𝑺𝒉𝒊𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒊 𝒑𝒐𝒗:
He tried to separate. But I didn't move. Actually, he was smelling so good. I will surely get addicted to him.
"Icecream parlour band ho jayega, baby" he whispered in my ears.
(The ice cream parlour will close, baby)
I finally released him but I am surely looking like a tomato now. He called me 'baby' but still 'cutie' was better.
"Dhaat" I playfully hit his chest
"You are distracting me. Don't bite that lip" he teased.
"Oh I didn't realise".
At icecream parlour
"What do you want?" he asked.
"Caramel cup"
"Two Caramel cup"
He took the icecream and extended a 200 rupees note.
"Keep the change"
I stared at him. 'Kuch zyada hi paise hai inke paas' I thought.
(He have a bit too much money)
Then we sat on the chairs and I tried to open the cup but couldn't.
I extended my icecream to him.
"Khol dijiye"
(Open it)
"Mujhe kya milega"
(What will I get?)
"Mai kya de sakti hu?" I asked confused
(What can I even give you?)
"Video call everyday till our mehendi"
"Okk par ghar pe mamma baba bhaiya sab honge" I said explaining to him.
(Okay, but mom, dad, and my brother will all be at home)
He opened my icecream in a single attempt and gave me.
"Toh sabko pata toh hai".
(Everyone already knows)
"Aap samajhte nahi ho, they will tease me".
(You don't understand)
𝑨𝒖𝒕𝒉𝒐𝒓 𝒑𝒐𝒗:
He gave a warm smile with real intention to tease her.
Instead of eating his ice cream his gaze was eternal and unbroken on her. His gaze fixed on the way she delicately licked the melting ice cream, her lips curling into a satisfied smile. He watched, mesmerized-not just by the way she savored each bite, but by the unguarded, natural, childlike joy in her expression.
"Mujhe kya ghur rahe hai, apni icecream khaiye" she said annoyed
(Why are you staring at me? Eat your ice cream)
Realizing how lost he had been in watching her, he quickly averted his gaze, focusing on his own ice cream. A warmth spread through him-different, unfamiliar, yet strangely sweet. His lips curled into a shy smile, and without even noticing, a faint blush painted his cheeks, betraying the emotions stirring within him.
After that they went to the hotel and had their lunch and went to her room for rest.
She was in washroom while her phone rang. Avinash seeing 'mamma' as the person he picked up and put on speaker.
"Hello, Shivani, tu thik hai na? Khana khaya? Call kyu nahi utha rahi thi? Unhone kuch ulta seedha toh nahi kiya na?" She asked in one breath
(Hello, Shivani, are you okay? Did you eat? Why weren't you answering the call? He didn't say or do anything wrong, right?)
"Maaji, calm down. Saas toh lijiye" he said playfully.
(Aunty, calm down. Take a breath)
"Tum? Shivani kaha hai?" her mother asked in disbelief.
(You? Where's Shivani?)
"Yes, it's me. She's in the washroom. Shivani bilkul theek hai, khana khaliya hai hamne--breakfast and lunch, both. Shoot ke time sabke phones silent tha, aur ulta seedha... mujhe toh nahi lagta maine kuch kiya hai par yeh baat Shivani se hi confirm kar lijiyega" he said, answering her questions one by one.
(Yes, it's me. She's in the washroom. Shivani is absolutely fine. We've eaten-both breakfast and lunch. During the shoot, everyone's phones were on silent. And as for anything inappropriate... I don't think I did anything wrong, but you can confirm that with Shivani herself)
While she came out from washroom and heard only his last sentence.
"Phone dijiye..."
(Give me the phone...)
"Na doon toh?" he smirked
(What if I don't?)
She shows her anger by furrowing her eyebrows, narrowing her eyes, and pressing her lips in a pout.
He extended her phone. "Gusse mai bhi cute lagti ho" he smiled teasingly.
(You look cute even when you're angry)
She put off the speaker.
"Hello"
"Shivani, tu theek hai?"
(Shivani, are you okay?)
"Nahi, inhone mujhe subah se pareshan kiya" she replied.
("No, he's been troubling me since morning)
"Really?" He asked squinting his eyes and took the phone back and turned the speaker on.
"Aunty, pehle toh maine Shivani ko neend se uthaya, fir jaldi ready hone ko kaha par isne ek ghanta laga diya, icecream ki demand ki, woh bhi poori ki. Pura parlour arrange kiya taki ise sajne savarne mai problem na ho, Aur phir... dress ki"
(Aunty, first I woke her up from sleep, then told her to get ready quickly-she took a whole hour. She asked for ice cream, I fulfilled that too. I arranged the entire parlour setup so she wouldn't face any issue while getting ready. And then... the dress..!)
She snatched the phone before he could complete and glared at him.
"Mamma tum..."
He looked with a teasing smile said "Aap hi batayiye, pareshan kaun kar raha hai?"-loudly enough for her mother to hear.
(You tell me, who's troubling whom here?)
"Shivani, kya inhone sach bola?" her mom asked on the call.
(Shivani, is he telling the truth?)
"Hmm... par inhone bhi mujhe pareshan kiya," Shivani said with a playful pout.
(Hmm... but he's been troubling me too)
"Kaise?" he asked, squinting his eyes.
(And how's that?)
She looked into his eyes and complained sweetly, "Hamesha mujhe ghoorte rehte hain."
(He keeps staring at me all the time)
"Aur?" her mom asked again.
(And?)
"Meri permission ke bina tumhari phone kyun uthaya?"
(He picked up your call without asking me)
"Aur?" her mom continued, clearly enjoying the banter.
(And?)
Shivani quickly muted the call, "Bata doon? Aap mujhe blackmail karte ho, aur touch karne ke bahaane dhoondhte rehte ho."
(Should I tell her you blackmail me and always look for excuses to touch me?)
He smirked, leaning in, "Agar apne pair par kulhaadi maarni hai toh keh do."
(If you really want to get yourself in trouble, go ahead)
He said knowing, she hated being teased by her family
She unmuted the call and said, "Aur kuch nahi."
(Nothing else)
He gave her a mischievous wink. She glared at him with fake annoyance.
"Aur tune itna pareshan kiya, uska kya?" her mom pressed on.
(And what about all the trouble you gave him?)
"Tum unki hi tarafdaari karo, mujhe tumse baat hi nahi karni," she huffed and handed the phone to him in mock anger.
(Go ahead, take his side! I don't want to talk to you)
"Shivani, baat kar lo. Tumhari maa ko fikr ho rahi hai, isiliye call kiya hai," he said softly, handing the phone back with a smile.
(Shivani, talk to her. Your mom's just worried, that's why she called)
Shivani pouted cutely, like she always did when she gave in. "Hello, bolo... kya bata rahi thi?"
(Hello... tell me, what were you saying?)
"Ghar kab aaogi?" her mom asked warmly.
(When are you coming home?)
A smile came to her face at her question
She glanced at him.
He gently took the phone from her and said, "Aunty, agar koi urgency ho ya aap chahein to raat ko journey kar sakte hain, lekin kal jaana behtar hoga."
(Aunty, if there's any urgency or if you'd prefer, we can travel tonight-but it would be better if we leave tomorrow)
"Urgency nahi hai beta, jo behtar hai wahi karo," her mom replied.
(There's no urgency, beta. Do whatever works best for you both)
He handed the phone back to Shivani.
"Shivi, ab rakhti hoon."
(Shivi... I'll hang up now)
"Okay, byeeee!" she said, and ended the call.
He looked at her teasingly. "Main tumhe pareshan kar raha hoon, hmm? Are you not happy?" he asked, furrowing his eyebrows.
("I'm troubling you, hmm?)
"Nooo, it's not like that..."
"Then?" he raised an eyebrow. "I can even even postpone the marriage if you want" he said gently.
"No, actually everyone one's invited" she said.
"Ok, as you wish"
"Do you want to rest now?" he asked after a while
"No, itna bhi tired nahi hoon," she replied, sitting on the bed and resting her head against the headboard. He mirrored her posture on the other side of the bed.
(No, I'm not that tired)
(Imagine their position, just for reference)
𝑨𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒂 𝒍𝒐𝒏𝒈 𝒎𝒐𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕 𝒐𝒇 𝒔𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒏𝒄𝒆...
"Aapke mamma bahut acche hain. Kairavi di bahut lucky hain," she said softly.
(Your mom is really sweet. Kairavi di is so lucky)
"She's caring for you, not for us," he said, pretending to sound jealous.
"Accha hai. Atleast I can complain about you to someone."
(It's nice)
"To shaadi ke baad mujhe pareshan karne ki planning chal rahi hai!!" he said, narrowing his eyes at her
(So, you're already planning to trouble me after marriage!)
"Abhi tak socha nahi tha, par idea accha hai" she giggled
(I hadn't thought about it till now... but sounds like a good idea!)
"So cute. My dream girl. Karlena pareshan... haq hai tumhara"
(Go ahead, trouble me all you want-it's your right)
"Aap bahut acche ho...par shaadi ke baad badal to nahi jaoge?" she asked hesitantly not knowing herself even the question is proper or not.
(You're really nice... but you won't change after marriage, right?)
"Mausam hoon kya? Pyaar karta hoon, aur hamesha karta rahunga," he said with a gentle smile.
(Do I look like the weather to you? I love you, and I'll keep loving you forever)
"Ab chalo shoot ke liye?," he added, extending his hand towards her.
(Now, let's get back to the shoot?)
She took his hand and said with a smile "So filmy".
They completed their pre-wedding shoot at a serene temple. She wore a traditional saree-of course, with help-and he looked dashing in a cream Sherwani. Keeping in mind the sanctity of the holy and public space, they skipped romantic poses and kept it simple, respectful, and traditional.
(Imagine him in this Sherwani)
(Imagine her wearinng this saree)
For the first time, both of them truly prayed-not just as individuals, but as a couple stepping into a shared future.
He wished 'Bhagwan jaldi se yeh shaadi karwa dijiye, I really love her so much. Isse aise hi innocent rakhiyega...kitna cute lagti hai.'
(God, please let this wedding happen soon. I love her so much. Keep her this innocent always... she looks so adorable)
She wished 'Bhagwan ji, yeh acche toh hain, par daatte bhi hain. Theek hai, caring hain... bas hamesha caring rahein. Mujhse hamesha pyaar karein. Meri future inke saath chahe jaisi bhi ho, bas khushiyan zaroor honi chahiye aur meri chhoti-chhoti demands poori honi chahiye. Aur ek last baat... mujhe padhai ke baad job karni hai, bas usme koi rok-tok na ho.'
(Dear God... he's really nice, though he does scold me sometimes. That's okay-he's caring, and I just want him to stay like that forever. May he always love me. No matter how our future turns out, please fill it with happiness. And one more thing... I want to work after completing my studies-please let there be no restrictions on that)
As the pre-wedding shoot ended, she walked in silence beside him, eyes lowered, fingers nervously entwined with his, the reality struck-her marriage day was near. She would soon leave her parents, her home, and step into a new world with a man she barely knew. The silence wasn't peace-it was fear masked in obedience, a stillness filled with questions she was too afraid to ask out loud. It was fear wrapped in duty, trembling beneath acceptance.
𝑰𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒅𝒆 𝒉𝒐𝒕𝒆𝒍 𝒓𝒐𝒐𝒎:
"Kuch toh baat hai... You can share anything with me. Believe me" he said gently breaking the silence.
(There's definitely something on your mind. You can share anything with me. Believe me.)
She looked at him, hesitant.
"Main hostel se padhai kar sakti hoon?"
(Can I stay in a hostel and continue my studies?)
"Never. Tum mere saath rahogi. Bharosa rakho mujh par, I really love you" he said with a serious dominant tone.
(Never. You'll stay with me. Just trust me, I really love you)
"Ek baat batao... har ladki ka sapna hota hai ki uska pati rich aur handsome ho. Tumhara nahi tha? Batao, tum apne future husband mein kya qualities chahti thi?"
(Tell me something-every girl dreams that her husband should be rich and handsome. Didn't you? What qualities did you want in your future husband?)
She looked at him, her heart torn between truth and guilt. It wasn't the dream she had. But her dreams were now clouded by the reality of a forced marriage. Deep inside, she longed for love, freedom, and respect.
She was hesitant, torn between truth and fear. Her heart wanted someone-caring, loyal, respectful-but the shadow of a forced bond clouded her words.
