"Please, please tell me we can fix the controls? We can fix them, right?" Nya begged, her voice breaking.
Pixel shook her head before resting it down. "I'm sorry."
She slid to the floor, putting her face into her knees. "What have I done.. He's right. Without me, he would never have found the amulet. Without me, none of this would've happened. I messed everything up." Nya sobbed, pushing Jay away.
"Nya." Maya snapped her fingers, crouching down. "Look at me. When I first came here, I thought- I thought I was here to help you. But the more I watched you, the more time I spent with you, the more I realized you don't need my help. And you never did. You're a better Elemental Master than I ever was. If I were in your shoes right now, I really would be stuck. But I have no doubt, that you will find a way to get us out of here."
Damn. You missed having a mom.
Jay sighed, leaning against the railing. "So. Now we just have to find a way off this incredibly far off island, without help of our ship, or any of our technology since it is all broken. Piece of cake."
Tilting his head, Bentho spoke up. "Can you not use your Elemental Powers to summon the whales? They could easily pull this vessel behind them."
She laughed, "Yeah no.. I don't summon whales. I can't do that."
"But you are Nya?"
With a nod, Nya just seemed to get more and more confused. And you had to agree with her, what was Bentho saying?
"The first Elemental Master of water. Nyad. Surely you know the tale of Nyad?" He glanced around, only to be met by confused faces.
You kind of knew what it was, it was whoever had been the Elemental Master of Water before Maya, and had helped conquer Wo-jira. But you had never heard of her calling whales.
Maya smiled, glancing at her daughter. "Don't you remember that? When you were a little girl? The story of Nyad and the whales? She rode upon their backs. We named you after her, knowing you would be just as great of a person."
"It is true. Nyad had helped defeat the serpent Wo-jira. She leapt onto the serpent's head with nothing but a broken trident!-"
"Benthomaar! I can't summon whales." Nya yelled, laughing at herself. "I can only control water. And right now, I'm not even good at that."
Bentho looked at Maya, who only shrugged. "I was the Elemental Master of Water before her, I would know if something like that was possible."
"Have you ever tried?"
Nya paused her frustration. "Well- no."
He smiled. "Then where is the proof that you can't?"

Jay pushed past Lloyd, lifting his hands to the side of his face. "How's it going?! Almost done??"
The past hour or so had been Nya wading a bit off of the shore, while you sat on Lloyd's jacket, watching him try to stop Jay from interrupting Nya.
"No, Jay! There's just a lot of little fish! And they're too small to pull the sub, and we're stuck here, and it's all my fault!" She threw her face into the water and started screaming out of frustration.
Still trying to block Jay, Lloyd yelled out. "It isn't your fault Nya!"
"How is it not my fault? If I hadn't come along, Calamari would have never found this place, the amulet would still be safe, and we'd-"
You squinted past some of the rocks and saw them. "Nya! Look!" Whales.
She looked behind her, staring at them in shock. "I- I did it.. I did it!!" She yelled jumping up and down.
The rest of the team erupted in cheer, as you tried shaking the sand off of Lloyd's jacket.
Jay punched his fists in the cheer, laughing. "Ninjago City, here we come!"

Yawning, you began paying attention to Bentho again.
"Long before time had a name, the First Spinjitzu Master arrived to our world, a mere child, to find a world engulfed in chaos. This chaos was caused by Wo-jira. The mighty serpent of the wave and storm. The First Spinjitzu Master knew that for life to blossom in this realm, Wo-jira had to be stopped. With the help of the Islanders, and the Merlopians who swept in the depths of the sea, they confronted Wo-jira.
It was a fierce battle. Wo-jira was too powerful. All was lost. Until Nyad. The first Elemental Master of Water. She leapt on to the beast and saw with her own eyes the source of Wo-jira's power. Two strange objects, which Wo-jira wore upon her forehead. Nyad knew what she had to do.
And alone, Nyad could not stop Wo-Jira. She had to become a greater power. The ocean itself. She merged with it. A state she could never return from. She sacrificed herself to save the world. As for the power of the wave and the storm, the First Spinjitzu Master gave the first to the King of the Sea, and the second, to the Chief of the Keepers.
When the seas calmed and grew still, the First Spinjitzu Master created Ninjago. And the world was in harmony. Balance.
But now, my brother seeks to change that." Bentho finished his story, sipping on his glass of salty water. It made your throat itch just thinking about it.
Nya glanced at the team, before looking back to Bentho. "He's got one Amulet already. We can't let him get the other."
Sighing, Bentho brushed his hand through his thin, coarse hair in an attempt to calm down. "With both, he will awaken Wo-jira, and create a wave of destruction not seen since the dawn of time."
Lloyd sighed from your lap, as he rested his head on your thigh. "Let's just hope Kalmaar hasn't been able to locate the second Amulet."
As everyone else began settling into seats, you twirled the blond hair in-between your fingers. "You don't think he would've gotten it already right?"
"I'm sure they won't let him get it. Cole and Kai are great Ninja, and along with Master Wu, my mother, and Mr. Smith. They'll be fine." He smiled, staring up at you.
You nodded, opening your mouth, only to be interrupted by a beeping noise. Lloyd sat up, as you rolled your eyes, "I'll get it!" Standing up from the floor, you looked over to the radar, to see multiple green dots, along with a gold dot, a brown dot, and a red dot, not that far off from where the HB was going to dock. Why were the rest of the team here? Why were they all grouped together under the water? "Guys I think we have an issue-"
You glanced out the windshield to see Master Wu, Cole, Kai, Ray, and Misako all tied together, stuck to an anchor. What the fuck happened?
The ship lowered to the sea bed , and underneath the group. It quickly rose, and Nya nodded to everyone, running out of the bridge. You were ultimately still confused on what was happening.
As the ship rose above the water, more and more of the team started heading out, leaving only you and Lloyd.
Rummaging through the closet by the door, you looked for extra weapons, or something that could help the fight. As you were doing that, a wave of an emotion rushed over you. You couldn't exactly tell which emotion it was though, panic? Fear? Guilt? It felt all too similar to what you felt before being taken by Arcturus.
Lightheaded, you stumbled against the wall. Lloyd looked at you in a panic. "Y/n..? Y/n? What- what is going on, don't pass out now that would be horrible timing and you have had some of the worst."
You shook your head, slouching to the ground. "I- I'm fine. Actually no, I'm not going to lie about that. I've been feeling --and especially just now-- a feeling that I only- I really only felt once before. I mentioned it before, but I really need to say it again.."
Lloyd knelt down in front of you, nodding for you to continue.
"It's hard to explain- but I felt it during the Tournament of Elements before I-" You paused, taking the edge of your palm to wipe under your eye. "Shit.. I'm crying now. But I uh- I really only felt this before I got stranded in the First Realm. Fuck.. I don't want to die Lloyd..."
He frowned, grabbing your hands, and pressing them up to his face. "And you won't. Even if the First Spinjitzu Master himself comes down saying you're to die, I will reject him as my own blood and fight to save you. You won't leave again, okay?"
You sobbed, your head falling forward, and into his lap. "I'm so scared. This whole mission has just been me complaining about my traumas and I hate it so much."
"Hey. I promise, it's fine to complain. You have a right after all that you've been through. Like we've been saying countless times, we need therapy. And we'll get it after we defeat Kalmaar and everything goes back to normal."
Nodding, you used your sleeve to wipe your face, and stood up. "Alright. I guess we'd better get going then."
Lloyd smiled, walking through the sub, you by his side. "We'd better hurry up before they finish the fight without us."
Your tears and snot (what could you say? You were an ugly crier and proud) finally went away as you walked to the ladder. Watching Lloyd climb up, you suddenly got nervous again. Tightening your belt, you shook it off, and grabbed one of the rungs. Everything would be fine.
Squinting as you faced the sunlight, you managed to make out Nya, diving into the water.
Kai heaved a snake guy over the railing and into the bay, confused about what just happened. "Wait. So Nya can talk to whales now?"
"It's a whole thing." Jay responded, staring at the surface of the water. "It's better to not question it."
You walked over to the rest of the team with a fake yawn. It was embarrassing to cry damnit. "Damn, I missed the fight and I'm still tired? That's not fair."
Lloyd frowned at your masking, which you responded to by glaring at him to not point it out. "Yeah.. so Nya is going after him?"
Cole nodded, hugging you quick in a large bear hug. "She has to get the Amulet. I'm not sure what we'll do if she can't."
The surface suddenly burst, a large plume of water shooting up. Did she just get blown up..?
The water calmed, and with slow ripples, you lost more and more hope that Nya had survived.
Until a gloved hand crept up the edge of the deck, and black hair popped up. Nya sighed. "Kalmaar got away." Shit.
Bentho sighed, "Then he will continue his senseless quest to awaken Wo-jira.
Nya continued panting, but now she smirked. "Well, he won't get far without this!" She raised up her other hand, to reveal she had the Storm Amulet.
Everyone began cheering, and passing the Amulet around. You won for now. And that was all everyone needed.
But you felt off. Maybe it was the feeling you got from earlier, or just you being paranoid, but something about the amulet really irked you in the wrong way.

Sorry for a late(ish) update :3
I got in a fight with my math teacher (and neighbor) today, because she failed my test because I didn't show work on a multiple choice question, and I had to calm down and not have a panic attack lmaoooooo
Also made up shitty excuses blaming a field trip on why I couldn't bring my test home until the next day
Sorry for rant lmao (maybe the countless chapters I'm writing are getting me in a mood 👀)
