ELIJAH'S APARTMENT WAS FILLED WITH SILENCE, the only thing you can hear was the vague sound of his hand holding a pencil and writing lyrics before he momentarily stopped, lifting his head up to look at the man who fidgeted anxiously, making eye contact with him.
"So why are you here, Freddie?" Elijah swiftly asked, before proceeding to throw the paper he was clutching in his hand and taking another one.
He tried his best to ignore Freddie, he knew it was rude but what could you expect to be someone's reaction when the person that's been avoiding them for weeks without reason suddenly appear in front of his flat as if nothing had happened at all?
"I want to apologize, darling." Freddie replied
Elijah arched his eyebrow, and cooly responded, "What for, Freddie? You did nothing at all."
Freddie bit his lip, hiding the hurt he felt from how cold Elijah was reacting around him. He almost backed out from talking to him when Elijah slammed the door on his face the moment he appeared but he knew he couldn't blame the man. It was his fault for ignoring the man without telling him why anyway, but that's why he was here. To make things right again.
"I know you must have wondered why I've been avoiding you for weeks now, dear,"
Freddie started, ignoring the surprised look on Elijah's face and continued talking, "And I don't know if you can even forgive me for it, because hell, I don't bloody know why I even did, I can't ever excuse what I did because it was the worst I've probably done."
"But I hope things can go back to the way it used to. Because darling, I've missed you so fucking much and I can't spend one day without thinking about you." Freddie confessed with a pleading tone and subconsciously held Elijah's hand tightly against his.
"Is that what you want, Freddie? My forgiveness?" Elijah asked incredulously, although he couldn't hide the hopeful glint that shone in his eyes before shaking his head.
"Yes— I mean, no. What I want is for us to be what we were before all this drama, please, Elijah. I'm sorry, I would go down on my knees just for you to forgive me." Freddie begged.
"I want to be honest with you, love. I had worried myself sick over thinking why you suddenly steered clear from me without any warning," Elijah bluntly said and Freddie couldn't resist flinching, but he continued however, "And I was even starting to think that maybe you got bored of me, that I wasn't enough for you,"
The statement made Freddie react quickly, "No, darling! It wasn't that. I would never get tired of you, Elijah. Please, listen to me."
"I know that now." Elijah said, raising his hand to stop him from panicking even more.
"I don't know why and I don't know if I'll ever know why you stayed away from me in the first place. But I forgive you, Freddie. I could never hate you."
Because I'm fucking in love with you, can't you see? Freddie thought hearing the former sentence, but he perked up when he heard the latter, almost letting out a gasp.
He turned to look up to see Elijah smiling at him, a warm smile that he kept for his close family and friends and Freddie's heart beat rapidly, and without thinking rushed to hug Elijah firmly, one— to be able to feel his gentle arms enfolding around his and two— to hide the tears that nearly escaped his eyes before sniffling loudly.
"You forgive me, darling? We're okay now? I'm truly sorry, I promise to never ignore you again." Freddie's words were rushed as he spoke, his fingers trembling and Elijah merely placed his calloused hands on his, calming him down as he grinned.
"Of course. I know you must have had your reasons, love. And although it took me a while to accept that, Deaks helped and talked to me a few days ago."
Freddie blinked before looking up at him, "You're close with Deaky now?"
"Yeah I am. He's a really great friend, Freddie." Elijah answered.
"I'm glad you've become closer to my family now, Elijah. They really mean a lot to me, and you do too."
Elijah only held his hand in response.
"I have one condition though." Elijah suddenly mentioned and Freddie sat back before saying, "Anything, darling! Just tell me what it is and I'll do it."
"You have to come to see my performance on BBC tomorrow." Elijah cheekily said. Freddie laughed, "Absolutely, dear! I'd never miss it for the whole world."
Freddie suddenly remembered that John told him Elijah wrote a song for him but kept his mouth shut. He knew he wasn't supposed to know about it if it weren't for John accidentally spilling the beans, so he decided to have Elijah tell him if he wants to. He'll respect that at least.
"Okay. I'll expect to see you there, Freddie."
"Darling I wouldn't break my promise, I'd be there."
I'm sorry. Freddie thought regretfully. It wasn't about the matter if he can come to see him perform on BBC— because he definitely would; however, he wasn't ready to confess his real feelings towards the man. He was too scared to be rejected, and he didn't even know if the man likes him that way as well. So he kept a smile and removed the image from his head.
Unbeknownst to him, Elijah was thinking the same thing as well. But unlike Freddie, he was determined to declare his feelings. And he will.
Once I get that villain Paul Prenter away from him, I will tell him what I feel. That's what I promised Deaks after all.

"Freddie! Did you and Elijah have sex?" Roger suddenly said and Freddie turned his head to flash a middle finger towards him as Brian shushed him and John had an amused smile on his face.
"Shut up, Rog! We're in a studio with a bunch of fucking dickheads who'd do anything to get dirt on us and you'd really love to broadcast that in the world, huh?" Brian hissed, flailing his long limbs to point towards some of the crew in the studio that's been looking at them like some animals would do to their prey before eating them up.
John chuckled, causing the three to look towards him, "As much as I'd love to hear about that story as well, you do need to shut it, Roger. We can discuss that in private." He pointed out while Roger sulked, before gaining the attention of some girls who were watching them and giggling, causing him to wink in reply.
"You playboy you." Freddie muttered, "First of all, Rog, we didn't have sex. We talked like how normal human beings would. Second, speaking of Elijah, you do know he's up the stage readying, right?"
The second the sentence left Freddie's mouth, the three immediately turned their heads back to see Elijah fiddling with the guitar strap around his body and tapping the microphone. He was wearing a plain white polo, plaid pants and his long hair was brushed back but it made him look so gorgeous that Freddie couldn't help but stare.
Roger whistled loudly, catching the attention of said man and he squinted before apparently seeing them, waved his hand.
He grinned widely seeing Freddie standing amongst them in a leather jacket and flare jeans that seemed to glitter whenever the light hits them.
Freddie winked in response and blew a kiss.
"We love you, Elijah!" The sudden shout from John stunned the three and they looked at their 'quiet' bandmate with shock across their features.
"Never knew you had the ability to shout in you, Deaky." Roger teased before receiving a heavy and hard slap on the head from the male, "Oh blimey, shut up, Roger."
They looked back in confusion when Elijah took something from the back and hung it around his microphone, hearing whispers from the staff who looked at him oddly and when Freddie glanced, he realized what it was. A rainbow flag.
"What does that flag mean?" Roger whispered before Freddie leaned in and muttered, "It's a flag for the LGBTQ+ community."
Their squabbling was cut off when the sound of Elijah's voice echoed throughout the speakers, "Hi everyone. I'm extremely nervous to be here and I never even expected to have a record deal, considering I'm a proud bisexual, but it's an honor. I would love to dedicate this to the band Queen for helping me."
Brian clapped his hands loudly, and Roger whistled. John and Freddie grinned, "I'm Elijah Phoenix and I'll be performing 'Meet Me in the Hallway'."
"That's the song about Freddie right?" Brian whispered towards John who nodded and Freddie held a breath, both skittish and excited at the same time.
He was looking forward on what Elijah wrote for him, but he was nervous to hear if it's going to be a negative thing about him.
The sound of guitar and piano being played interrupted his thoughts and he finally watched Elijah, along with Brian, Roger and John as he opened his mouth and started singing.
"Meet me in the hallway
Meet me in the hallway
I just left your bedroom
Give me some morphine
Is there any more to do?
Just let me know I'll be at the door, at the door
Hoping you'll come around
Just let me know I'll be on the floor, on the floor
Maybe we'll work it out
I gotta get better, gotta get better
I gotta get better, gotta get better
I gotta get better, gotta get better
And maybe we'll work it out."
"That's a really nice song, you can obviously see it's about Freddie." Roger mentioned, seeing the awed look on Freddie's face. Brian nodded in agreement, obviously in fascination on how the music sounded so different from what he's used to hear but it clearly fit Elijah. John merely had a proud smile as he swung his head around; since he was able to hear the song already, he mouthed some of the words to himself.
The song finished and Freddie was speechless. The lyrics struck him to the heart and hope bloomed in him as he heard the sentence maybe we'll work it out and he might have been assuming but it distracted him. Is that a sign for me? He thought.
"I'll be singing Sign of the Times— my debut single."
And so Freddie fell even more, hearing Elijah's breathtaking voice that he can't seem to get out of his mind; and seeing the knowing looks from his bandmates (his family) he knew was not being subtle at all. And he didn't give an absolute fuck about it.

author's note!
sooo.. they finally reconciled ! This is such a shitty and rushed chapter I'm so sorry. I promise I'll try to be better!
I cried watching Queen videos and I realized how much I miss Freddie (can I trade my life so he can live instead I'm not joking) and I listened to a 17 year old Roger Taylor singing "I Feel Good." AND I'M IN LOVE.
