She couldn't believe how the bots and even Sari were acting around her. They were so much protective of her now, and they were always worried for the littlest action she made. Right now Optimus was currently in his altmode as a full on firetruck instead of his regular semi trailer, for some reason he was always shifting between the two different forms. They were taking her with them, while she sat on Prowl's alt mode, due to being unable to comfortably fit inside of the other's altmodes. They were looking for an allspark fragment, in the process it was also dark out and night.
"This is a waste of time. We're never gonna find that Allspark fragment." Bumblebee mumbled behind them as they drove along the highway.
"We should at least try, Bumblebee. Not only do we need to prevent the Decepticons from getting them, they are also helping me out in the process." Julie replied as she turned and looked at him.
"Julie is correct. The signal is coming from this sector, and if we can track it, so can the Decepticons." Optimus replied. They continued driving down the highway, before they found several cars speeding past them, along with some sort of robotic cameras flying above them in the process.
"What's their hurry?" Ratchet cried as they saw the cars take off.
"Hey, I know those cars. They're street demons. Me and Sari watch them race on TV all the time." Bulkhead replied as she sat there watching the cars ahead of them.
"Amatures, I'll show them a real street demon." Bumblebee replied as she sped up toward them.
"Bumblebee, I don't think that is a good idea." Julie cried, only being ignored. She merely sighed as she sat there on Prowl as they continued going down the highway, seeing Bumblebee and the cars disappear from view. As they pulled up, the bots instantly transformed along with her hovering next to them as she saw several cars all crashed and destroyed along the road.
"That's not good." Julie cried. "I can't get into the cars because of the iron. If you guys can get them out, I can help tend to the wounded."
"Understood." Prowl replied, next to her as the bots went to help get the people out of the vehicles. Luckily she had some of both energon and water on her this time. She now carried two bottles that she had hooked up to a newly made belt along her waist. So if she ever needed something, she had it easily on hand.
"So, you wanna drag, do ya?" Bumblebee asked on the comlinks, obviously still racing with one of the cars, or more of them.
"Not now, those drivers need help." Optimus replied, as he was clearly annoyed.
"But I can catch this guy." Bumblebee cried.
Optimus sprayed down the fires, as she watched the bots tear open the roofs of the cars, in order to better access the passengers.
"Think calm thoughts." Prowl spoke next to one of the cars.
"And don't move." Ratchet replied afterwards as they looked at a woman who was in a small, purple race car. Prowl instantly tore open the roof of the car with his ninja star, and Ratchet pulled the girl out by her seat as he used his magnetics.
As soon as the girl was set down, Julie formed a small patch of ice for her to sit on, as the girl was set in front of her.
"Hello, miss. Let me make sure you're not injured too badly." Julie spoke as she laid a hand on the woman's shoulder.
"Who are you?" The woman cried, obviously scared.
"I am someone who is gonna help treat your trauma." Julie replied as she slowly laid her hand on the girl's head. "You got a small concussion, but I think it would be wise to see some doctors to give you some simple meds. It's nothing too severe, but you may get dizzy spells and feel tired."
"Thank you." The woman replied, before the sound of sirens approached them, making her turn around to find Captain Fanzone and a few other humans with him.
"You mean a prison ward, matter of fact, I am arresting both of these rocket jockeys." Captain Fanzone cried.
"Let me look at the other man first, I understand racing isn't allowed in some areas, but they still should have their injuries tended to at least." Julie spoke up as she flew up toward the Captain as the woman was led to a police car.
"Very well." Captain Fanzone replied as the man was hooked up on a medical bed, where she quickly checked him over, before sighing.
"He has a much more severe concussion than the woman, and it seems he may need more treatment." Julie replied, before turning and rejoining the group.
"Thank you." Captain Fanzone replied, before turning to the bots. "I've been after them for weeks. They're part of an underground racing circuit." Captain Fanzone explained as she hovered next to the group.
"You mean they race in tunnels?" Bulkhead asked. Captain Fanzone was about to reply, before Julie interrupted.
"No, Bulkhead. It happened in my homeworld as well. It means they are hiding while breaking the rules. Certain areas are unallowed to be raced in, because it risks the safety of the drivers, the public, and even can damage property to the city. Some people have actual tracks and areas where they are allowed to race, but because these guys were racing on highways, that is not allowed."
"Underground as in illegal, as in they race in the streets and don't care who gets hurt." Captain Fanzone replied, agreeing with her in the process.
"That's not what Sari told me." Bulkhead replied, before looking away.
"Than we should make sure she understands that what she is supporting is wrong and doesn't in turn end up affecting her own behavior." Julie commented, before Optimus walked forward.
"What purpose does this street race serve?" Optimus asked.
"What else? They get a couple of million pay-per-view customers for their pirate broadcast, then it's caching, caching, big bucks." Captain Fanzone explained.
"Along with there being some people that usually like the thrill of the racing along with breaking the rules in the process. There are some people that find it exciting to break the rules, but it is usually just about time before they have karma catching up with them." Julie replied.
The honking of a car was heard approaching them, before they saw Bumblebee transform and collapse on the ground. Obviously panting from racing after someone.
"Hey, try to nail they guy in the blue car, did ya?" Captain Fanzone asked as he looked at Bee.
"How'd ya know?" Bumblebee asked, as Julie chuckled at the situation. "Guess you're not the fastest thing on wheels." Julie commented, earning a small, weak glare from Bee, which made her burst in laughter instead of scare her. "We should head back to the base, get poor Bee to recover from his nice little race he had going on." Julie spoke up.
"You mean so I will be able to race better after that car, then heck yeah." Bumblebee cried.
"Autobots, transform and roll out." Optimus cried, as they all instantly shifted and she landed on top of Prowl who had been nice enough for a while now to let her ride on him.
"I'm willing to wager that Bumblebee is gonna try to persuade Optimus and Ratchet to let him use the boosters again." Julie spoke as she looked at Prowl, as they went back to the base.
"I believe you may be right." Prowl replied as they saw the base up ahead. Pulling into the base, Julie flew off of him, just before Bumblebee shifted and took off running to where they kept his jet boosters in a small box, near the monitors. All the other bots, except for Bulkhead, follow after him. Including her flying over to join them.
"Bumblebee, I am telling you, no. You cannot use those boosters." Ratchet cried as he had his servos on his hips, while looking at Bee who grabbed the box and opened it up to reveal the two boosters sitting inside.
"But we gotta find the blue racer." Bumblebee replied. "If I could just use my old turbo boosters."
"Not a chance, last time you used those things you nearly flattened Sari and Prime." Ratchet yelled, bringing up the memory of when Bumblebee ran over Prime. She bit her lip to avoid laughing, no it wasn't the time nor the situation.
"Bee, did you forget the lesson you learned last time? Speed isn't strength. True strength is knowledge and wisdom. You need to use your smarts, not your speed." Julie replied, as she looked down at Bee.
"That's right. Because of you messing up the plans, Julie had to get shot out of the sky in order to help us all out with the unstable Destronium." Ratchet yelled as he pointed an unapproving digit at Bee.
"It's not fair. Nothing on Earth is faster than me." Bumblebee cried as he looked away from them.
"You wanna bet? If it gets you to stop your precious little episode, I can list at least quite a few things off the top of my head, that I know are several times faster than you." Julie threatened as she looked at him.
"No, don't you dare." Bumblebee cried.
"Rockets, jets, trains...."
"I said don't" Bumblebee yelled as he turned and looked at her. "I am the fastest thing on Earth on wheels."
"Did you forget about trains?" She asked as she looked at him, clearly annoyed.
"I said I should be the fastest thing on wheels, unless....he's not from Earth." Bumblebee cried as he turned and looked at Optimus. "We should have Julie check him to see if he has any Cybertronian energy, or if she senses him with life. Think about it, only a Decepticon can be that fast."
"Perhaps, but why didn't it attack us? Why did it just run a couple of organics off the road." Prowl asked.
"I have known of some Decepticons that found the thrill in racing. If it truly was a Decepticon, it coulda been they wanted to keep their existence unknown, as well as were cheating to win the race." Julie replied. "Though I don't know if this would be a Decepticon I know based on the design. The one con I knew that loved racing was named Knockout and he loved to be flashy red."
"In any case, we can't have you causing more accidents with your turbo boosters." Optimus replied, leaving Bumblebee glaring and disappointed.
"Prime, even if you tell him not to, he is gonna end up doing it anyway." Julie spoke as she looked at Bee. "As young as Bee is and as reckless as he can be."
"Hey, I'm not reckless." Bumblebee cried as he turned and looked at her.
"I am warning you right now, do not use your turbo boosters." Optimus spoke up.
Feeling the instinct, she watched as Bumblebee left, before sighing.
Sitting with Ratchet, she found Bumblebeee, Bulkhead, and Sari coming back looking a little beat up as Ratchet, Optimus and Prowl saw them at the entrance of the base, before they all went to the main room where Bumblebee and Sari sat by the couch with them all surrounding them.
"I think we can all agree that this device and its allspark fragments are best kept in a safe place." Optimus spoke after they explained how they went racing even after being told not to. Along with having learned that Bumblebee had also reused his turbo boosters all over again. Finding out they destroyed Captain Fanzone's car, captured the criminal who was leading the races and also had fought against Blitzwing.
"And I promise, from now on, no one gets to bend the rules." Sari replied.
"Um, yeah. While we're on that subject." Bumblebee spoke up, while rubbing the back of his helm. "I think there is something that we should take care of." Getting up and walking out of the room with Sari.
Julie merely sighed as she saw them leave, while she sat on Ratchet's shoulder in the process.
