Feathering her fingers through her dainty mangalsutra, Nitya glanced at herself. Dressed like a newly wed, she looked graceful in minimum yet holding upto her rank.
A navy blue saree draped meticulously around her figure, bordered with sleek golden motifs and a matching sleeveless blouse added up to her vivacious beauty.
She completed her look with a diamond jewellery set, simple yet beautiful, her sleek mangalsutra with an Infinity sign on it, indicating their never ceasing love and togetherness, and a pair of silver anklets.
She smiled looking at her reflection in the mirror. This was the first time, she was not afraid of visiting the Mansion. Yes, mansion ; because it was not home, certainly not for her. For her it was just a building that only has a dreadful past connected which continues to linger around her.
Vardhaan comes out of the closet, dressed handsomely in a brown two piece suit which enhanced his muscles perfectly. With a white shirt underneath.
His eyes stuck at his wife, as she stood in front of the mirror admiring her mangalsutra. This scene made his heart swell with love. He stood there for a few moments ogling at her.
Clearing his throat, he brought her back from her reverie.
"Arre, Yuv..aap, aap taiyyar ho gaye?", she stammered with heated cheeks as there stood her husband, whom she found to be the answer for all her miseries and hardships.
He slightly smirked at her nervousness, "Ji Yuvrani sa, ho gaye taiyyar". He slowly moves behind her, "Bohot khoobsurat lag rhi hain aap", saying this he took a pinch of vermillion and filled the partition of her hair, kissing her forehead.
She closed her eyes and smiled in contentment, clutching his wrists. No matter how tensed or worried she was, at any given moment, a forehead kiss from him worked magic. It was as if all her worries washed away and her soul was filled up with confidence, love and courage.
"Chale Yuvrani sa?", he asked smiling adoringly at her.
"Haan chaliye", Nitya smiled back.
He held her hand, ready to leave the room but she stepped back.
"I forgot something", she smiled sheepishly.
Vardhaan raised an eyebrow confused.
She moved forward and stood on her tiptoes, placing a soft kiss on his cheek. While Nitya looked down with heated cheeks and hastily walked downstairs, Vardhaan stood there processing what happened.
He placed a hand on his cheek, still surprised. Smiling slightly he turned to the mirror and chuckled, the smile not ready to leave his face.
As his mind replayed the moments, heat crept his neck and ears. He stood there for some time eyeing the mirror, pacing around grinning and chuckling like a school boy.
Nitya ran down the stairs with crimson cheeks. She didn't know how she gained the courage to do this but did she regret? No. She felt nice, it felt good showering affection upon her husband.
Taking a deep breath, she composed herself though her face told a different story, and entered the kitchen.
"Maa sa, kya banaa rahi hain?", she leaned on the counter, turning her face to Ragini.
"Poha aur Alu poori", she smiled at her daughter.
"Main help karu?", Nitya asked with excited eyes and ofcourse Ragini couldn't deny her.
"Arree Vardhaan aaj jaldi taiyyar ho gaya lagta hain ", Ragini said rolling the puris as she heard the familiar footsteps of her son descending the stairs.
Sensing each click of his shoes getting closer to her ears, the crimson shade on Nitya's cheeks was back as she remembered the cheeky stunt she pulled just a while ago.
Noticing her changed demeanor, Ragini understood it was something to do with her eldest son and thus decided to tease her.
"Niti, Bachha tu theek hain? Tere gaal aise laal kyu ho rahe hain?", Ragini asked putting a hand on her shoulder.
"K..kaha? Kaha Maa sa? Yeh toh garmi ki wajah se shaayad", Nitya said rubbing her cheeks to get rid of the heat.
"Maa sa, aap yaha hain?", Vardhaan asked peeking into the kitchen.
"Haan Ladesar, hum subah yahi hote hain. Woh aap usually iss waqt gym mein hote hain na", she teased her son watching him get every bit restless.
Vardhaan let out a nervous chuckle.
"Haan haan, Yuvraj aapki Yuvrani bhi yahi pe hain", she let out a laugh, well aware of his presence so early in the morning.
Nitya's cheeks turned a darker shade of red if there could be any. As Vardhaan entered the kitchen, she kept her gaze on the stove where the curry was simmering, occasionally stirring it with the spatula.
"Do whatever you want, just take care that none of you gets burnt in the kitchen or gets a cut, okay", Ragini instructed before leaving the kitchen to which both of them nodded obediently like kids.
Nitya turned off the knob of the stove as soon as the curry was cooked. Vardhaan slightly pulled her away from the kitchen platform gently so that she doesn't flinch by his sudden touch, leading to a mishap in kitchen.
He smirked seeing how even his smallest touch made her blush. Sliding one hand on her waist he leaned and whispered in her ears, "Jaana, aap aise humaari aahat se bhi sharmaayengi toh tab kya hoga jab hum dono ek dusre ke, ek dusre ki rooh ke sabse zyaada qareeb honge?"
Hearing his words, she felt her knees weaken. His voice, his words reflected the passion with which he loved her. His inner desires laced out in his tone, attempting to tease her. But instead of any initial fear, it was more of an anticipated future for her.
He was her sense of comfort and she knew he would never even unknowingly do anything that hinders it. His every word, every action assured her being his topmost priority which would never be compromised at any given cost or situation.
Thus, even when it came to intimacy, emotional or physical, she knew Vardhaan was the only one she could completely rely on, without second thought. As much as she knew her man, one thing she was sure of that, with him everything would be beautiful and worth it, everything destined, and everything meant to be. Only him.
..................................................................................
"Jaana, chale?", he asked as they were done with breakfast.
Nitya stood up with a nod only to be surrounded by the family as they moved to the living room.
"Beta, are you sure you want to go? If you want hum abb bhi cancel Kar sakte hain", Ragini uttered in a concerned voice, cupping her face.
"Maa sa, I'll be fine. Aap bilkul chinta mat kijiye", she smiled assuringly.
"Beta kuchh bhi ajeeb lage ya achha na waapas aa jaana", Aditi said kissing her forehead.
"Kaki Maa, itni tension mat lijiye main dhyaan rakhungi", Nitya smiled.
Abhay took her into a fatherly embrace and Anuj patted her head affectionately asking her to take care of herself.
"Bhai sa", Nitya hugged Raghav as soon as he came into sight.
"Nitu, Bachha dhyaan rakhna apna. Koii kuchh bole toh let them know who you are. Baaki hum sambhaal lenge. Aur Bhai sa ke pohochne se pehle kuchh bhi aisa waisa lage toh leave any text to me. Hum samajh jaayenge hmm?", Raghav explained her everything and kissed her forehead as she nodded like a kid.
Vigyaan walked into the room while coordinating with the security chief on bluetooth.
"Bhabhi sa, humne guard squad arrange karwa di hain. Do guards aapke saath mansion mein honge aur baaki mansion ke aaspaas".
She frowned at the idea, "Vig, mansion ke andar guards nhi chahiye...aaspaas theek hain, but not inside".
"Dadabhai", he looked at Vardhaan for confirmation.
Vardhaan gave a nod making Nitya let out a relaxed breath. Even though her safety was crucial, her comfort was his topmost priority.
He was well aware of the fact that Nitya was still not used to being with guard squads all around. It would take some time for her to grow comfortable with all this sudden attention and he wanted her to come to terms with all of this gradually.
Vigyaan instantly contacted the security team and conveyed the instructions.
"Theek hain bhabhi sa, mansion ke andar aapke saath guards nhi honge. But please take care", he mumbled side hugging her.
"Mhm, I will", she smiled at him.
"Bhabhi sa, this is not fair. Mujhe bhi le chalti aap saath", the ever so dramatic Vivaan Singh Suryavanshi descended the stairs, whining.
"They are leaving early Viv, aur teri toh neend bhi nhi khuli abb tak", Vigyaan shook head.
"Uhmm neend toh aa rhi hain. Bhabhi sa aap jaaiye, you know sleep is important right? Jaldi waapas aaiyega. Byeee", he waved at her smiling cutely and stiffling a small yawn.
While Nitya waved back giggling, his three brothers controlled their urge to roll their eyes at his antiques.
"Chale Yuvrani sa?", Vardhaan asked holding out his hand for her which she gladly accepted giving him a breathtaking smile.
He opened the door to passenger seat for her and once she was settles comfortably, he took the driving seat.
As they drove closer to their destination, Vardhaan felt her demeanor change slightly.
He could feel her getting nervous as her legs shook slowly.
Glancing at Nitya, he slowly placed his warm hand on her lap giving a squeeze to calm her. Instead, she gasped at the sudden invasion to her thoughts.
"Relax Jaana, we got this hmm?", he intertwined their fingers and kept it on her lap. She rested her head back as his warm touch calmed her senses slowly.
Vardhaan parked his black Aston Martin db12 Coupe infront of the lavish mansion. It had the royal emblem of the Suryavanshis carved with gold at the front. An array of black Mercedes and Wrangler, filled with security personnels and guards followed closely behind.
Though the concrete structure looked elegant and warm, same could not be said about the mindset and behaviour of the people residing inside.
He got out of the car and opened the door for her. Taking her clammy hand in his and helped her out of the car.
"Jaana, even though I don't want to let you be there alone even for a minute, par Mahadev ki saugandh, agar yeh itna zaroori nahi hota toh hum kabhi nahi jaate", he said cupping her face as they stood in front of the main door.
Holding his wrist, she smiled at his concern. "Main dhyaan rakhungi Yuv I promise. Jaldi aaiyega, don't keep the Yuvrani waiting for long Yuvraj", she smiled wholeheartedly, giving an assuring squeeze to his wrist.
He kissed her forehead, "Dhyaan rakhiyega humaari biwi ka. Hum jaldi aa jaayenge unhe ghar le jaane".
"Hum poora khayaal rakhenge aapki biwi ka Yuvraj, bas aap jaldi aaiyega", she hugged him for a while, letting her nervousness wash away in his embrace as he held her, filling her with a wave of belief and confidence.
He bid her bye, kissing her forehead once again and settled in the driving seat. He glanced at her direction only to find her smiling and blinking her eyes assuringly.
With a deep breath, Nitya rang the doorbell. The door opened to reveal Sarika, dressed well enough to deceive outsiders into her goodness.
Sarika's face morphed into displeasure as soon as she opened the door but eyeing the guards around, she put on a smile welcoming Nitya.
"Aaja beta, andar aa", she said pulling Nitya inside which felt anything but gentle, but looked so from a bit far away.
..................................................................................
"Sir, Ahlawat will be there in a few minutes", Shrivastav informed Vardhaan as he stepped in the office, in all his glory, with Shrivastav following closely behind.
"Are the arrangements done?", he asked in a monotonous voice which left no space for a negative answer.
"Yes sir, the microphones and micro cameras have been attached at the reserved business suite, all arrangements have been made in your cabin. The screen and headphones as well, have been set up", Shrivastav briefed, trying his best, not to stutter.
He entered his cabin and sat on his chair instructing, "For the next 30 minutes, I want no disturbance otherwise you, as well as the person, except if family, be ready for the consequences".
His gruff voice made Shrivastav quickly agree as he left the room in a hurry to convey the commands.
Vardhaan sat there, his eyes glued on the screen as he watched the meeting commence. He could hear their conversation.
[Aarambh unlocked the suite and entered along with Naman Ahlawat.]
Vardhaan clenched his fists as Naman came into view. He wanted to kill the Maheshwaris for even thinking about marrying of Nitya to a man who was maybe a couple of years younger to her so called father, and to think that Vaidehi being a lot younger, had to stay with this man made his blood boil.
[Aarambh - Mr. Ahlawat, finally I have the pleasure of meeting you.
He took out two wine glasses from the cabinet and settled on the couch beside Naman, pouring the drinks.
Naman - Though I can't say the same for you Aarambh. Teri woh behen. Tum log mujhe dene wale the na usko?? Kya hua?? Uss Yuvraj ne aake saara maza kharaab kar diya.
Aarambh - W...woh pataa nahi iss ladki ne Yuvraj ko kaise phasaa liya. But I promise I'll bring that bitch back to you. Bas yeh deal mujhe milni chahiye Mr. Ahlawat.
Naman - Jo karna hain jaldi karo. It would be a shame if such a beauty isn't under me and my mercy soon. Abb toh woh Vaidehi bhi jawaan ho gyi. Abb toh wifey pe haq jataana banta hain.
He let out an evilish laugh as Aarambh refilled their glasses.
Aarambh - Maze toh aapke hain Mr. Ahlawat. Double the girls, double the fun.
They laughed at the thought, sipping their fifth drink.]
..................................................................................
"Humaari izzat toh kabhi rakhi nahi, abb jab Yuvraj ko phasaa ke shaadi kar hi li hain toh kam se kam unn logo ki hi izzat rakh leti", as soon as Nitya came into view Ashlesha's voice boomed through the walls.
"Kya matlab hain aapka Dadi sa?", Nitya uttered in a shocked state.
"Yeh, yeh kaise kapde hain? Naa koii dhang ki saree, naa bhaari gehne. Unn logo ne tujhe dhakke maar ke nikaala kaise nahi abb tak? Aisi hoti hain Raj parivar ki bahuyein?", Sarika shouted at her.
Nitya closed her eyes and fisted her hands. Taking a deep breath to calm herself, she uttered, "Aap log shaayad bhool rahe hain, aapke saamne Jaisalmer ki Yuvrani Nitya Vardhaan Singh Suryavanshi khadi hain. Aur rahi izzat ki baat, toh meri beizzati karke aap log khud Raj parivar ki beizzati kar rahe hain".
Irritated with all the shouting, she sat on the couch. She felt her knees shaking as she faced them, but no. She won't let her fear overpower her courage today and let them have their triumph.
Letting out a breath she started again. "Aur rahi iss saree ki baat, toh Dadi sa, aapki nazar mein jo cheap ya low standard hain, woh darasal elegance hain. Yeh saree mujhe Bua sa ne aur jewellery Kaki ma ne di hain".
"They too must have thought that you are not worthy of all those beautiful clothes and precious jewels", Sarika smirked.
"Trust me Mrs. Maheshwari, as the future queen of Jaisalmer, these beautiful clothes and precious jewels don't hold my interest to a larger extent. Yeh jo maine pehna hain, mere liye bohot sundar hain. Being royals, hum apni dhan daulat, mehnat se, aur Mahadev ke aashirwaad se kamaayi luxuries ka dikhaawa nhi karte. Modesty and simplicity are qualities the royals, aur yeh baat aap log ofcourse nahi samjhenge".
Aarambh entered the room, drunk, and stumbled before steadying his steps.
Nitya stood up instantly, eyeing him and stepped back, looking at his enraged form. His eyes were blood red as he staggered on his feet.
The way he looked at her made her want to hide somewhere for a moment, to protect herself from his eyes. And all she could think and hope was for Vardhaan to come back soon.
Kritika tried to approach him but he signalled her to stay wherever she was.
It just took him a moment to drag Nitya from her place, holding her wrist tightly.
Swinging her in front of him, he gripped her shoulders tightly.
"Aarambh..kya kar rahe hain?", Kritika tried to move forward but was stopped by his deadly glare.
Nitya sneakily clicked the button on her safety alarm.
"KYA SAMAJHTI HAIN TU APNE AAP KO? YEH JO USS VARDHAAN KE NAAM PE UDD RAHI HAIN NA, EK SECOND NAHI LAGEGA MUJHE TERE PAR KAATNE MEIN. I'LL SEND YOU WHERE YOU BELONG. NAMAN AHLAWAT KE PAAS. THAT'S THE PLACE YLU DESERVE. WOH JAANTA HAIN TUJH JAISI KO AUKAAT MEIN KAISE RAKHTE HAIN. ABB INN PAPERS PE SIGN KAR PHIR TUJHE TERI SAHI JAGAH CHHOD KE AATA HU. HE'LL FUCK THIS ATTITUDE OF YOURS", he shouted on her face, grabbing her shoulders.
"Main aapke saath kahi nahi jaaungi. Samjhe aap? Aur na hi kisi paper pe sign karungi. You have no right to decide for me", Nitya said looking into his eyes even though her heart thumped loudly against her chest and her eyes stinged with holding tears.
He pushed her a bit and raised his hand to slap her. But before she could feel the stinging affect on her cheek, a loud gunshot was heard.
Nitya opened her eyes abruptly stepping back, only to find Aarambh lying on the floor wriggling in pain as a bullet shot through his palm, the same one he raised to slap hee with.
"I wasn't even kidding when I said I won't let any fucking one try to even touch my wife, disrespect her and get away with it", there stood Vardhaan with a smirk on his face, swirling his gun with one hand.
He walked up to Nitya and held her close, gently rubbing her arm. She leant on him basking the warmth that calmed her senses.
The Maheshwaris stood baffled at whatever happened. Kritika stood numb for a moment looking at her husband.
Kissing the side of Nitya's head assuringly, Vardhaan knelt down looking at Aarambh.
"Teri pehli galti, humaari biwi ki taraf dekhna. Teri dusri galti, humaari biwi par chillana, jinse humne aaj tak oonchi awaaz mein baat tak nhi ki. Teri teesri galti, humaari biwi ko chhoona, unhe chot pohochaane ki koshish karna. Aur teri sabse badi galti, unn par haath uthaana. Abb teri har galti ki sazaa hum khud denge", he seethed in anger.
Getting up, he held Nitya's hand and walked towards the ladies who stood there, not knowing what to do right now.
"Yaad rakhiyega, Nitya Vardhaan Singh Suryavanshi biwi hain humaari, aur Jaisalmer ki Yuvrani bhi. Unki izzat karna seekh lijiye agar iss sheher mein, Rajasthan mein apni jhoothi hi sahi, izzat banaa kar rakhni hain. Unki aankho mein ek bhi aansu aaya, toh hume khud nahi pataa hum kya karenge. My wife's respect is equal to mine. Now that you got a glimpse of the consequences, I hope you won't mess with it. Aur hum unki izzat rakhne ke liye kuchh bhi kar sakte hain. Kuchh bhi. I wont think twice before destroying every damn reason of my wife's miseries. Ummeed karte hain aap yaad rakhengi 'sasu ma'. Khamma Ghani".
He called for few of his men who instantly entered and bowed their heads respectfully.
"Saale sahab ko hospital le jaaiye, ilaaj achhe se hona chahiye. Yaad rahe, yeh ghar waapas aayenge toh poori tarah se theek ho kar. Abhi kaii hisaab karne baaki hain", he ordered eyeing Aarambh as well as the Ashlesha and Sarika.
Earning a positive response from the guards, he turned to Nitya. "Jaana, ghar chale?", he asked softly, all the while holding her hand and rubbing her palm with his thumb in a soothing manner.
She hummed and he picked her up in his arms. Wrapping her arms around his neck, she finally let her tears fall as his protective embrace hid her away.
Pecking her head, he walked towards the entrance with his wife in his arms, not before hearing a painful cry from Aarambh as he intentionally stepped on his injured hand, pressing it more with his shoes, smirking.
