I remembered what Kay had told me: "Pearl's pregnant - and due any week now."
Footsteps rushed up the stairs, and there was Amara.
I just stared at her.
She shook her head. "Pearl's giving birth?"
I nodded. "What do we do?"
She smiled. "I've helped plenty of the woodland animals give birth before. I've got this." After a moment, she added, " I would love your help though."
I nodded. "What do you need me to do?"

An hour later, Amara and I had already cleaned up.
We were leaning on the stall door, watching Pearl nuzzle the small white drake.
"He's so cute." Amara breathed.
"I know." I sighed happily. "What are you going to name him?"
She tilted her head. "I don't know. What do you think?"
I was shocked that she was asking me. "Oh... I mean, I personally think he looks like a Blizzard."
She nodded, looking at him. "Yeah... you're right. Blizzard!"
The little dragon's ears twitched, and he poked his head up, looking around in confusion.
Amara and I laughed.
"So..." I said after a few moments of blissful silence, "I know I've been unreasonable. I've been acting like a jerk, and I'm sorry for that. Friends?"
She shook her head. "Not friends. Sisters."
It was my turn to shake my head. "Not sisters."
Her smile fell.
"Twins." I finished, a smirk playing on my lips.
"Twins." She grinned, and pulled me into a hug.

I want to *again* draw it out.
