5 Months Later - Dec 2nd
"CUT! And that is a wrap on Mark, Brittany and the movie. Good job everyone and have a good holiday season," the director shouted.
Mark and I hugged each other and everyone else in the cast and crew before I headed back to my dressing room. All my little Knick knacks that I had brought where packed up and already in my car. I just needed to change into my normal clothes before heading home. When I opened the door to my dressing room there was a huge thing of roses. I changed quickly before I read the card attached to the flowers.
"I hope your last day on set was amazing. I can't wait to get you home later. I love you to the moon and back. Xo D"
"Woah who sent you these?" Mark asked as he walked into my dressing room.
"Dave of course. Thank you again for mentioning this movie when we were at Fallon. I'm so glad I did it," I replied.
"Good man you got there and don't mention it. I told you you were perfect for the part. Here I got you a little something for Christmas because I know you love him and me," Mark said as he handed me the bag in his hand. I took it and pulled out a Ted teddy bear.
"No fucking way. I have my own Ted. Thank you," I said as I hugged the bear and then him.
"There's another surprise in there but don't let Dave see them. He might get mad," Mark said and I looked down.
"Oh my god Abby is going to die when she sees these," I said with a huge smile.
"The girl that was with you yesterday?" Mark asked and I nodded.
"Yes. She use to have something like this," I said and looked back down in the bag.
"I'll send you another one for her. Better yet, why don't you and Dave come to the Christmas party I'm throwing next week. I could give it to you then," Mark responded with and I just smiled.
"I'll have to talk it over with Dave first. I can't promise anything but I'll let you know. I'm glad we wrapped a bit early. I can actually get to my appointment on time now," I responded as a knock came at the door. I looked behind Mark and saw Dave.
"Hope I'm not interrupting anything," Dave said as he walked in. I walked over to him and gave him a kiss.
"Nope I was just inviting you guys over for a Christmas party next week. Kids are welcome. Brittany was just saying she had to ask you first," Mark responded with.
"Well depending on the day, we should be able to do it. Babe we have to go if we want to make the appointment," Dave said and I nodded.
Mark and I hugged again and said good bye while Dave picked up the flowers and the bag with Ted in it. Dave had gotten dropped off by Taylor so we only had one car. I let Dave drive like I always did and he didn't argue when I played a song he didn't like. I was nervous about today. I was a couple months late and had said that it was just stress but Dave insisted we go just so we know. When we got there, we headed inside and waited in the waiting room. I was bouncing my knee up and down and fiddling my fingers while we waited.
"Hey calm down. We've done this before," Dave said as he put his hand on my knee.
"I know but I do this every time because I hate doctors. What if they tell me I can't get pregnant anymore. It's scary," I replied.
"You are stressing and worrying for no reason. We're here to find out if we're having another one or not. Relax, breathe and think about all the ice cream you can eat again," Dave said as he rubbed my back.
"I can eat ice cream again. I knew I married you for a reason," I said back. Dave chuckled and pulled me into him and kissed my head.
"Brittany Lane," a nurse called out. Dave and I both stood up and followed her to a room. I got ready and was laying on the table when the doctor came in.
"Brittany, Dave, good to see you two again. Let's find out if there's another little one on the way," she said as she walked over to the machine. Dave grabbed my hand and kissed it as she did what she had to do. I was looking at him as she moved the wand around on my belly. When Dave started smiling like an idiot I turned to look at the screen and the doctor.
"Am I?" I asked as I looked at the monitor. I still couldn't make heads or tails of the thing.
"You are pregnant. That's your little one right there," she replied as she showed me. I felt Dave kiss the side of my head and I smiled even bigger.
"How far along?" I asked back.
"You look to be about 11 weeks. Now I want you to relax more during this pregnancy so Dave please don't break another leg until this one comes out," the doctor said and winked at me. I covered my mouth as I started laughing.
"I'll try not to. She's safe to fly until the last trimester right?" Dave asked as she wiped the gel of my belly.
"I'm going to say she needs to stay home for the last 4 months so slow down are the 5 month mark. Don't over stress yourself but she should be perfectly fine to fly for the next 2 months," the doctor replied.
We talked to her a bit more before heading home. When we got home, I went upstairs and started getting ready for a Christmas party at one of Jordyn's friends house. I knew who the girl was and was not entirely happy with going but Dave had said yes without talking it out first. I had to suck it up and go. I was going to be the outsider at this party. When I was ready, I headed downstairs and into the kitchen where Dave and the kids were.
"Mama pretty," Eric said when he saw me.
"That she is," Dave said as he got up and walked over to me. He gave me a kiss on the cheek before going back to the table.
"Mom is always pretty. She's the prettiest girl in the world," Kurt said as I walked over to the table. I kissed Kurt's head and smiled.
"I like your dress mama," Meredith said as she finished her dinner.
"Thank you sweetie and thank you boys," I replied and picked up her plate. Eric pushed his plate towards me with his peas still on the plate.
"Eric you need to eat your peas," Dave said as I grabbed Kurt's plate and walked over to the sink with them.
"Peas yucky. Mama never eats peas," Eric said and pushed his plate further away.
"Mama is an adult and doesn't need to eat her peas. Eric eat your peas please," Dave responded with and pushed the plate back towards Eric as I walked back over to the table. Eric pushed it away again and before Dave could push it back, I picked it up. Eric smiled at me while Dave just shook his head.
"He doesn't need to eat them if he doesn't want to," I said as I threw them in the garbage. Anne and her teenage son Nathan came into the house then.
"I like baby trees," Eric said as Kurt and Meredith stood up and ran over to Nathan..
"You two look amazing. Here Mr. Dave I'll take James from you," Anne said. Dave handed her James while Kurt and Meredith went to the living room with Nathan.
"Thanks Anne. We should be home around midnight. We're not staying out that late. Cinderella over there is the designated pumpkin driver," Dave said and I couldn't help but giggle.
"Well I hope you guys have fun. I'll put the kids to bed once they're done their homework. Nathan is grounded so I hope it's not an issue with him helping me tonight," Anne said as she walked with us to the door.
"It's perfectly fine. Thank you for watching them tonight. You're ok with next week as well right?" I asked as Dave helped me put on a coat.
"Of course I am. Is there anything special you'd like me to do with the kids tonight?" Anne asked.
"Mama take me with you," Eric shouted as he ran out of the living room. I picked him up and let him snuggle into my neck.
"I can't baby boy. As much as I want to, I can't. Just let them watch a movie and then bed time. Are you sure we can't bring him?" I asked as I turned to face Dave.
"Are you really that uncomfortable with going that you want to bring Eric so you have something to do all night?" Dave asked as Anne walked upstairs with James.
"Kind of," I replied.
"Please daddy. I'll be really really really really good," Eric begged. He stuck his bottom lip out and put his hands together and blinked his eyes at Dave.
"You may look like me but you are exactly like your mom. There's going to be adults drinking and partying. Both of you stop pouting at me. It's adults only Eric and you know that babe," Dave replied. I looked at Eric and he looked at me and shrugged.
"Well I could stay home then. I mean I can't drink anyways," I said and Dave just shook his head.
"You're already dressed up and ready to go. I'll make you a compromise. We'll go for a couple of hours and then come home. Jordyn isn't drinking either so you won't be alone," Dave said as Anne came back and took Eric from me.
"Ok I'll go but I want serious cuddles when we get home," I responded with as Dave opened the door.
Dave and I headed out to the party and we had fun. Dave kept me close by for most of the night. Most of the people asked me about the kids and I showed them pictures. I was also asked by a few people if I was doing anything new and I said I finished a movie and would probably making music but not touring. I was going to be a mom first. Jordyn eventually pulled me away from Dave to talk to me. We talked about her, Lucas and the girls coming over on Christmas day like they had last year and about why neither of us were drinking. Jordyn and Lucas where expecting just like Dave and I. Dave eventually came and got me and told me it was time to go. When we got home, we headed straight to bed and where making out like teenagers when Eric came into our room and asked if he could sleep with us. We agreed and he snuggled up to my front while Dave snuggled up to my back.
