Soobin, Yeonjun, Beomgyu, and Kai were all panicking.
"He's not answering his phone!" Beomgyu said as he slammed his own phone down.
"Shit what do we do!?" Yeonjun asked tugging at his hair.
"We gotta call someone! Taehyun and Y/N are in danger!" Kai looked at Soobin.
Suddenly, Soobin's phone began to ring. He pulled it out of his back pocket as his eyes widened. "Someone's calling! It might be Taehyun!"
"Huh? Why'd he call you? I've called him like seventeen times!" Beomgyu shouted.
Soobin rolled his eyes and pressed the answer button. "Taehyun is that you? Are you okay? Where's Y/N? Is she with you?" Soobin put the phone on speaker.
With Taehyun:
Taehyun held the hotel phone up to his ear. "We're fine Soobin." He turned to see Y/N coming out of the bathroom in a new pair of clothes and wet hair.
He reached over and pressed the speaker button the phone pad before motioning for Y/N to come over.
"I'm glad. Chase escaped, we have no idea how he did it." Soobin said as Y/N stood beside Taehyun with her arms crossed.
"Yeah we know. He attacked us." Y/N replied.
"Where are you guys? Beomgyu tried calling your phone."
Taehyun sighed. "They took all our stuff. The whole room is destroyed. We're at the Ube hotel."
"I'll get Kai to send a car for you two."
"Thanks Soobin, see you in a bit." Taehyun ended the call.
Y/N looked over at the clock that was next to the bed. It was 8 at night. She sat down on the bed.
"Are you feeling any better?" Taehyun asked looking at her.
Y/N nodded. "A hot shower did me good. Just tired." She mumbled laying back.
Taehyun only nodded as he looked forward. Three hours passed and the car finally arrived.
Y/N was fast asleep due to how exhausted she was.
Taehyun carefully picked her and took her out to the lobby then to the parking lot. He placed her inside the car and buckled her seatbelt before hopping into the seat next to her.
She slept the whole car ride which was another three hours back to campus.
Taehyun fought his tiredness as the car finally stopped. Y/N slowly opened her eyes as she yawned. Taehyun looked at her before getting out of the car and going over to her passenger side door. He opened the door and held his hand out for her. Y/N took it as he gently pulled her onto the ground.
The two walked to the boy's dorm. Taehyun knocked on the door as Beomgyu let in the tired humans.
The others walked over as Taehyun led Y/N over to the couch before they sat. Their eyes were a bit red due to the tiredness.
Y/N glanced at the clock that was in the kitchen and saw it was 2 in the morning.
"Are you sure you guys don't want to rest?" Soobin asked as Taehyun shook his head.
"There's too much to discuss." He said looking at Y/N who was surprisingly quiet.
Yeonjun crossed his arms. "Well I'm assuming you saw Chase."
Taehyun nodded his head. "We were going to film at a village set when the set was attacked. They shot the director and I'm assuming any other crew that was there."
Kai nodded along. "Then what?"
Taehyun sighed. "I don't remember much after that. Y/N and I ran for cover then I got shot with a tranquilizer dart. Last thing I heard was Y/N screaming."
Y/N's head perked up hearing her name.
The other boys looked at her for more information but Taehyun shot them a look to lay off since she was tired.
"Where was Chase?" Beomgyu asked.
"I woke up in the original studio we were in then Chase approached me. He took me to Y/N and then fighting broke out."
Taehyun furrowed his brows. "But he mentioned something odd. He said that he couldn't kill me because he needed something from me."
Kai looked at Soobin before turning back to Taehyun. "We might've found out what that something was." He said before getting up and grabbing his laptop.
Taehyun looked at him and as Kai walked over and handed the laptop to him. Taehyun's tired eyes scanned over the screen before they widened.
"The 'unanimous' source that Yuka has been stealing money from is one of the twin accounts." Soobin said.
Taehyun clicked a few times on the thumb pad to examine the bank transaction that had the original account number.
"Kai get me the first transaction we had on file."
Kai nodded and quickly got the document as he handed it to Taehyun.
Just as Taehyun suspected, everything was the same expect the account number. He sighed and closed the laptop before handing it back to Kai.
"I can't believe I was so blind!" Taehyun sighed as he laid back.
Y/N turned to him and said in a small voice. "What is a twin account?"
He looked at her as he sat back up. "Back late 1900s, the Korean government decided to set up two accounts called the twin accounts. One would hold money that would be distributed to the people and the other would be for military and emergency use only. Now Yuka became buddies with the national bank's president who had access to one of these accounts and emptied it for him."
Y/N was still a bit confused. "Wait so why does Yuka need you then?"
"Because Taehyun has access to other account." Yeonjun chimed in.
Y/N looked at him. "He does? Taehyun has access to one of the largest bank accounts in Korea?" She couldn't help but snicker a little. She may be tired but she still had some spunk to her speech.
Taehyun gave a small glare towards her. "Yes in fact I do. But now it seems Yuka wants the money from that account as well." He sighed.
"Well you have the access don't you? Don't give it to him. Easy peezy lemon squeezy." Y/N said making Taehyun roll his eyes.
"It's not that easy love. I'm not the only one with access. Korea's top leaders and my dad all can access the account." Taehyun replied making Y/N fum in her seat.
"Well jeez you could've mentioned that earlier." She snapped.
"Wait why doesn't the bank's president have access to the account?" Beomgyu asked Taehyun.
"It was a decision made by the higher up. They didn't want anyone have access to both accounts in case something happened."
"This still doesn't explain why they tried to eliminate you before." Soobin added.
Taehyun thought about it. "That's true. If they need me why try to kill me?"
"Maybe they didn't know they needed you until later on." Y/N suddenly said as she rubbed her red eyes.
"She's a got point. Anyway I think you guys should rest." Yeonjun said as he left the room.
Taehyun nodded as he turned to Y/N. "You should sleep here tonight."
Y/N wanted to retaliate but decided that listening to him for once wouldn't be that bad of an idea. Her tired gaze met his as she nodded. "Okay."
The other boys left the their rooms. Taehyun stayed with Y/N for a bit as she leaned her head against the arm rest.
"You know I can kick Beomgyu out. Then you can have the room to yourself." Taehyun whispered.
Y/N didn't respond. Her body was limp and fast asleep.
Taehyun sighed and before getting up and laying her tired body down on the couch. He covered with a blanket before going to his room.
He laid awake replaying the events that happened. A smile wandered onto his face as he remembered the kiss he and Y/N shared.
Even though that day was awful, one good thing came from it.
The Next Day:
Taehyun and Y/N slept in to fully recover their strength.
Soobin and Kai tricked Yeonjun and Beomgyu into coming with them to buy some groceries so they wouldn't be in the dorm while Taehyun and Y/N slept.
It was nearing 12 when Y/N and Taehyun got up.
Y/N yawned as her eyes opened. She sat up and looked around as she rubbed her head.
Taehyun walked into the living room where she was. "Glad to see you awake."
She turned to him and gave a small smile. "Glad I'm awake too. Where are the others?"
Taehyun let out a small laugh. "Soobin left a note that he was taking the others grocery shopping, Yeonjun and Beomgyu hate shopping,"
Y/N laughed as well. "So we're alone."
Taehyun walked over to the kitchen and began making a coffee. "Yup."
Y/N bit the inside of the her cheek. Her mind wandered to the confession and the kiss. Her face heated up.
Taehyun made two cups of coffee and walked over to her. "Coffee?" He offered one of the cups.
Y/N looked at him before giving a small thanks and taking the cup. She took a sip before making a face and spitting some out. "Ew what did you put in this!
Taehyun smirked and drank and his coffee. "Salt."
Y/N spit the rest of the coffee out. "Salt!?" She set the cup down and grabbed a pillow before smacking him with it. "Why the fuck did you put salt in my coffee!?"
Taehyun set his cup down as he grabbed the pillow from her. "For what you did to me yesterday."
Y/N crossed her arms. "What exactly did I do yesterday?"
Taehyun's smirk got wider. "You wacked me with your little tripod after our kiss."
Y/N's face heated up even more. She tried to play it cool. "Pfft you still remember that."
Taehyun nodded. "Yeah, I do. Surprisingly it was pretty enjoyable."
"Surprisingly? Kissing me is a blessing you'll never experience ever again."
Taehyun leaned close and glanced down at her lips. "You sure about that?"
Y/N rolled her eyes before grabbing the pillow and hitting him again. "Back off Romeo. Just because I like you doesn't mean I'm kissing you again."
Taehyun laughed. "Fine, but I was thinking...we should go on a date?"
Y/N tilted her head. "A date?"
Taehyun shrugged. "Yeah somewhere to relax and have fun."
Y/N smiled as she looked away. "I'd like that."
Taehyun looked at her as he smiled back. "So it's a date then." He stood up as Y/N looked back at him.
"But where would we even go?" She asked.
"I'll think of something. I'll let you know." He winked before taking both coffee cups back to the kitchen.
Y/N got up and followed him. "So what are we going to do about all our stuff?"
Taehyun put the cups in the sink and turned the water on. "I'll have Beomgyu pick up two new phones. I could take you shopping for some clothes if you want."
Y/N shook her head. "That's alright. I didn't pack much anyway."
Taehyun nodded and cleaned out the cups before setting them aside to air dry.
"I should've asked at the hotel but you weren't hurt too badly right?"
Y/N shook her head. "Not this time." She said with a small smile on her lips. "My head hurts if I move it too fast but other than that I'm fine. What about you?"
Taehyun flexed his arms. "I'm all good. Glad we made it out without any major injuries."
"Yeah I doubt the hospital wanted to see your hideous face again." She smirked.
Taehyun rolled his eyes. "Haha very funny. You know I thought after you confessed you'd be nicer to me."
Y/N placed her hand on his shoulder. "Well then you'll be sadly mistaken." She slipped her hand off.
"I should let Sunghoon know what's going on." Y/N said as Taehyun nodded in agreement.
Y/N walked over to the door as she turned the knob. She didn't open it however. Instead she looked towards Taehyun.
"Taehyun."
He turned to her. "Yeah?"
She smiled. "Thanks for having my back."
Taehyun smiled back. "Of course."
Y/N turned back to the door before leaving to find Sunghoon.
Later that Day:
"So Yuka has been stealing from one of the twin accounts?" Sunghoon said as Y/N sighed with a nod.
"Yeah, we figured it all out last night." The girl mumbled.
She met up with Sunghoon at the cafe they previously visited.
"It just doesn't make sense. Why would someone like Yuka need the money from those accounts?" Y/N questioned taking a sip from drink.
Sunghoon shrugged. "I have no idea. But are you sure you're okay? I mean this is like the millionth time you've almost died."
Y/N placed her elbow on the table and leaned her head against her palm. "I'm fine. Just wish I'd stop getting hit in the head! I'm going to end up with a concussion again."
Sunghoon made a face. "I think you already have."
Y/N rolled her eyes. "Whatever." She picked up her drink and sipped some more before putting it back down. "I have something else to tell you."
Sunghoon furrowed his brows and took a sip of his coffee. "Hm?"
Y/N sat up as she took a deep breath. "I kissed Taehyun."
Sunghoon spat out some of his coffee. "You kissed-mmph!"
"Shhh! I don't want people to know I like that loser!" She hissed removing her hand from his mouth.
"Wha- how- what even happened!?" Sunghoon asked.
"After we stopped fighting, we went to find Chase but couldn't. Then I just had these feelings and practically blurted it out that I like him. Then we kissed." Y/N sighed. "He asked me out on a date and I said yes."
"Well that's good. You dragged out telling him along enough." Sunghoon smiled.
Y/N gave a small smile back. "I guess you're right about something. But I don't think now is the best time to be dating."
"Why's that?"
Y/N made a face. "Sunghoon, we are literally at the climax of this Yuka situation! We have much more to focus on now."
Sunghoon frowned. "Whatever. So where are you going for your date?"
Y/N shrugged. "I don't know yet. Taehyun said he'd let me know."
"Well make sure to tell me all about your date. I want details. Even if you kiss I wanna know-"
Y/N slapped her hand over his mouth. "I think I'll pass on the details." She retracted her hand
"Little baby Y/N is finally growing up~" Sunghoon teased.
Y/N wasn't amused as she got up and kicked his leg before walking out.
"OW! Hey wait for me!" He called out while limping.
With Taehyun:
When Soobin and the others arrived back at the dorm, he informed Taehyun that his father wanted to speak with him.
Taehyun was currently just arriving at the Kang mansion.
"Let's get this over with." Taehyun grumbled before getting out of the car.
He ran a hand through his hair as he approached the doors.
Two guards let him in. Taehyun walked through the halls to his dad's office.
He was let in once again by the guards stationed at the door.
"You wanted to see me?" Taehyun asked crossing his arms.
Mr. Kang looked up and took off his glasses. "Have a seat."
"I'll stand." Taehyun said firmly.
Mr. Kang rolled his eyes. "I gave you firm orders to not engage in this case. And what do I find out? You've been partying around with Yuka members!"
Taehyun glared coldly at his father. "Seems like you're misinformed."
"Oh please drop the attitude Taehyun." Mr. Kang sat back in his chair.
"My friend and I were attacked first, we engaged in nothing but self defense." Taehyun replied.
Mr. Kang raised a brow, however he didn't seem sympathetic for his mistake.
Taehyun unfolded his arms and slammed them on his desk. "Does that bother you father? Are you disturbed by the fact that your dead beat son isn't the problem for once?"
"You're not seriously trying to bring up this nonsense again are you? I was doing what any good father would've done." Mr. Kang crossed his arms.
Taehyun rolled his eyes. "You punished me for the mistakes of my mother, no good father does that." He spat.
Mr. Kang straightened up. "What do you want Taehyun? It's clear you want something, otherwise you wouldn't bring your mother into this."
"Unground me." He said simply,
Mr. Kang scoffed. "Unground you? But you've barely uncovered anything-"
"I solved everything last night." Taehyun said coldly. "Now don't make me repeat myself."
"You figured everything out? Really then what have you discovered." Mr. Kang pressed for more information.
"You'll find out soon enough." Taehyun said which made his father scoff.
"Fine then, if you want to be ungrounded I grant it. But I expect a full report of everything soon."
Taehyun turned around. "Whatever." He said coldly before leaving.
Back at the Campus:
Taehyun back to his dorm. Beomgyu got the phones he requested which was great.
Currently needing some fresh air, Taehyun ventured outside towards the female dorms to give Y/N her phone.
However, he found her in the small garden area outside. She was sitting on the ledge of the fountain, watching the water.
Taehyun smiled softly before approaching her slowly. He carefully moved his face beside hers.
"Enjoying yourself?" He asked which startled her.
"Ah!" She nearly fell into the water.
Taehyun grabbed her hand and pulled her back before she plunged into the fountain.
"Jeez Taehyun can't you approach me like a normal person!?" She asked, a cute glare on her features.
Taehyun laughed. "S-sorry." He continued laughing, "I can't resist at times." He calmed himself and took a seat next to her.
"Beomgyu got the phones." He handed Y/N hers.
Y/N smiled. "Thank you." She stuffed it into her pocket.
"So any ideas for our date?" She asked looking over at him.
Taehyun gave her a sly smile. "Actually I was thinking we could go to the fair."
"The fair?" Y/N gave a small laugh. "Sounds like fun to me."
Taehyun reached over and squeezed her hand. "I'll pick you up later." He let go and stood up.
Y/N tilted her head. "You're leaving so soon?"
Taehyun smirked. "Yeah, why don't want me to leave love?"
Y/N rolled her eyes. "Don't flatter yourself." She got up. "I'm just saying you could stay a little longer."
Taehyun walked over to her and leaned close to her face. "Fine, I can stay."
Y/N felt small against him. "Your choice."
Taehyun reached up and traced her bottom lip with his thumb.
Y/N's lips parted before she moved back. "Let's cut the sexual tension shall we?"
Taehyun smirked. "Why did I make you nervous?" He remarked.
Y/N smirked back before going over and acting like she was going to kiss him. Instead she reached around and grabbed something.
Taehyun's eyes widened as Y/N pulled away and smiled innocently at him.
"Tell you what. I'll forgive your little comment if-" She pulled out his wallet. "You buy me something sweet."
"You're a little thief huh." Taehyun chuckled. "Alright, but I better get something sweet later."
Later that Evening:
Y/N had changed into something for her date. She took a look in the mirror one last time before exiting her dorm.
Taehyun had messaged her to meet him at the college's entrance.
She walked over and saw Taehyun standing there wearing black pants with a white dress shirt tucked into them.
He turned around and gave a small smile. "You look nice."
Y/N crossed her arms. "I always look nice."
"Sure whatever floats your boat. Now are you ready to go on our date?" He asked extending his hand.
Y/N glanced down at it for a moment before nodding. "Yeah." She grabbed his hand as he led her over to a black car that was waiting for them.
He opened her door and let her crawl inside before going in after her. Taehyun gave a nod to the driver who started the car and drove off.
After about an hour, the driver pulled off and parked at the entrance to the fair.
Taehyun and Y/N got out before looking at the bright lights and fair rides.
"I haven't been here since I was a kid." Y/N mumbled before turning to Taehyun.
Taehyun looked at her before giving a small smile. "Well let's go then."
The two ventured into the fair grounds. They played a few mini games and won a few prizes. Y/N won a squirrel and Taehyun won a penguin.
Y/N had a huge smile plastered on her face the whole time.
Taehyun couldn't contain his smile either seeing her so carefree.
"Hey let's go to the ferris wheel." Y/N suggested after getting off a dropper ride.
Taehyun held his to stomach. "Just give me a second to recover from the last ride."
Y/N crossed her arms and glared at him. "Stop being a baby, let's go." She unfolded her arms and grabbed his hand.
She grabbed him over to the ferris wheel where they got on pretty quickly due to a short line.
Y/N and Taehyun climbed inside before the worker closed the bar across their laps.
It was late, but the lights from the rides lit up the area nicely.
The ride started as Y/N looked around. They stopped frequently to let other passengers on.
Taehyun glanced over at her. She was busy admiring the land below them.
"Hey Y/N."
She turned to him and tilted her head. "Yeah?"
Taehyun gave a soft smile as he stretched his arm and let it rest behind her. "Thanks for everything."
Y/N made a face. "You're thanking me?"
"Yeah. I didn't think you'd be any help when you joined, but you've proven me wrong."
Y/N smirked and playfully punched his side. "Glad I did."
Taehyun smirked back as they began to lean in.
Then the ride stopped.
"Huh?" Y/N pulled away and looked around. "We stopped."
Taehyun began looking around as well. "They aren't letting people on." He noticed they were at the tippy top of the ferris wheel.
Y/N leaned over Taehyun's lap to look out his side. She noticed a rush of men speed walking over to the ferris wheel.
"What the-"
"Y/N watch out!" Taehyun pulled her back just in time as a shot fired right in her direction.
"Okay what is going on!?" She shouted looking at Taehyun with wide eyes.
Taehyun quickly looked down to see a familiar figure in the crowd. People began screaming and fleeing.
"It's Chase!"
"Chase!? You've got to be fucking kidding me!" Y/N cursed. She tried to push up on the bar. "What are we going to do!?"
Taehyun opened his mouth to answer as more shots fired at their cart.
Y/N held the sides of their cart tightly as everything rattled.
"I thought they weren't going to kill you!?" Y/N shouted as she reached out and held the bar.
"Guess they changed their mind." Taehyun replied as he and Y/N both ducked their heads.
A shot hit the edge of the bar on Y/N's side. The binding broke making Y/N fall forward.
"Y/N!" Taehyun shouted seeing her now dangling. She gripped the bar as tightly as she could.
"Help me up you idiot!" She shouted looking down.
"This isn't the time for insults!" Taehyun hissed as he held the cart with his right arm and grabbed her with his left.
Taehyun pulled Y/N into the cart. She held onto him to not fall forward again.
Then the ride started to move again.
Both their eyes widened as they slowly began to descend forward.
Y/N looked down to see a Yuka member pushing aside a now dead worker to control the ride.
"We need to get off this ride now!" Y/N shouted.
"What! We're hundreds of feet in the air!" Taehyun shouted back.
Y/N looked over and saw two long poles connecting the cart the center of the ride. Between those poles were small bars that crisscrossed towards the center.
"We need to get on that!" Y/N said pointing to the poles.
Taehyun looked below him. "Let's hurry then!"
Y/N brought her legs onto the cart as she shakily stood up on the cart.
Taehyun watched her before looking down to see each Yuka member begin to turn their guns at her standing figure. He began to look around and noticed the poles below her.
"I'm sorry for this." He said before making the quick decision to push her out the way just as the shots began to come.
"Huh? What do you-" she screamed as she fell.
Y/N fell hard onto one of the crisscrossed bars. Just as her body began to slip, she grabbed the bar and pulled herself up.
Taehyun peered over the cart's edge to check on her. He let out a breath seeing she was okay. He stood up and jumped for the pole that was holding his cart.
"Ugh that ass!" Y/N groaned from frustration and pain. She stood on the bars before carefully navigating her way towards the middle of the ride.
"Y/N!" Taehyun shouted from above her.
She looked up and saw him. "Why did you push me!?"
Taehyun rolled his eyes. "We have more important things to focus on!" He yelled as he ran towards the middle. He jumped up and gripped the pole above him before swinging his body then flipping onto the pole.
Y/N had to be more careful walking across bars since they were crisscrossed. She made it to the middle and looked up at Taehyun.
"Taehyun!" She yelled making him look down at her. She pointed to the ground below at the men. "There's too many!"
Taehyun peered out to see what she was pointing at. "Just follow me!" He said as he began to make his way down.
Y/N carefully hid behind the poles to shield her body from the shots that were coming at her.
Taehyun made it onto her level. "We're gonna have to fight our way through it. I checked everywhere, they've got us surrounded!"
Y/N looked out to see someone right at them. "Dive!" She shouted as they both ducked. The shot hit a bar above her making it fall.
"Shit watch out!" Taehyun quickly tackled her and let the bar hit him instead.
Y/N gripped at his shirt. "Taehyun, are you okay!?"
Taehyun groaned. "Yeah I'm fine. There's way too many." He said with a pained tone.
Y/N and Taehyun rose back up just as another shot hit another bar. The bar became partially undone.
Y/N reached behind her and grabbed the pole before using that to help her kick her foot at the bar. She dropped back down and grabbed the bar before yanking it off.
"That's fine." She twisted the bar in her hand before gripping it tightly. "I'll gladly fight."
"Y/N this is serious!" Taehyun glared at her. "There has to be another way-"
"You already said they're everywhere! We have no choice." Y/N said looking at him.
Taehyun sighed. "Fine, but if there is even the slightest opportunity for you to escape, you take it." He said firmly.
"What? I'm not-"
Taehyun grabbed her arm. "Y/N, please."
Y/N's face softened as she reluctantly agreed. "Then I will."
Taehyun let go of her arm before gazing at her one more time before looking away and going down.
Y/N followed after him as they made it off the ride.
The two were met with about 50 guys holding their guns out at them. Chase emerged from the group with a wide smirk on his face.
"Ah friends so glad to see you again!"
Y/N glared at him as she pointed the bar at him.
Chase looked at the bar before her. "Disarm the girl." He ordered.
Y/N began to beat whoever tried to come near her. However, one man came to her side and yanked the bar away.
"Hey! Give that back!" She shouted going to grab it before receiving a hard blow onto her back with the bar.
Y/N fell to the floor. Her eyes squeezed shut with pain. Her hands balled into fists trying to endure the pain now in her back.
Taehyun got angry and moved so he was in front of her.
"What do you want Chase?" He asked in a low tone.
"Taehyun you know what I want. I need that little password to the other Twin account." Chase said as his smirk grew.
"I'd never give that to you." Taehyun glared. He looked at the men around. "Can't get the password if I'm dead."
Chase laughed. "Ah those weren't aimed to kill you." His twisted smirk kept getting bigger. "But they can kill her."
Suddenly, Y/N was yanked from the floor. Her back was pressed against someone's chest as gun was held to her head. Their right arm was around her throat keeping her in place as she desperately tried to get it off.
"T-Taehyun!" She choked out.
"Y/N!" Taehyun shouted going to help her.
"Ah! I don't think so." Chase said stopping him. "Either you give me the password or I'll have her head shot through."
"Taehyun!" Y/N yelled again, squirming more. "Don't do it!" She shouted desperately kicking at the dirt.
Taehyun looked between her and Chase.
"Tick-tock Kang. I'm done playing games." Chase said crossing his arms.
Taehyun looked at Y/N one last time before looking at Chase.
"Fine, you win."
