The gang was watching shows with Splinter in the living room.
Y/n and Mikey were sharing a bucket of popcorn next to Splinter's chair, whispering to each other ever so often. Leo was lounging on a bean bag next to Donnie reading a comic. Donnie, also holed up in a bean bag, and was fiddling with a small invention that no one could really see. While Raph was sitting on the floor, knees to his plastron, in front and a little to the side of Splinter's chair, shell against the armrest.
Ever so often when Y/n would start quietly giggling with Mikey about something, Leo would look over. Though he would never admit it, he found himself growing jealous whenever someone else would make Y/n laugh. The itch to one-up them with one of his one liners or jokes growing, since he knew Y/n almost always laughed at them.
But, it was just Mikey. Leo knew Mikey and Y/n were always close. They'd opened up to him first about almost everything. The only thing Leo got to know first was their fear of roaches, and that was only because they were in his room reading comics when they saw one, Y/n ended up taking one of his swords and trying to stab it to death.
Fun times.
He tried not to worry about it too much, Y/n was slow to open up to everyone, even Mikey with his 'You can tell me everything' vibes.
Plus, he'd like to think they've grown closer, they certainly started hanging out with him one on one more often, but then again he was the only one he knew with such an expansive collection of comics for Y/n to read and enjoy.
Leo and everyone else were interrupted by the sudden noise of someone coming into the lair, they all turned. Soon greeted with an out of breath April, and someone who looked to be either dead or unconscious slung over her back.
"Oh-mi-gosh!" Mikey shouted, pointing at the strangely dressed person, "He's dead!!"
"He's not dead! Just... unconscious." April muttered, still shaken and gripping the odd picture in her hand.
"Why did you bring him here??" Leo screeched, "What if he wakes up?? Then he'll know about the whole mutant situation!!"
"Because!" April shouted, "I- I didn't know what to do okay?!" She gestures wildly, dropping the guy on a nearby chair.
"Tell us what happened, slowly." Y/n advised, putting an arm around April's shoulders in an attempt to comfort their friend..
April nodded "Okay..." She took a deep breath, and began telling them about her weird encounter.
[Insert flashback college scenes here. I'm sorry, this is already so much y'all... It's just what happens in the movie.]
"And then I saw that picture and I brought him here." April explained. Undenounced to them, the boy, who was now tied up in a chair, was gaining consciousness.
"Sensei?" Casey questioned hoarsely, causing Leo to yelp and jump back, as the others quickly take notice.
"It's you! It's all of you! Together! I never thought I'd see you again! I'm so happy I could hug all of you!" He said practically jumping in his chair, as a result of this he falls forward. Raph picks him up, a hand remaining on the chair.
The projector falls from the ceiling and turns on, creating an intense interrogation vibe. Raph tries to use the vibe and his size to look intimidating.
Which he was... mostly anyway.
"Who are you? And why do you have a picture of us?" Raph questioned, looking at him suspiciously. Holding the said picture up.
"Yeah, who took this? 'Cause I look great." Leo said, flicking his mask tails confidently and winking at Y/n. Making them feel a bit of heat come to their cheeks as they quickly look away. Raph rubs the space in between his eyes, obviously frustrated.
Mikey jumped into the fray "What's your favorite pizza? 'Cause I'm ordering right now." He said, raising his eyebrows up and down at Casey, while pulling up the pizza place's contact in his phone.
"And why are you wearing Genius Built Apparel?!" He shouted, "That's trademarked!" He said with a hiss, slamming his hand down. While doing so he sets off the grappling cable feature. It zips through the room, hitting Donnie in the face while doing so.
"Grappling hook!"
"Oh mi gosh!"
"What's going on??"
The grappling hook finally attaches to the ceiling above him. Pulling Casey upside down. As he swings back and forth in the chair, chaos ensues.
"He's trying to escape!!" Mikey shouts pointing to him dramatically.
"Want me to knock him out again?" April asks, readying to hit him.
"Let me." Raph says lowly, also readying to take a whack at him.
"Donnie? Donnie?!" Mikey shouts, shaking his brother who was on the ground.
"Oh okay." April relents, deciding to let Raph have this one.
"Does anyone else think his chest plate looks like turtle plastron??"
Splinter starts furiously eating Mikey and Y/n's leftover popcorn. Leo tries to take some, but gets smacked away by his rat tail.
"W-WAIT! STOP! I'm a friend! Let me explain." He desperately cries, his swinging coming to an almost complete stop.
Everyone freezes and all eyes go to him.
Casey takes a deep breath, "Let's start over. My name is Casey Jones, and the reason I have that photo and your tech is because you gave it to me, just not yet! Because I'm from... the future." He explains dramatically.
To which everyone bursts out laughing.
"This isn't a joke!" Casey insists exasperatingly. Donnie goes over to Casey, spinning him and cutting the rope he's dangling from with his Spider Shell, then setting him back on the floor.
"Oh please, if time travel is possible, Future Donnie would have come back and already given me all the lottery numbers like we planned." Donnie said, tapping the side of his head, sliding away comically.
"It's true! I need you to believe me! Humanity depends on it! In the future, an alien race decimated the planet. We were hunted. We lived in caves. We ate rats." He looked at Splinter, "No offense."
Splinter shook his head "None taken. We are delicious!" He said throwing more popcorn into his mouth.
"I know how this sounds," Casey said desperately looking to Leo, "but Master Leonardo gave me a mission."
Leo looked to Raph, smirking smugly, "I do like how he calls me master." Causing Raph to roll his eyes.
"Of course I do! You're the greatest ninja the world has ever seen! You told me to find the key and stop the Krang." Casey said hopefully.
"Aliens! Pft! Sure, this story just keeps on getting better," April says dismissing it, until Splinter turns off the projector, suddenly looking serious. "Splints?"
"The Krang?" Casey nods, "I have heard that name. Powerful, barbaric creatures worshiped by the Foot clan. Legends say they came from the stars..." Splinter begins going into what Y/n calls 'story mode' as they all lean in to listen intently, glancing at each other.
"Ruthless, unmerciful with one desire: to enslave our world like so many before us. All seemed lost, until great mystic warriors forged a mighty weapon. A key that was used to lock them in a prison dimension beyond this realm. Over the centuries, the mystic key remained hidden to protect mankind and prevent the return of... the Krang."
"So..."
"Future boy is really from the future?" April says, turning to look at him.
"That's insane..." Y/n murmurs, "This is like the plot of some sci-fi movie..."
"Mind.." Mikey mimics an explosion, causing Y/n to chuckle slightly despite the serious situation.
"Somebody finds the key! Today! They steal it and use it to open a doorway and free the Krang! That's why I came back, to find it first! Master Leonardo drew a picture of it on the back of that photo. So, to stop the Krang, all we have to do is find the key before it's stolen!" Casey says rather excitedly, now hopefully about their odds.
Raph looks down at the picture in his hand, flipping it over so everyone could see the drawing. Everyone immediately deadpans as they see the drawing, looking at Leo, who starts sweating, tapping two fingers together at chest level.
"What?" Casey asks, deflating a little at their reactions.
"Yeah, um, did future, handsome, amazing me tell you what to do if that already happened? 'Cause that already happened?" He anxiously said.
Annoyed, Splinter flicks a piece of popcorn at Leo's head.
Casey's eyes widened, "Oh no, we're too late!"
"No we're not! Because we know who has the key: the foot clan! Okay team, we gotta find them before they use it. And this time, we do it together." Raph stands up and looks pointedly towards Leo.
They begin to leave with Leo mimicking Raph under his breath. But as they leave Casey calls to them, still tied up in the chair.
"Uh, can someone untie me now?" He questions. He tips too far forward in the chair and falls forward.
Before he can hit the ground Y/n catches him. He looks up at them, and they give him a small smile. They take out a tanto blade, cutting the rope, freeing him.
"Thank you.." he said, trailing off quietly, as he stretched his aching shoulders.
"Y/n" They said with a smile, not knowing if he recognized them or not by his tone, trying not to think about what him not recognizing them implies.
"Y/n??" His voice cracked at the name, sounding kind of shocked to them.
"Um... yeah." They nodded nervously, as they both headed out to follow everyone.
"I guess I sho-" They both bumped into Raph who was standing, frozen, in one of the doorways, looking up at something.
"Casey Jr. where is he? He should be here!" A concerned voice came from someone in front of Raph and the rest of the group spoke hurriedly. Though they couldn't really see who it was. Casey practically jumped at the sound of the voice, rushing to push past everyone, Y/n following close behind him.
Future Y/n stood tall in the entryway to the lair, looking on with a sad determination as they gazed forward at the group that had formed a half circle in front of them; they couldn't believe they were really standing in front of younger versions of their now dead family.
F/Y/n (Future Y/n)'s tall feathery form being a shock to the turtles and co. in front of them. Donnie was rubbing his eyes to see if they were actually real, Mikey looked somewhat excited as he gazed at them with wide eyes, Raph was shocked to meet someone taller than him, and Leo was still a little skeptical. Splinter and April looked just as bewildered.
Until two new people pushed to the front, breaking them out of the initial shock.
Casey rushed into F/Y/n's embrace, wrapping his arms around them. Feeling the soft familiar feathers and feeling their wings circle around him comfortingly almost broke him. They bent down and rubbed their cheek against the top of his head, cooing slightly. Both were happy to see that the other was okay.
Meanwhile the group stood there, watching the two curiously. Not really knowing what to do. Y/n stood next to Raph and Donnie, shifting their weight back and forth from one foot to the other, not knowing how to react to the feathery mutant.
"Ahem." Raph coughed awkwardly.
The two pulled away, but still stood near each other, Y/n keeping a wing still around him, just to make sure he didn't disappear.
"Alright well," Casey started awkwardly, "everyone, this is my mentor and caretaker, Y/n."
A stunned silence fell over the room.
"What?"
"Huh?"
"I'm a hawk?!?!"
"Fascinating!"
"Y/n's part of the mutant family!!"
"They're so tall..."
Everyone starts talking at once, forgetting for a moment about the task at hand, and focusing more on this massive Y/n lore drop.
"Guys!" F/Y/n screeched, seemingly the only who remembered they didn't have much time.
The talking came to an immediate halt. Silence filled the room as they all looked to F/Y/n, even Splinter stayed silent.
"As much as I'd love to answer all your questions," they looked mainly at Donnie as they said that, "We have to save the world first. Then, if we aren't dead. I'll tell you everything you want to know."
