Song: whole Wide world by Recless Eric
Kai Carter (POV)
The days seem to stretch on endlessly, and my heart aches for his presence. The memories of our time together are like a balm to my soul, but they only serve to remind me of the emptiness I feel without him. I miss his touch, his voice, his laughter, and every moment without him feels like an eternity.
Okay, maybe I'm over exaggerating a bit. The last time that I saw Damien was yesterday at school, and I'll be seeing him very soon at school this morning, or even sooner if he decides to come pick me up, which I'm willing to bet my left kidney that he will.
Just thinking of Damien gave me butterflies. I can't believe that such a hot guy was willing to date me. I can only imagine how girls at school will be punching air if they learn about that news.
Damien and I have been dating for less than a week, but no one at school knows yet. Well except for Damien's friends and his brother of course. It's not that I'm scared to come out at school, I'm just not ready yet, and Damien said that he doesn't care if people know, and that he'll be happy to show me off at school, and it's all up to me.
I looked over at my desk and saw the Painting of Damien laying atop some books and papers. I smiled to myself. That's my boyfriend. How I landed him? I have no idea, but somehow I did.
I looked over at my clock and saw that if I don't get my ass moving right now, that I'll be late, so I grabbed my bag and made my way out of my room.
Thankfully, on my way down I saw no sight of my parents. I've been seeing less and less of these demon spawns lately and I'm totally here for it. Even when I spend a night out of the house they say nothing about it, because they didn't realise that I was gone in the first place.
When I was out the door, just as I expected, there was a grey cadillac parked at the side of the road. With a huge smile on my face, I walked over to the vehicle and entered the passanger side.
Before I could even put on my seat belt, Damien leaned over the centre console and kissed my lips.
"Good morning, how you're doing?"
"Much better now that I'm with you." I told him.
He laughed and ruffled my hair. "That's corny." He told me.
"Shut up," I smacked his hand away from my hair. "Do you know how long it takes to tame my hair? And now you just messed it up."
"Well I think that you look much better with messy hair, so I'm technically doing you a favour."
"Yeah, yeah. Less talking and more driving. I'm not paying you to talk." I told him jokingly.
He gave me an amused look. "You don't pay me at all."
I opened my mouth widely and clutched my chest. "The lies are getting real." I said causing Damien to laugh.
"But honestly, you know that you don't have to come pick me up all the time right?" I told him seriously.
Damien rolled his eyes at me. "Of course I do. And don't try to convince me otherwise because you'd just be wasting your breath. I do this new thing with my hearing where I filter out bullshit."
"Are you trying to say that I'm telling you bullshit?" I questioned.
"Of course not. I not trying to tell you anything, I'm telling you that trying to convince me to not pick you up is bullshit." He gave me an innocent smile.
I sighed. "Fine, but can you start driving? We're going to be late for school if you don't start moving."
Damien turned to look at me. "Do you wanna try driving today?" He asked me.
My eyes turned as wide as saucers. "So you really just woke up today and said 'fuck it, I want to die.' If I drive us to school we will be found four days later in a ditch."
Damien let out a loud laugh at my answer. "That was really funny. But I can't start driving unless you give me something." He told me.
"What do you want?" I asked curiously.
"A kiss." He said giving me an innocent smile.
That caused a bit of heat to rush up I my cheeks. I leaned over and gave him a kiss on his cheek.
"Close, but I ment on here." He said pointing to his lips.
My face heated up even more, but I leaned over to place a quick kiss on Damien's lips. When I was about to pull away, Damien placed his hands behind my neck, deepening the kiss a bit more.
"It's ten times hotter when you're the one who initiates the kiss." He mumbled against my lisps before pulling away.
"Now I have enough energy to drive." He said smiling at me as he pulled off of the side of the road, and headed in the direction of the school.

"Do you want me to carry your bag for you?" Damien asked.
"Umm , no I can carry it myself." I told him.
"Are you sure, because I really don't mind carrying it for you." He told me.
"Yes I'm sure." I told him.
"OK, would you like me to walk you to class?"
"Don't you wanna go hang out with your friends?"
"They can wait." He smiles at me and the two of us walked to my homeroom together.
When we reached outside my homeroom, Damien looked left and right before placing a quick peck on my lips. "See you at lunch time." He said before walking away.
If seemed like as soon as I entered the class, it was already lunchtime. It was as if time was trying to get away from someone, and I was totally here for it.
Soon enough, I was entering the busy cafateria. And took my seat at my usual lunch table. Our lunchtable was unusually quiet, because Juan was asleep, while Austin was typing away on his phone.
"What's wrong with him?" I asked pointing to Juan.
Austin shrugged. "He said something about staying up all night to play some game."
"Oh ok."
"You're going down." I heard Juan mumble next to me, causing me to turn to give him a confused look.
Austin chuckled. "Don't mind him."He's been talking in his sleep the minute he closed his eyes."
I laughed. "I wonder what he's dreaming about." I said loudly.
"Knowing Juan, it's definitely something stupid." Austin laughed.
"The heavens must be falling down." Said Stacy as she sat next to me. "Juan and Austin are not arguing?"
I chuckled. "That's because Juan is asleep." I told her.
"Hey, are you not going to have lunch today?" Austin asked me.
I shook my head. "No, the lines are too long, and I might not even eat the food anyway if I get it, so I'd just be wasting my time."
Austin nodded in understanding. "Good point."
"You should at least eat something." Stacy told me. "You can have half of my sandwich."
I shook my head. "Thanks, but I'm good."
"I'm going to slay you." Juan said once more causing us all to look at him.
Austin rolled his eyes. "Like hell you will. Who in their right mind will allow you to slay them?"
Stacy turned to look at Austin. "Are you seriously trying to argue with him while he's asleep?"
"What? No! I was just speaking the truth."
Stacy sighed. "Honestly, I'm not even suprised."
My attention was altered when I spotted Damien entering the cafeteria. He was having a conversation with Rob, and I couldn't help but notice the way he would furrow his eyebrows when he seemed to not understand what was being said.
Rob said something which I assumed was funny because of the way that Damien started laughing. He attracted some attention from nearby tables from his laugh, but he didn't seem to care as he continued his conversation as if nothing happened.
I then saw that he said something to Rob, and started walking in my direction with Rob hot on his heels. As soon as he saw that I was already looking at him, a smirk took over his face.
"Hey," He greeted gaining the attention of Stacy and Austin. Austin nudged me and wiggled his eyebrows, causing me to roll my eyes at him.
He placed a bowl in front of me. "I hope you're hungry because mom made shrimp pasta." He said causing Rob, who was standing next to him to gasp in suprise.
"Are you seriously going to stand here and give him food while ignoring me, even though I've been complaining about how hungry I am?" Rob complained.
"Well I was guessing that you would get your own food." Damien told him.
Rob shook his head. "Some best friend you are. And I've been at your place multiple times, why don't your mom ever make me food?" Rob questioned.
"I guess that she doesn't like you as much as she likes him." Damien said pointing at me.
"I'm pretty sure that I'm one of your mom's favourite people." Rob said.
Damien laughed. "You may be one of her favourite people, but Kai is literally her favourite person. I'm pretty sure that she likes him more than my brother and I. And let's not even talk about my father. They absolutely love him."
"Is it because you guys are dating now?" Rob said, and I heard gasps from Stacy and Austin. "Congratulations by the way." He said turning to me, but I couldn't concentrate on what he was saying because I was focused on the reactions of my friends.
"Wait what!" Stacy practically yelled gaining the attention of some near by tables.
Damien turned to look at her. "Can you keep your voice down? Kai isn't comfortable with everyone finding out right now." He said to Stacy in which she nodded in understanding. He the proceeded to snack Rob behind the head. "He didn't want anyone to know yet idiot. Can't even trust you with a secret."
Sent me an apologetic look. "Sorry about that." He told me.
I sighed. "It's ok, they knew that I was gay so it doesn't really matter."
Damien cleared his throat. "Kai, I'll see you after school yeah?" He asked and I nodded at him.
After he and Rob left, that's when the interrogation started.
"Dating?" Stacy asked.
"I knew that he was into you dude. Congratulations, all the girls at school is going to hate you now." Austin said.
"How could you not tell us that the two of you were dating? I mean I knew that something was going on between you two and you were just not telling us, but dating?" She whisper yelled.
"What did I miss?" Juan said yawning sleepily.
"Lunch, and the fact that Kai is dating Damien." Austin told him.
Juan gasped. "I told you that the guy liked you. How long?" He asked.
"Just four days now." I answered. "But please don't tell anyone, I'm not ready for people to know yet."
They nodded in understanding.
"I don't think you should be worried about us saying anything. Damien is the one that's going to blow you'll cover with the way he's looking at you right now." Austin said causing me to turn my head in the direction of where Damien was sitting. When our eyes locked, he grinned and winked at me, causing me to blush a little.
"You have to tell us everything that happened, from the beginning." Stacy said.
I sighed. "No one wants to hear that." I told her.
"I kinda wanna know." Said Juan.
"Me too." Austin chimed in.
So with no other choice, I told them everything that happened from the start.
