"I can't believe she actually did that." I said aloud purposefully to Reeva and the Frost sisters. I was still seething in anger with what Rebecca did.

"We will deal with it." Reeva spoke in a deadly tone.

I shook my head disapprovingly at the events that had unfolded. I could not get the mental image of the blood on the doors out of my mind. I was not even sure if I want to be with her in the same building.

I started panicking at the thought of Andy. If she is that erratic, will he come to any harm? No, Rebecca genuinely likes Andy but she could also be manipulating his feelings. I clenched my fists in frustration.

I knew Andy liked her back and I was not sure if his feelings would cloud his judgement. Would he come to his senses after what happen? I wasn't so sure....

Reeva decided to drop me off at headquarters first before going off with Phoebe and Sophie. This came after the shocking news that Rebecca ran off during the get-away.

I was unsure where I should go until I saw the news of the bank heist on television in the main hall. It was a riot out there. There were reports of mutant facilities being attacked. My jaw dropped in horror at the news footage.

I immediately went to where Sage was, and found that Esme and Andy were there. I briefly made eye contact with Andy but he made no move to talk. I joined in the buzz as Sage started relaying the current situation.

Sage explained that Reeva was determined to find Rebecca and would not stop till she is found. Esme, worried for their safety due to the uprising in mutant attacks, said that she would send Fade and Bulk out for reinforcement. I could see Andy fidget nervously, his mind must be fixated on Rebecca.

"What happens when they find her?" Andy turned to ask Esme before she left the room.

"That's up to Reeva." Esme answered after a short pause. I could sense something bad foreboding. I turned to look at Andy who had a hardened expression on his face. I did not know what to do with him. He clearly cares for Rebecca still. What can I do?

I made the first move to leave the room. The events from today was too overwhelming, I needed to get a breather and some rest. I decided to make my way to my room and started loosening my tie.

After taking a brief shower and changing out to more comfortable clothes, the growl from my stomach caught my attention. I realized it was well over lunch time but I had not thought about it due to the hectic situation earlier.

As I made my way to the request for a lunch order, my mind reeled back to Andy and wondered if he was alright with everything that was going on.

I asked for a double serving and made my way to his room which was only right across mine. As I made my way to the main hall, I overheard Lorna and Esme having an intense discussion.

From the last bit that I could hear, Lorna was worried for Dawn's safety given the revelation of Rebecca's true nature.

As I stepped into their view, Lorna walked off with an exasperated look on her face. My eyes went to Esme who was still in the room. She gave a small smile before walking off on her own.

Both of my hands were holding the tray of food, so I decided to call out to Andy as I stood right outside his door.

"Andy, it's me. Could you open the door?" As the door swung open, I could see Andy's eyes widened in surprise at the sight of me.

"I brought something to eat if you were hungry."

"Thanks. I lost track of the time and didn't realize." He opened the door wider for me to enter. I went over to his bed and placed the tray at the edge of the bed.

We settled into a comfortable spot on the bed and started to eat. It was awkward and silent. I half expected this to happen but I was still uncomfortable with it. There used to be no awkward tension but more comfortable silences between us.

As I was getting to the last bit of my curry rice, I put the plate down to look at Andy. He was looking down the whole time. I took a swig of water from my bottle and looked down as well, not knowing how to make the first move.

I clenched the bottle knot fists before looking up determinedly. I wasn't going to be a coward.

"How are you feeling?" I knew Andy heard me, he paused in his eating as he was taking in my question.

I continued to push further despite the lack of response.

"Are you still thinking about her?" I knew I was walking on egg shells with this question but I knew it was inevitable.

"What is it to you?" Andy responded in a murmur.

"Excuse me, I am concerned about you. The fact that you are still caring for her after what she did back there at the bank!" I snapped back at his response.

"Yes I am worried about her. Especially with whatever is going on right now, I don't know if she is safe out there."

"No thanks to her." I scoffed. "I'm sure you don't really have much to worry especially since she can take care of herself. Just like how she took care of those people at the bank." I was being an ass to him but I couldn't help it. I was just so consumed with jealousy and rage that he still cared for her.

"She was just angry and hurt. She did it in a moment of anger." He continued to stand up for her, I wasn't accepting any of it.

"No." I said with finality before continuing. "She wanted to do it. You forgotten how she actually smiled with no regrets after what she did." I tried reminding him.

"You don't know her like I do!" Andy burst out, the furniture in the room briefly shook for a moment. I was appalled at his reaction.

"Of course, I don't know her! Heck it's only been a few weeks since all of us known her at all!" I cried out, raising my hands in exasperation.

"Sometimes we hide the darkest part of our lives to paint a better image of ourselves, especially to those we want to love. But that's not how it should be." I threw back the harsh truth at Andy.

"We all have demons, Andy. But it should never justify heinous actions. Those people at the bank may be mutant haters but we should never harm those who are defenseless. She murdered over 30 people, Andy! In cold blood. No amount of anger and hurt could justify those actions." I tried to clarify his judgement.

Andy was at a loss of words at my outburst. He knew I was right but he couldn't admit it himself.

"I can talk through to her, if only I can find her." He spoke up after a long pause.

"You can't convince her. She thinks what she did was right. You cannot talk through to a murderer who thinks she's the hero." I retorted frustratingly at the fact that Andy refused to see the light.

"They say love always make you blind." I continued in a soft whimper. Andy looked up at me after that sentence.

"You really do like her, huh." I stated solemnly. It broke me to actually say it out loud.

"I care for her." He spoke and we exchanged eye contact for a moment. We did not know what to say to each other anymore. It was a never ending cycle.

"I have lost my best friend to her." I stated defeatedly. "In your eyes, she can do no wrong."

I cleared the plates and picked up the tray, making my way to the door. As I stood before the door, I turned my back to look at Andy once more. The silence in the room became increasingly heavy.

A tear involuntarily fell despite my hardest to reel back my emotions. I lost my best friend to the new girl. I didn't bothered to wait for any response from him, I just left before I had a full on breakdown.

With everything that was going on, I decided to put the matters of my own heart aside. I had to focus on the bigger picture, there was more at stake than myself.

I was increasingly getting frustrated with more news reports on mutant-specific attacks. Orphanages, children hospital and care facilities that help mutants are being targeted.

I ran my fingers through my head as I thought at the pandemonium unfolding outside of the building. I didn't want to stay in comfort while I know that people- my people are dying out there.

There was nothing I could do. During my discussion with Sage, we realized we could only wait from orders from Reeva. I was growing impatient, knowing my heart was not at ease.

Suddenly, a thought came to my mind- one that had been buried for awhile in the back of my mind. Since Reeva was out, maybe I could do this. It was a long shot but I wanted to find out more information on the whereabouts of my uncle, aunt and Tommy. I knew Reeva told me that they left the country but I wanted to confirm it for myself.

It took a lot of pleading on my end. Sage was not an easy one to convince, she was very pragmatic. She didn't see the value of going behind Reeva's back to 'snoop'. I told her I will bear the consequences and tried to persuade by saying it was just to identify their location. I also pinned hope on our close friendship after working together many times for training purposes.

I just wanted to know if they are safe, that's all.

My earnest pleading won Sage over, but she strictly stated that she was only going to find their location and that was it. Sage started to work her magic as she entered databases, many of which I could not decipher as they were all in codes.

My heart was accelerating at the possibility of finding my family. The few minutes felt like forever, and I started to worry as I thought of Reeva or the Frost sisters potentially finding out what I was even doing behind their backs.

"I got it. "

"It seems like....they are currently in Virginia." That's not out of the country....it was a different state. Why did Reeva lie the first time I was here?

"Where in Virginia exactly?" I pushed my luck further with Sage. She returned a doubtful eye before working on it.

"Here, this is the address." She pointed it out. I quickly memorized the address by heart. I thanked Sage before running back to my room to have it jotted down.

I am going to find them after all this mess. I could not stop thinking of why Reeva lied in the first place, as if she didn't want me to know. I didn't harp on that thought much longer when I knew I could have a chance to see my family again.

The very next day, I awakened to the news that Rebecca was caught and placed in captivity. I made my way over to the viewing area in the training room and saw that Andy was already there.

There were monitors of Rebecca screaming and crying. What caught my attention was the impenetrable looking cage located in the centre of the training room.

My eyes widened in horror at the very thought of what I knew was happening. Andy's expression hardened at the sight. I overheard the conversation between him and Sage.

Rebecca had to be in darkness and constant motion to prevent her from using her powers. It sounded absolutely tortuous and at that point, even I could not help but to spare sympathy for her.

Andy and I look at each other straight in the eyes. While we did not exchanged words, I tried to convey a look of concern before walking off. It felt like he wanted to tell me something as I saw his lips moving.

I felt like my heart would not be able to take whatever was going to spill out. Instead, I made a dash for the door and away from him instead.

Hiya! This chapter is kinda of a filler before the grand finale tomorrow! How was that fall finale y'all! I can't believe we have to wait for a month for the next episode! Argh....

Anyways, I'm sorry if the burn is slow between Andy and Ren. But it now shows that Ren really likes Andy but we aren't sure if he feels the same especially with Rebecca in the way now.

Since I watched the fall finale, I have an idea of  how I want it to go for the next chapter. After that, I will be taking a break from this story (till new episodes come out) and be working on my new Fantastic Beasts story. Check it out if you're a fan of the series!

Love,
Angsty-cat 💙🧡
