Summary: With the leading events of what happened a week ago, Erdrick asks Byleth out on a date. Their relationship getting stronger than ever and Erdrick gets the courage to confess his feelings to Byleth near the end of their date.

It's been a week since Byleth has told Erdrick of how she felt, as she cried into her hero's arms. It just felt like a whole dream that Byleth had woken up to, it was a miracle that Erdrick cheered her up. That her hero was there for her no matter what, that her best friend was there for Byleth when she was at her worst. She felt like her whole world was filled with light and happiness, she couldn't be anymore happier.
Byleth felt a lot better since then, she saw Erdrick a lot more recently. She saw him on the battlefield and whenever she was in her dorm, Erdrick would always check up on her. Byleth loved him, she loved him so much. Byleth would get butterflies in her stomach whenever Erdrick would comfort her with his warm smile and his gentle voice, whenever he would team up with her in battle and that he would always be there for her. Byleth loved the hero, she always loved him.
That was until Erdrick asked her out not too long ago, it was a surprise to her that Erdrick asked her out again. Considering that this was the 2nd time that the hero asked his best friend out on a date.
Flashback
"Byleth?" Erdrick spoke as he ran up to her.
"Yes Erdrick?" Byleth responds back to him, her hands in her pockets of her shorts.
"I.. uh.. I have been meaning to ask of you. If you would like to go and get some lunch with me? Sometime next week?" Erdrick confesses, his cheeks burning up with a bright tint of red.
"Yes! I would love to Erdrick!!" Byleth adds with happiness in her voice.
Flashback ends
Byleth still couldn't believe that Erdrick asked her out again, she loved those little dates with him. The way that he would always get her favorite food and drinks would always make Byleth happy, she loved it and she couldn't be anymore happier to see Erdrick again.
Byleth was currently getting ready in her dorm. She already had her outfit on, but she wanted to change her hairstyle as well. So she brushed it with her hairbrush, feeling the spikes of the brush between her hair.
She tied her hair up in a high ponytail, looking at herself in the mirror. She smiled as she grabbed her perfume and sprayed some on herself, getting off from the chair to grab her bag. Once Byleth got everything ready and settled in, looking at the mirror again. To see if her outfit was good for the date.

Byleth beamed once more as she was all settled in for her date, she walked to the door. Taking a deep breath, her heart pounding out of her chest. The girl was even more nervous than the last time that Erdrick took her out on a date, but she calmed herself down as she put her hand on the doorknob, turning it and opening the door. The first thing she saw was Erdrick, who was holding a bouquet of flowers in his hands. She didn't know that Erdrick would be in front of the door waiting for her.
"Hi Erdrick!" Byleth greeted in a soft tone to her voice.
Erdrick's cheeks were a bright red from the sight of seeing Byleth again, he took a deep breath, trying to get the words out of his mouth.
"Hey Byleth! You look.." Erdrick responded, his voice was soft and low. His heart was beating rapidly, the hero could feel his cheeks burning. He took a chance to take a look at Byleth's features, her hair was in a high ponytail. The pink blush she had on her cheeks and the matching star earrings that she wore complimented her outfit. A light shade of coral lipstick was on her lips, it was just perfect. Byleth looked like a goddess, an angel. The thought of this made Erdrick blush even more, his heart pounding. He felt like his heart was going to explode in his chest.
"You look stunning In that outfit Byleth, it looks amazing on you!" Erdrick finally spoke as he handed her the bouquet of flowers.
Byleth's cheeks were heating up, a bright tint of pink forms on her cheeks. The girl smiles back at him, now holding the bouquet of flowers in her hands. Smelling how fresh it was, Byleth glanced back at the hero. "Aww thank you Erdrick! I-I'm flattered! And thank you for the flowers! It's so beautiful!" Byleth continued, as she opens the door again to put the bouquet of flowers away.
Byleth closes the door again, "You look great Erdrick! That outfit suits you!" Byleth added. With a smile on her face, lighting up the whole room. Byleth noticed that Erdrick was wearing a light blue hoodie with a white shirt underneath, blue jeans and blue sneakers. It suited him well and she liked his outfit a lot.
Erdrick's cheeks were heating up once more as he tried not to blush so much from Byleth's kind words, "Thank you Byleth.. I appreciate it!" Erdrick continued. "Do you wanna get going?" The hero questions, Byleth nods. "Sure let's get going!" Byleth continues, Erdrick smiles as he leads Byleth out of the hallway. Going downstairs, Byleth was right behind him the whole time. Once they got the first floor, they exited the mansion together.
Erdrick wanted to take Byleth to her favorite coffee shop first, to get some things off of their mind and he thought it would be a great idea to take her to downtown. To, whatever Byleth's heart desires.
"So, where to first Erdrick? You got anything in mind?" Byleth asks, taking a look at him.
Erdrick heard the voice as he looked at her back, he had a small grin on his face.
"You know that coffee shop you always liked Byleth?" Erdrick continues, starting off the conversation strong.
Byleth had a huge smile on her face, her eyes sparkling like diamonds.
"Yeah!" Byleth added, she knew where this was going.
"How about we go there? I remember you telling me how you always wanted to go there!" Erdrick continues once more.
Byleth squealed in excitement, Erdrick knew that he would remember one of the coffee shops that she always wanted to go to. Byleth couldn't keep her excitement in anymore.
"Yes! Let's go! I've always wanted to go there! Let's go Erdrick!" Byleth exclaims, holding his wrist and running to the coffee shop. "Byleth! S-slow down!" Erdrick calls out to her, almost losing his balance. But he saw of how happy Byleth looked, he never seen her this happy before. But, he loved it. Erdrick loved seeing Byleth happy, being herself. He loved seeing her happy and that's what makes him happy too.
Once they finally arrived to the coffee shop, Byleth took a look of how it was designed. It looked pretty new and it had good ratings on the website, the coffee's and the Frappuccino's were also pretty good as well. Byleth took a breath as she turned around to see that Erdrick was catching his breath, from running so much.
"You.. you run.. pretty fast Byleth.." Erdrick spoke between breaths.
"I'm sorry! I didn't realize how fast I was going, I hope you didn't mind Erdrick that I was running too fast" Byleth explains, now feeling a bit guilty, playing with a strain of her hair to distract herself.
"Hey it's fine Byleth! I don't mind! Now shall we go inside?" Erdrick asks.
Byleth nods, as Erdrick opens the door for her. Byleth thanked him as she walks inside, Erdrick walking beside her. The door closes as the cashier woman welcomes them, the two walked up to the cashier to take their order. "Hi! Can I have a Caramel Ribbon Crunch Creme Frappuccino please?" Byleth asks, "Okay! And how about you?" The cashier woman asks once more, "I'll have a Mocha Cookie Crumble Frappuccino!" Erdrick says.
"Alright! Anything else?" The woman asks.
"Byleth do you want anything else?" Erdrick questions.
Byleth shakes her head, "No I'm fine!" The girl says.
"No that's all!" The hero adds.
"Alright! So your total is.. $14.90!" The cashier woman concludes.
Erdrick pulls out his wallet to get the money out, he hands it to the woman. "Alright, your order will be ready soon!" She says.
Byleth walks around to find a table for them to sit, she takes a look around. It wasn't that packed, considering it was 4:00 PM on a Friday afternoon. She found a table by the window, she smiled as she walked to it and sat down. Her hands on her sides while she waits for Erdrick to come by, Erdrick saw the girl by the table. He walked towards her as he sat down on the chair and looked at her.
"So, do you go out to get a cup of coffee often Byleth?" Erdrick questions as he puts his hand under his chin, starting off the conversation. "Yeah! It helps me to start off my day and it wakes me up in the morning! I know that Akira makes coffee considering he works at a coffee shop back at his place" Byleth responds back to him taking off her purse and putting it on the side of the chair. The bag is almost touching the floor, the two continue their conversation until their order was up.
"Order for Byleth!" One of the employees called out.
Byleth got up from her seat, Erdrick getting up as well.
"Hey, I'll get the drinks! I don't want your hands to get cold while holding them" Erdrick orders.
"Oh! Thank you Erdrick!" Byleth thanked him, now sitting back in her seat.
Erdrick got the drinks as he held them in his hands, walking towards the table that Byleth was at.
"Here you go Byleth!" Erdrick says as he places the drink onto the table.
Byleth's eyes sparkled, a smile forms across her face. Happy that her drink was ready.
"Thank you Erdrick!" Byleth adds as she drinks her frappuccino, the caramel flavor, the vanilla whipped cream filled her taste buds as she drank it happily. Erdrick noticed this and smiled, a small tint of red forms on his cheeks, blushing. The hero drank his frappuccino as well, seeing how happy Byleth looked. The hero's heart skipped a beat, head over heels for her. He was so in love with her.
Byleth stopped drinking her Frappuccino for a moment to mix the whipped cream into the drink. She mixed it with her straw, her eyes narrowing at Erdrick. His cheeks were red and had a smile on his face. The girl smiled as she let out a small giggle, snapping the hero out of his thoughts. "Enjoying your drink there Erdrick?" Byleth teased, giggling softly.
This caused Erdrick to blush even more, looking away. Obviously flustered by her sweet presence, "Yeah it's good.." Erdrick responded back as he drank his Frappuccino, looking into her indigo eyes.
Byleth smiled once more, enjoying her time with the hero. She loved it, she loved every moment with him.
As the two finished drinking their drinks, Erdrick payed the bill as the two walked out of the café. The summer air flew between them, "That was really good! Thank you for taking me here Erdrick!" Byleth says, her voice filled with glee and happiness.
Erdrick chuckles, seeing how happy Byleth was. "It's no problem! So where do you want to go next?" Erdrick asks, Byleth puts a hand on her hip and thinks for a moment. Wondering where to go next, then an idea pops up. She turns to face the hero, her eyes sparkling with excitement.
"Let's go to downtown! I heard that there are so many gift shops there! Plus there's a park in there too!" Byleth bursts in excitement, a bright smile forms on her lips, her eyes sparkling like stars.
Erdrick chuckles, "Sure let's go! I'm sure we can find many things there! Plus the scenery and the food there is great too!" Erdrick adds.
The girl smiles as she paces across the sidewalk excitedly, Erdrick walking behind her. Watching her as Byleth happily skipped on the sidewalk until they reached downtown of Smash-Vile.
There was so many buildings, restaurants, gift shops, museums and so much more. Byleth stopped, seeing all of the pretty lights and hearing the music that went through her ears. It was a calming feeling, hearing all of the fighters from different universes laugh and having fun. Byleth's heart started to beat a little, thinking about her and Erdrick being together.
Not just as friends.
But something.. more.
Her cheeks were heating up as bright tint of red forms on her cheeks, thinking about the hero already made her starstruck. She wanted to be with him, Byleth never had these type of feelings for someone before, not even love. She had never experienced love or having a crush on someone back at Fódlan, she was too busy fighting alongside her father before he passed away years ago. Byleth was invited to the smash roster, also being busy with fighting with fighters she saw and becoming friends with them.
She had never been in love with anyone before
And Erdrick changed that, he made her world brighter and more beautiful than it ever was before.
It was like daylight.
That Byleth found the one, the one that she had been dreaming about.
Pining, yearning for, the one that will listen to what she has on her mind. The one that she could call home, she found her hero.
And it was Erdrick.
Byleth smiled from the thought of him and her daydreaming about him, oh. Of how she could be with him forever and to spend every moment with him, but she feared about something.
About losing Erdrick.
Byleth hoped to not lose him, she didn't want to lose the hero. She planned to confess to him after the date but she fears that he may not like her back and that he will not be friends with her anymore, throwing the friendship away in the dust.
But she was overthinking it, it was obvious that Erdrick liked her. He loved her, Terry and Cloud knew that the hero liked Byleth in return. It was the same for Zelda and Lucina who also knew that Erdrick liked Byleth back, but Byleth knew that he liked her and Erdrick liked her as well.
"Byleth?"
A muffled voice was calling Byleth's name, snapping out of her thoughts. She started off into space, looking into the sky as Erdrick called her name again.
"Byleth? Byleth!"
That one last sentence truly got Byleth out of her thoughts as she jumped and turned around to face him, "Ah! What?" Byleth stuttered. In shock, getting her mind out of her thoughts. The redness from her cheeks faded away as she met with the hero in reality.
"You were spacing out, I got worried. Is everything okay Byleth?" Erdrick questions, worrying if Byleth was alright.
Byleth chuckles nervously, laughing it off.
"I'm fine! I just got lost into space" Byleth spoke, Erdrick walking beside her.
"Well I'm just glad that you're okay Byleth, shall we walk around?" Erdrick offers.
Byleth nods, "Sure!"
Erdrick took notice of what Byleth had just said, so the two walked around downtown. Side by side, during their walk. Erdrick noticed that Byleth's hand was close to his, he blushed as a bright tint of red forms on his cheeks. His hand almost touching hers, but his right hand stopped it from holding Byleth's hand. His heart was racing, he knew that holding her hand was rushing the whole thing. Erdrick didn't want to rush the relationship that he and Byleth had, he knew it would be too much.
Byleth stopped as she saw a shop, that sells accessories. Like necklaces, brackets, jewelry, earrings and other items. "Hm?" Erdrick says as he saw his best friend looking at the shop, Byleth turns around to face the hero. "Erdrick I'm gonna head inside that shop there, can you come with me? If you don't want to that's okay and we can go somewhere else.." Byleth spoke as she played with her hands.
"Yeah! I'll definitely come with you Byleth! If you see something that catches your eye, let me know. I'll be paying, so you don't have to worry about a thing" Erdrick continues, a soft smile forms on his lips.
Byleth's grins widely as she walks inside happily, Erdrick walking inside the shop as well.
"Hello! Welcome in!" A elderly woman says, her voice was gentle and had a kind tone to it.
"Hello!" Byleth responds back to her as she looks around the place.
"Feel free to look around!" The lady says once more.
Byleth takes a look at the jewelry, seeing how it is shinned in the light and seeing its beautiful colors. She loved how it looked, it was amazing. Byleth saw a bracelet that caught her eye, it had a heart on it and a bow on it as well. She smiled as she held it in her hands, but she still wanted to look around and to see what the place has to offer. Erdrick was also looking around the place, seeing the jewelry.
He looked at the necklaces, seeing how pretty and shiny it looked. Until one particular one caught his eye, it was a necklace that had a heart on it. It was a rose gold color, he smiled as he held it in his hand, seeing how small it was in his palm. It reminded him so much of Byleth, he wanted to give it to her near the end of their date and he knew it would be the perfect chance to give it to her.
He held it in his hands as he tried not to show it to Byleth, the hero walked up to her seeing she had a bracelet in her hands.
"What do you got there Byleth?" The hero questioned, looking at the accessory that Byleth has gotten.
"I found this bracelet and it's really cute!" Byleth explains, putting it on her wrist. "It looks good on you Byleth!" Erdrick compliments her. Byleth smiles, now taking It off of her wrist and holding it in her hand. "Aw thank you Erdrick!" The girl thanked him, "No problem Byleth!" The hero replies back to her.
"But are you ready to go?" Erdrick concludes.
"Yeah! Let's go!" Byleth says.
The two gathered their things as they went up to the counter, Byleth placing her item on the desk.
"Just this?" The lady asked.
"Yeah!" Byleth added.
"Okay that will be $4.99 please!" She continues.
"I'll pay for it Byleth!" Erdrick says.
Byleth smiles once again from what Erdrick said just now, she didn't mind him paying for the accessory she wanted.
"Okay! Then I will wait for you outside Erdrick!" Byleth says, smiling at him again and walking away. Exiting the shop, the lady smiles from the interaction the two just had.
"You like her don't you?" She asked, while paying for the bracelet.
Erdrick's cheeks heated up, a bright tint forming on his cheeks. Chucking softly, "Yeah.. I do.. she's one of my best friends and I plan to tell her how I feel later on tonight" The hero explains.
"That's so sweet, well good luck on telling her of how you feel. I'm sure she will feel the same way!" The woman replies as Erdrick hands her the money.
Erdrick couldn't stop smiling from the thought of Byleth feeling the same way about him, it made his heart flutter and he couldn't help of how he felt about Byleth. He was in love with her, he always loved Byleth.
Suddenly to his realization... who couldn't love a girl like how Byleth was? She was perfect.
Once Erdrick left the shop, getting both of the jewelry. He held Byleth's gift as he was holding the bracelet she wanted, he saw Byleth sitting down on the bench. The hero took out the necklace as he puts it inside of his pocket in his jacket, throwing the small white bag away in the nearby trashcan. But he still kept Byleth's bag in his right hand, "Here's your bracelet!" Erdrick says, handing her the small bag. Byleth grins as she gets up, holding it in her hands and taking the bracelet out of the bag to wear it on her wrist.
"Thanks Erdrick!" Byleth replies, her voice sounded happy and cheerful.
"It's no problem! So where do you want to go next Byleth?" Erdrick questions.
"I don't know" Byleth answers, trying to find something else they could do.
"Well we can continue walking around If you like! And if something catches your eye, let me know!" Erdrick offers.
Byleth nods as she smiles at him. "Sure! That sounds like fun! And as long as I'm with you, everything will be fine!" Byleth says. Erdrick's heart races, his cheeks heating up a little as a small blush forms on his face. A smile forms on his lips, the hero chuckles softly as the two continue to walk around downtown. The calming atmosphere gave the two a sense of ease, the music played around in multiple speakers when they passed by shops and restaurants. Seeing all of the fighters and people from different universes, laughing and having a good time together. Made Erdrick feel happy for some reason..
That he felt that same happiness whenever he was around Byleth.
It made him feel alive, like something was missing for so long.
And Byleth was that piece that was missing from him.
The two were at a small park after walking around for so long, sitting at one of the benches, taking a break from walking around as they watched all of the Pokemon play with each other. Seeing their trainers talking to one another, Byleth giggled from seeing them play around with one another, until she smelled some food from afar. She turned around to see a hot dog stand, Byleth tapped Erdrick's shoulder. "Can we get some hot dogs Erdrick? I'm kinda hungry" Byleth says, Erdrick smiles as he gets up from his spot. "Sure! Do you want anything on it or just plain?" Erdrick asks. "Just plain!" Byleth answers.
Erdrick gives Byleth a thumbs up, knowing her order. "Okay! I'll be back!" Erdrick continues as he heads to the hot dog stand. Byleth saw him standing in the line, it wasn't long but she didn't mind the wait. She continued to look around the park, seeing couples from the smash mansion and a couple from other universes. It made her happy, just seeing them together. She wondered what it would be like if her and Erdrick would be together, not just as friends but as an actual couple.
Her heart fluttered as she sighed softly, lost in thought, Her cheeks are rosy pink, twisting her hair with her finger. Until a certain cry snapped out of her thoughts, it was a Minccino crying. It's trainer Leaf, trying to make it feel better and it was upset because their food was stolen from a Snivy, Byleth's heart broke as she got up from her seat. She looked behind her as she saw Erdrick was the 2nd person in line, almost getting her order. She smiled from the sight of him, then she slapped her cheeks as she snapped out of her daydream.
The girl ran up to the crying mouse Pokemon, she crouching down to its level. Leaf looked at the girl "Hey Byleth" she says in sadness. "Hey leaf, what happened to your Minccino?" She asked. "A Snivy took its food away and I'm trying my best to get it back but it wouldn't let me. Can you try to help me to get my Minccino's food back?" The Pokémon trainer asked. Byleth nodded, she was happy to help her friend and her Pokémon in need.
"Sure! I would be happy to help you Leaf!" Byleth offers. "Thank you so much! You're the best Byleth!" The Pokémon trainer replies back in happiness.
Erdrick was just about done getting his food for him and Byleth, he saw Byleth talking to her friend Leaf. He smiled once he saw his best friend talking to the Pokémon trainer, he walked back to the bench as he settled the hot dogs down next to him. Waiting for Byleth to come back, but he couldn't help to see what Byleth was doing.
Byleth approached the Snivy, holding the Pokémon food in its hand. Crouching down to its level, "Hey, can you bring back Minccino's food please? It's not really nice to take other Pokémon's food away" Byleth says, trying to make the grass Pokémon give its food back to her.
Snivy looked away, not wanting to give it's food back to the girl. Byleth sighed once more, "Hey, It would make you feel any better if I would bring you some Pokemon food! How about it?" Byleth says, trying to see if it would say anything. The Pokemon looked back at the girl as it walked over to the mouse Pokemon, giving back the food. Minccino smiled as it ate it, Leaf smiled as she grabbed a small treat. "Here, give it this!" The Pokemon trainer says, Byleth holds it. Now holding it out to the Snivy, "Here you go! Thank you for giving me a chance to bring back Minccino's food!" Byleth thanked the Snivy.
Snivy ate the Pokemon food off of Byleth's palm, it smiled happily as it ran away to whatever it has gone to now.
Byleth stood up to face the Pokemon trainer, happily holding it's Minccino. "Byleth I could not thank you enough for helping my Minccino out! You're so kind!" Leaf thanked her. Byleth chuckled, she was happy that her friend and her Pokemon were all better and happy again. "Of course! I was happy to help you and your Minccino out!" Byleth replied back to her. Leaf looked behind her, to see that Erdrick was sitting by the bench all by himself.
"So you're out on a date with your boyfriend I see?" Leaf teased, Minccino giggling. Hearing it's trainer make the joke, Byleth blushed. A bright tint of red forms on her cheeks, "What! N-No! You see.. we're friends! There's nothing more to that!" Byleth explained, feeling rather embarrassed and flustered to hear that from the Pokemon trainer. Leaf giggled once more as she started to make her way to leave, "I'm joking! But just to let you know Byleth, friends may be something more. Just to keep an eye out!" Leaf added, "See you later!" The pokemon trainer continued as she walked away happily.
Byleth sighed in embarrassment, she didn't mind the teasing that her friends did. But it was true, she wanted it to be more than friends with Erdrick. She calmed herself down as she paced back to the hero, who was waiting for her. Erdrick saw the girl walking back to him, he smiled as he scooted to the left. To give Byleth a spot to sit, "Hey! Your food is ready Byleth!" The hero says, handing her the hot dog. Byleth smiled back at him, now sitting down next to him. Holding the hot dog in her hands, to her surprise. It was still warm, she unwrapped the metal foil as she held the hot dog in her palm.
She gave it a bite, feeling how warm it was in her mouth. Byleth continued to eat it, Erdrick was also eating his as well. The two happily enjoyed their food, Byleth swallowed her food now getting up and throwing away the foil in the trash can. She walked back to sit down next to the hero, Erdrick handing her a cup of lemonade. Byleth grinned, holding the drink in her hands. "Thanks Erdrick!" Byleth thanked him as she drank the lemonade. "Of course Byleth!" The hero responded back to her, Erdrick smiled back at her as he sipped his drink. Taking a glance at the girl, he saw how beautiful she looked, how he got so easily lost into her eyes. It was breathtaking, she was just so perfect.
Byleth took a look at the hero, she saw that he was looking at her. She didn't mind it at all, she put her cup down. Giggling softly, making Erdrick almost choke on his drink. Byleth got worried, hoping that he was okay. Erdrick coughed a couple of times, Byleth patted his back instantly. "Erdrick! Are you okay? Breathe!" Byleth said in a worried panic, concerned for the hero.
Erdrick coughed one last time as he took a breath, catching his breath. Now getting up to throw his food away and the cup as well, he threw both items away in the trash can. Now walking back to Byleth, taking a seat next to her.
Erdrick looked at Byleth, who had a worried look on her face. "Are you okay Erdrick? I was worried for you there!" Byleth spoke, still worried for him. Erdrick cracked a smile, he was glad that Byleth was looking out for him and that she was concerned if he was okay. "I'm alright, I just choked on my drink. I probably drank too fast" Erdrick explained. Byleth took a sigh of relief, she was relieved that Erdrick was okay. She thought she would lose him there, but she knew that he was okay. "Oh thank goodness! I was worried for you!" Byleth says, she was glad that Erdrick was okay.
"I'm just glad that you're okay Erdrick.." Byleth continues, her voice was soft and sweet. She puts her hand on his. Feeling how soft his hand his, Erdrick looked down to see that Byleth's hand on his. His cheeks heated up, a tint of red forms on his cheeks. His heart racing, his neck sweating. But he couldn't help to crack a smile, he looked into Byleth's eyes as he rubbed his thumb against her palm. "Thank you Byleth for worrying about me, it means a lot to me that you care about me." Erdrick responded back to her, still having the same smile on his face.
Byleth blushed, a bright tint of pink forms on her face. Her heart was beating like drums, like her whole world had just stopped. Like time has frozen, like no one was around and it was just her and Erdrick. It felt like a dream, but Byleth knew that this moment wasn't going to last long.
Byleth looked down to see that Erdrick's hand was still on her's, Erdrick also looked down to see that his hand was on her's. The hero yelped in shock, his cheeks were tinted red, heating up already. Byleth looked away as her cheeks were a bright tint of pink, chuckling nervously. "I-I didn't know that my hand was still on yours Byleth.." Erdrick spoke, scratching the back of his neck with his hand. "Nono Its okay! It's my fault for putting my hand on yours! I just got a bit out of hand.." Byleth responded back to him, glancing at him. Her cheeks were still pink, trying to make the blush going away, her heart still beating a little.
"Are you ready to go?" Erdrick asks, his cheeks were still a bit red but they weren't heating up much anymore.
"Yeah" Byleth replied, now getting up from her spot.
Erdrick gets up as well, the two leaving the park as they start to head back. It was almost 6PM, the sun was halfway set. Byleth saw Erdrick was walking beside her, she was happy that she was spending time with him and she never wanted this day to end. She smiled happily as the two kepted on walking, Erdrick stopped in his tracks. Byleth looked behind him, wondering why he stopped walking.
"Erdrick are you okay?" Byleth questions, now walking up to him.
"Yeah I'm fine, I just gotta use the restroom.." Erdrick says, chuckling nervously.
"Oh! The park! They had restrooms outside!" Byleth adds.
Erdrick smiles, "Sweet! Let's go!" The hero continues.
The two head back to the park once more, feeling the summer air flew by. Erdrick and Byleth finally made their way to the park again, the hero taking the lead by heading to the bathroom. Only realizing about Byleth, Byleth stood outside as Erdrick walked up to her. "I'll be back, I won't take long. But I will be right back okay Byleth?" Erdrick says. Byleth nods, knowing what she just heard. "Okay! Take your time Erdrick!" The girl replies back to him.
Erdrick smiles at the girl, now heading into the men's restroom. Leading the hero out of Byleth's sight, Byleth walks over to the bench that she sat down before. She sat down as she looks around the place, seeing that all of the Pokémon were gone. But a couple of children were playing around, she didn't mind if of course.
Byleth's throat felt rather dry, she sighed as she got up to look for a water fountain. She scanned around the place as she found 2 water fountains, it was right where the bathroom's were. She grinned as made her way to the water fountains, once Byleth got to the water fountain. She pressed the button that shot water out, then she took a sip of the water, it was very fresh and it leaded up to Byleth's expectations. Byleth stopped drinking from the water fountain as she looked over to the restroom, she frowned. "I hope Erdrick comes back soon.." Byleth thought.
Byleth sighed as she started to make her way back, trying to clear her mind and to calm down her worries. Then a man walked out of the bathroom, who saw Byleth. The man had a smug look on his face, He slowly walked up to her and tapped her shoulder, causing Byleth to look behind her. Her eyes widen to see that it wasn't Erdrick who tapped her shoulder, but it was someone else. A random person, who had dark brown hair, green eyes and wore a casual shirt and pants. The man smirked at the girl, "What are you doing all by yourself?" The man asked.
"Just.. waiting for someone, can you leave me alone?" Byleth asked, she didn't liked where this was going. She sat down on the bench, hoping the man would go away anytime soon.
"Why the rush? Someone pretty as you shouldn't be waiting for anyone!" The man continues as he chuckles.
Byleth sighed, she didn't want to be around him. She wanted to be around Erdrick and that's all there is to it, "Can you leave me alone? I'm just waiting for my friend to come back!" Byleth proceeds, getting upset by the man who was talking to her.
Erdrick who was just finishing up drying his hands, heard the conversation. He dashed out of the bathroom and saw what was happening, he cracked his knuckles and gritted his teeth. He exited from the bathroom and began to walk in a fast pace.
"Hey! She said to leave her alone! What part of no don't you get!" Erdrick shouts loudly, causing Byleth to look at the hero. Erdrick walked up to the man, pointing his finger at him. "Leave her alone!" Erdrick argued, the brunette scoffed. "I was trying to talk to her! What are you? Her boyfriend?" The man questioned. "Yes, I am her boyfriend! So, leave my girlfriend alone. If you don't leave her alone in 5 seconds, I will make sure that you stay away from me and my girlfriend! Got it?" Erdrick orders, already pissed off.
"Okay okay! I get it! Jeez!" The man shrieks, then he quickly walks away in fear.
Byleth saw the man ran off, she looked at the hero with a kind smile on her face. Now getting up, "Thank you Erdrick! I was so scared.." Byleth says, her voice breaking a little in fear. Erdrick puts his hand on Byleth's shoulder, smiling softly at her. "Of course! I saw how scared you were and I had to protect you!" Erdrick replies back to her. Byleth twists a strain of hair with her finger, twirling it with her finger. Her cheeks turned pink, a light pink forms on her cheeks. Her heart racing, hearing it beat in her ears. Giggling softly, Erdrick raised an eyebrow in curiosity.
Erdrick wondered why Byleth was blushing so suddenly.
That's when it hit him..
Erdrick blushed, a bright tint of red forms on his cheeks. Turning scarlet, "You.. said that I am your girlfriend when you stood up for me from that guy earlier.." Byleth spoke, breaking the long silence between them. Erdrick heard the voice as he turned around to look at Byleth, to his surprise that she was blushing too. His heart raced by this, the hero chuckled nervously. Scratching the back of his neck with his hand, his cheeks burning red and hands sweaty.
"I just got a bit carried away and I didn't realize I said that.." Erdrick added, his cheeks slightly turning more red than before. Fidgeting with his fingers to distract himself, Byleth let out a small chuckle again. "It's okay Erdrick, sometimes we say on what's on our mind and we have to say it! So.. it's okay!" Byleth stated, her blush fading away from her cheeks.
Erdrick let out a small breath of relief, he was happy that Byleth understood him and didn't freak out by his response. The hero smiled once more, now taking his phone out of his pocket. Checking the time, it was only 6:30. The hero knew that they had to head back soon, but he still wanted to buy more time to confess his feelings to Byleth.
"Say, there's one more place we should go to before we head back home" Erdrick says, Byleth smiles as she walks up to him. With a smile on her face, "Really?" Byleth asks, raising an eyebrow with curiosity. Erdrick nods, "Yeah! It'll be fun!" The hero continues, seeing the bright smile on Byleth's face. "Alright! Let's go!" Byleth continues as she makes a head start, running as she exits the park. Erdrick saw her as he catches up to her as the two leave the park once more.
They walked side by side together, Byleth having the same bright smile on her face as she saw people walking pass by the gift shops and seeing them walk around gave her a sense of ease. Her excitement to go to the beach again, seeing the water crash into the sand and walk around in the sand, feeling the salt air all around her. And to be with the person she loved the most, it was Erdrick.
She wanted to spend time with him at the beach for a while now, ever since he comforted her a week ago. Byleth wanted to be with him and nobody else, to be with her crush and spend time with him. Creating endless memories with him that she will definitely remember for the rest of the day.
They were 2 minutes away from heading to the beach, Erdrick was still walking side by side with Byleth. His heart racing, his cheeks were crimson, his hands sweaty again. He wasn't even there at the beach yet and he couldn't handle his nervousness. He was so nervous about confessing his feelings to Byleth, but he knew that he had to be confident in himself. The hero knew that, he knew that Byleth wouldn't turn him down because he knew that she liked him back.
Byleth smiled once she saw the beach, the sun didn't set yet and the waves of the water were still crashing through the sand. She felt her excitement rush through her veins as she turned around to face the hero, her indigo eyes sparkling like diamonds. A huge smile forms on her face, "Let's go Erdrick!" Byleth calls out, snapping Erdrick out of his thoughts.
The hero smiles softly once he heard the girl's sweet and gentle voice, his heart flutters. The redness from his cheeks fading away as he takes the first step and walks in front of her. "Sure, let's go Byleth!" Erdrick continues softly, watching Byleth walk in the sand, skipping happily.
Byleth heads over to the bench that she saw before, sitting on it as she takes off her sandals. Putting it on the sand as she gets up from her spot, her feet in the sand. Feeling how warm it was on her feet, Erdrick saw of what she did so he decided to do the same. He paced to the bench as he sat down, untying the laces on his sneakers. Taking off his socks and putting it inside the sneakers. Then the hero gets off and makes his way towards Byleth, who was already putting her feet in the water.
Byleth felt the breeze all around her, it felt relaxing and comforting to her. She steps her feet into the water as she takes a couple steps in, it was cold but it wasn't too cold. Erdrick saw her as he rolled up his pants so it wouldn't get wet from the water, he stepped towards the wet sand as he felt the cold water touch his feet. Erdrick stepped back a bit, a smell yelp was heard as his feet was cold from the water.
"Cold isn't it?" Byleth spoked, now turning around to see that Erdrick was a couple feet away from the water.
"Yeah.. it is, I wasn't expecting the water to be this cold!" Erdrick responded back to her, now taking a couple steps back into the water.
Byleth smirked a little as she thought of an idea, she stepped into the ocean a bit more, the water going up her legs. She was wearing shorts so thankfully she didn't wear pants or else it would've been ruined by now, she crouched down a little as she puts her hands in the water. Giggling quitley to herself, she splashes a bit of water on Erdrick, making little drops of water on his clothes.
To his surprise, Erdrick gasped in shock. He turned around to see the success on the girl's face, now laughing. "Got you!" Byleth said, smiling. Now standing up again, Erdrick chuckles "Oh I see what you're trying to do!" The hero replies back as he crouches down as well, water fills up in his palms as he splashes Byleth. A couple of droplets of water were on her clothes.
Byleth gasped as she smirked and did the same, Erdrick chuckled and continued to do the same as well. Byleth stopped as she walked up to him and tapped his shoulder, "Tag your it!" Byleth said playfully as she ran. "Hey! Come back here!" Erdrick yelled as he ran after her, Byleth laughed as she looked behind her that the hero was running after her. There wasn't any people around watching them, so it was just them who was running around the beach at this hour.
Erdrick continued to run as he finally catches up to Byleth, now tapping her shoulder. "Your it!" Erdrick says, smiling. Byleth was panting, out of breath, she looked at the hero. That his forehead was sweating after running so much, but she still wanted to spend time with him before they sat down and talk to one another. "Race you back to the bench!" Byleth calls out, now dashing pass him.
"Last one has to pay up!" Byleth shouts, Erdrick hearing the girl from afar. "Hey! You know I'm already paying for you Byleth!" Erdrick responds back to her as he runs after her, feeling the wind blew across his face. It felt nice and it was good to felt the wind blowing through him, the hero saw that Byleth made to the bench first. He didn't mind about paying, it was his date with Byleth of course and he didn't want her to pay for the whole thing.
Erdrick finally made it to the bench, now panting and breathing in and out. Catching his breath, "I've.. finally made it.." Erdrick says between breaths. Now looking up to see that Byleth was putting her sandals back on, leftover sand was in between her toes. She didn't mind of course and Byleth knew she had to wash her feet before she was going to leave, Erdrick grinned as he sat back down next to her.
"That was.. a lot of fun!" Erdrick spoke, breaking the long silence between them.
Byleth chuckled "It was! I never had this fun in my entire life!" Byleth responded, happiness in her voice.
Erdrick continued to smile as he wiped off the sand off of his feet to put his socks back on, as he did so he heard Byleth spoke. "Erdrick.. I want to thank you for taking me out tonight, it was really kind of you to spend time with me!" Byleth began, smiling at him. Starting off the conversation strong, Erdrick's heart started to beat once he heard Byleth thanking him for taking her out on a date.
Once Erdrick finally put his socks on and his sneakers, he couldn't help to crack a smile. Chucking softly, taking a breath. "It's no problem Byleth! I'm glad that I took you out tonight, I had a lot of fun with you as well!" The hero replied happily, now standing up. Byleth continued to smile as she got up as well, Erdrick faced his best friend. Her eyes shining in the light, the coral color on her lips that stood out to him and her hair blew in the wind.
She was just so beautiful and Erdrick had fallen in love with her.
He couldn't deny that he was in love with Byleth, he knew from the day that he met her, he had fallen in love with her.
"Byleth.. can I tell you something?" Erdrick asked, breaking the long silence between them. He could hear his heart racing rapidly, he was so nervous to confess his feelings to Byleth. His best friend, he practiced his confession so many times and now, it's finally happening.
Byleth nodded, having a smile on her face. Her hands in her pockets of her shorts, "Sure! Go ahead Erdrick! I'm willing to listen of what you're going to say!" The girl responded back to him.
Erdrick nodded, taking a deep breath. He could hear his own deep breath, Byleth heard it as well. She knew that he was serious by what he was going to ask her, so she stay quiet until Erdrick asked her of what was on his mind.
"Byleth.. from the day I have met you, you're the most important person to me in my entire life! Every time I wake up in the morning, I hope I get to see you and you're always there by my side and I can't thank you enough for being in my life." Erdrick started, his heart beating rapidly, he took a small breath, trying to calm himself down.
Byleth noticed this, she had a soft smile on her face. Her heart beating a little, she never knew of how important she was to Erdrick. But it made her feel loved that she was important to him, knowing that she was the first thing that Erdrick would see in his life. Her, it was Byleth and it made her so happy that she was important to him.
"And you are such an amazing person! You are so kind and sweet to others, your smile brings so much happiness and joy to everyone! You are an incredible person and when you fight on the battlefield, it's so cool that you have so much weapons to use while you're on the battlefield and that you are so confident in yourself! Even you don't think you are confident or special enough, I think you are strong and confident! Because I know you can get through anything and you're not alone, because you have your friends and me to be by your side! I hope you know that Byleth" Erdrick continued, feeling confident in himself. He was glad that his confession was going so well.
Byleth gasped quitley, her cheeks were a light shade of pink. Now blushing a little, she knew that she wasn't confident in herself sometimes and she felt like she wasn't good enough. But Erdrick knew of how strong she is, how confident she is and how incredible she is. Byleth felt so confident in herself now, that Erdrick is saying those sweet words to her. Her heart raced a little, she couldn't help to crack a smile.
"And honestly.. I am so glad to have a best friend like you Byleth. You are so amazing and.. your smile makes me blush sometimes, also you make me so happy! You are always there for me when I'm in my worst moments and you always know when I'm upset about something. I appreciate that a whole lot! Really.. and I want to be there for you Byleth. I want to be there in your happiest moments, to comfort you when no one else can. Because you mean the world to me" Erdrick stated, his cheeks were a bright shade of red. Smiling, he could feel his cheeks hurt from smiling but he didn't care.
All that he cared about was confessing his feelings to Byleth, the girl he loved and cared for.
Byleth's heart raced in a more faster pace, her cheeks were a bright tint of pink. She couldn't believe of what she was hearing, that her smile made Erdrick blush. That she made him happy, the thought of his smile when she would enter the room, Byleth couldn't help to just smile about it. But hearing that Erdrick wanted to be there for her in every moment, to be in her happiest moments, to comfort her when she was crying in the hero's arms. She couldn't express of how happy she is right now, but she continued to listen of what the hero has to say next.
But what Erdrick had planned would take Byleth by surprise.
"And.. there's one more thing that I want to say.. but I don't know how to put it into words.." Erdrick says, trying to get the words out of his mouth. He took a long deep breath, his heart racing even faster. He felt like it could burst out in any moment, "You can do it Erdrick.. just say it! Say it that you like her! If you don't, Byleth will never know that you love her!" Erdrick thought, his voice was echoing in his mind.
"B-Byleth I.." Erdrick stuttered, nervously trying to get the words out of his lips.
"I like you, I have a crush on you for the longest time and I realized that I have fallen in love with you!" Erdrick confessed, his cheeks stinging red. His heartbeat was racing through his chest, he was surprised that his hands weren't sweaty nor shaking.
Byleth couldn't believe of what she just heard, her heart was definitely pounding in her chest. Her cheeks were red now from blushing so much, she can't believe that her best friend had a crush on her. That he loved her, that Erdrick loved her. She can't believe it, she was in shock.
"I.. I love you Byleth and I realized that you're the one I want to spend the rest of my life with! The day when you were crying in my arms last week, hopelessly hurt from all of the backlash from social media and when you said you loved being with me. I realized that you were the girl of my dreams! The one I have been looking for and pining for, your the one I love most Byleth!" Erdrick continued, his eyes locked with hers.
Byleth didn't say a word, she was too stunned and shocked. But she just wanted to run to Erdrick and to be in his arms, but she had to wait until his confession was finished. She didn't want to ruin his moment, Byleth would never ruin Erdrick's moment. It would feel wrong to her.
"I.. I hope you feel the same way Byleth" Erdrick continued, looking into Byleth's eyes again.
Then Erdrick took a breath as he walked up to her, hearing the sounds of the waves crashing into the sand from behind and hearing the steps of his sneakers being pressed into the sand. He held out the rose gold heart necklace from his pocket in his jacket and held Byleth's wrist to put it in her hand. "This is for you.. while you were waiting for me outside of the shop, I brought this necklace and it reminded me so much of you! I imagined that you would love it when I give it to you so.. here!" Erdrick explains, his voice soft and sweet.
Byleth smiled as she held the necklace in her hand, her eyes sparkled as she finally spoke.
"Thank you Erdrick! I.. I love it!! It's so beautiful!" Byleth said happily, Erdrick chuckled happily. "Of.. of course Byleth! I knew you would love it! Do you want me to help you to put it on?" Erdrick asked, Byleth nodded. The hero took notice as Byleth handed the necklace over to the hero's hand. Erdrick walked behind Byleth as he puts on the necklace on her, getting it secured in.
Once he put it on, Byleth was happy that she received such a gift from Erdrick. "I love it! It looks so cute on me! Thank you Erdrick!" Byleth continued, her voice in a happy and kind tone. Erdrick couldn't help to smile at her, "It does look cute on you Byleth" The hero replied back to her, now blushing, his voice was sweet and he was happy that Byleth liked the gift he had gotten for her.
The silence flew around them as they stopped talking again, Byleth knew she had to confess now. There was no way backing out of this now.
"Erdrick.. I feel the same way!" Byleth started, feeling confident in herself now.
"I have never been so loved before, I never been comforted by someone like you before and I realized of how beautiful this world is because you're in it! You showed me on how to love myself and to make me feel confident in myself, to open up about myself and experience on what this place has to offer! That I fought on the battlefield, without having the feeling that people would make rude comments about me and having the feeling of the backlash coming back again. I want to thank you for making my life so bright and fulfilling Erdrick!" Byleth continued, her voice was soft but her happiness was heard in her voice.
"I realized that I have fallen in love with you as well, that I liked you more than just a friend and I wanted to be with you! There was moments that I wanted to stay with you just a bit longer and to spend time with you. And your presence makes me so happy and you being by my side, gives me hope and confidence! You mean the world to me as well Erdrick, when I was crying in your arms last week. Not knowing who to go when I was so upset about the backlash that I was receiving from social media and in person, the person I wanted to go to was you!" The girl continued, now being serious about of what she was saying.
Erdrick also couldn't believe of what he was hearing, that Byleth liked him back. That she loved him and she had a crush on him, his heart was racing and his heart was pounding in his chest. The hero was token back but, he was so happy that Byleth liked him back. He couldn't help to break into a smile, the redness from his cheeks were now visible again.
The hero wanted to hug Byleth and never let her go, but he knew that he had to wait until Byleth was done with her confession to him.
"You are my home Erdrick, when you were comforting me here.. at the beach, when no one else could do the same thing as you did. It meant so much to me that you comforted me, telling me that everything is going to be okay and saying that I'm a good fighter and I deserve to be here! And I remember you saying that you loved being with me, I.." Byleth says, taking a pause.
She had a lump in her throat, tears were forming in her eyes as tears were falling across her cheeks. Erdrick saw this and he worried that he made Byleth cry, he didn't want to make her cry but it was happy tears that he saw. He sighed in relief, knowing that she was okay.
Byleth sobbed happily as she smiled at him, she couldn't hold her tears, of how happy she was. That the hero she loved, liked her back and was there for her when no one else was.
"I.. I love you Erdrick! You're my home and you're my hero! You're the one I love and wanted to be with!" Byleth spoke, her voice breaking but it wasn't the usual upsetting way her voice sounded when she sobbed. Rather in a more happier and emotional tone than it was before.
Then she took a couple of steps forward towards him to hug Erdrick, wrapping her arms around him. Her arms around his waist as she cried happily, she was so happy that Erdrick felt the same way that she did. Erdrick hugged her back in return, pulling her close to him so her head could rest on his chest. Hugging the girl tightly, but not too much that he would accidentally squeeze her.
The two shared a long but beautiful hug, that definitely lasted long than it should've have. Erdrick continued to hold Byleth close to him while she was still in his arms and stroking her back with his hand in circles. His heart beating in a normal pace, as he let Byleth continue to cry in his arms but.. happily.
After a couple minutes of soft sobs, Byleth pulled away from Erdrick. Sniffing as she wiped her tears from her eyes, her eyes not puffy and red anymore but she could still see Erdrick's face and how happy he looked.
"I.. I'm sorry for crying.. I don't know what came over me! I guess I got a bit emotional haha!" Byleth explained, chuckling.
"It's okay Byleth, it's okay to cry! It's good for your health" Erdrick replied back to her, seeing that she was still in a good mood.
The two were close, inches away from their noses touching each other. The two broke the silence as they started laughing, Erdrick was still blushing but he didn't mind because Byleth was also blushing too.
"So.. Byleth?" Erdrick says, causing Byleth to look up at him.
"Yes Erdrick?" Byleth replied back to him, raising an eyebrow a bit in curiosity.
Erdrick felt his heart racing again, his hands sweaty a little. His cheeks were red as he was blushing once more, he thought of asking Byleth to be his girlfriend made him nervous. But he knew that she would say yes, the hero knew that he can't mess this up.
"I have thought of this.. for a long time now and I thought it would be the best if I can tell you now.." Erdrick starts, looking into Byleth's eyes again.
Byleth didn't say anything but she listened to of what the hero had to say to her.
"Will you be my girlfriend?" Erdrick confesses, an even more bright tint of red forms on his cheeks. His heart pounding rapidly, hoping that she would say yes.
Byleth had a huge smile on her face, her eyes sparkling like stars once she heard the hero asking if he could be his girlfriend.
She felt so happy, Byleth felt complete and so so in love with Erdrick.
"YES!! A thousand times yes!! I would love to be your girlfriend Erdrick!" Byleth replied happily, now wrapping her arms around him, her arms around the hero's neck as she looked into his brown eyes.
Erdrick leant forward, his forehead pressing onto Byleth's, smiling at her softly. Erdrick continued to look into her indigo eyes, that was shimmering in the light. He couldn't wait any longer, he leaned in and kissed her. His lips landing on her's, Byleth's eyes widen in surprise. Her cheeks were a bright shade of red, taken by surprise that Erdrick kissed her.
Her lips were rather soft and Erdrick could taste the Vanilla scent that Byleth had put on her lips, the hero stopped for a moment to lean back. Seeing the flushed look on Byleth's face, surprised and honestly shocked but, she was happy that Erdrick kissed her.
"I-I'm sorry Byleth! I have gotten a bit carried awa-" Erdrick stuttered before being cut off by Byleth's hand on his cheek, the girl leaned in and kissed him as well, her lips landing on his, closing the gap between them. Erdrick's eyes widen as his cheeks were crimson red, then he closed his eyes. Letting him to have this moment with her.
Byleth didn't knew of how soft Erdrick's lips were which took her by surprise but she just focused on enjoying this moment with her lover.
Erdrick held Byleth close to him, his hands on her waist as he pulled her close towards him. Slowly but surely, the hero kissed her back in return, which Byleth was taken aback but she ran her fingers through the hero's hair. Feeling how smooth it was through his fingers.
The pair stopped kissing for a moment, Byleth leaning back as she took a couple of breaths. The two were out of breath from the long kiss, Erdrick softly chuckled as he continued to look at Byleth. He was happy that she was happy and that's all that mattered to him in this moment.
"Looks like we have gotten a bit carried away.." Byleth spoke, giggling from the comment she just made.
Erdrick giggled as well, "Yeah.." he replied.
"I have been wanting to do that since forever!" Erdrick admitted, breaking the small silence between them as light tint of red forms on his face, his voice was soft and low but rather sweet.
Byleth gasped in surprise, "Erdrick wanted to kiss me? Since.. forever!" Byleth thought.
Byleth couldn't help to break into a smile, her cheeks were still pink after blushing so much.
"I also wanted to kiss you as well Erdrick.. but I was too scared to because I thought it would ruin our friendship" Byleth asks, now feeling a bit sad, her voice in a different tone and a bit sad.
Erdrick frowns a little, he saw the sad look on Byleth's face. Of course there was things that had to be limited, wanting to kiss Byleth while they were friends would ruin the friendship but the hero knew that Byleth liked him more than just a friend. But he understood why Byleth wouldn't ruin the friendship with him and he knew how much it meant to her.
Erdrick smiled softly as he puts his hand on Byleth's cheek, creasing it softly. Causing Byleth to look up at him, smiling a bit. "Hey.. it's okay! I was too scared to say anything romantic because I thought it would ruin our friendship too. But I kept it to myself until the time was right to say something like that, so it's okay Byleth!" Erdrick explains, now seeing a full smile on the girl's face.
"Thank you Erdrick, that made me feel a lot better! It means a lot to me that you care!" Byleth added, seeing the smile on the hero's face.
"Of course Byleth! There's no need to thank me!" Erdrick concluded with a small chuckle.
Byleth gasped quietly as she forgot to tell the hero something, "Erdrick? Can I ask you something? " Byleth asked.
"Yes By! What is it?" Erdrick says, now curious of what Byleth wanted to say.
Byleth took a deep breath, her heart beating in her chest, she was still nervous of asking Erdrick to be her boyfriend.
"Will you be my boyfriend Erdrick..?" Byleth asked, shyness was clear in her voice.
"Of course I will Byleth! I thought you would never ask!" Erdrick replied happily, he picked her up by the waist as he spun Byleth around, which caused Byleth to laugh.
"Erdrick! Put me down! Haha!" Byleth giggled, she was so happy that she was finally together with the one she loved. At last.
Erdrick puts Byleth down back down into the ground, Byleth smiled as she walked over to the bench and sat back down. Looking at the beach, the water crashing into the sand and the seagulls flying across the sky.
Erdrick walked right towards the bench as he sat down right next to her, seeing how beautiful she looked. Byleth turned around to see the hero, she smiled at him as she put her hand onto his, feeling how soft it was. Which made Erdrick blush a little.
"Thank you.. for everything Erdrick, for the date today.. I cannot express how happy I am to have someone like you in my life!" Byleth says, angelically and sweet.
Erdrick's cheeks were rosy red as he looked down to see that Byleth's hand was on top of his, he held her hand in return. Interlocking his fingers with hers, "Of course Byleth, I'm very happy that I have someone like you in my life too! It means a lot to me that you're here now!" Erdrick responded, smiling still, looking at her.
Byleth then rubs her thumb against the hero's palm softly, which gave Erdrick a sense of ease. Erdrick gazes into Byleth's eyes as he admired her beauty, "You have pretty eyes Byleth.." Erdrick compliments her, causing the girl to blush. "Aw! Thanks Erdrick! That's really sweet of you!" Byleth responds back to him, smiling softly at her.
Erdrick gazes at Byleth, seeing her signature smile that was given to him. It always made him head over heels for her, that made him blush every single time.
Byleth then looks out to the beach again, seeing the sun had already set, seeing the dark blue and purple sky. And the white stars that were twinkling in the night sky, Erdrick looked at the sky as well. Feeling a cold breeze surrounding them, causing Byleth to shiver. The hero noticed this, he didn't want Byleth to be cold and catch a cold and get sick. "Are you okay Byleth? Your shivering!" Erdrick asked, concerned.
Byleth looked at him, chuckling nervously. The jacket she was wearing wasn't warm enough and she didn't want to wear a huge jacket today because she knew that she had a date with Erdrick. The girl shakes her head, "I-I'm fine! I wasn't expecting that it would be cold out here! But I will be okay!" Byleth says, rubbing her arms with her hands, trying to get some warmth in her body.
"Here, take my hoodie. You can wrap your jacket around your waist but you will be warm enough if you wear my hoodie. I don't want you to get cold!" Erdrick says, taking off his hoodie to give it to Byleth.
"Nono it's okay Erdrick! I will be fine I promise!" Byleth replies, not wanting Erdrick to be cold as well. Erdrick handed his hoodie to the girl, which she had a surprise look on her face. "It's okay, really! I don't want you to get cold Byleth!" Erdrick insists, Byleth smiles as she takes off her jacket and wrap it around her waist. Then she puts on the hero's hoodie, feeling how warm it was and his scent was there. Which gave Byleth a sense of comfort.
Byleth popped her head through the hoodie, feeling how warm it is as she hugged herself. The girl sequels in happiness, "It's so soft and warm! Thank you Erdrick!" Byleth spoke in happiness and glee. Now hugging the hero, Erdrick smiles a small tint of red forms on his cheeks as he hugged her back in return. "It's no problem Byleth! And see I told you!" The hero added.
Byleth leans back as she lets go from the hug, smiling softly at him. Erdrick takes a glance at Byleth, his heart skipping a beat. He wouldn't imagine that Byleth would wear his hoodies, but she looked so adorable in it. The way she looked so cuddly and relaxed in it, made the hero blush and flustered seeing now, his girlfriend, in one of his hoodies.
"You look.. really adorable in my hoodie Byleth.." Erdrick spoke softly, his heart beating in his chest as the redness crept up on his cheeks.
A bright tint of pink forms on Byleth's cheeks, her heart beating from what Erdrick had just said to her. But she couldn't help to smile at Erdrick's sweet words, "You.. really think so?" Byleth asked, tilting her head. Erdrick nodded as he beamed, "Yeah! You really do look adorable in it Byleth! In matter fact.. you look beautiful in it" Erdrick continued, pulling down the hoodie to reveal her face and seeing her teal hair. As he continued to look into her eyes.
"Aw thank you Erdrick! You're too kind!" Byleth added happily, Erdrick took out his phone from his pocket. Seeing that it was now 8:45, it shocked the hero that they were out for 5 hours. Byleth saw the shocked look on Erdrick's face, which concerned her a little. "Erdrick? Is everything okay?" Byleth questions, Erdrick looked back at her. "I'm fine! I just realized that it's 8:45 and it's about to be 9 o clock soon." Erdrick explains.
Erdrick didn't want to make Byleth leave so soon, he never wanted to leave the date that he had been waiting days for. So he decided that it would be the best to stay for a bit longer, "But if you want we can stay here a bit longer, if you want to that is Byleth!" Erdrick continues, sounding hopeful and optimistic. Byleth nodded, feeling happy about the suggestion that Erdrick said.
"Yeah! I actually wanted to stay here for a couple of minutes, because.. I want to spend time with you!" Byleth says angelically and with kindness in her voice. Erdrick nodded, feeling happy that Byleth wanted to spend time with him. Byleth scooted next to him, looking at the night sky. Silence filled between the two, not so sure on what to say next.
Byleth's mind wandered off to on what would happen now that Erdrick and her are a couple, an official one. She wondered on what would her friends would think, sure they would support her until the very end. But it was a shame that her parents aren't alive and not here anymore to see that she had grown up in such a good place and that she met the love of her life. But she knew that her parents were up in heaven, watching her from above which made Byleth feel happy and proud of herself that she made it this far in life.
Byleth took a breath as she continued to look out to the sea, seeing that a bunch of people left the beach but most of them were sitting on blankets and making fires to keep themselves warm in the cold weather.
"So.. what now?" Byleth says, breaking the silence between them.
Erdrick was confused by this, he raised an eyebrow in curiosity. "What do you mean?" The hero asked.
"Well.. that we are together now, it's a funny feeling that we both had feelings for each other and it's such a new feeling that we are together now! Like as an actual couple" Byleth explained, hoping that Erdrick would get the message. "Oh! Yeah! It is a funny feeling and I can't believe that we are together now! But it makes me happy that you are my girlfriend now Byleth!" The hero replies back to her as he holds her hand, feeling the warmth on his palm.
Byleth smiles at him, "Me too! I'm really happy that we are together now too! And I'm glad that you are my boyfriend too Erdrick! I hope that we will have an amazing life together and whatever happens, I will be there for you no matter what and I hope I will be helpful in any way I can!" The girl continues, seeing the bright smile on the hero's face.
Erdrick was so lucky to have a girl like Byleth, he couldn't believe that the girl of his dreams that he wanted to be with. Is here, that he is together with her now. He couldn't be anymore happier to be with her.
Byleth smiled softly as scoots over to him, she puts her hand on the hero's cheek, creasing it softly causing the hero to blush suddenly. "Byleth?" Erdrick asked, confused. His heart beating a little, Byleth looked into the hero's eyes as she saw the flustered look on Erdrick's face. The girl giggled quitley, rubbing her thumb against the hero's cheek.
A light tint forms on the girl's cheeks, her heart beating in her chest. "I love you Erdrick, thank you for everything you've done for me and thank you for being my hero!" Byleth spoke softly and in a kind voice, Erdrick had butterflies in his stomach once he heard her sweet voice. Byleth then leans in and kisses him on the cheek, her lips pressing on his cheek softly.
It almost felt like that Erdrick's whole world just stopped once Byleth kissed him.
So suddenly it stopped..
His whole world.
Like time has frozen in time.
He was so starstruck.
And it was Byleth that he was starstruck for.
Byleth leaned back as she saw the hero's face all red, blushing so suddenly. Erdrick came back into reality as he cracked a smile, the blush visible on his face. "I love you too Byleth!" Erdrick added, softly and a gentle tone to his voice. Now leaning in and kissing her on the cheek, his lips landing on her smooth cheeks, causing Byleth to blush and chuckle.
Erdrick leaned back as he saw the sweet look on Byleth's face, he had never seen her so happy before. It made him happy that she was happy too, Byleth grinned back at him as she looked out to the sea, Erdrick did the same. Byleth layed her head down on Erdrick's shoulder, which made Erdrick look down on her. Seeing that she's resting on his shoulder, Erdrick beamed as he wrapped his arm around Byleth, pulling her close to him slowly.
"Do you want to stay out here for a while? If you want to that is Byleth!" Erdrick asked, looking down at her.
Byleth nods "Yeah! I want to stay out here for a while.. as long as I'm with you. We'll be okay" Byleth says, her voice soft and low. Closing her eyes as she listened to the water crash into the wet sand and the fire crackling from afar.
"Alright! If anything happens I will be there for you no matter what. Don't forget that, okay Byleth?" Erdrick reassured her, Byleth nodded once more.
"Okay love.. I won't forget that!" Byleth says quietly but in a soft tone to her voice.
Erdrick then kisses the top of Byleth's head, smiling softly at her as he looks out into the night sky. Enjoying his time with his lover, the cold breeze flew between them but Erdrick didn't mind because he had Byleth with him and that's what mattered to him.
As the two looked out to the night sky, spending the rest of the evening together. Erdrick had finally realized something, that he had not only fallen in love with his best friend Byleth. But, he had found the one he had been hoping to be with. Pinning, yearing, wishing to be with her. His wish came true.
To be with Byleth.
The new girl that arrived in the smash mansion 6 months ago, hoping to have a good experience in this new world she just got into. And Erdrick loved her for the way she is, for being herself. Erdrick loved her for being herself, her happy kind self. That's what he loved Byleth for.
And Erdrick made Byleth's world a lot more brighter and more beautiful than it was before.
And that makes her glad.
Byleth was also really happy that she was with the hero she loved, she thought that Erdrick wouldn't like her back and reject her. But she was wrong, Erdrick loved her. Just the way she is, for being herself, her bright smile that she would always enter the room and the way her eyes would lit up when something exciting was happening. Byleth was so happy to be with the one she loved and that was Erdrick that she loved.
Byleth loved Erdrick ever since she met him when she arrived at the smash mansion, she loved that he would always be there for her no matter what, comforting her in her darkest times as Erdrick held her close while she was sobbing in his arms and all of the memories she had created with him.
It was endlessly beautiful for her, that she made so many memories with Erdrick.
And Erdrick felt the same way that Byleth did.
That the two fallen in love with each other, while still being best friends, they couldn't help to fall in love with each other during the process. Erdrick was so happy that he was dating Byleth now and Byleth was also happy that she was dating the hero of her dreams. It made both of them happy that they are finally together now, at last.
Erdrick will continue to stay by Byleth's side until the very end, comforting her in any way possible and protecting her whenever there is trouble. As for Byleth, she will stay by the hero's side as well. Supporting him in any way and she will always be there for him no matter what.
Because they will always love each other and always will be there for one another, side by side, hand in hand. Love is all that matters to them, starting on a new journey together as they grow stronger and stronger each day. Erdrick will always be Byleth's hero and Byleth will always be Erdrick's girl, no matter what happens they will stay together forever and always.
