Ash and I spent the rest of the night in one of the extra rooms. When I checked my appearance that morning, I was shocked at the devastating sight. My eyes were red and swollen; it was hard for me to open them. My head hurt like hell, like I had the worst hangover in the world, and it looked as if someone just ran me over. It felt like it too.

I threw some water in my face, both to wake me up and cleanse it.

I returned to see Ashton holding two trays of food. I took a small bite and stared out the window. It was now somewhat visible to look out, but it sure as hell didn't look like 9 in the morning. It was obvious the wind was blowing like crazy; the trees looked like they were hanging on to their roots for dear life. Rain was pummeling down on top of us, but it sounded more like a millions quarters being dropped on to the ceiling at once. The occasional rumbling of thunder was heard along with a bright flash outside- the only thing that lit up the dark sky.

The bad weather wouldn't go away and I frowned, inching to throw my tray at the window, as if I could control it in the first place. It only increased the emptiness I felt radiating from inside.

I no longer felt like I was being stabbed in the gut every time I took a breath. I didn't feel like the person I cared about the most on this Earth could die any second now. I bottled that up and shoved it to the side, welcoming the numbness to take over me. No matter how hard I tried to cry, my eyes stayed painfully dry.

I jumped when I felt my phone vibrate in my lap. I picked it up, tearing my eyes away from the window long enough to read the strange number that pop up on my screen. My finger hovered over the end button, but my curiosity got the better of me.

"Hello," I replied lamely, my voice monotonous.

"Is this Camille Novak?"

I frowned at the sound of my name being used. I loathed it with a passion.

"Who's asking?" I basically snarled into the phone.

"My name is Calum Hood."

I wanted to throw up. I got up and walked out of the room, ignoring Ashton's questions. The hallway was lit by a couple of light bulbs, but they were dull, as if they didn't have enough energy flowing through them.

"What the f.uck do you want from me?" I spat into the phone, trying my best not to throw it onto the floor and crush it with my foot.

"Ok please listen to me. I know I have a lot of explaining to do, but I'm sorry about Chicago. I wouldn't have ever tried that on you if I knew you were-"

"I was what? My mother's daughter?"

The line was quiet and I partially hoped that he hung up.

"I didn't know. And I didn't know she was married," he whispered sadly.

I clenched down my jaw, refusing to feel an ounce of sympathy for him. "Either way, you still cheated on her, with me."

His voice then poured into my ears in an outburst of frustration. "Don't act like you didn't initiate it first! You acted as if you were interested in me, and asked me to come with you to that party. Don't act like I'm the only guilty one."

I knew he was right, but I wouldn't let him have it. "What do you want?"

He sighed, and I could imagine him rubbing his eyes with his hands. "Like it or not, I was in love with your mom. After what happened, she came back to the house with a gun and told me what she did to her husband and her daughter. I was furious. I demanded to know what the f.uck she was hiding, and to find out that Luke, was her husband and you were her daughter? How do you think felt?" He raged on the other end.

"She was crying like a baby, screaming about how the police are going to come for her, and how the voices are getting louder. I told her to get out, and that she was crazy. Jocelyn begged, even got on her knees, but I couldn't see past her betrayal. Plus, it was obvious that she was completely insane. So she left. And I don't know where she is."

"And now?"I question, agitated.

"Now," Calum continued, "I want to make it up to you. I had the pleasure to know you once and I screwed it up. Your mom left her phone with me so I made the effort of finding your number. I know how hard things are right now, and I know Luke meant a lot to you."

"Stop f.ucking talking about him like he's gone!" I screamed, completely losing it at his words.

"Cami, please, I'm sorry. Just, let me take you away. Get your mind off of things? I'll be there in 10."

Before I could get a word out, the line cut off and I threw my phone on the chair next to me. I leaned my back on the wall, flinging an arm up to my neck when I felt like I couldn't breath because of my tears.

He's not gone. I told myself, sliding down the wall and curling up into a ball, hands around my knees. I started rocking back and forth, as if that was a way of comforting myself.

Luke can't be gone. He can't be.

Longer chapter yay! What do you think Calum wants? And I'm not satisfied with this chapter so there might be a little editing sorry.
