How to USE CLICHÉS AWESOMELY
In everything that I read, it always says one thing. AVOID CLICHÉS. But why? Yes, they are over done, and yes, they are predictable, but that's what makes them clichés. We all want the hero to end up with the princess in the end. If the princess ends up with the villain and becomes evil, it kind of screws the whole story over.
That's why in this How to, I'm going to teach you how to utilize CLICHÉS AWESOMELY. So, first things first, what the duck is a cliché?
Cliché: an over used stereotype. Such as, all nerds wear glasses, or the good girl always gets the bad boy.
But how do we use these clichés correctly so our story will have what all the readers want, but it will be epic, an unlike any other story?

#1: Do the opposite
Instead of writing the perfect cliché of hero gets the girl, flip it around and do the opposite! Make the girl die, or have the hero fall in love with someone else. Make the villain steal the girl and take her as his bride. Be creative and do the opposite of what the readers expect. Don't be afraid to kill off characters, because what's the fun in all of them living anyway?
#2: Plot Twist
Instead of continuing with your entire story being a cliché, make something happen that prevents the ORGINAL cliché for awhile. Perhaps the popular cheerleader finally wins back the love of her nerdy ex, but then she dies or disappears. Make your story interesting with lots of twists and turns.
#3: As luck would have it!
Oh my, just in the nick of time, the hero is saved or something awesome happens and everyone is saved. This is a very overused one. But think about it, if your hero wasn't saved, then how would the story go on? Would it be like Saw, and they pass on their legacy to the next in line?
But sometimes you want to expect the unexpected, and do what your readers may not expect. Take Harry Potter for example. The whole Good vs. Evil thing is way over clichéd. We all expected Harry to beat him from the first book and on, and that was a good thing! Of course there was little niches along the way, but in the end we got our grand finale.
Yay!
#4: Balance
Sometime you have to give the readers what they want. Everyone expects the lead characters to fall in love and defeat the evil dude. But that can't always happen. There may be battles that the hero's can't win. But in the end, they always win the war.
You have to have an equal amount of OMF WTF and OMG I CALLED IT! in one story.
#5: Be You
抖阴社区 what you think is awesome. If you think the hot MC should end up with the nerdy librarian girl, go for it!
Use whatever CLICHÉS you want to, but do it moderately, and make sure your story has a satisfying ending.
