- Moon

Me and Darkstalker considered running away. Following legends like the lost continent.

Who knows if its real. But we don't have much left on Pyrrhia anyways. I have Deathbringer, thats all. And Morrowseer, but I can live without him just fine.

Darkstalker has his little sister Whiteout. From what I've heard she is a little cooky after their parents death. No one will adopt her so she stays in a orphanage.

Turns out, Darkstalker is a what some call a hybrid. The child of cross tribe breading. It's an odd term, considering Darkstalker is no mix of animals.

Neither is his sister, but thats just another reason Whiteout can't get adopted. She's ten years old. So small and innocent.

I sat infront of a fire in the middle of the woods just staring at the flames flickering.

"How can you got that long without thinking directly worded thoughts?" Darkstalker questions.

"My emotions are too strong to try and put them into words." I say softly. There is no point in sugar coating anything with Darkstalker.

On top of him knowing everything I think, he sees the world through a dark lense. Making things sound better than they are is seen stupid in his eyes.

"Still thinking about him?" it was more of a statment than a question, still I answered it.

"Always thinking about him. You think about Clearsight all the time." He falls silent. Qibli and Clearsight are touchy topics.

"So where do we go? I think I can see the lost continent. If we go it isn't just into the ocean forever. But I have no idea about any people being there. It would just be you, Whiteout, and I. Maybe Deathbringer and Glory ." I nod along with Darkstalker's words, but I wasn't fully listening.

I looked up at the starry sky. Suddenly a warm breeze blew my short hair in my face. I gently brushed away the hair from my face and smiled.

I couldn't help, but thinking of Qibli. Everything made me think of Qibli. When the wind blows jn my face I imagine him moving it out of my face.

When I feel warmth I imagine his warm embrace. It's just the way I see things now. Obessive, slightly, I will admit that. But I don't care anymore.

I just want to go to the lost continent and have a fresh start. Forget all the horrific things that happened here. Deathbringer coming with us would be amazing. But he has a life here. Or atleast one worth living.

I looked at visions to pass some time. Deathbringer just found out Qibli was left in the battle field to die. He is emotional. Right now all Deathbringer knows is that I'm dead, Qibli is dead, and Kinkajou is dead.

Turtle used his magic to hide himself. He plans on seeking for me, he saw me get captured. Yet he did nothing about it.

Turtle doesn't have much left either, but he trusts me so he intends to find me. Infact he is quite close to us now. Maybe ten miles west.

I carefully wrap my arms around my legs.

I miss Qibli.

Darkstalker sighs at my sadness. It is very stange being around Darkstalker. We can have internal converstaions. We don't even need to have conversations.

We can both see what the conversation will be before it happens anyways. I don't bother to look into the future often. Only to see how everyone back home is doing.

Suddenly I am stricken with an idea. Darkstalker looks up abruptly.

"Thats...interesting. Never thought about it like that." he says slowly. "But is it worth staying here in this misery? Not like it will bring any of them back." he challenges.

I sigh. He's right. Starting a rebellion against the war wouldn't help me. In the end it would leave me with a bigger hole in my heart.

"Let's go to the lost continent. I don't think Deathbringer will come. I will leave him a letter." I tell Darkstalker. He grins and nods.

I look down and see a piece of paper and pen have materialized in my lap. I quickly write a letter to Deathbringer.

Dear Deathbringer,

Hey, Deathbringer. It's Moon. I know this seems odd considering I'm dead. So I will explain.

I was kidnapped by Qibli's biological family in the Sand Kingdom. I was tortured to near death, starved, and mentally abused.

One day an animus, Jerboa created some form of a fake me to show Qibli I was dead. Even though I wasn't. Next thing I know I'm being dumped into battle.

I watched Kinkajou die. Also if you ever meet a Seawing named Turtle. Trust him. You don't want him on your bad side.

Finally I witnessed Qibli be stabbed in the stomach. It was by far the most horrifying thing I have ever witnessed.

Now I am going to travel to the lost continent. I have someone with me aswell. Someone I trust. But I can't ask you to drop everything and come with us. It's not fair.

So just know that I'm alive. I never died. I'm sorry this has all happened and now we are separated. I love you my brother.

Tell Glory I'm sorry about Kinkajou as well. And tell Glory Kinkajou died pursuing her dream, to be a hero.

I love you and I'm sorry.

Your sister,
Moon

A few tear drops hit the paper causing it to create water spots. I handed it to Darkstalker unsure of what to do.

"When do you wish he sees this?" he asks. "In a year. He is going through so much right now. Give him time to heal. If he sees it right now he might just follow us. But he needs to stay here." I say after a moment of thinking.

Darkstalker nods and the letter is gone. My guess the next time that letter is anywhere will be in a year with Deathbringer.

"Alright. Lets go."

"*"

We went to the Nightwing mountain. That was why I never met Darkstalker, they lived in the border. Whiteout was a small thin girl with extremely pale skin.

She had long curly white hair with black highlights. Whiteout had deep blue purplish eyes. She was mesmerizing.

But her thoughts were fascinating. She looked at the world through such an odd way. It was indescribable.

She grins widely the moment she saw Darkstalker.

"Whiteout!" Darkstalker exclaimed. She jumps into his arms and he twirls her around. I smiled.

A lady at the desk frowned. "Sir you need to leave." she said grouchily.

Now it was Darkstalker's turn to frown. "Actually, I am now twenty years old. I can legally adopt her." he retorted.

"She need two parental figures to adopt right now at this age." the woman says.

Darkstalker scowls. "I'm the other. Whiteout will be coming with us." I interject. The lady looks at me. I vaguely recognize her.

She grins evily at me. "Moon, what a surprise to see you. I see you've finally given up on that horrid Sandwing. It was quite a tragedy when the Nightwings found out."

I clench my fists.

Can I kill her now?

Darkstalker surpresses a smile and subtly shakes his head. "I haven't given up on anyone miss. Qibli was lost in battle. The Sandwing prince was murdered, I don't recommend musing over it." I say calmly.

Her smile drops. Disrespecting a royal after their death isn't exactly something you should do. Some have even gotten whipped for it.

After we signed a couple of papers, Whiteout was leaving with us. All she had was a paintbrush.

Turns out she us really good at painting. We explain our plan. It doesn't seem like much goes through to her, but she gets it.

Tragedy causes decisions. Better or worse death will eventually follow all actions.

That was an example of something she woudl think. Again fascinating.

So the next day. We set off towards the lost continent. Just us three against the world.

I winced thinking of that.

It was supposed to be me and Qibli against the world.

I needed to stop having these thoughts if I ever wanted to heal from this loss. We built a sturdy boat and started off.

Why we couldn't just appear on the lost continent with Darkstalker's magic I wasn't sure. But I didn't dare think the idea within range of him. I didn't want to seem as if I was using his powers for my own good.

The boat made me extremely sea sick. I never ride boats so this was a new experience.

But after many days of traveling, we finally arrived on the lost continent.

I gasped. It was like the desert. But not sandy, just dry. But to my left was a big lushus forest.

"It's real!" I exclaimed. Darkstalker grinned. I climbed out of the boat quickly and layed in the soft grass.

This is so beautiful. This could be my new home. I can be happy here.

A twig snapped and I was immediately on my feet. Darkstalker had his hands raised defensively.

A tall muscular woman with golden blonde hair and dark skin appeard. She had a green outfit of some type. Less civilzed than our clothes.

She narrowed her eyes and us and reached into a pouch.

What are these people? No Hivewings. Hybrid possibly? But thats illegal!

"Stop! We pose no threat." I shout. Her hand freezes in her pocket.

"What are you?" she grumbles. I sigh.

"We are from a different continent called Pyrrhia. There is a war going on. We have lost all we know. We came here to seek a new home." I say slowly.

More twigs snap. "Sundew! Where are you?!" Sundew groans and whips around.

"Cricket shut your mouth!" she growls. Cricket's eyes widen at the sight of us. This girl had curly brown hair with golden highlights. She had olive brown skin and glasses. Her outfit consisted of black and gold.

"People from another continent." Sundew says to her.

WHAT?! THEY ARE REAL?! HOW ARE THEY HERE?! CAN I STUDY THEM?!

I smile at Cricket's curiosity. "My name is Moon. This is Darkstalker. And his little sister Whiteout." I explain.

Cricket approaches us. "Can you tell me everything?" she asks. I smile and nod. She looked about my age. Maybe seventeen.

"There are seven tribes back on Pyrrhia. Skywings, Mudwings, Seawings, Rainwings, Sandwings, Icewings, and Nightwings. I am a Nightwing. These two are offsprings of Icewings and Nightwings." I say to her.

Her pupils dialate as I speak. "Right now we are at war. Skywings and Icewings. Allied with the Skywings are the Mudwings, Seawings, and half the Rainwings. The rest of us are on the Icewings side." Darkstalker tells her.

"When you turn sixteen, they take you into initiation for three years. After those years they decide who fights and who dies." I add.

"After some battles, we lost many people who love. There is nothing left for us back there." Darkstalker said grimly.

I swallow hard.

Sundew and Cricket nod. "Can we stay here?" Whiteout squeaks. Cricket grins and nods.

"Of course! I should tell you about our continent Pantala."

Pantala. Our new home. What do you think Darkstalker?

Its different. I'll say that. The Sundew girl is giving me nerves though. She looks like she wants and knows how to kill me in atleast ten different ways. All of which will fail.

"We have three tribes. Hivewings, Silkwings, and Leafwings. Hivewings govern our continent. Silkwings are usually merchants and farmers. Leafwings were originally slaves, but after alot of fighting they gained many rights. Now they have similar jobs to the Silkings." Cricket says giddily.

"I'm a low class Hivewing. Which means I get treated better than the other tribes. Which is sick. But pretty badly within my own tribe. So I live with Sundew. You mentioned something about cross tribe offsprings? Thats forbidden here. Especially for Hivewings." Cricket says the last part gloomily.

Images of a handsome boy with dark black hair that looks blue flash through her mind. He had bright blue eyes as well. Shockingly his name was Blue. She loved him. But being a Hivewing it was dangerous to love him. For both their sakes.

I nod slowly. Darkstalker is amused by the tragic love story between those two.

"Cross tribe love isn't illegal in Pyrrhia. Just not common. It doesn't usually work out. Most end up splitting up due to not wanting to live in certain places or eat certain food." I say.

Cricket analyzed my face. Sundew is the one to speak up though. "You speak from experience?"

My heart stings and I wince. Don't you dare cry Moon.

"When I went through initiation I met someone. A Sandwing." I tell them slowly. They wait for more context but I give no more.

"Let me take you back to the village. Belladonna will be wondering what is taking so long." Sundew says.

As we walk back Darkstalker puts a hand on my shoulder. I sniff and squeeze my eyes shut to hold in my emotions.

Cricket glances back at us right then.

Hm, she must have cared about him. Sandwing? Wonder what he looks like? Bet he broke up with her. She seems sweet though.

Cricket's observations don't help me.

But I will get over it. This is my new start. Lets hope I don't mess this one up too.

Idk why but I luv this chapter (: Hope you enjoyed. 2256 words.
