DIAGON Alley is packed. Today, children of different ages are on for shopping for their school supplies especially the incoming first years of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Several boys who's probably incoming first years too had their noses pressed against a window with broomsticks in it. "Look," one of them say, "the new Nimbus Two Thousand - fastest ever -"
Draco Malfoy - son of Lucius and Narcissa Malfoy - turned to look at where the kids are talking about and he looked at it in awe. He's been a big fan of quidditch for a very long time and getting one of those brooms would be a dream come true for him. Sadly, first years aren't allowed to have brooms.
A girl beside him called Draco over so they could get their uniforms fitted. The girl got the attention of the few people surrounding them.
"Good heavens, that's her," heard one of them say.
Needless to say, she is used to getting these type of attentions for a while now. With her naturally wavy, jet black hair and infamous grey eyes, everyone would know her.
Carina Black, the last heiress of the Noble House of Black. And of course also the heiress to the LaCroix Family, a wealthy and influential family who originated from France.
"Come on now Draco, we need to get our uniforms," the young Black told her cousin.
Draco snaked his arms around the small figure of his cousin in attempt to make it look like he's protecting her although people are more intimidated to Carina than him.
Walking past the shops, the two children were left alone by Draco's parents so they could get everything they need faster.
They entered Madam Malkin's shop and we're immediately assisted by the witch.
"Hogwarts you two, I presume?" The lady asked nicely.
"Yes," they said.
"Mind if I go first Dray?" Carina asked her cousin.
"Not at all, take your time," he said.
When she was finished, she wondered her eyes on the shop. She walked around while interestingly looking through the different robes.
She heard the door opened and peeked through the clothes to see a young boy, seemingly around her age. He wears a round glasses that seems broken judging from the weird thing in the middle of it. He's also wearing a checkered clothe that looks too big on him.
But what made Carina interested in the boy was his appealing green eyes that shows nervousness and curiosity. The boy turned around and accidentally locked his eyes with her stormy grey ones. Carina was flabbergasted so she ran back to her cousin who was standing on a stool while a witch was pinning a black robe on him.
Carina came back at the same time the curious boy was stood on the next stool beside her cousin's. She avoided his stare and made herself interested on the floor and noted how dusty her shoes were because of the noticeable footprints from her constant walking.
"Hello," she heard her cousin talk tomorrow the boy, "Hogwarts,
too?"
"Yes," the green eyed guy said.
"My father's next door buying my books and
Mother's up the street looking at wands," Carina rolled her eyes because she knew where this conversation is going to. Draco's going to brag whatever he wants to and would proceed to ask about the boy's parents. If they're purebloods he'll definitely befriend him but if not, well....
"Then I'm going to drag them off to look at racing brooms. I don't see why first years can't have their own. I think I'll bully Father into getting me one and I'll smuggle it in somehow." The Black sat on a chair nearby, full of boredom. Don't get her wrong, she lover her cousin but it is annoying to listen to him babble about things that no one is actually interested on.
"Have you got your own broom?" Draco asked.
"No"
"Play Quidditch at all?"
"No," he looks curious about what quidditch is. The girl thought he's probably a muggleborn.
"I do - Father says it's a crime if I'm not picked to play for my House, and I must say, I agree. Know what House you'll be in yet?" Carina rolled her eyes for the fifth time.
"No," she's starting to feel bad for the boy.
"Well, no one really knows until they get there, do they, but I know I'll be in Slytherin, all our family have been
- imagine being in Hufflepuff, I think I'd leave, wouldn't you?"
"Mmm," Carina snorted how uncomfortable the boy looked like.
"I say, look at that man!" Draco said suddenly, nodding toward the front window. A really big man was standing there, grinning at the strange boy and pointing at two large ice creams to show he couldn't come in.
"That's Hagrid," the other boy said. "He works at Hogwarts."
"Oh," said Draco, "I've heard of him.
He's a sort of servant, isn't he?"
Carina is getting tired listening to her cousin's annoying voice so she tuned out their conversation and busied herself with other things. Then, finally, she heard Draco asked the question she's actually waiting for him to ask. She'd like to know who the boy was but clearly is a bit too shy to ask so she'll let her cousin do the work without him actually knowing it.
"Why is he with you? Where are your parents?"
"They're dead," she widened her eyes, it's definitely not what she expected
"Oh, sorry," said Draco, but she knows he's not sorry at all.
"But they were our kind, weren't
they?" Carina signalled Draco to stop but he didn't notice.
"They were a witch and wizard, if that's what you mean." The boy answered.
"I really don't think they should let the other sort in, do you? They're just not the same, they've never been brought up to know our ways. Some of them have never even heard of Hogwarts until they get the letter, imagine. I think they should keep it in the old wizarding families. What's your surname, anyway?" But before he could answer -which was unfortunate for the girl- Madam Malkin said to the boy, "That's you done, my dear," then he hopped down from the footstool. Before going, he glanced at the young girl sitting from afar and made eye contact again but she looked away, again.
"Well, I'll see you at Hogwarts, I suppose," said the drawling boy.
A few minutes after he left, Draco was also done so the two made their way out.
"You should've seen the boy Dray, he was so uncomfortable with you. I kept trying to signal you to stop but you continued babbling," she confronted her cousin.
"Come on, it's not a big deal. At least now he knows we're gonna be at Hogwarts too might as well be friends with him," she thought her cousin's hit his head but she didn't say anything further. Draco never told his father about her whenever she insults or fight with him but it's not good to say something inappropriate to him right now because his parents just came back and is now beside them.
They checked everything and decided to get some ice cream from a quite famous ice cream shop at diagon alley.
"Carina dear, I apologize but I forgot to get you your wand," Narcissa Malfoy said.
"Oh that's okay, I'll go get one for myself," she said.
"Are you sure? I'll let Draco come with you again-"
"Quite sure Aunt Cissy," she stood up from her chair and told them she'd be back shortly.
CARINA BLACK'S POV
Olivander's shop isn't really that hard to find. It was narrow and shabby. Peeling gold letters over the door read Ollivanders: Makers of Fine Wands since 382 B.C. A single wand lay on a faded purple cushion in the dusty window.
I saw two people inside the shop before I get it. It was Hagrid, the big man from earlier and the strange boy we met at Madam Malkin's.
I hesitated, I'm not always the confident person to be honest, but I need to hurry because there are people waiting for me so I plucked up the courage and entered the shop.
There was an old man behind the counter with the boy and Hagrid in front.
"...After all, He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named did great things - terrible, yes,
but great." I faintly heard the man said. The attention was now on me, I can feel the boy staring which wasn't really new to me but somehow, I feel something off.
"Ah yes, it is an honor to have you Ms.Black," I didn't wonder how the man knew my name, Mr.Olivander is a really cool wizard, I think.
"Black? Carina Black?" Hagrid turned and asked me.
"Yes," I gave him sa slight smile.
"Oh tis a great coincidence. I remember ye wer only a baby when I last see ya," Hagrid seemed excited to tell me that.
I noticed Mr.Olivander going through numerous wands and putting them in a box. Those are probably the wands he'll test for me so while I'm waiting, maybe I should start a conversation with Hagrid and the boy.
"You knew me when I was baby?" I asked, genuinely curious.
"Of course why wouldn't I? Yer parents-- er, mother was a great friend of mine. She was a wonderful person yer mom." I was pulled out of my usually cold demeanor and gave him a big sweet smile. No one talked about my parents like that, and if I would ask them - those pure blood family friends I mean - it would go along the lines of 'blood-traitors' and 'disgrace to the purebloods' so from then, I just stopped asking about them.
"I think ye have met Harry here, saw ye there together at Madam Malkin's," Hagrid said while motioning to the strange boy who's name is Harry, as he said.
"Harry? You must be Harry Potter, correct me if I'm wrong," I finally turned to face him. "Y-yeah I'm Harry Potter," he answered while giving me a sweet smile that I reciprocated.
"That's amazing, who would've thought? It's nice meeting you, I'm Carina Black," I offered him a hand and gladly, he accepted.
"By the way, I apologize for my cousin Draco's actions earlier, at Madam Malkin's, he's probably just excited to finally attend Hogwarts and couldn't resist to talk too much."
"It's okay, I didn't mind," we both were startled when we heard Hagrid blowing his nose.
"It's been years since ye last saw each other, ye wer tiny babies then and now both of ye are finally going ter Hogwarts," Hagrid seems to be crying or no? Probably he's crying happy tears, but what did he say? Since we were tiny babies?
I was about to question the man, Harry seems confused too but Mr.Olivander suddenly came and rushed me to go over him and test the wands. Hagrid then bid me goodbye and said, "I'll see ye at Hogwarts Carina."
---
Mr.Olivander have given me lots of wands already but nothing seems to work fine. "Are you sure you're right handed?" He asked. "Of course sir I am" what does that have to do with anything?
"Hmm," he seems to be in deep thought for a while before picking something from sa shelf nearby.
"Ebony and dragon core. Twelve and a half inches. Quite bendy flexibility," he handed me a black wand which has a neatly carved design in the handle and a white, thing at the end, probably a...pearl or an orb? Not sure...
(looks like this, got this from Pinterest)
When I held the wand, I felt tingles from my fingers that washed along my hand, Mr.Olivander smiles at me and ushered me to wave it and when I did, yellow sparks emerged from it.
'Finally' I thought.
"It is amazing isn't?" The old man said.
"What is?"
"Your wand, is almost just the same as your mother's. Only difference is the length, hers is eleven inches," that made me smile.
"But you know, it is quite amazing that that particular wand chose you," he added.
"But why though?"
"The wand was made hundreds of years ago, it never chose a master even those who are most powerful of all. It almost chose your mom but it decided against it and now, you are it's chosen wielder."

(this is the original first chapter, nothing is changed)
I tried to make Hagrid's dialogues the same as how he talks but it's quite hard for me so let's just use our wild imaginations.

Hi y'all!! It's the first chapter, hope y'all like it!
I think I'll have another chapter of them being kids (first year) then the next chapters will start with their third year. Also mind that the story might circle with Carina's life and not really on Harry, but with the way I write, I'm pretty sure I'll be able to give almost everyone their spotlights, that's all, happy reading!!
