~2017~

"Hey, have you seen the boss lately?" A man asked, stopping the figure.

"Why?" The figure asked, looking back with no interest.

"I need to give him these reports. They're important." The man said, waving a stack of paper.

"Tch. Hand them over to Kisaki. The boss could care less about your reports." The figure scoffed.

Just then, their eyes narrowed and they raised their arm, blocking the punch thrown at them.

"What the fuck do you think you're doing?" The figure coldly spoke.

"I'm just trying to do my job! I'm sure the boss will be interested in what's in these papers!" The man scowled, launching his other fist at the figure.

The figure was silent, face turning to the side as the punch connected with their cheek. The two were silent for a moment, only the sound of heavy breaths heard.

BAM!

The man's eyes shot wide and he immediately collapsed to the ground, crying out in pain as blood pooled below him.

"Fucking trash. Really think you're worth the boss's time? I know what you're aiming for." The figure said, putting away their gun before kneeling and gripping the man by his hair.

"You're not gonna lay a hand on him. I'll make sure of it." The figure said, wide eyes staring straight into the man's watery ones.

The figure slammed his head down and as they observed his limp form, their eyes shifted to the stack of papers laying on the floor.

"Wonder what this is anyways." The figure muttered, grabbing the stack and flipping through the pages.

Immediately, their eyes grew wide and their jaw grew tense as their figure slightly shook.

"How the fuck do you know about this...?" The figure spat, staring down at the limp man with murder in their eyes.

~2005~

"What are you even wearing?" Y/n deadpanned.

Currently, she held a white bag and was dressed casually, standing in front of one of the many doors in the hospital. Just a few feet away stood Takemichi in a...unique outfit.

"Well...! I just thought I'd try something new!" Takemichi slightly sputtered, puffing his chest as he walked over.

"You look horrible. No offense, man." Y/n snorted as she opened the door to the room.

"I don't think so!" Takemichi said as he followed behind her.

Then, his eyes caught sight of Draken who sat up on the hospital bed, accepting the bag Y/n gave him.

"Draken-kun! How ya' holdin' up?!" Takemichi asked as he grinned widely.

'Jeez...And I thought I was dorky sometimes...' Y/n internally signed.

"Quit acting like a jackass." Draken scoffed.

"Huh?! How am I acting like one?" Takemichi froze.

"You've got it written all over you. And take those shitty clothes off." Draken deadpanned.

"Told ya'." Y/n piped in. "I get you were amazing for saving Kenny and taking down Kiyomasa, but don't get a big head already."

"It's lame as hell." Draken nodded.

"You wouldn't understand, especially you, Draken-kun...What it's like to live in the shadows..." Takemichi sulked.

"Hm? Don't be creepy." Draken sighed.

"This is the first time anyone's looked at me! Let me live a little, okay?!" Takemichi exclaimed as he got close to the pair's faces.

"I can't believe you'd admit something that depressing at max volume. And I thought Y/n was lame, especially since she's always carrying her guitar around with her." Draken said.

"Eh?" Y/n gaped.

'Am I just the standard for what is and what isn't lame...?!'

"Don't look at me like that. You know it's true. Anyone else would agree." Draken said, glancing at Y/n who stared at him with a frown.

"You're so mean. I'm telling Emma." Y/n huffed.

"And? She'd agree too." Draken retorted.

"It's like everyone I know thinks so lowly of me...You're all cruel. Very, very cruel." Y/n sulked.

Suddenly, Draken remembered something as he glanced beside Y/n where a bag sat on a stool. Grabbing it, he called over to Takemichi who was ranting about how unappreciated he felt.

"Here." Draken said, holding the bag forward

"Hm?" Takemichi raised a brow as he accepted the bag.

"It's from Mikey. He said to give it to you." Draken told the boy who curiously looked in.

Y/n glanced over at Takemichi and hummed as he pulled out a Toman uniform, staring at it in amazement.

"A gang uniform?" Takemichi gaped.

"Not just any gang uniform. It's very special and if you ruin it I will personally deal with you." Y/n said, staring at Takemichi with a blank expression.

"Huh?!" Takemichi flinched as he shuffled away from her.

"Cut it out." Draken deadpanned as he smacked the girl's head.

Y/n huffed.

"Sorry about that..." Y/n muttered, crossing her arms as she looked away.

"Is this really that important?" Takemichi gulped, holding the uniform up.

"Yeah. That's the uniform Mikey wore when he first started Toman." Draken revealed. "In Toman, that uniform's as important as life itself."

"Then...why does he want me to have this?" Takemichi asked.

"He said that whether you wear it or not is up to you. He wants you to have it." Draken grinned.

"You probably won't fit in it though since that was Mikey's when he was just 12 years old and he's a small guy." Y/n said.

Draken raised a brow, glancing at Y/n who huffed in response.

"Takemitchy, you're Toman's savior. Everyone knows that, including me. Let me show my gratitude once more." Draken said as he stood.

"Thank you." He bowed as Takemichi stayed silent in surprise.

"Take good care of that uniform." Draken added.

"This is Mikey-kun's...He gave this to me...That's heavy." Takemichi spoke as he held the uniform up.

"Wonder if I'll ever be the kinda guy who can pull this off." He grinned awkwardly.

"It'd be a better look compared to what you have on now." Y/n snorted.

"Go see him." Draken grinned.

"Huh?" Takemichi blinked.

"He's probably napping up on the roof." Draken said as he looked out the window.

"Ah, alright..." Takemichi nodded as he stuffed the uniform back into the bag.

But before he stepped out of the room, he looked back and met eyes with Y/n.

"I promise, Y/n-chan. I'll take good care of this uniform. In exchange, take care of Mikey-kun." Takemichi smiled.

"Huh?" Y/n uttered as her eyes widened in surprise.

Takemichi left and Y/n sighed as Draken turned to her with a knowing look.

"What a weirdo." Y/n commented.

"You're being unusually harsh. Something up?" Draken asked.

"No, just don't want Takemitchy to ruin Mikey's uniform. Had to make sure he'll take care of it." Y/n pouted as she stared out the window.

"Yeah, yeah. Always looking out for Mikey, ain't ya'?" Draken laughed.

"Well someone has to." Y/n grinned.

-----

Y/n yawned as she stared at the two boy's who stood in front of her, the both of them groaning as she waved her finger in a 'no way' manner.

"C'mon, Y/n! Mikey wouldn't be this lame!" Baji exclaimed.

"I don't feel like getting chased by a group of dogs. Again!" Y/n slightly scowled.

"That's why we're here!" The boy next to Baji reasoned.

Matsuno Chifuyu
First Division
Vice-Captain

Y/n narrowed her eyes before sighing.

"Fine! If I get killed, I'm haunting the both of ya'!" She threatened while catching the bag tossed to her.

"Don't worry, it'll be fine!" Baji waved off.

Y/n took in a sharp breath and tied a sash around her torso, feeling the cold of the cheap packaged meat through her clothes.

"We know a good place where the dogs are behind the fence. It should give you a headstart, and this time, you'll probably escape without your arm being broken." Chifuyu said.

"Alright. I'm ready." Y/n huffed as she made sure her shoelaces were tied.

Baji and Chifuyu led Y/n to a run-down building where a fence was closing it off from the public. Upon getting about 10 feet close, Y/n stopped as she caught sight of a group of dogs laying just past the fence.

"They're here. You better lead them away, Y/n. I saw a few bike parts here that I could use, so you gotta buy Chifuyu and me some time." Baji said.

"Okay. You two go hide over-" Y/n nodded.

But she instantly froze as the dogs turned their heads in her and the pair's direction. The dogs immediately started barking and just as Y/n thought she was temporarily safe...

...they jumped over the fence!

Baji and Chifuyu were clearly taken aback also and as the dogs ran towards them, Y/n and Chifuyu sprinted off as Baji narrowly avoided the dogs and ran to collect the bike parts.

"Dammit, Chifuyu...He left!" Baji scowled.

Meanwhile...

"You freakin' idiots! Did you not think that those big ass dogs could jump over the fence?!" Y/n exclaimed.

"They looked tiny from where we stood!" Chifuyu reasoned, slightly stammering as he heard the dogs get closer.

The sight was quite ridiculous and bystanders laughed or sent confused looks at the teenagers, wondering if they should or could even help.

"Over there! Over there!" Chifuyu exclaimed as he pointed at a playground.

Y/n's screams grew louder and high-pitched as the dogs were basically an inch behind her. She, when given the chance, jumped and grabbed onto the metal bars of the monkey bars, slightly hissing as a dog jumped and managed to scratch her leg with its nails.

Beside her, Chifuyu panted and he stared at the dogs in horror as they continued snarling and barking.

"This is why I like cats more..." Chifuyu wheezed.

"They're not much better...I still remember the catnip incident. Gramps had to take me to get shots." Y/n heaved as she untied the meat sash.

Reeling her arm back, she threw the sash as far as she could, watching the dogs chase it and gobble up the meat when it fell onto the grass.

"Damn...That looks nasty..." Chifuyu cringed as he glanced at the wound on Y/n's leg.

"It's fine. Gotta wait to disinfect it though 'cause those dogs still keep looking at us." Y/n shivered, especially because she made eye contact with the one that gave her the wound.

By the time the pair could leave, an hour had passed. They were annoyed because Baji, the one who had scared away the dogs with horns and spray bottles, was the one who was supposed to save them a long time ago. Baji excused himself by saying that he had to buy a newly released manga and had ended up forgetting about them until Draken called to ask about Y/n.

"You three are morons." Draken scoffed, staring down at the sitting trio.

"It was for a good cause!" Baji reasoned.

"Nothing went wrong either." Chifuyu added.

"Explain that then." Draken deadpanned, pointedly staring at Y/n who was bandaging her leg.

"C'mon, Kenny. This ain't unusual, so it doesn't count." Y/n shrugged her shoulders.

"Of course it does. That's why Mikey said that from now on, for a month, you're not allowed to hang out with those idiots." Draken said, pointing at the male pair.

Baji and Chifuyu gasped, clearly offended.

"What?!"

"Kenny! That ain't fair!" Y/n complained.

"Tell Mikey that." Draken scoffed, gesturing back at the blonde who began walking over.

"What is it?" Mikey questioned.

"Tell me Kenny's lying!" Y/n immediately said.

"Yeah! This has gotta be a joke!" Chifuyu nodded quickly.

"What are you talking about?" Mikey raised a brow.

"This guy said that we're not allowed to hang out with Y/n for a month!" Baji replied as he pointed at Draken who rolled his eyes.

"Hm. Yeah. That's right." Mikey nodded.

"What?!"

"You're a walking hazard as it is. With those two, you're getting even more seriously hurt. Don't you remember the catnip incident?" Mikey sighed as he stared at Y/n.

"Mikey!" Y/n whined as she grabbed his hands and began waving them.

"It's a month, N/n. You three can do it." Mikey said as he pulled his hands away and patted her shoulders.

"Jeez..." Y/n pouted as she turned to look at the pair.

"So long, Y/n. We'll always look for you wherever we go." Chifuyu saluted.

"You're a dumbass, so don't go getting into trouble without us. We can do this." Baji said as he gave a thumbs-up.

"Excuse you-" Y/n blinked.

Just then, Draken shooed away the First Division captains who continued yelling as they ran away.

"Now, let's go home, N/n!" Mikey grinned as he pulled her away.

"Wait, I'm still processing what happened-!"

-----

Just as Mikey said, Y/n was kept away from Baji and Chifuyu. Whenever they happened to be in the same place, Mikey would drag Y/n in the other direction while Draken ushered the male pair away.

"Y/n, pay attention." Asahi frowned, flicking his pencil at her forehead.

"It's just so difficult! I can't understand this crap!" Y/n whined as she stared at her worksheet.

"I'm surprised that I can. Then again, history was never your strong suit." Asahi said, paying attention to his paper.

"I can remember it for a while, but after taking a test, I forget all about it." Y/n groaned as she flipped through the pages of her textbook.

"You just gotta stick it in your brain until you can remember, I guess." Asahi shrugged.

"Anyways, are you still prohibited from talking to the two guys? What were their names....? Choji and Hifumi?" He questioned.

"Baji and Chifuyu." Y/n corrected.

"Yeah, them." Asahi snapped his fingers.

"I still can't hang with them, but I will in a few days. Though...I heard there was some infighting caused by Baji and he's been banned from attending the meetings..." Y/n spoke as she stopped writing.

"Really? What happened?" Asahi asked as his brows rose.

"I don't know. I asked Mikey, but he was just as clueless." Y/n sighed.

"Damn. Guess Toman's going through something right now." Asahi sighed.

"Yeah. I wonder why." Y/n slowly nodded.

Thump!

Asahi flinched and immediately brought his hand to his head while Y/n stared in surprise at the drink placed in front of her.

"I heard you two were studying, so I decided to bring you two a drink." Hikaru smiled.

"Did you have to throw it at me?!" Asahi scowled.

"My bad. I meant to say your name, but I forgot, and I put too much force behind the throw." Hikaru awkwardly chuckled.

"Whatever." Asahi mumbled as he drank his juice.

"Why are you here though? I thought you had volleyball practice." Y/n said to Hikaru.

"Ah, I do. We have a short break though so I decided to bring you both a drink." Hikaru replied.

Beep!

"Looks like I got to go. See you two later." Hikaru smiled.

"Later." Y/n said, waving as Asahi gave a peace sign.

Hikaru left and Asahi sighed as he glanced at Y/n.

"Don't let pretty boy distract you from your work." He said.

"Yeah, yeah." Y/n huffed as her eyes shifted to the paper.

By the time the two finished their study session, it was 6:00pm/18:00. Not too late, they thought.

"You better review your notes in the morning before the test." Asahi said as they walked down the sidewalk.

"Yeah, I know. And you gotta remember their names because you keep messing them up." Y/n told him.

"I believe the names I come up with fit them better." Asahi shrugged before perking up.

"Right, I forgot." He muttered, searching through his bag.

Y/n raised a brow and blinked in surprise when Asahi held a packaged taiyaki towards her.

"You're usually hungry during our study session, so I bought this for you, but I forgot." Asahi sweat dropped.

"Ah, thanks." Y/n nodded as she accepted the snack.

However, just as she grabbed it, someone bumped into her, causing the treat to fall from her grasp. Y/n watched with her mouth agape as the packaged snack fell into the hole of the concrete and down.

"No!" She exclaimed as she got onto her knees and stared down the hole.

"Damn." Asahi blinked.

His eyes shifted to the person Y/n had collided with, but they simply walked away, not batting an eye or an apology to the girl.

"Double damn." Asahi whistled before looking at Y/n.

"You spent money on me and it went to waste...That snack could've been eaten, but now it's drowning in sewer water." Y/n sulked.

"I don't really care...Let's just go." Asahi said as he awkwardly scratched his nape.

"How could you not?!" Y/n gaped, following him as they continued walking.

"Because it wasn't mine, loser." Asahi snorted, much to Y/n's displeasure.

"Let's see what you say when the same happens to you!" Y/n scowled.

"It won't 'cause I'm not you. No one is as unlucky as you." Asahi said with a lopsided grin.

"There's gotta be. I'm also not always unlucky." Y/n frowned.

"Name a lucky moment you've had." Asahi said.

"Uhh...There's that one time we went to the zoo for my birthday-"

"You got a heatstroke and almost fell into the lion exhibit." Asahi deadpanned.

"Right...Well, what about that volleyball match-"

"Y/n. The other team's server ended up serving the ball straight towards your head. You called Shinichiro "mom" and had to be benched for the rest of the set." Asahi sighed.

"Oh yeah..." Y/n blinked as she stared up.

"You have no lucky moment." Asahi said.

"You're probably right..."

-----

~Musashi Shrine~

"What do you mean they're not here?" Y/n paused.

"Like I said, they're not here. Mikey-kun and Draken-kun are at a public bath and all the captains went to meet up with them there." Chifuyu said.

"Wow. Mikey lied. He said something totally different." Y/n huffed.

"Looks like it's just you and the vice captains. How about we do something?" Chifuyu grinned.

"Oh? Really?" Y/n raised a brow.

"Mhm!"

Y/n waddled over to the steps with Chifuyu following and when she stood on top, a few of the gang members looked over.

"Is something wrong, Y/n-san?"

"Hope you've been well!"

"As you can see, the higher-ups aren't here." Y/n started as she shoved her hands in her pockets.

"Now, don't lie to me. Do any of you want to stand up here and act like the commander? C'mon! It'll be fun!" She grinned widely.

A few of the guys seemed hesitant and others became a bit excited and joked with each other.

"I am the commander, Matsuno Chifuyu! I demand you all to save the cats!" Chifuyu exclaimed as he stepped forward.

"The cats?"

"The cats!" Chifuyu nodded.

Y/n snorted and held back her laugh as she clutched her stomach at the dumbfounded expressions on some of the guys.

Then, she yelped as Chifuyu slapped his hand on her back, making her stumble forward.

"She, who has been wronged by the savage dogs, demands that cats be saved!" Chifuyu continued.

"The cats!" Others shouted.

"Getting really eager now, are we?" Y/n grinned at Chifuyu.

"Obviously! I feel like I have so much power!" Chifuyu nodded, practically sparkling.

Y/n snorted before wearing an offended expression as Chifuyu pushed her, making her clumsily stumble down the steps. On the last step, she happened to lose balance, and as she managed to turn and avoid falling on her guitar, she instead fell face-flat onto the ground.

"Ow..." She muttered, scrunching up her nose while sitting up.

"Jeez. He's got a big head already." She huffed.

Then, she felt a tap on her shoulder and looked up.

"Hm?" She raised a brow at the long-haired boy.

The boy simply pointed somewhere and Y/n walked over, looking ahead. In the distance, headlights were viable and soon, a familiar blonde came into sight, leading a small group of guys.

"Ah! Chifuyu! They're here!" Y/n shouted, making the boy pause.

"Get back into your positions!" Chifuyu exclaimed as he quickly ran off the steps.

The others lined up and Y/n, along with the vice captains, took their place in the area near the steps.

Soon, Mikey came walking down the created path with the other higher-ups and Takemichi.

"I could've sworn I heard shouts...?" Mitsuya mumbled as he glanced at the organized members.

"Been quiet as a mouse. Must've been your head playing tricks on you." Y/n said.

"You've probably become delusional- Ack!" Chifuyu groaned as Y/n jabbed his side.

"Don't say that!" Y/n harshly whispered.

"My bad..." Chifuyu wheezed, looking at Mitsuya who awkwardly nodded.

"Alright..." Mitsuya muttered.

As Mikey made his way up the steps, Draken turned to the crowd and held his hands behind his back.

"The nomination for the Tokyo Manji Gang's Third Division Captain will now begin!" Draken shouted.

At that, the members began chattering amongst themselves.

"Wonder who's getting nominated."

"Peh-yan?"

"Like hell. He stabbed Draken-kun. He ain't getting nominated for shit!"

"Good point."

"Do you know who it is?" Chifuyu whispered to Y/n.

Y/n didn't say anything. She simply glanced at Chifuyu for a second before nodding.

"Third Division Captain! Step forward!" Mikey shouted.

It was silent for a moment as everyone waited in anticipation.

"Let's go." A voice said.

"Yes, sir!" A male nodded. "Outta the way!"

Y/n glanced over to see a tall male beckon people to the side as a shorter male followed behind him, wearing a serious expression.

When the short male got to the front, instead of addressing Mikey, he turned and sat on the steps.

"What the hell?" Chifuyu furrowed his brows.

"Kinda annoying..." Y/n muttered as she stared at the male.

It seems the other members were pissed because they began shouting at the unnamed male about his disrespect and audacity.

"Listen up, morons! The man sitting behind me is the new Third Division Captain, Kisaki Tetta!" The cronie exclaimed.

"I've seen that guy before!"

"Ain't he one of Moebius' guys?"

"That's Kisaki from Moebius!"

"The fuck's a Moebius bastard doing here?!"

"Get the fuck out, Moebius!"

"Get out!"

"Shut up!" Draken interrupted, causing the shouts to halt.

"It's Mikey's decision! If you got a problem, step forward!" He shouted.

"Our gang is going to challenge Valhalla!" Mikey spoke, all eyes on him.

"Valhalla is a rising power with numbers Moebius could only dream of. To beat them, Toman's got to become more powerful too! With Kisaki Tetta here, we've got somebody from Moebius who was in charge of the guys of our generation. We need Kisaki so we can challenge Valhalla! Kisaki Tetta is now the Third Division Captain! Remember that!"

Like that, Mikey turned on his heel and began walking away.

"This concludes the Third Division Captain nomination ceremony!" He said with finality.

Now was it that Kisaki stood, staring at Mikey.

"Leader! Thank you very much!" He bowed.

"Yeah." Mikey barely acknowledged.

Y/n felt a tap on her shoulder, and she made eye contact with Draken who nodded. Y/n returned the nod and walked past him, going up the steps and walking past Kisaki as she approached Mikey.

"Hey, you wanna buy ice cream on the way home?" Y/n whispered.

Mikey snorted, "Sure."

Whack!

"The hell's wrong with you, Takemitchy?!" Draken shouted.

Y/n and Mikey wore surprised expressions and looked back to see Takemichi glaring at Kisaki whose cheek was now bruised and glasses knocked to the ground.

"Eh?" They uttered in confusion.
