Among the busy streets of daegu
Y/n's Pov:
I arrived to the library late, hoping and praying to God I didn't miss out on my favorite author's novel release, moving past the creatures that are called 'humans' I finally made my way towards the stand, only to find out they're sold out, I groaned both mentally and physically.
I've waited for so long, but never thought a stupid nap would make me regret something so much when I wake up.
My nap which I considered would last for 1 or 2 hours ended up turning Into a full time 8 hours of sleep.
Now I missed out the only chance to grab my favorite author's new novel. Which was sold out everywhere else.
I've never been more disappointed, I left the library sitting on the nearby bench as the librarian lady turns the lights off in the library before closing it completely.
I rolled my eyes at probably myself as I rested my head backwards, it was 9 pm so I decided to do something to cheer myself up
THUD
I immediately turned my gaze towards the noise, watching a young man who had stumbled and started speaking to the librarian. The only words that I picked up were.
"return" "novel" "I don't like it"
I tried to focus on the book he was holding and my eyes lit up, it was the novel that I've been wanting. My body reacted on its own and I stood up immediately walking towards him, the librarian lady was shaking her head to the man.
"hm hi excuse me" I said a bit awkwardly, the librarian lady just shook her head and walked off, the man tried stopping her but he groaned softly.
"uh hey- why are you trying to return it.." I spoke again, not giving up. He turned to me as his gaze lingered on me, head to toe twice while he poked his tongue inside his cheek.
"because this wasn't the one I wanted and my dumbass friend got it for me just because the title is the same" he replied casually.
"Can I buy it off of you?" I asked, getting straight to the point. And he narrowed his eyes.
"hm fine whatever, it costed me 29.95$" he said confidently and I knew he added 14$ more to that but I didn't care, I needed it, I immediately searched for my wallet in my purse
"cash or card" he thought for a bit "cash"
I pulled out a 30$ and handed it to him which he took easily, after all he just scammed me but whatever.
"thanks, great doing business with you" he replied as he shoved the money in his wallet and handed me the book, which I grasped in my palms with satisfaction.
There a moment of silence and for some reason he kept staring at me while I continue to admire the book cover.
"what's so special about this book anyway that you paid me that amount so easily" he asked suddenly amd I turned to him with a smile.
"I shouldn't really spoil you because these are worth reading.. And I've been looking for this book for so long.. It was sold out everywhere and today was one of the last stocks which I missed out. But gladly I bought it off of you" my tone was soft and gentle, after all I was talking about something I really loved.
"I didn't knew this was rare, I should've charged you more" he jokes, I looked at him with an raised eyebrow and he chuckled "I'm kidding"
Silence fills the night air once again.
"so what's your name?"
I looked at my hands a bit awkwardly.
"y/n and you?"
"yoongi" he replies.
Then the silence was filled in the air once again. "do you wanna go for some ice cream?"
