Sean didn't hesitate before hitting send on his phone. He had Alex's number saved to his phone due to a project they had to do together last semester, but he knew that Alex didn't care enough to save his number into his phone. Or he hoped so.

They were sitting in French class, and Sean made sure that he was sitting in the seat directly behind Alex and Colton. He wanted front row tickets to the show, after all. He sent a text right after the collection of photos he'd managed to snap in the library had went through.

'A loyal best friend you have there. "Alex can never know about this." If only fucking your best friend's girl was that simple.' It read.

Sean shoved his phone quickly back into his pocket and pretended to get to work, lowering his head back to the desk as he heard vibrations resonating from Alex's pocket. Alex smirked and waited until the teacher wasn't looking before taking out his phone and unlocking it.

Sean arched his neck to get a closer look at the screen, sighing in relief when he found that the text had been sent by an unknown number on Alex's screen. Sean rested back in his seat and looked down at his textbook, his eyes flickering back up at the other boy every now and again to assess how furious he had got.

Alex was pissed, it wasn't hard to tell. He sat in his seat and trembled with rage, but to Sean's disappointment, he didn't act upon it. He kept his cool, just barely. In his peripheral vision, Sean could see Alex's hand balled up into a tight fist, blood dripping from where his nails were digging unrelentingly into his palm. Sean shivered, for once glad that he wasn't Colton, because if Alex can draw blood just by digging his nails into his palm... It made Sean shudder thinking about what he was capable of outside of school.

The bell rang to signal the end of the day, and everyone got up from their seats, cheerful that they got to go home for the rest of the day. Alex also stood, but it was clear that his anger was reaching the surface, and was fighting to burst through with every moment that passed.

Sean assessed the situation, and decided that for once, he wouldn't scamper out of class before anyone could yell an insult at him or grab him by the shirt collar. Instead, he took his time in packing up his supplies, keeping a watchful eye on the two who had made his life hell.

He figured it'd be safe to walk out the school doors at the same time as everyone else that day, knowing that he wouldn't be the target, at least not Alex's target. He felt a rush of pity when he thought about what was about to happen to the unsuspecting Colton, who kept his smile intact even after he had failed to coax a single word from Alex's lips, but as soon as that pity had come, it was gone. He deserved this.

Sean decided to play a dangerous game, and stuck close to Alex and Colton as they headed out of the school. Colton was practically bouncing with every step, while Alex's face burned a dark shade of pink. They made their way through the front doors and out into the school yard, heading towards the front gate, but before they could make it there, Colton grabbed Alex's arm and forced them both to stop.

Sean, unaware that this was taking place, walked forcefully into the back of Alex, earning a threatening growl, but most of Alex's anger was focussed on Colton at this point, so that was all that Sean received, luckily.

"Dude, what's wrong?" Colton asked, genuinely concerned for his friend's lack of communication. Alex's anger was boiling over at this point, and after hearing these three seemingly harmless words, he wasn't able to contain it any longer, digging his hands into his pockets to retrieve his phone.

"What's wrong? What's wrong!?" He repeated, his eyes bulging and his voice louder than Sean had ever heard it before. A few students stopped in their tracks and looked on suspiciously.

"I don't know Colton!" Alex continued, his voice continuing to rise, sounding more crazed after every word. "Maybe the fact that my best friend is fucking my girlfriend!" He yelled, causing Colton to take a few steps back, only for Alex to follow him, closing the gap once more as he glared at him, his jaw clenched and his fists shaking.

By this point a reasonable sized crowd had gathered around the two, and Colton looked around fearfully, searching for someone to help him, his eyes even falling on Sean pleadingly, but Sean only looked on in amusement. His lip curled upwards as he stared into the eyes of the man who had ruined the last month of his life, and who was in this scenario, utterly helpless.

Alex brought his phone up to Colton's face, no doubt showing him the pictures he was sent of the two of them in the library. Colton stared at them, horrified. His usual wide smile replaced by a look of terror and weakness. His lower lip trembled, as if he was about to cry, and the crowd of intrigued students continued to grow in number, Sean standing proudly in the inner ring.

"Alex... bro... look, I can... I can explain." Colton stuttered, the usual charm in his voice being substituted with fear as he took a few more steps back and raised his hands defensively, preparing himself for Alex's first swing.

Alex chuckled slightly, blowing hot air from his nostrils as he smiled for the first time that afternoon. His expression returned to unforgiving as he locked eyes once more with Colton.

"I'm not your bro." He sat emotionlessly before raising his fist and driving it forcefully into the side of Colton's face, causing him to fall back immediately, his back pressed into the soft grass as he clutched his face, staring up at Alex disbelievingly, a steady stream of blood running down from his left nostril into the crack of his lips.

A strong cheer erupted from the crowd as it was confirmed that this fight would be physical. The shouts continued as Alex once again closed the gap between him and Colton, kneeling down on top of him, his knees on either side of the downed man's body. He sat down on Colton's torso and continued the assault, bringing his fists up rapidly and firing them down just as forcefully as the first hit, each of them connecting with a crack or a thud on Colton's unshielded face.

With each hit, Colton's face became less recognisable and Alex's mental state became less controlled. He looked like a mad man as his fists rained down on the completely helpless man. Colton had long since lost consciousness, not bringing his hands up to cover his face since the fourth or fifth hit, and now Sean realised that Alex might be nearing his 30th strike.

The crowd's cheers and shouts had died down, the only noise being Alex's grunts and the sound of bones cracking under his fists as the students looked on in what could only be described as horrified fear.

Eventually, Sean snapped out of his stupor, and decided that this had gone too far, running into the centre of the circle, and using all of his strength to try and pull Alex off of Colton's lifeless body, but to no avail, as Alex shrugged him off effortlessly and continued his assault.

Sean got back to his feet, and this time with the help of a few other people who had been inspired by his first attempt, he was able to pry Alex's body off of Colton's. He was still thrashing, but the other boys who helped were doing their best to calm him down, and steady his breathing.

Sean looked down at Colton's unmoving body, and wanted to throw up when he saw the usual cheerful boy lying unconsciously in a pool of his own blood.

Sean had got his revenge, and then some.

---

The first thing Sean did was change his phone number. He realised how severe the situation was, and the last thing he wanted was for the whole school to find out who it was that stimulated Alex to do what he did.

Of course, there were consequences for Alex's behaviour, but he was back in school within two weeks of the incident. Everyone was scared of him, he even looked like he was scared of himself. One thing that he kept saying was that he'd never be Colton's friend again. It may seem insensitive, but Sean smiled when he heard this. He had single handedly broken the strongest bond in the whole school, and what made it sweeter was that they were finally getting a taste of their own medicine.

Colton returned to school three weeks after that day, his face still bruised and stitches still holding together the skin on his face and forehead. He was recovering, and the doctors said he'd only have a few small scars, and so Sean didn't feel very guilty at all about the whole ordeal.

Their credibility around school had dropped also. Everyone was too scared of Alex to talk to him, and nobody seemed to want anything to do with Colton after what he had did with his best friend's girlfriend.

Colton knew though, Sean could feel it. He knew that Sean was the one who sent the photos.

---

Sean walked into his French class late, he wasn't getting bullied as much as he used to. He'd still get the usual forms of abuse, but just not as often as he used to. He scanned the room, and was displeased to find that there were only two seats available. One next to Colton, or one next to Alex.

Sean weighed his options, and decided that it would be less physically dangerous to sit next to Colton, whose head was rested on the desk anyway. He walked over and greeted him shyly, causing the other to look up at him, his expression immediately turning sour when he realised who had just taken a seat next to him.

"You." Colton spat, holding his glare and forcing Jack to look into his dark blue eyes, regretting his seating decision immediately. Alex seemed like a friend compared to Colton right now.

"I know it was you, Sean." He said, his voice low and threatening. "You sent those pictures to Alex. You ruined the best relationship I ever had, my reputation!"

Sean looked to him innocently and grinned lightly. "I think you did that to yourself when you made out with his girlfriend." He muttered coolly. "Oh, and if you ask me, you each got what you deserved."

He turned his icy gaze away from Colton, who looked on at him, open mouthed, and obviously shocked at the retaliation.

"Wait... So you admit you did it?" Colton asked, his eyes boring into the side of Sean's face once again.

"I never said that." Jack replied calmly, before turning to face Colton and restoring eye contact. "Either way, you both had it coming."

Jack shifted in his seat as the lesson started, his focus returning to the board, leaving Colton to do nothing but stare at him, dumbfounded. Internally, Sean was screaming, but on the outside he had to remain nonchalant, uncaring.

"Karma's a bitch." He mumbled, feeling Colton's face heat up as his glare became more intense.

---

Sean couldn't get Colton's words out of his head as he headed down the street towards the shop for more milk, by his fathers orders. He didn't mind really, he enjoyed the short stroll down the quiet streets, even when it was raining lightly, like it was today. Today, however, he couldn't stop thinking of what Colton had said to him.

'You'll regret what you did, Sean. I have friends that you'll wish you had never met.'

He tried to push it to the back of his mind, as he neared the store, eager to get shelter from the intensifying rain.

Before he could get into the store, however, he heard an ear-splitting shriek coming from the alleyway just across the road from where he was, and froze in place. Another scream echoed from the alleyway, it sounded like a young woman, and Sean debated whether he should go and help or ignore her clear cries for help and enter the store.

The good in him took over, however, as he gave in and decided to help after yet another scream. He sped up to a jog and was soon in the abandoned alleyway, looking around fruitlessly for the cause of the commotion, but there was nobody there.

Sean shrugged and turned on his heel, he must've been hearing things. He stared down at his feet and began to head back out to the main street, but was stopped abruptly when he walked into something, and looked up to see a middle aged man looking down at him. His grin was threatening, and Sean's first instinct was to run in the other direction, but he was cut off once again, this time by a woman who looked to be in her twenties.

Sean walked back until they were both an equal distance from him, holding his hands up in defence though he knew that his lack of combat skills would severely hinder him here.

He felt an unbearable fear was over him, he was certain that he was going to die or end up in hospital, as the two individuals smiled at him menacingly, the rain droplets bouncing off the man's bald head and leather jacket somehow making the whole situation all the more terrifying.

His train of thought was interrupted by a third figure rounding the corner of the alleyway, as Sean turned and squinted through the drab downpour to see it better.

Sean's face twisted into a scowl when he recognised who it was approaching the three of them, smiling his signature smile, and walking just as confidently as he used to.

"Colton!" Sean yelled angrily. "What the fuck is going on?" He demanded.

Colton chuckled as he drew even closer to Sean, his light brown hair darkened by the rain and plastered to his forehead. "You made me angry, Sean, and I don't like getting angry." He said, grinning to the bald man, who opened his mouth ominously and wiggled his jaw.

Sean turned his attention back to Colton, and was ready to lash out just as the woman behind him grabbed him by both shoulders and held him in place. The other two men walked closer to him, their misted breaths brushing his face in the cold rain. Sean struggled to break free, but it was as if the woman had an iron grip, he couldn't move.

"So these are my friends." Colton sang with a sickening smile. "We're gonna teach you a lesson, and then... then you're not gonna bother us again. Understand?"

Sean could only manage a nod, staring wide eyed at the man on Colton's right, who continued to twist his face in all directions. He looked to be in some pain, but he calmed down when he opened his eyes.

Sean found himself staring into bright red eyes, the pupils hardly dilated at all, making the red stand out all the more. The man opened his mouth once more, revealing a set of crooked fangs.

Sean thrashed in the woman's arms, desperate to get away from whatever that... that thing was. Colton watched on, an amused grin playing on his freshly shaved face.

Without warning Colton pulled down the collar of Sean's shirt, exposing his shoulder. Sean continued to thrash helplessly as he growled at Colton, pure hatred in his eyes.

"This might sting a little, Sean." Colton beamed, practically dancing on the spot with excitement, as the man with the red eyes leaned in closer and closed his jaw forcefully around Sean's shoulder. Sean screamed out in pain, but Colton placed his hand his mouth to suppress it slightly. Sean saw this as an opportunity and bit down hard on Colton's fingers, causing him to jump back, cursing in pain.

The woman smacked him on the back of the head, and soon Colton was face to face with him once again, examining his bleeding fingers.

"You might want to cover that up for your parents, Seany boy." He joked, his lightheartedness returning as he traced the bite mark that the man had left behind with his finger. The woman threw Sean to the ground and the three of them began to back out of the alleyway.

Colton stopped midway, however, and turned on his heel. "Oh, and Sean? Just remember, that when an alpha bites you, you belong to him." He laughed to himself and disappeared around the corner, before popping his head round once more. "Good luck adapting... Alone. What's the saying? Karma's a bitch?" He sang, before disappearing around the corner once more, this time for good.

Sean was left confused at what Colton said, and more afraid and alone than ever.
