All of them knew the two of them had worked together on the kira case but they found it hard to believe that L would date a serial killer.
"How would you know that?" Mello questioned accusingly.
"Playing detective games with him he has a similar thought process to that which we know of Kira. Plus other reasons." They all knew much about the kira case through L himself and Matt's hacking skills. "And I don't think it's highly unlikely for L to date the world's worst serial killer, who else would be a better match for him?"
"Well what're we going to do?" Mello almost yelled, infuriated by Nears apparent all-knowing knowledge.
"I guess we work together and observe like I said." Matt finally spoke and Mello glared at him. He despised Near and yet they felt like brothers in the same way him and Matt were best friends and felt like brothers. Although it was a little different with Matt because they weren't afraid to sexualy experiment with eachother. He grunted and shrugged then they all headed down stairs only to find L and Light were leaving again.
L and Light went back talking about L's three most likely heirs. But when they got home all information was dropped as they went to the nearest bedroom. Until their meal they satisfied each other and walked out with ragged clothes and smiles. Watari was still trying to get used to L and his boyfriend. He almost disapproved of them sleeping in the same room but he remembered it wasn't his place and they were adults. They had nothing planned for that day so they just lounged about their new house half naked.
They did pure nothing for the whole day but snuggling up in the many different bedrooms. But at evening they knew what they had planned. A couple of games of hide and seek later L went to get more candy from the special room he had put in. Light waited in the next bedroom for him to return then realised that it was becoming dusk. He got out of bed and left the room headed for the kitchen.
L walked to the room he left Light to find he wasn't there.
"LLIIIIGGHHHT!" He echoed throughout the house and Light smiled hearing L.
"IN HERE!" He yelled from the kitchen and L ran down the stairs. They ate and lent against each other on the sofa watching the news. Light was refusing Kira time to write down names and it had been awhile since Kira had enough power to take over Light so instead he just screamed in Light's head.
They ate slowly so when they were finished it was night. They stayed snuggled up for a bit until Light remembered what L said yesterday after leaving Wammy's house. Light shifted slightly and L turned to look at him but before he could even breath, Light lied on top of him kissing him. L smiled also remembering yesterday's promise.
"Not here." He whispered quietly. Light wrapped his arms around his back and kept kissing him as he got up and ran towards their main bedroom. He threw L on the bed and took off the rest of the clothes he and L were wearing.
The promise?
On the way home from Wammy's house L and Light spoke to each other.
"I'm truly very impressed. You handled Near very well."
"That was terrifying! And well Near he's lovely but I honestly had no idea what I was doing."
"Well, you did great."
"Who were the other two boys?"
"Mello the older one and Matt on the game."
"What were you and Mello talking about?"
"He asked who you are and I obviously said that you were Light Yagami and you were my boyfriend. He was shocked and started asking how I could love someone and I told him I just felt it. Then I looked at you and saw you having a panic attack and finished off with, and I love him then ran to your side to stop you from fainting." Light blushed and smiled widely. "But you did really well Light. I think we're going to have to do something special."
"What?"
"Well, Kira isn't coming out anytime soon..." He gazed at L with round eyes.
"Can we?"
"Yes."
"You're going to let me?"
"Yes."
"Wow! When?"
"Tomorrow."
Now here they were lying on their bed both naked, kissing, and Light about to do it.
"Are you sure L?"
"Is Kira at rest?"
"For now yes."
"If he get's too loud or starts laughing or something, you stop and leave the room. Okay?" Light nodded and begun.
Half way through, dripping with sweat and enjoying themselves greatly, Light looked right at L. He looked beautiful with his hair flung all around the pillow, sweat dripping down his elegant body. I love him. Light thought. Wow I really love him! I love him, I love him, Ilovehim, I love L! I LOVE L! He screamed it in his head and suddenly there was a loud deep screech in his head and he fell backwards. L got up, worried and panicked. Light had fainted and as he knelt beside him, his mouth suddenly opened and it was as if he had just exhaled smoke. It looked like something left him and then his head turned and he was out cold. L started to worry about what had happened to Light so as to keep their modesty in tact, he dressed the two of them and made the bed then laid Light out along it. L called for Watari who hurried up there and examined Light.
"Is he dead?" L asked nervously.
"No he's not dead L. He's got a bad fever and is very sick." L stood at the foot of the bed, thumb to mouth anxiously. "He'll need lot's of rest and care."
"Watari we need to fly to Japan."
"Why?"
"I need to speak with Light's father."
"Well who will look after Light?"
"My heirs."
Watari called Wammy's house asking for Near Matt and Mello to come to L's house. They were driven there whilst Mello bit at his chocolate and Near played with his toys and Matt was on his video game again. They were outside L's new house staring at the door, all arguing and contemplating about why they were here.
"It's definitely Light Yagami." Near said.
"Has he admitted to being Kira?" Matt didn't participate in the conversation as he was nearly beating his game. "Has he killed L!" Mello freaked out and hammered on the door but when L
opened it he hugged him so tight that L winced in pain.
"Mello what are you doing?"
"I thought Kira killed you!" Mello spouted before thinking. L's eyes widened.
"Come inside all of you." He stepped to the side and they walked in. Matt finally put his game away after reaching a checkpoint. They helped L pick this house so went straight to the living room.
"Explain your analysis." Both Matt and Mello pointed at Near who told L how he figured it out. L listened and was slightly amazed.
"Okay now listen..." L explained the truth and Mello was constantly amazed. Even Matt's jaw dropped.
"So why are we here?"
"Last night Light fainted and I watched as some kind of smoke thing left his mouth. He since has not woke up and has fallen very sick. But I need to go to Japan and speak to Light's father."
"Yes of course, because you just ran away. So hang on do you want us to look after Light?" Mello jumped from his chair smiling, waiting for L's reply who nodded slowly. Mello smiled excited as he knew how important this was. L walked the boys up to where Light was sleeping.
They walked in and was slightly shocked to see how bad he looked. He was dripping with sweat and breathing very heavy and uneven. They stood around the bed watching him and L Looked concerned. Near liked Light and was glad he had been chosen to help him.
"I need you to look after the house and Light. But I need you to be responsible, no fires, no murders, no kidnapping..." The list went on for a while and the three boys listened, only because they knew they had done all of these things in the past; they were also trying to find a loophole but L would give them none. "And please keep an eye on Light, help him get better. Cool him down or keep him warm when necessary. Feed him, give him his drinks, give him the correct amount of medicine which is..." He demonstrated the correct amount and Near played close attention. Meanwhile, Mello and Matt couldn't wait to be left alone in the house.
L was at the door ready to leave and he turned to look at the boys.
"Look, after, him." He begged with desperation in his eyes. The three boys nodded and L kissed each of their foreheads and turned away with Watari. Mello slammed the door shut and turned with an evil grin on his face. Near instantly grabbed his toy box and ran for the room Light was in. Matt looked at Mello and figured it was best to leave him so instead he pulled out a cigarette and went to plug in the game console. Mello walked upstairs and began to explore the rooms.
Near slowly pushed the door to Light's room open.
"Light?" When there was no response he walked in and shut the door behind him. He sat on the edge of the bed beside Light and got his giraffe out of the box and began to play with it on the bed. Near watched Light sleep peacefully but then his breathing heavied again and he was getting hotter. Near got up and ran around the room frantically, opening the window and then hurrying downstairs to get a wet flannel. He hurried back to Light and dabbed his forehead. Light cooled down and Near breathed a sigh of relief and turned back to his toy box. He pulled out his train set and began to build around the room.
Mello ran in and out of all the rooms and looked around for things he knew he shouldn't be seeing. He found case files in some rooms and sat on the bed reading them. He found them fascinating and enjoyed seeing the confidential material. Another room he went in to contained things for L and Light's, alone time. He took a couple of the things for when him and Matt felt like experimenting again. He then found a room with loads of what looks like torture equipment. His favourite room that he found was a room for L's sugar tooth. Mello quickly looked around and found a box full of chocolates. The box came up to his waist and he carried it out into one of the bedrooms and lied out on the bed, eating the chocolates whilst using some of the lubrication he picked up.
