Chapter 7.
The little creature stood before him. It was a small creature, about four feet tall, with pale white skin and a frail body. It looked almost human. It's eyes were quite small and light blue. It was wearing a simple white cloth wrapped around it, almost like a toga. It's arms and legs were quite skinny, evidently it was not very strong.
Adam stood and looked at it. He was sure it was human, but, it wasn't at the exact same time. He wondered if it was a descendant of humanity. That this was what humans would look like millions of years from his time. Another thought crossed his mind as well. What if this creature in front of him was his descendant from his family line. That was highly unlikely, but, he toyed with the idea in his head anyway.
"Hello." He said, so as not to frighten the little creature, "My name is Adam Watcher. What's your name?" He was careful in what he said. He didn't know what it could do, but, he was sure he didn't want to harm it.
The creature looked in to his eyes and then ran away from him. Down the hall it ran and then it turned a corner. Adam watched and then ran after it. He wanted to know who, or what, it was. And he also wanted to know something about where he was. Any information he could gather would be helpful to him.
He turned the corner and saw the creature running in to a small hole at the end of the hall. He ran towards it and looked inside. It was small, dark, and very cramped. He realised very quickly that he wouldn't fit in there. A child could but he was not a child. He was a young adult.
Looking for another way in, he spotted a door. It was blocked by some rubble. He pulled it away from the door. It was fairly heavy and, as he realised, he was a bit out of shape. He was a strong young man, but, he was not strong enough to pick up fallen rocks and a small pillar. Not without tiring himself out anyway.
"This, is something I hate. I don't do exercise." He fell to the floor and had a rest. It was warm. He suddenly realised that the atmosphere of the world was a bit different. It was warmer. The air was much cleaner though and the sky was clearer. The world was very different to what he knew. This worried him. What unknown creatures would he meet? What unknown situations would he find? And how would he be able to protect himself with all the things he had?
A few minutes passed and he stood back up. Curiosity got the best of him. And, as a man of science, he had to work out what was going on. Pushing the door, it opened, and he walked inside.
