From the hideout to Suna, it took three days. The whole time, Toshiko refused to let Aiko down.
"I want to spend as much time with you as possible. I mean, I won't see you for a year. I'm gonna miss you."
Aiko just nodded. She was gonna miss him too. She didn't want to leave the one person who has been there almost her entire life leaving her. She's just glad that he isn't gone from her life forever.
They got to Suna in a matter of two days of jumping through the trees. Even when they got to the gates of Suna, Toshiko wouldn't let Aiko down. Held her as they were escorted to the Kazekage's office. When they got there their escort knocked on the door. He heard a gruff 'come in' before opening the door and letting Toshiko walk in with Aiko in his arms.
The kazekage looked up from his paperwork at the new people in his office.
His gaze stopped on little Aiko, who was clutching Toshiko for dear life. She had been surrounded by men for three days. Sure, she'd been with Toshiko, but that didn't change the fact that everywhere she looked there were men.
She was trying not jump out of Toshiko's hold and bolt out of the room. She buried her face in his neck, trying to control her shaking. Toshiko noticed and tightened his hold on her and gently kissed her forehead, "It's okay Ko-ko, they are going to help. And I'll ask for a woman to escort you to the Hidden Leaf village."
Aiko nodded her head, still not removing her face from his neck.
Toshiko looked back at the Kazekage. He had been watching the interaction between the two, and he was intrigued about the little girl. She looked familiar to him.
"What's your name little girl?" The Kazekage asked her.
She clutched on tighter to Toshiko before cautiously looking at the Kazekage, "Aiko Kimura Uzumaki, sir."
Kazekage paused, "Kimura?" Aiko nodded.
"Well, it says here that the Kimura clan was killed by the people of the village near them because they were scared of the prophecy," the Kazekage said while looking at a report that was on his desk.
Toshiko stiffened and tightened his hold on the child in his arms. He couldn't lose her.
The Kazekage noticed his tense posture, "What? Do you know who the prophecy is? Because all we know is that two of the members of the head house of the Kimura clan, weren't counted for. Aiko and Mamoru Kimura Uzumaki."
Aiko froze. She slowly turned her head to look at the Kazekage.
"Tell me, Toshiko-san," the Kazekage started, "Aiko is the child spoke of in the Kimura clan prophecy, isn't she?"
Toshiko gulped, but nodded none the less.
The Kazekage nodded thoughtfully, "I will need to send a scroll with this information prior to her departure. Then we will need to wait for word back from the Hokage. You both my stay in my house. I have two sons and a daughter. Aiko won't be alone."
Toshiko looked down at Aiko to see if she was okay with this. She looked back up at him and nodded in compliance. Toshiko looked back up to the man behind the desk, "That's fine. Thank you very much for letting us stay with you and your family while this is sorted out." Toshiko bowed halfway, so he could convey his thanks, but not drop Aiko.
Aiko herself, bowed her head in thanks. Then another escort, a female this time, came in and said she will show them to the house and tell them what rooms would be theirs.
They all three walked out of the Kazekage's office. As they got out on the street, Aiko was looking around at all of the buildings and people that she saw.
"So, Toshiko-san, do you like it here in Suna so far?" Toshiko looked down at the woman, who was the one who spoke, and looked confused at the look she was giving him.
"Uh, yes. I do. And it was very nice of the Kazekage to give us a room in his home," Toshiko said politely, finally realizing what the look in the woman's eyes were.
Lust.
"Well, if you want, after you drop off that little angel, maybe we could hangout for a bit?" She looked up at him with mock-large eyes. Toshiko didn't know how to respond.
Aiko did though.
She didn't want her Shiko to be taken away from her. She grabbed tighter to him and pouted while looking up at him, "But Shiko, I wanted to look around the house with you."
Toshiko looked down at her and gave a soft smile, "Of course Ko-ko. But after that, you need to get some sleep. You didn't get much on the journey here," Toshiko said while giving her a worrisome look.
Aiko nodded, "Okay, but we still sleep in the same room right?"
Toshiko nodded back, "Of course. I wanna spend as much time with you before you leave as I can."
Aiko smiled and hugged him. He hugged back. Over his shoulder next to him, the woman stood in shock. Aiko gave her a smug look, "Mine!" she mouthed to her.
The woman stared at her in surprise. She was just beat out by a 12-year-old little girl. Toshiko looked back at her and gave an apologetic smile, "Sorry miss. Maybe some other time."
She flushed red and nodded.
After five more minutes of an awkward walk to their temporary home, they finally made it. The woman opened the door, and let them in. She then lead them down a few halls to get to a large guest room, and then left without another word.
Toshiko saw there was one large bed, door that lead to a closet, and a door that lead to the bathroom. One wall was just a large window. You could see other houses when you opened the curtains. Toshiko set Aiko down, and she immediately ran to the bed.
When she got close enough, she jumped and landed on her back. She giggled as she looked up at Toshiko, "It's so much softer than our last one."
Toshiko chuckled while nodding, "I bet it is. The last one felt like I slept on wooden planks." He walked over and flopped on his back onto the bed.
"D*mn, this is soft," Toshiko said as he turned his head to nuzzle against the pillows. Aiko sat straight up, "Hey! You're not allowed to curse! Remember!"
"Hey, Shiko?" A seven-year-old Aiko asked a twenty-three-year-old Toshiko. They were in their room, deciding to talk before bed.
"Yes, Aiko?" Toshiko asked as he made the bed.
"What does Sh*t mean? I heard you say it the other day, but what does it mean?" Aiko asked innocently as she fiddled with her blanket.
Toshiko froze. I didn't think she heard me! He thought to himself as he turned to look at Aiko with nervous eyes.
"Um, well, you see, it's a bad word to say stuff. You are not allowed to say that! Got it?" Toshiko asked frantically while looking quickly fixing the rest of the bed.
Aiko looked thoughtful for a minute before grinning, "Okay Shiko!"
But then she stopped and looked at him, "You won't say it either, right?" She looked up at him with her big doe eyes. He sighed before nodding.
She clapped her hands, "Yay!"
Toshiko sighed, "Yeah, I remember. I surprised you do though. You were, like, seven."
Aiko shrugged, "It wasn't that long ago. Only five years."
Toshiko snorted, "Yeah, only."
Aiko giggled. She missed being able to do this these past few days. She had been to busy being scared to think right on the journey here. She yawned. Hadn't gotten much sleep either.
Toshiko noticed her yawn. "And that's a sign that a nap is a good idea. Come on! I'll get your pajamas."
Toshiko got up and went over to a set of bags that were there when they entered the room. He bent over to get her usual shorts and one of his shirts, then walked over to where she had gotten the bed ready.
"I'll go and change in the bathroom while you change out here, okay?" Toshiko asked her after handing her her pjs and then going to grab his.
She nodded and as soon as she heard the door to the bathroom close, she started to get ready, it didn't take long, and after she was done, she put her clothes away and got in bed. She sat against the headboard, waiting for Toshiko to get out of the bathroom.
A few seconds later, he came out with his dirty clothes in hand. He stopped by his bag, dropped them all, and them climbed into bed net to her.
Aiko scooted closer and cuddled closer to him. He wrapped his arms around her small frame and gave her brotherly kiss to her forehead, "Goodnight, Ko-ko."
"Night, night Shiko. I love you," Aiko mumbled before falling asleep.
