He sighed and handed me a basket.
"Five things." He said.
"Sorry?"
"You get five things. Hurry up, I don't have time to stand here all day."
"No, I can't! I really-"
"Drop the humble act and get to it."
"I wasn't acting...."
I took the basket and walked through the isles.
Oh, this looks cool.
I picked it up and examined it.
Ah. It's pricy.
I set it down and it walked away.
Oh look at this cute figurine.
I set it in my basket and walked on.
I wonder how much a new console would cost.
JESUS!
I decided I was too poor to look at that.
What about a controller? Mine is acting up.
I leaned in to look at them better.
Still too expensive.
I muttered the name of the one I was most interested in before walking away to the book section.
After choosing my five items, I turned to Gun.
"Alrighty, I got... my... what's that?" I blinked as I saw Gun with four baskets full of stuff.
"What does it look like?
I looked closer.
It was all the stuff I picked up and set back down, as well as the stuff I stared at for more than five seconds.
"You have your five things?" He asked and some workers came to help Gun with the baskets.
"Um, yes. You sure picked out a lot of stuff." I smiled.
"It's my money, I get to choose what I spend it on."
"I'm not attacking you. It was just an observation."
We went to the front counter with the workers and they began to scan the items.
My jaw dropped when I heard the total price.
"You know what, Gun? I really don't need my stuff. Just get yours." I smiled at him nervously.
"What, you think I can't afford it?" He asked tapping his card.
"It's not like that!" I shook my head.
"Do you guys need help taking this to your car?" The nice man asked and smiled.
"No." Gun turned and left with the bags.
"Thank you so much!" I smiled and waved before hurriedly following Gun who called for me.
"What's all this?" DG asked.
"Stuff." Gun said.
"It's getting late, the karaoke bar is probably full by now." Goo sighed.
"Oh, I'm sorry." I frowned.
Maybe if I hadn't taken so long picking out my five items, we'd have made it on time.
