"Oh no!" A little voice exclaimed. "The Princess is trapped under the snow goblin's spell!"
A little Anna, a little Elias and a little (Y/n) were all kneeling on the floor surrounded by a tiny forest Elias had made from snow. Anna was holding a princess and a snow goblin that Elias had also made out of snow, and there were little snow animals dotted all around them as well.
"Quick Elias! Make a Prince! A fancy one!" Anna requested.
Elias quickly creates another small figure that looked like a Prince which Anna grabbed.
"Oh no! The Prince is trapped too! 'Who cares about danger when there's love?'" Anna said in a deep voice, mimicking a Prince. Then she made the snow prince and princess kiss.
Elias gagged. "Ugh, Anna. Blech! Kissing won't save the forest."
(Y/n) giggled and picked up a snow elephant that was next to a small figure that looked like a walking marshmallow. (Baymax)
"The lost fairies cry out!" (Y/n) yelled, mimicking an elephant sound, then she picked up a little giraffe and paused. "Hey, Elias, what sound does a giraffe make?"
He shrugged. Then he made another figure with wings that was riding on a unicorn. "They wake the Fairy King who breaks the spell and saves everyone!"
Anna scooped up the little figurines. "And they all get married!" She laughed.
King Agnarr and Queen Iduna were standing in the doorway of their shared room, smiling at them.
"What are you playing?" The King asked.
"Enchanted Forest." Anna replied.
The King hummed. "That's like no enchanted forest that I've ever seen."
Elias gasped and stood up. "You've seen an enchanted forest?"
(Y/n) stood up next to him. "Awesome!"
Anna popped up as well. "Wait, what?"
"I have. Once." The King answered.
Anna angrily placed her hands on her hips. "And you've never told us this before?"
The King shrugged. "Well, I could tell you now, if you..."
Elias, (Y/n) and Anna rushed into one of the beds and sat next to each other squirming with excitement.
"Okay, now."
"Tell us now."
"Please?"
"Are you sure about this?" The Queen asked.
"He nodded. "It's time they know."
"Let's make a big snowman later." Anna whispered to (Y/n) and Elias.
"If they can settle and listen." The King added.
The three kids quickly straightened up and held their breath.
"Far away, as North as we can go, stood a very old, and very enchanted forest. But it's magic wasn't that of goblin spells and lost fairies."
Elias, (Y/n) and Anna looked like they were in a trance as they listened very intently
"It was protected by the most powerful spirits of all...those of air, of fire, of water, and earth."
...
Several years ago, a four tall stone pillars stood in a row, representing the four elements. Just beyond them, was the entrance to a beautiful forest with tall trees, flowing waters and strong rocks.
"But the forest was also home to the mysterious Northuldra people."
Inside the forest, several huts sat in a small clearing. Several people wearing tan and gray outfits, wandered around the village, going about their tasks.
"Were the Northuldra magical? Like me?" Elias asked.
"No, Elias. They were not magical. They just took advantage of the Forest's gifts."
...
In the village, the Fire spirit lit a fire pit as a woman set a kettle over the fire.
...
An older man was carried over a lake by a stream of water.
...
Rocks seemed to lift my themselves, carrying several reindeer and their Shepard.
...
"Their ways were so different from ours, but still, they promised us friendship."
The leader of the Northuldra, an old man with long white hair, approached the King of Arendelle who was tall with red hair and a bushy mustache.
"In honor of that, your grandfather, King Runeard, built them a mighty dam to strengthen their waters. It was a gift of peace."
The giant dam sat between two cliffs and filled up the chasm in between. On top of the same was a long bridge that brought the Northuldra and Arendelle together.
"That's a big gift of peace." Anna commented.
"And I was so honored to get to go to the Forest to celebrate it."
King Runeard and a handful of soldiers stalks at one end of the bridge, while the Northuldra walked across the other. A young King Agnarr stood next to his father, looking around the forest in amazement.
"But I wasn't at all prepared for what that day would bring."
...
Inside the forest, the Northuldra and the Arendelle soldiers watched two Northuldra people perform tricks with the reindeer.
Agnarr looked around in amazement, seeing all the reindeer, some soldiers moving around on the water, a little fireball hopping around on some rocks.
"We let our guard down. We were charmed. It all felt so...magical."
Rocks flew above Agnarr's head and landed by some reindeer who were grazing. The rocks bounced around for a minute and created a statue that looked like a reindeer.
Suddenly, some leaves flew past Agnarr, gaining his attention. He broke away from the crowd and followed them. Through the trees, he could see a young girl laughing, and being picked up by the wind.
He smiled at the site of her, before she seemed to disappear.
"But something went wrong."
Agnarr suddenly heard a shout, and turned to see the Northuldra and the Arendelle soldiers fighting each other.
"They were attacking us."
A tall solider with dark skin and a beard, came up to Agnarr and placed a hand on his shoulder, pushing him out of harm's way.
"It was a brutal battle."
King Runeard could be seen battling with the Northuldra chief near a cliff, when they both pushed to hard and fell over the side.
"And your Grandfather...was lost."
Suddenly, a wall of fire burst out of the ground, separating the Northuldra and the soldiers.
"The fighting enraged the spirits. They turned their magic against us all."
A huge gust of wind blew through the trees. Agnarr threw his arms over his face to cover himself when a huge rock landed in front of him. The force of the landing, sent Agnarr flying back against another rock, hitting his head.
"Ah-Ah-Ah-Ah!"
Agnarr slowly opened his eyes a bit, hearing a beautiful voice echoing through the trees, before he felt himself being lifted up into the air.
"There was this voice...and someone saved me."
...
"I'm told the spirits vanished. And a powerful mist covered the forest, locking everyone out. And that night, I came home King of Arendelle."
(Y/n) and Elias looked up at the King, sitting shoulder to shoulder, slight saddened by the end of the story.
Anna stared up at her father with her mouth agape. "Woah, Papa, that was epic! Whoever saved you, I love them." Anna declared, falling back onto her mother's lap.
"What happened to the spirits?" Elias asked.
(Y/n) nodded. "Yeah. What's in the forest now?"
The King shrugged. "I don't know. The mist still stands. No one can get in. And no one has since come out."
(Y/n) leaned her head on Elias' shoulder in sadness, and he wrapped his arms around her for comfort.
Iduna wrapped her arms around the two kids. "So we're safe."
"Yes. But the forest could wake again. And we must be prepared for whatever danger it may bring." Agnarr warned.
"And on that note, I think it's time to say goodnight to your father." Iduna interrupted.
Anna whined. "Aw, but I still have so many questions."
"Save them for another night, Anna." Agnarr told her.
She sighed. "You know I don't have that kind of patience."
As the King left the room, Anna sat up on her knees and addressed her mother. "Why would the Northuldra attack us anyway? Who attacks people who give them gifts?"
"Do you think the forest will wake again?" Elias asked their mother as she sat down in the bed.
"Only Ahtohallan knows." She muttered.
"Octa-who-what?" Anna asked in confusion.
"When I was little, my mother would sing a song about a special river called Ahtohallan that was said to hold all the answers about the past. About what we are a part of."
"Wow..." (Y/n) whispered in fascination.
"Will you sing it for us? Please?" Elias requested.
The Queen chucked lightly. "Okay." She crawled into the bed, and laid against the headboard. "Cuddle close. Scooch in."
Anna laughed flopped her head in her mother's lap. Elias leaned in on her other side, and (Y/n) scooted next to him. She snuggled into his chest, and Elias turned slightly pink at having her so close.
🎵Iduna: "Where the Northwind meets the sea...there's a river full of memory."🎵
The Queen stroked a finger down Anna's nose and booped it.
🎵Iduna: "Sleep, my darling, safe and sound. For in this river, all is found."🎵
Anna quickly fell asleep, and Idunna stood up from the bed to put her to sleep.
🎵Iduna: "In her waters, deep and true, lie the answers and a path for you."🎵
She tucked Anna into bed, and came back over to Elias and (Y/n).
🎵Iduna: "Dive down deep into her sound. But not too far or you'll be drowned."🎵
(Y/n) was the next to fall asleep to the Queen's song. She yawned and her eyelids grew heavy as her head fell against Elias' shoulder.
The Queen went to pick (Y/n) up and take her to her parents, but Elias shook his head, and pulled her closer, laying down with her.
Iduna smiled, and pulled the blanket over them, tucking them into bed.
🎵Iduna: "Yes, she will sing to those who'll hear, and in her song, all magic flows. But can you brave what you most fear? Can you face what the river knows?"🎵
Elias looked out his window into the sky, seeing the Notthern lights shining down upon them.
🎵Iduna: "Where the North wind meets the sea, there's a mother full of memory. Come, my darling, homeward bound. When all is lost, then all is found."🎵
