AN: since these are not in chronological order Ive decided to put mini time stamps on the top of the chapter so you know where they lie in the story.
Year : 2040
Time since android revolution: one and a half years
Today was a big day. Everyone was nervous. Today the first new human recruit was starting their job at Detroit police department. It would either go amazingly well or horribly wrong. Over the past year and a half, the new recruits had been androids. The humans, such as Y/N and Hank who had stayed behind knew how to work harmoniously with androids... well, in Hank's case, almost harmoniously.
Would the new recruit treat the androids with the respect they deserved? Sure it was a crime to have hate speech aimed at androids but when was the anti hate speech ever put into practice over the many years.
"Police officer Jordan." Y/N read out loud looking at the name plate on the desk that was attached to hers. "Man or woman?" she asked. Hank chuckled.
"Man. Obviously."
"Why obviously?" Y/N asked.
"Because! Jordan is a man's name." Hank shrugged.
"Okay. There is two things wrong with that statement. One, I lived in that community home with a girl called Jordan, two, Jordan is their last name." Y/N sat back in her chair imagining a mic drop. Connor walked up to the two with a coffee in both hands.
"Police officer Jordan is in fact a man." He said passing one coffee to Y/N and the other to Hank. Since he was an android he didn't need to eat or drink like his human partners. Y/N put her coffee down on the desk.
"How would you possibly know that?" she took another look at the name plate. Nothing. She looked at the desk. It was empty. Since the new officer had not arrived there were no personal trinkets. Nothing would indicate they were a man. Y/N looked up at Connor. "Come on Sherlock. Tell me what makes you confident that Police officer Jordan is a man."
"I read the bulletin." He said confidently sitting down at his own desk opposite Hank's. Y/N's mouth opened like a fish.
"The bulletin? Do we even have one?" Y/N quickly turned her computer monitor on and checked her emails. There is was. Sitting in her inbox. A daily bulletin. "Police officer Joshua Jordan. Wow, his parents must have hated him." she chuckled to herself. She took a sip of her coffee and pulled a face. Hank looked down at his.
"Whats wrong with the coffee? Did the milk go sour again?" he looked at the coffee as if it may explode any second.
"No." Y/N sighed and went back to leaning in her chair. "Connor thinks I drink too much caffeine."
"It's not that I think. It is simply fact." Connor defended himself. He turned to look at Hank. "Did you know lieutenant that Y/N drinks 400x the recommended caffeine intake every day."
"That does not surprise me at all." He said with a chuckle drinking his fully caffeinated coffee. Y/N glared at the two men.
The three of them were in their own worlds when Police officer Jordan walked up to them. They didn't notice he was there until a little cough interrupted them. They looked at the man. His hair was light brown, almost ash-y coloured with little curls. His eyes were hazel and he stood at approximately 6 foot.
"Hello. I'm Joshua." He introduced himself. He was nervous. His hands held onto the strap of his bag fiddling with it. He must have been mid 20s. "I, Er, is this desk mine?" he pointed to the desk.
"Unless someone else with your name is starting today..." Hank replied. Joshua gulped and hesitantly sat down in the unoccupied chair. He was terrified of Hank, which is exactly how Hank liked it.
"I'm Joshua. Sorry, I already said that. My friends call me JJ."
"Joshua is just fine." Hank said. JJ looked down at the floor. Y/N extended her arm over the desk.
"My name is Y/N, pleasure to meet you." She shook his hand. "Mr grumpy over there is my partner Hank and the man with him is Connor, my other partner." JJ looked at the other men. Hank had his arms crossed. Connor lent forward in his seat.
"Hello. My name is Connor." He said. He hadn't met anyone new in a while. While his social skills had gotten better, his introduction skills had not. JJ looked at him.
"You're..." he began but stopped.
"An android." Connor finished. "I can see how this might be a shock to you to begin with but I assure you. Working alongside me will go smoothly." Connor reassured. JJ smiled at Connor.
"Well, going by the introduction, working with you Connor is going to be a lot nicer then..." he trailed off and looked at Hank. Y/N sniggered at the comment. Before any of them could say anything else the captain called from his office.
"Y/N, Jordan. Get in here!" Connor began to stand up. "Not you Connor. You can stay there." The captain quickly said. Y/N gave Connor a confused look before walking into the captain's office.
She took one of the seats opposite the captain and JJ hesitantly took the other.
"Y/N." the captain began. He crossed his hands and placed them on the desk in front of him. "I must say. It is a nice change having you in here without having to discuss disciplinary actions."
"It is indeed Captain, but I must ask, why am I in here if not for discipline?"
"As you can see to your left. Officer Jordan is new here and I would like you to be his partner for the next two weeks until we set him up with a more permanent partner. You are here to show him the ropes."
"Sir? I'm confused. Why only me?" Y/N asked.
"Because I don't want Hank to scare him off for Christ sakes. I saw how he acted through my window. He already scared the boy half to death."
"I'm right here..." JJ said lifting his hand.
"I'm not finished talking son." The captain quickly cut him off. "and I don't want Connor because. No offence but we don't know how Jordan will act around androids."
"I like andro..."
"Did you not just here me say I wasn't finished?" the captain said again. Y/N put her hand in front of her face and pretended to cough in hopes to hide her laugh. "Two weeks Y/N. You and Jordan. What do you say?"
"I can't just abandon Hank and Connor. Being partners with someone is being family. I cant just throw away my old family when a new person comes in."
"Can I just say..." JJ began.
"The lady and I are having a conversation." The captain said through gritted teeth. Y/N began to tap her foot on the ground and bite her tongue. "Y/N. when I ask you your opinion. I don't really want it. You are going to work with Jordan on different cases than your other partners. Two weeks. That is all I ask. Now get out. I'll email you your first case." Y/N nodded and stood up. JJ stood up.
"Thank you Sir." He said.
"Get out." The captain said. JJ backed up and closed the door behind him. "I don't think he likes me."
"Nobody likes anybody. To survive around here you need to know two things, don't talk to the captain unless he is directly talking to you and don't piss Hank off." JJ laughed.
"Thanks for the tip."
"I'm being serious." She said deadpanned walking to her desk. JJ adjusted his collar and questioned his decision to work here.
"He said what?" Hank shouted. Nobody looked up. They were used to this by now.
"I have to work with JJ as partners on different cases to you and Connor." Y/N explained.
"Bullshit." Hank said. "I'll go talk to him now."
"Its useless. Two weeks isn't that long is it?" Y/N said. Connor stood up and wrapped his arms around his girlfriend.
"No longer than any other two weeks." He kissed the top of her head. Y/N hummed and rested her head on Connors chest. When they pulled away she gave him a quick kiss on the lips.
"Wait." Connor said. Y/N looked up at him. "You've drank caffeinated coffee recently." He looked at her disappointedly.
"Connor! You promised you wouldn't analyse me!" she quickly picked her bag up. "Shame on you." She teased. She wasn't mad. She was just embarrassed Connor found out she was sneaking caffeinated coffee behind his back.
Due to the cases being different Y/N and Connor began working on different shifts. No two crimes happened at the same time. Especially since Hank and Connor were working homicides while Y/N and JJ were working petty crimes to warm JJ up. They didn't get to see much of each other and when they did, it wasn't for long.
Y/N sat with her hands around her warm coffee that JJ got her. Her feet hurt and she refused to move from her desk. Her shift was almost over and she could feel herself drifting off to sleep any moment. In fact she did. She felt her shoulder being gently shaken.
"Huh?" she said in her half asleep haze.
"Y/N. You need to wake up." It was Connor's voice. She opened her eyes slowly and looked up at the android.
"Connor." She smiled. The smile quickly washed from her face. "What time is it?" she quickly turned to the clock on her desk. Her shift was over.
"I believe it is time you went home." Connor said with affection. Her eyes were drooping and her coffee had long since gone cold. Connor couldn't help but feel a small twang of jealousy. It was his job to get Y/N her coffee. Not JJ.
"Shit Y/N!" Hank said sitting down at his desk. "You look like crap."
"I'm just tired." Y/N defended herself. "trying to get myself on my new shift schedule. I cant wait to come back to you guys." She admitted.
"Only 9 more days." Connor said with a smile. Y/N tried to smile back but she was too tired. "Y/N. I can not allow you to drive home in this state. You are far to tired." Y/N patted his hand.
"I'll get a taxi. You can drive the car home right?" she asked.
"Right." He agreed.
"If you like." A voice came from behind them. "I can drive you home Y/N. save you paying the money for a taxi. I heard the price went up a few bucks recently."
"Oh no, it's fine honestly." Y/N said practically falling asleep again and using Connor's leg as a pillow.
"No. I insist. After what you have done for me the past few days. It would be my pleasure. I even got you a new coffee since your old one got cold." He said with a smile. It wasn't until then Connor saw JJ was holding two drinks. One of them said JJ and the other said Y/N. JJ must have learnt her order by now.
Y/N stood up. She gave Connor a quick kiss on the cheek.
"I'll see you at home." She said. She almost tripped on a desk on her way out. JJ caught her and held onto her arm as they both laughed at how tired she really was. Connor couldn't help but glare at them as they walked out.
"Its not a good look on you Connor." Hank said. The android turned his attention to the lieutenant. "What look?" Connor looked down at his jacket and wondered if he had spilt something on himself.
"Jealously. Another one of those pesky human emotions you inherited."
"Jealousy. The feeling of worry someone is trying to take away an aspect of your life."
"Exactly." Hank said pointing a finger at Connor.
"What would I be jealous of?" Connor asked.
"Jayden. Joshua. Jell-o I don't care what his name is."
"I feel no jealously towards Officer Jordan." Connor stated.
"Oh yeah." Hank sat forward with a devilish grin. "You may need to remind your face that because its written all over that plastic kisser of yours."
For the rest of the day Connor couldn't stop thinking about what Hank said. Jealousy. It wasn't a new emotion he felt. He had felt it once before when they met Kamski. But this was the first time he felt it so strong. So by the time he got home he could barely think. He parked the car outside of the house and walked in. He kicked off his shoes and walked further in. His socks mixed with his gentle step almost made him too quiet to hear.
"Connor?" Y/N shouted. "Is that you?" she walked into the living room where Connor was currently stood. "I'm so glad you are here. I was worried I wasn't going to see you before I had to leave." Connor sighed. He hated the new shifts. He hated them. He had convinced himself they were necessary, and the two weeks would be fine. But they had been the longest two weeks of his life.
"Earth to Connor?" Y/N laughed waving her hand in front of his face. Connor blinked a few times and noticed that Y/N was closer.
"I hope you enjoy your day at work." Connor said before walking towards the kitchen. Silly move. He had no reason to be in the kitchen. He didn't eat nor was he getting something for Y/N. Confused Y/N followed him.
"Are you okay Connor?" she asked. His general demeanor was off.
"I'm okay. Just making you some coffee... Unless you want Officer Jordan to make you some." He wasn't facing her. He felt like he couldn't. he wasn't sure why he said those words. Maybe he had thought about them so much he couldn't help but say them out loud.
"Connor are you jealous?" Y/N teased not understanding how Connor truly felt.
"No." he quickly defended. As Y/N walked closer he turned his body more so she couldn't see his face. If Hank was right she would know immediately how he felt.
"Connor. Are you okay?" she put her hand on his shoulder. He quickly turned around and Y/N could have sworn for the briefest of moments she saw a tear.
"No Y/N I'm not. Yes I'm jealous. I'm rather new at this emotion and I don't like it." he was angry, but not mad. "I don't like Officer Jordan."
"Connor. You don't need to be jealous." Y/N said soothingly, not quite sure what to say, "Plus, you make much better coffee than he does." She tried to joke to lighten the mood.
"Its more than just the Coffee Y/N." Connor said. "Its everything. You spend most of your time with him and I never see you. Since we met him I have seen you approximately 7 hours, 3 minutes and 58 seconds."
"Connor!" Y/N scolded. "I don't like this situation either. I have to follow the captains orders. Also! You aren't my dad. You don't need to remind me who I spend all of my time with."
"You don't understand Y/N." Connor said. He was getting so mad. Not at Y/N but at the world. At who he was and who she was. Connor clenched for a moment then sighed. "He's everything I'm not." He said defeated.
"What do you mean?" she took a step forward.
"He's human and I'm not. He is a much better match then I am. He is a member of your own species. You can grow old with him. You can fall asleep together, you can have children. I know you want them and I also know I cant give you them but he can." Connor made eye contact with Y/N and saw she was crying. She closed the gap between them and held him close.
"Don't think like that. Don't think like that for one second." She said slightly muffled into his jacket. "I don't care if he can do those things, do you want to know why? He's not you! I love you, not him. He will never be you. I wouldn't trade you for anything in the world Connor." Connor didn't say anything. Y/N reached into her pocket and lifted her phone out. She swiftly turned her phone off and placed it on the counter.
"What are you doing?" Connor asked.
"I'm not going to work. I'm not answering my phone. I'm not doing anything unless it involves you."
"but the captain."
"The captain can go screw himself." Y/N said. She kissed him. her salty tears getting mixed in the kiss. Neither of them cared. Connor was so happy to have Y/N in his arms again. Due to the limited amount of time they had spent together they hadn't had much time to hold hands, never mind kiss. That thought made him angry again. He clenched his teeth for a moment.
"Ow!" Y/N shouted pulling back. She pressed her hand to her mouth and pulled it back again to check for blood. "Did you just bite me?" she asked.
"I'm so sorry!" Connor apologised. He promised he would never hurt Y/N in anger. She did something unexpected. She pulled him in for another kiss with a lot more passion. Connor was caught off guard. It seemed Y/N liked him biting her. He did it again but with slightly less force. Y/N gave out a small moan. Connor liked that. He pushed her against one of the counters where she happily jumped up so he could get closer. They didn't think about anyone else but the two of them. They didn't worry that Y/N missed her shift and that Connor even missed his own. Right now it didn't matter. Connor was going to show Y/N how jealous he had been. Y/N disagreed with something Hank had said earlier. Hank said jealously was a good look on Connor. Y/N disagreed. Right now, to her, Connor had never looked so hot.
AN: That's all you're getting right now you thirsty thots. Its currently midnight here and I don't want to be writing steamy jealousy sex. So... just vimagine something steamy and they probably did it.
