[Name] POV:
Everything seemed like a blur, as if last night was just a dream. You could only hope it was. King Regis was gone, and that was it. He made his choice.
All you could remember was Nyx, running, right before a large crash was heard before it turned to black.
You slowly opened your eyes. Picking yourself off the mattress you were laying on. Your head throbbed badly, as you slowly turned your head to find Cor on the phone.
"Cor..?"
His face turned soft seeing you awake, as he ended the call with whoever was on the other line.
"You're alright. That's a relief."
"What happened? Where's Nyx?"
You tried to lift yourself off, but Cor stopped you. "Don't. Your body needs time to rest, just..stay here. I'll be back in a few hours."
He headed for the door, but you stopped him. "But..what about Nyx? What happened to him?". Cor held the doorknob, squeezing it.
"Gone."
Oh.
"..Oh."
You were at a lost for words, you couldn't remember much, but knowing Nyx was gone, and you couldn't remember any of it, made your heart sink.
Cor was about to leave again, when you stopped him, again. "Wait. I'm coming with you." He sighed, "I know you want to. But, you're in shape to fight."
"Please, Cor. If Noctis has yet to know the truth behind the passing of his father and fall of his kingdom,
..he needs to know it from the person who saw it first hand."
You didn't want to think of how Noctis was feeling, knowing his father sent him away the day the attack happened.
It was beyond imaginable.
Cor clicked his tongue and shook his head.
He stepped away and threw your jacket onto the bed.
"I'll give you 5 minutes."

Inside the car, the skies had become cloudy. If fitted the atmosphere, and the heartbreak you were feeling.
"The crown city. What happened?"
"If you can't tell, Niflheim attacked us when we were most vulnerable." Cor explained.
"As the barrier was down, that's when Niflheim made their first move. It was unexpected and they were much more powerful." Each explanation came along with memories.
You watched the rain trickle down the window, the soft splattering before streaming down. "It only came to an end when Nyx sacrificed himself."
"Nyx.."
"Millions died that day. Insomnia's filled with magiteks. With no way in, and clearly, no way out." Cor's pace slowed, meaning he was done with explaining.
It was hard enough to explain than to memorize.
You looked at him. "Noctis? You were on the phone with him, weren't you?" Cor nodded. "He was the first to call me. I was surprised. His voice clearly showed he was in pain. He even lashed out on me, I don't blame him."
"I can't imagine what's going through his head.."
"Yeah..but at least the three of us have something in common."
"We're alive."
The rest of the ride was silent, and the rain poured down harder.
The tomb was in a deserted place, and you could feel the dark energy it radiated.
"Ready?"
"Definitely."
You fought your way through the tomb, and waiting for Noctis, you heard footsteps that were neither yours nor Cor's.
You looked to the entrance. Prompto was first to enter and Noctis was last. When Noctis came through, his eyes fell right on you, growing wide.
"[Name]..?"
You couldn't help but smile.
"Hey..Noctis."

[Name] POV:
Silence surrounded the six, as you took in the fresh breath that lingered around the empty but open plains. Cor headed his own way, off to keep an eye on the imperials, keeping us a step ahead of the empire.
"Where are we headed off to now?" You asked puzzled, "Nightfall is coming, but there is a camping site over there, we could rest there for now" Ignis said.
"Sounds like a plan" Prompto said, excited as you glanced over at Noctis who still seemed upset after learning the truth.
As the other 3 grabbed the camping equipment, Noctis just lounged around before you went up to talk to him "You ok?"
"What happened?"
Noctis spoke firmly, as he tried to keep his composure, but in reality, he was breaking. Seeing you was comforting, yet he struggled to show it on the outside.
What happened that lead to my dad's death?".
You were taken aback. You knew Noctis was never the one to speak in a firm way, but knowing what he was going through, you wanted to be there for him.
You bit your lip, but then took a quick breath in, calming your senses before you spoke, "It's all a blur, but you have to believe me when I say, leaving Insomnia is not your fault".
Noctis froze, which then made you regret your words as they left your mouth, but he didn't react.
He walked away.
You watched his back, and clutched your chest.
"I'm sorry, Noctis."

The night was filled with stars, and the moonlight above radiating down, brought beauty to the pain everyone was stained of, especially Noctis who seemed to wander off after the others had begun to eat dinner.
You walked over to Ignis, asking, "Hey, Ignis. Have you seen Noctis? I..need to talk to him". Ignis' face grew puzzled, answering, "Hm. No, but he shouldn't be far". You nodded and summoned your katana before running out of the safe boundary and going off to find him.
Hours went by, as the night grew colder hoping what you were doing was safe and smart. The empty road came into sight and you believed Noctis had returned to the campsite where the others were hopefully waiting for you.
Sudden shaking caught you off guard, especially when a red giant's arm grew out from the ground with his blade in his other hand. You cursed under your breath just looking at it, but you weren't going down without a fight.
You warped, and started to break the giant's energy but your luck seemed to lead to your own demise.
The giant knocked you out of your warp and sent you rolling down the road. Looking up, the giant walked down towards you, and it reminded you of King Regis in last moments.
You unexpectedly grew angry and threw your katana to warp from a far distance but it connected and you landed on the giant's arm and started to run along it and summoned your katana to stab the giant.
Blood was coming out from your mouth as the giant was ready to strike again, as you were barely able to react.
Noctis warped in, their blades colliding and he finished off the red giant but Noctis didn't seemed pleased about your close-encounter.
"What are you doing here?" Noctis said, annoyed. You were quick to defend yourself. "I was trying to look for you". You picked up your katana and made it disappear as Noctis did the same.
"I can take care of myself. You're my glaive. You're the one supposed to be protecting me. I don't want it the other way around. I don't want to see you or any of the others, hurt. That's why I wandered off."
You didn't know how to feel, emotions were bursting between you two, so you had to pick your words carefully.
"Noctis, listen. You're someone I care about, a lot. So, promise me. Promise me you'll stop blaming yourself for what happened". You moved in front of him, trying to get a clear sign of what he was feeling.
Noctis' fists seemed to have relaxed along with his mood. He looked toward you with soft eyes. Stepping toward you, he unexpectedly rested his head on your shoulder, burying his face in the side of your neck.
"I promise."
