"Is it really necessary that we have to go to these things" Vladimir asked sounding bored. We were at our first parenting class. I thought it was a good idea for a few reasons. 1 I don't know anything about babies and I was hoping to meet other women close to my due date so that my baby could have a friend when she comes out.
"We've been over this, You and I know nothing about babies what so ever. We don't know how to change nappies or feed or anything so this needs to be done" He gave me a look but didn't press the matter further
"Ok class I am your study teacher Mrs Marshall. Now on our website it said every female lady had to be 3 or more months pregnant to take this class. Now that we have that settled I would like to start introductions everybody in the front row please tell us your name, your partners name and if you know the sex of your baby"
"My name is Felicia Stone. My partner is Steve Stone and we are having a little boy"
"I'm Kristen Anthony's, This is my boyfriend Jacob Kingsley and we don't know the sex of our baby yet" That continued on for some time. Girls introducing them selfs and their partners. It finally came down to us
"I'm Lucy Briggs and this is my partner Vladimir and we're having a little girl" I said cheerfully. People clapped and I sat back down.
"Ok well since everyone has been formally introduced we can start with our activities for the day" We processed on doing everything Mrs Marshall told us. By the end of the day both Vladimir and I had learned how to change a dirty nappy and how to burp our baby.
Just as we were finished packing up a girl whose name was Karla with no partner came up to us
"Hi I'm Karla, you probably already know that. Anyway I just wanted to say how nice it is to meet new people who are having a baby the same time as I" She said smiling nervously
"Well as you know I'm Lucy and this is my partner Vladimir. Is this going to be your first child?" I asked
"Yeah it is, My partner couldn't make it today he had a business meeting" She rolled her eyes "A business meeting my ass he just didn't want to come with me"
"Trust me I know what your talking about Vladimir begged me all week not to come but it's important for both of us to be here you know the father should know just as much as the mother. I'm sorry but we have to go if you'd like we could grab a coffee after the next class?"
"That would be nice, Well nice to meet you both bye" She walked away and Vladimir proceeded to take our bags back to the car
"If I'm being completely honest she seemed a little off" Vladimir said pulling out of the car park
"What do you mean? She seemed nice"
"She was fidgety and acting nervous. That could only mean one thing"
"What's that?" He looked at me for a second before turning back to the road
"I can't be a hundred percent sure but it could be drugs" I gasped. Drugs?
"You can't be serious. Drugs? I mean she's pregnant and if she were on drugs how could she afford the class?" I asked confused
"Well on the website it said you can pay how ever you want to meaning she could be paying a certain amount every so often which would be a lot easier then paying the full amount straight out" We pulled up to our house and I got out shocked. She couldn't actually be on drugs right?
"If she is on drugs what's going to happen to the baby when it's born?" I walked into the kitchen and got a glass of water. The Dr said to drink a lot of water this close to the pregnancy
"When she's in the hospital they might do a random drug test and the baby could get taken away from her but like I said I don't know if she's actually on drugs it was just the vibe she was giving" He came over and wrapped his arms around my waist.
It's been 2 months since I've been here which now means I'm 7 months pregnant. We decided to give us another chance but we're taking things very slow. I'm still learning to trust him and his still learning to let go of the past.
"So we're there any couples you thought were friend material?" I asked trying to change the subject
"Hmm not really" He said kissing my neck. God how I missed his kisses and his touches
"What about Robyn and Jordan? They seemed nice and Robyn's 6 months pregnant"
"They were nice but did you happen to miss the bruises on Robyn's arms?" How in the hell could he have seen that
"Bruises? Like she fell over kind of bruises?"
"Let's just say we don't know what goes on behind closed doors. We will leave it at that ok now I'm going to run you a nice bath. While your in the tub I have to do some work on the computer for a little while in my study" He walked up stairs to the bathroom and I heard the water being turned on.
I went up to our bedroom yes our bedroom. I peeled off my cloths and put my robe on. When I walked into the bathroom the tub was already full with bubbles.
"I'm going to my study but when ever your hungry come and get me ok?" He kissed my lips softly then left the room. When he left I slid the robe off my bare body and jumped into the nice water. It felt so relaxing.
I stayed in there for a good hour or so. When I got out I heard the door knocking. I slid on my robe again and walked downstairs to the door. I was half expecting Gabriel but instead was greeted by a gorgeous girl with dark blonde hair. She was wearing a dress way to inappropriate to be walking around outside in and her heels made her look like a cheap hooker. Her face was covered in make up and her lips were as red as Vladimir's eyes.
"May I help you?" I asked. Wondering why she was here.
"Oh hi wow your pregnant" She laughed a fake laugh that made me sick "I'm Gemma Lewis Vladimir's assistant" She extended her hand. No way! No way in hell this little bitch was Vladimir's receptionist. She shoved past me and into the house. She was making her way to Vladimir's office.
"Um excuse me? What do you think your doing? I didn't say you could come in" I grabbed her arm and pulled her back roughly. That was when she lost her cool
"I don't give a shit if you said I could come in or not. This is Vladimir's house not yours you trashy slut! I've been here plenty of times to know where I'm going so excuse me" But when she turned around she was face to face with Vladimir "Hi Vladimir" She said in an innocent voice
"Gemma what are you doing here?" His voice was hard and cold
"I was wondering if you wanted to go to lunch or something?" She twirled a piece of her stupid blonde hair
"Gemma we've been over this. I fired you a month ago and I told you not to come here ever again now get the hell out before I do something I just might regret" He grabbed her arm and all but pushed her out the door.
"Vladimir what did she mean she's been here enough to know where she's going?" I was dreading the answer. He took a deep breath and turned to face me
"Gemma and I have some history together" He said coming to stand next to me
"Did you sleep with her when we were broken up?" He went wide eyed
"God no! No. But a few years ago Gemma and I well we sort of dated. I ended things because she was too clingy and needy. I didn't want that at the time. I hadn't heard anything from her up until 3 months ago. She begged me for a job saying she was close to losing her house so I gave her one and I found out she was lying so I fired her and she's been coming here unannounced ever since"
"Ok, Um I don't really know what to say to that so I'm just going to forget this happened and go and lie down"
"Of course you definitely need it" He helped me to our bedroom and tugged me into bed. It took some time but eventually I fell asleep

When I woke up it was dinner time so we decided to just get take out.
"You shouldn't be eating this junk food but I'll let you off this one time" I stuck my tongue out at him and we both laughed. We ordered from my favourite Chinese restaurant. After we finished eating he came over and put me on his lap
"You know I can't believe that we're going to be having a baby of our own it's a miracle" He nodded and kissed my lips. The kiss starting out slowly but began to get heated. Before I knew it I was being lifted up and he was making his way into the bedroom. When inside he gently laid me on the bed and hovered over me, Planting kisses everywhere.
"Vladimir I really want to continue but we can't" I said trying to push him away
"Why not baby? It's been so long since we've been intimate I've missed you so much" He mumbled against my neck.
"I know I've missed you too but we can't. Not this close to the pregnancy" He gave a defeated sigh and got up
"I guess your right" He laid on the bed and patted spot next to him. I immediately crawled over and laid my head on his chest. He started playing with my hair
"You know I never got to ask but what did you want to be when you finished high school?" The question caught me off guard
"I always wanted to open my own bakery. It wouldn't have hot food or anything just all kinds of sweets" I said remembering when my life actually had moral and goals
"And what would this bakery be called?" He asked. Kissing the side of my head
"Well when my grandma passed away I vowed to name it after her. Jane's Sweet Tooth Bakery" I shook my head trying to erase the memory out of it "But it doesn't matter anymore because that's not how life played out for me" He understood the change in the mood and changed the subject
"You know Gabriel has been bugging me all week asking when your going to do your baby shower" I groaned
"I already told you I don't want one" He shook his head
"You have to have one, You can invite Shelly and some women from the Pregnancy class if you'd like. I know my mother would invite some of her family and friends and Gabriel is dying to help you organise it" I thought about it for a second
"Fine fine I'll have a damn baby shower but please tell Gabriel to let me pick the cake that's the only thing I want" He smiled and kissed my lips
"Of course baby anything you'd like" He reached over and turned the light off pulling me even closer to his body.
