Kawaii-Chan's POV:
Today's the day of the unveiling of Brielle's memorial and I haven't actually seen what it looks like right now and I couldn't help but wonder what it's going to look like.
I chose to wear one of the dresses that Brielle had designed for me not too long before her passing and a pair of heels that she always thought were beautiful.
The dress is a floor length baby pink gown with white flowers from the bottom of it and some details on the torso with a a collared mesh mermaid length cape with it.
My heels are pink stilettos with white detailing running throughout it, adjusting them I stood up with my hair pulled back into a half up half down style Brielle used to wear her hair in all the time.
Turning around, I walked towards the door and heard voices outside, opening it two maids jumped and I noticed they were still in their uniforms and raised a brow.
"Your majesty" They greeted and bowed to me.
"No need to bow to me, you are my equals. Now why aren't you both ready for the unveiling?" I asked, their eyes widened as they stood there staring at me for a moment.
"Your majesty we had no idea if yo-" I shook my head, they stopped talking.
"Go get ready, you all are welcome and should not assume otherwise. Let everyone else know and I'll see you all there shortly" They thanked me and I walked past them without another word.
After the unveiling was done, I'm going to spend some more time with Zane who was still resting and I didn't want to disturb him currently while he sleeps.
Walking down the hallway, I seen the few photos Kia had hung up around of Brielle with everyone along with the paintings that were done for Brielle's room.
I smiled as I passed the one that had went up just days after her passing, she requested it earlier in the week and I'm sad that she was never able to see how it turned out.
Walking down the stairs, I was greeted by Eyrx and smiled at him, relieved that everything ahd gone back to normal since everything happened between us.
He nodded his head and I smiled, we started walking and I stopped when he walked behind me, I hated when he did that but left it alone until we were back to normal.
Turning to face him, he smiled and stepped next to me and we continued our walk out of the castle and to the entrance of the castle where the memorial will be.
There was also another surprise that I had no idea of but Kia set it up with the people of Tu'la's help and insisted on keeping it a secret until the unveiling.
Everyone was already lined up waiting patiently and dressed in their nicest clothes as I walked down the steps and smiled at everyone.
Stopping next to Kia, I looked up at the covered memorial and then looked around at everyone noticing a large spot covered nearby with Mehkin and Malyk standing by it.
I looked out at everyone and waited until everyone from the castle had arrived and took their places with that Kia grabbed my hand and squeezed it tightly as we stepped forward.
"Thank you all for coming! I know how loved Brielle was throughout the Kingdom and I'm so grateful for all the people who helped make this memorial for her and for coming up with the idea to do this!" I said loudly.
Everyone smiled as I looked at Kia and she smiled as we stepped forward grabbing the rope together and took a deep breath before we tugged on it and the large cloth fell.
I smiled as I looked up at it with tears forming in my eyes, I could see her necklace on it and she was reading but what caught my attention the most was the smaller statue next to me.
It's Brielle and I.
Kia smiled as she watched my reaction, it's based off when Brielle used to read to me when I was a little girl and I smiled wider as I stared up at it without another word.
Brielle's statute was just perfect and she had a smile on hre face as she held onto the book in one hand and held onto my hand in the other as it looked we were mid walk.
I looked down to see a plaque on it surrounded by a beautiful garden with all of her favourite flowers in it, I stepped a little closer to read the plaque.
Born not from my very own flesh and blood. But born to be in our hearts forever. From now until the end of my days, she is my daughter and has my heart. –Brielle.
I smiled wider and Kia grabbed my arms and I turned to face her, she had a huge smile on her face and spun me around to face the surprise she had set up.
"You ready?" She asked, I nodded my head and she gave Mehkin and Malyk a thumbs up, I watched them both smile and pulled on the ropes as it fell to the ground.
My eyes widened and I gasped, covering my mouth as I stared at the gorgeous building in front of me and everyone started clapping and whispering about how amazing it is.
Brielle's Books.
I walked towards it and looked in to see everything Brielle used to talk about wanting if she ever could open her own bookstore and I smiled a tear sliding down my face.
"You all built her a bookstore?" I asked turning to face everyone of Tu'la, they all nodded their heads quickly with smiles on their faces and Imana stood next to Kia.
"When Kia come to us about this we knew it'd be the perfect way to honour Brielle as well. We all adored and loved Brielle and still do and we also all love and adore you as well your majesty. This is our way of honouring her and thanking her for raising you to be the wonderful and loving queen we have today" Imana explained, everyone agreed.
A tear slid down my face as i smiled at everyone before rushing forward and wrapping my arms around both Kia and Imana, everyone watched us with smiles on their faces.
"Thank you" I whispered, they hugged me back and a few moments later, I pulled back to look at everyone else with a smile on my face and stopped forward.
"Thank you all! I'd like to invite you all into the castle for a celebration of Brielle's life!" Everyone agreed and I watched them begin making their way towards the castle with smiles still on their faces.
I told Kia to go ahead and greet everyone and stayed in place, turning around I looked at the bookstore with a smile on my face as I seen some of her favourite quotes written onto the windows.
Looking down I seen a basket with flowers in it, I stepped forward and ran my fingers over the Tu'lan roses that Brielle always adored and just felt happy knowing this how Brielle will be honoured.
"Princess" My eyes widened and I turned around to see Zane standing there completely alone and was standing up completely straight without being hunched over.
My lips parted and a gasp fell from my lips.
"You're standing on your own Zane" I said, he nodded his head.
"I am" I let out a laugh of happiness and ran towards him, I couldn't stop myself from crashing into him and wrapping my arms tightly around his neck.
He caught me and wrapped his arms tightly around me and lifted me up off the ground, this day was meant to be full of celebrations to honour Brielle and now Zane is better.
"This is wonderful! How are you feeling?" I asked quickly pulling back as I looked up, there was still some bruises on him but they were almost completely gone.
"Not completely there but better" He answered, I smiled wider and jumped forward wrapping my arms tightly around him again, he chuckled at my reaction and hugged me back.
I squeezed him tight for a moment just happy that he was up and moving around again and was able to do so on his own after a month of needing to rely on everyone else for help.
"I know you want to celebrate Brielle's life Kawaii-Chan, however I do want to explain myself. I want to explain everything that happened, if you'll let me" I pulled back from the hug and stared at him for a moment.
"Okay" I whispered, he ushered towards the pathway and we started walking together along it towards the castle that way we'd be nearby for when we were done speaking.
"Lucinda told me about it, when you sent her to warn me" I blurted out, I needed him to know that I knew a bit about why he did what he had done four months ago.
"She did?" He asked, I nodded my head.
"When she showed up, I told her to get out once she had told me you sent her until she explained more. She told me that the day I was kidnapped you went to Bastian to get out of this to stay with me" He looked down at the ground and we continued walking.
"She told me how you only stayed to do whatever Bastian wanted because I hated you and banished you.....Zane I never hated you, I was angry at you but I couldn't hate you" I admitted.
We stopped in the gardens next to the castle and I looked up at him, I smiled sadly and pushed some of my hair over my shoulders as I took a deep breath.
"I'm not going to stand here and tell you it did not hurt me, it truly did hurt me hearing you say those things. And when I banished you, I did it because it'd be easier to stay away from you knowing you couldn't come into Tu'la. However I never told anyone but Brielle and Aphmau about your banishment, and they felt like there was more to it. It wasn't until Lucinda told me a bit more that I realized maybe somehow there was more to the reasoning behind what you did. So, is there?" He nodded his head.
"Bastian was angry that I had backed out, he needed because I'm the only one who could ever wield the magicks he wanted and he needed me to complete his plan so when I backed out and left he needed to get me back. He used you to do it and the only way for you to get your freedom back was for me to make you hate me.....I never meant any of those things I said to you Kawaii-Chan and it was extremely hard for me to even get the words out with how upset you looked. And I wanted to explain everything to you when he dropped us near Tu'la again but you were so angry that you wouldn't list to anything and I couldn't go after you or else you'd have the guards arrest me so I backed off" He explained, I nodded my head and let out a breath.
"What happened afterwards?" I asked.
"I went back and I will admit I attacked him and only backed off when he told me he'd kill you. During the months I tried to contact you, but you didn't want that so when I found out his plan, I sent Lucinda. In fact Bastian locked me up so I couldn't warn you and Lucinda was kind enough to go to you about it and all I could do was hope that you were going to listen to her. I'm grateful you did and broke free to get there without him ever knowing. I knew you were angry at me but I needed to be there to do whatever I could to help or protect you. Though I had no idea you could harness the powers from the crystal" I smiled and laughed nervously.
"Surprise?" I said in a questioning tone, he only smiled.
"I should've known you were her descendant when you touched the crystal it showed up....I just didn't think through it. I thought he had killed you when he showed up with blood on his sword and I attacked him with your brothers before he was attacked by you. I was relieved and for a moment I thought that maybe I'd be able to explain everything to you once this was over until he did what he did. I only rememeber grabbing Kia and dropping a potion over us both before covering her to avoid her taking the brunt of it all. I just remember thinking that I'd never get to explain my side to you" He explained.
"Again I never hated you Zane......I will admit that I wanted to hate you.....but I couldn't. And when Kia told me it was you I really thought I'd never get to see you again and you'd never know how sorry I was for everything. I should've known there was more too it but I was just so angry that you had said things to me that I was so scared were the truth and everything was a lie between us. It was easier to banish you and I'm sorry for that....techinally you are still banished from Tu'la" He shook his head at me.
"Are you kicking me out?" He asked, I laughed and shook my head.
"I guess you can stay" He laughed and nodded to the doors to the castle and we started walking.
"We'll talk more after, let's go celebrate Brielle's life" I agreed and we walked back into the castle to join everyone else.
