two ago." After a few seconds of thinking, he added, "oh, by the way, have you seen the trailer for that new dog movie coming out?"
Once you finished making his coffee, you walked over to his table and set it down next to his fedora before sitting in the chair across from him. "There you go again," you giggled, "always talking about puppies. Are you ever going to get a real dog?"
"Maybe," he responded truthfully, taking a long sip of his coffee after.
"What would you name it?"
"I'm not sure," Chuuya admitted, "but if I really had to choose... I'd probably name it after you. Then again, it would be weird to name a dog after my crush."
"Hm?" You questioned, tilting your head to the side in confusion. "What do you mean by that?"
Chuuya stared into your (E/C) eyes lovingly and, contrasting his usual rough tone of voice, softly spoke, "(Y/N) (L/N), would you like to go on a real date with me? Outside of the cafe?"
With a gasp, you exclaimed, "yes, of course! Chuuya, I-"
"Chuuya?" You snapped your fingers in front of his face, taking him out of his thoughts. "Is it seriously that hard to think of a name?"
"N-no, I just-," Chuuya began until he sighed, "nevermind. I have to go."
"Well, that was quick," you chuckled as he quickly grabbed his fedora and walked out. "Goodbye, Chuuya! Don't get into any trouble and don't drink too much!"
"Farewell, (Y/N)," he responded, placing his hat on top of his head and walking out. "Have a nice day."
What could I do, he thought, there's no way they like me in that way. There's no hope for this love in the future. So why can't I get rid of these dumb feelings?

(A/N): Hello everyone!! I hope you enjoyed the fourth chapter! I must admit though that I feel like I didn't do Chuuya's character well enough even though he is my favorite anime character up to date. Also, sorry about how short the chapter was. I wasn't really feeling that inspired while writing this to be honest.
Shoutout to all of the Chuuya simps who are currently denying the existence of Chapter 101
Please tell me I'm not the only one
Also by the way I only recently started reading Stormbringer so I promise I'll try to incorporate his backstory a bit in the future into this fanfiction.
Weekly song recommendation: "Body and Mind" by girl in red
Anyways, I hope you all enjoy the story and don't forget to vote, comment, and maybe follow if you really liked it!
Everyone have a splendiferous day/night!!
