yugyeom was currently sitting in the back seat of chris's car, squeezed up next to felix. chris and bambam were in the front, too involved in talking to each other to pay attention to the other two.
felix had been clinging onto yugyeom the entire drive, blushing every single time yugyeom would glance at him or ask him something. yugyeom had to admit he was cute, but not his type. plus, he couldn't get his mind off of jinyoung no matter how hard he tried.
he hadn't heard anything from the other since their fight. he thought bambam had messaged him but he said he hadn't.
yugyeom could see the restaurant nearing. it was a really fancy and expensive one. apparently, chris's parents were rich and he was using the credit card they had given him to pay for the whole thing.
they got out of the car, smoothing down their suits and walking into the restaurant. felix stayed glued to yugyeom's side, bouncing up and down excitedly as they walked.
they were sat at their table now. chris looked at bambam with mischievous grin.
"isn't this great?", he said. they all turned to look at him. he smiled his cheesy, dimple-filled smile. "my best friend and bambam's best friend, hitting it off so quickly."
felix blushed and ducked his head. "shut up", he mumbled, a shy smile on his lips. yugyeom forced a smile and nodded his head.
"shouldn't our server be here by now?", yugyeom asked, trying to change the topic. bambam nodded his head and craned his neck to look behind yugyeom toward the kitchen. he narrowed his eyes, searching for a bit, and then suddenly his eyes widened and he ducked his head down slightly. yugyeom raised an eyebrow. "what is it?"
"shit, shit", bambam murmured. yugyeom started to turn around to look but bambam shook his head wildly. "no, don't! just-just act normal. don't look behind you."
"why?", felix asked. he looked behind him and frowned, only confused. bambam shook his head and buried his face in his hands.
chris craned his neck like bambam had, looking behind yugyeom and felix, a knowing look spreading across his features. "ahh", he whispered in realization. yugyeom was trying not to look behind him, but it was very hard.
"what is it?", he asked again, more desperate this time. chris glanced at bambam's dramatic state and rolled his eyes.
"well, it looks like he's serving our table, so you'll know in a couple seconds."
"good evening and welcome to La Rosé, here are your-"
yugyeom stared up at their server with wide eyes. the man had finally looked up from his notepad and realized who was sitting at the table, his eyes also wide.
jinyoung.
yugyeom couldn't believe it. of all places they had decided to go on this stupid double date, it had to be the restaurant jinyoung worked at. they also just had to end up on his shift, and at his table.
"hi jinyoung!", chris greeted with a wide smile, completely oblivious. bambam groaned in his hands.
jinyoung glanced over at him, his eyes quickly narrowing. "hello", he replied, his voice tight and with a forced smile. yugyeom stared at the table, embarrassment consuming his whole being.
"wait, who is this?", felix asked, still lost. chris laughed.
"this is jinyoung. he's in the groupchat that i met yugyeom in."
"oh", felix hummed. then, he smiled, the skin in the corners of his eyes crinkling cutely. "nice to meet you! i'm felix."
"yes", jinyoung replied stiffly. he glanced at his notepad for a second and then set the menus on the table a bit harshly than he should have. "i'll be back in a little bit to take your orders."
chris and felix stared after jinyoung as he walked away, confused expressions on their faces. "what's up with him?", felix asked jokingly, trying to lighten the mood. bambam just shook his head, face still buried in his hands.
yugyeom glared across the table at bambam and stood up suddenly, grabbing the other boy's arm. "excuse me, i need to go to the bathroom. bambam, come with me."
he pulled the smaller out of his seat without waiting to see chris or felix's reactions. they twisted past tables before getting to the bathroom, yugyeom shoving bambam inside once they got there.
"i'm so sorry, yugyeom-", bambam started but yugyeom quickly cut him off.
"seriously bambam? what the fuck?", yugyeom spat, his anger spilling over in waves. bambam deflated against the wall, shame on his features. "now jinyoung thinks that i don't like him and i just went off with another guy days after the whole thing! i told you this date was a bad idea, and you didn't listen to me, and now all this bullshit has happened!"
"i'm sorry, yugyeom!", bambam exploded back. "what do you want me to do about it?"
"whatever", yugyeom growled, moving away from bambam and pacing the tile floor with his arms crossed over his chest. bambam watched him from the wall.
"listen, let's just go out there and finish this date and you can text jinyoung when we get home and explain the entire thing", bambam suggested. yugyeom stopped his pacing, glaring darkly at the floor.
"fine", he muttered. bambam stepped away from the wall, still staring at yugyeom with a guilty expression.
"i'm really sorry", he said. yugyeom didn't reply, simply walking out of the bathroom and heading back to their table.
