Sunlight streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the bedroom. Ginny stirred, blinking as she adjusted to the morning light. The house was quiet, except for the faint rustling of leaves outside and the distant chirping of birds. It was a rare moment of peace, one she hadn't realised how much she missed.
She turned her head slightly, smiling as she took in the sight of Harry beside her. He was still asleep, his face relaxed, one arm draped lazily over her waist. His hair was messier than usual—if that was even possible—and his breathing was slow and even.
For a moment, she just watched him.
It had been a long time since they had a morning like this, where they weren't woken by James's cries or Harry rushing off to work. Last night had been perfect, reminding her of how things used to be before life got so busy. Before parenthood, before late-night shifts and exhaustion. Just the two of them.
Ginny carefully shifted, pressing a soft kiss to his forehead before slowly untangling herself from his hold. She had just managed to sit up when she felt a familiar wave of dizziness wash over her. Groaning, she closed her eyes, taking a slow breath, willing the feeling to pass. But then nausea hit, sudden and overwhelming.
Before she could think, she scrambled out of bed and rushed to the bathroom, barely making it in time before she was bent over the sink, gagging.
She gripped the edges of the porcelain, breathing heavily as her stomach twisted painfully. It wasn't the first time this had happened, but that didn't make it any less miserable. She squeezed her eyes shut, waiting for the nausea to fade.
She barely registered the sound of footsteps behind her before she felt a gentle hand on her back.
"Gin?" Harry's voice was groggy with sleep, but laced with concern.
She exhaled shakily, rinsing her mouth before looking up to meet his worried gaze in the mirror. His hair was even wilder than before, and his eyes were still half-lidded with sleep, but there was no mistaking the concern in them.
"I'm fine," she murmured, voice hoarse.
Harry didn't look convinced. "Ginny, that's the third time this week."
She sighed, running a hand through her hair. "It's nothing. Probably just something I ate."
Harry frowned. "Maybe you should see a Healer."
Ginny shook her head. "I don't need a Healer, Harry. It'll pass."
Harry studied her for a moment before sighing. "Alright. But if it happens again, you're letting me take you."
Ginny smiled weakly, leaning into his touch as he cupped her cheek. "Deal."
He kissed her forehead before pulling her into a hug. Ginny let herself relax against him, closing her eyes. She didn't know why she kept feeling this way, but she wasn't ready to dwell on it just yet.
For now, she just wanted to stay in Harry's arms a little longer.
