"You couldn't become any worse, could you, Areon?" Leon's voice lost all the weight it had in it. His head was spinning and his body screamed at him to do something to get it out of it's aching misery.
As much as a powerful demon as he was, he had his limits. His body healed his injuries, the bruises faded themselves and his scarred skin stitched itself back only to be met with the same torture again.
Demons, no matter what type, are capable of fully healing themselves unless the damage is within controllable boundaries because healing up severe wounds would consume more of their energy, something which was rapidly depleting in Leon.
Which is precisely why Areon would wait for his body to completely patch itself up before marring it again. He's waiting for it to become so weak that it won't be able to heal any of his injuries later on.
And communicating with (Y/N) through the connection ate up his lowering energy too, further lessening it.
'Atleast now she'll be fine.' He thought to himself. Talking to her also helped in soothing his own heart, making him forget about the crappy situation he was in even though only for a short while.
A sickening crack resonated off of the cave walls as Areon tore of the arm of the body he was currently feasting on. The scent of fresh blood and meat tingled his senses, driving his urge to gobble down the entire dead meat to go spiralling out of control.
"He was sneaking in food and water to you." Areon's teeth sunk into the flesh, drawing out more blood from the pierced veins as he greedily drank it all before tearing out a piece of flesh to bite down on it, chewing it.
"Two times!" Leon fell into a coughing fit, regretting screaming using his dry throat. "You cau-ght him the second time.." His voice came out scratchy.
Areon ignored his brother's words as he continued eating up the remains of Vin's body. "I'm still better than you." He commented. "Atleast I kill my prey before eating it."
Leon gritted his teeth, now feeling ashamed when Areon phrased it out to him. The Beast had been ruthless to numerous demons and humans in the past, his own build of resentment towards himself directed it's flow to those weaker and helpless in front of him.
But he has improved from that deranged, merciless old Leon he used to be when (Y/N) and Reece entered his life. The two of them finally gave him a purpose to live and thrive for.

"Can Areon just kill him already?! I'll do it myself if he waits to play around any longer!" The manipulator huffed, crossing her arms in front of her chest as she glared at nobody in particular.
"You know what fate would await you before you even have a chance to try." Sylvia tauntingly said, admiring the galaxy coloured hair the demon in front of her was blessed with.
"But what the hell is he waiting for?! To capture that human girl? Well, let's go and do it then!"
Sylvia's carefree eyes darkened in an instant at the mention of her former friend. Resentment and fury bubbled up inside her.
"You and I are so different, Myra." Sylvia said, "You loved your sister so much that you're willing to do anything to avenge her death." She scoffed.
"While I killed my own sister."
Myra stilled. She was well aware of the twisted mind Sylvia had but she didn't expect her to be this big of a maniac. Areon wants to kill his brother while Sylvia already gave that fate to her sister. The manipulator could easily understand how the two of them became such great acquintances in the short span of time they did.
"Speaking of capturing (Y/N)-" Sylvia spat out the name of the human with such venom that even Myra felt disturbed. "It's going to happen soon."
"Very soon."

"It should have been obvious." The Charmer stated in a frustrated manner. "It couldn't have been anyone else."
I told the three of them about Leon's condition and whereabouts and the fact that we talked through our connection. Even after not finding any trace of him after three relentless days of searching, both Kian and Cassius had already doubted that someone had taken away Leon.
And it was clear to all of us that it couldn't have been anyone other than Areon and Sylvia.
"We need to get him back fast." Kian rubbed his temples, "If Areon killed Leon (Y/N) would-"
"Kian." I interrupted him before he could complete that sentence in front of Reece. The hunal was already on the brink of tears as it is. Giving him that piece of information would only trouble his fragile mind even more.
"Miss (Y/N) what?" But Reece didn't want to listen anything that involved me incomplete. Especially if it linked with Leon.
"Nothing, Reece." I shook my head at him. Those ocean blue eyes screamed that he didn't believe me. He was intelligent enough to put the pieces together and he pieced them together perfectly correct.
"If they killed Leon, miss (Y/N) would die too, right?"
Nobody said anything. Nobody could.
The tension in the silence was broken by the sound of a cry breaking out of Reece. He got up from the couch and ran away from there to my room before I could act fast and grab him.
Moisture covered my eyes as I stared after him, watching after his crying and trembling form.
His cries echoed throughout the house, each sound of this sadness that burst out of him wrenched my heart. My lips trembled as I bit down on my tongue to supress my own cries. To supress the dam of sobs and tears that dangerously threatened to wreck out of me.
One thing.
It was just one thing he ever wished for to me and Leon.
To just always be there with him.
That's it. Just this one thing.
And it would absolutely destroy me if we fail to fulfill this one wish of his.
"Darling..." I felt Kian move up from his place on the other couch to come and sit beside me. He put his hand on my head, gently bringing it to rest on his chest as his other hand went to wrap around my shoulders, encasing me in his arms.
I didn't look up to confirm it but I felt Cassius' eyes on me. Despite of my disliking towards Kian, I couldn't deny myself out of his comforting. I clutched his shirt in my hands, feeling completely lost about what to do.
The Charmer softly weaved his fingers through my hair, the action only reminding me about how Leon would always put the fallen stray strands of my hair behind my ear. He really loves doing that.
"Your hair fallen on your face just irritate me."
"Because they cover the view of my irresistibly beautiful face?"
"Yes-huh?! No!" He scoffed, looking away. "It just makes you look more hideous."
"Just accept that you love touching my hair. I won't judge you, Beasty." I smirked as I nudged him.
"Shut up! Where did you even get that idea from?!" He pushed me a little too hard, making me lose my balance and trip to the floor.
I burst out laughing at his flustered features, pointing at his reddening cheeks as I clutched my stomach from laughing to hard, still sprawled on the floor.
The memory from a week ago only hurt me more as I thought about it. The little bickers we had every now and then, the small unserious fights and jabs that we threw at each other and the harmless insults, it all made me miss him more than I already was.
I got a control over myself, pulling out of Kian's embrace as I wiped away my tears. Leon told me to not cry. He told me that I had nothing to worry about.
He said that he'll take care of things and make everything alright. I said I trust him.
I mean it.
"I should check up on Reece. Please be careful around him. He doesn't need to hear things he should not." I said without looking into their eyes, getting up to go after Reece.
"(Y/N)." Kian held my wrist before I could leave. I stopped but didn't turn around to face him.
"Just remember that you have us. Cassius and I are here for you both." Involuntarily my eyes snapped up to meet the Shadow's brown ones. He looked away from me in regret, not being able to look me in the eyes.
I nodded and freed my hand out of his grip.
***
"Alright, what did you do?" Immediately as the human left, Kian directed the question at his best friend.
"I saw the look she gave to you. And the way you looked away. Something happened while Reece and I were gone, didn't it?"
"It wasn't me. I didn't do it." Cassius mumbled to himself. "I didn't mean to make her cry. It wasn't me who did that." He was talking to himself, shaking his head again and again. "I didn't want to make her mad at me."
"What are you talking about? What's wrong with you, Cassy?"
"I don't know!" Cassius yelled, shutting up right after. "I don't know what's happening to me." He said in a much lower tone.
"I've noticed your strange change in behaviour. What is bothering you, Cassy?" Kian furrowed his eyebrows. Cassius has been acting really out of character these past few days and it is concerning him. He can't understand what was troubling his best friend and his inability to help is frustrating him.
Cassius clutched at his hair, drowning in vexation. Little tremours were starting to make appearence, further growing Kian's agitation. "It-it started after I met her... She- she had weird, colourful hair and-and brightly glowing grey eyes.."
"Colourful hair and glowing grey eyes?" Kian searched through his mind for someone who would fit that discription but couldn't picture anyone with those features.
"I-I hear that voice in my mind. It-it.. It wants me to.. Wants me to consummate with (Y/N).." Kian's eyes widened. Out of every theory that he had been mugging up in his mind, it wasn't this.
Cassius has been manipulated by a manipulator type of demon.
Those demons do exactly what their name suggests. They implant their manipulation into the target's mind, a voice which slowly takes over their thoughts until it is completely in control.
Kian's head snapped up to look in Cassius' direction. He had stopped clutching at his head and was now sitting up straight, his snowy hair curtaining his eyes to hide their lost look.
Then slowly, tauntingly a low, manic laughter erupted out of him, resonating around the room in waves as it gradually increased in volume.
Tears were slipping down his cheeks but the twisted laughter did not stop. It was so hollow, so empty, entirely dark and absolutely void of any joy or meaning. A pyschotic vibe that was enwrapping over him reached to such a brink that now it finally overflowed out of him.
Quickly, like a switch his head turned to look at Kian. The latter was taken aback by the insanity in those brown eyes which were now completely black, not a trace of brown left in them.
The laughter died down, replaced by suffocating silence. The Shadow's lips curled up to form a grin Cassius never can. A haunting expression befalling over his innocent features.
Kian froze as he looked at the demon in front of him.
It wasn't Cassius anymore.
