After their first day at Proxy Academy, Deenie and Bebe head for the front Entrance to leave.
"Hey!" Jack called from the top of the stairs. He ran down, fighting past the traffic of students going the opposite way, heading to their dorms.
"Eh? Wha...?" Bebe asked turning. "Oh hey EJ"
"Where ya guys going?" He asked.
"We have to go back to the overrealm" Deenie said.
"Can't you stay a little longer? Like an hour?"
"Well....think about it, one hour is like....2 at home....I think" Deenie said with more of a questionable tone.
"Ugh! I dunno...it's after school, I don't wanna do anymore math" Bebe shook her head.
"Please? We are having a party" Jack said.
"A party?" Both asked. "It's the first day of school"
"Yes well.....you're the first humans, errr....overrealm humans, to go to the school so...we want to welcome you" Jack scratched the back of his head that was exposed due to not wearing his normal hood.
"I guess we could stay but, we have to tell our parents, but our phones don't get service here" Deenie shrugged. "So what else can we do?"
"Perhaps I can be of assistance, child" Slender said from behind Bebe.
"Ah! Don't do that!?" She yelled.
"Sorry, habit of mine" Slender apologized.
"It's fine...." she said and went to Deenie.
"But I can pause time in the overrealm so that you can stay longer" Slender said, he was using Jack this time.
"How?" Deenie asked.
"Well when you opened the portal all of the people around you froze in time to the point weren't visible to you" Slender said. The two girls looked at each other.
"So that's why they weren't there...." Deenie looked at Slender, he nodded.
"Exactly child" Slender snapped his fingers. "If I open a portal. The overrealm will be temporarily frozen within time"
"Will it harm anything?" Bebe asked.
"No child, not at all"
"Okay then, sounds good to us" Bebe smiled. "Guess we can stay awhile"
"Sure, why not?" Deenie faced Eyeless Jack.
"So shall we get going? The cafeteria is down here" he walked off. Bebe followed. Deenie stood there.
"Go on, have fun, I'll take care of it" Slender said to Deenie telepathically.
"Okay sir, but later can I ask you a question?" Deenie said. Slender nodded and then Deenie followed after Bebe.
When Deenie reached the Cafeteria. She saw Bebe eating a slice of cake sitting with their newly made friends.
"Hey guys!" Deenie called out as she made her way over to the table.
"Oh hey" Liu said turning to face Deenie. Bebe waved, her mouth full of food to talk.
"Nice music" Deenie said as she sat down.
"Meh, I hate it" Jeff crossed his arms and sat back in his chair.
"It could use something to make it more interesting" Bebe said, taking a sip of her punch.
"Ok who wants to do some karaoke?" Jane said, sitting down with a plate of sugar filled sweets.
"That's stupid"
"Well then, what's your idea Jeff?" Jane asked.
"We go kill bitches" Jeff said, raising his knife.
"Karaoke sounds fun" Deenie smiled. "Don't you think Bebe?"
"I'm not so sure if that is my definition of fun" Bebe said, eating a cookie.
"Aw come on, please?"
"No"
"Please??"
"Bitch, no"
"Pleeeeez!!"
"God you're persistent, fine" Bebe sighed and took another sip of her punch before getting up from the table. Deenie smiled and rose up from the table too.
"The stage is that way" Jane pointed.
"So it's a cafeteria and a auditorium? Cool" Bebe stated as she walked to the stage.
"So, what song should we sing?" Deenie asked walking up the steps.
"I don't know, have you heard Gary Jules Mad World?"
"Yeah I like that song, I know it by heart"
"Then let's sing that" Bebe said as she stopped mid stage.
"Sounds good to me" Deenie did to.
"Uh, Deenie you start it then"
"If I must..." Deenie cleared her throat.
"....All around me are familiar faces
Worn out places, worn out faces
Bright and early for their daily races
Going nowhere, going nowhere..."
"Their tears are filling up their glasses
No expression, no expression
Hide my head, I want to drown my sorrow
No tomorrow, no tomorrow..."
"And I find it kinda funny..." Deenie sang.
"I find it kinda sad" Bebe sang back.
"The dreams in which I'm dying"
"are the best I've ever had..."
"I find it hard to tell you"
"I find it hard to take..."
Both girls sang together. "When people run in circles it's a very....very....mad world....mad world" Deenie smiled. "Children waiting for the day they feel good, happy birthday....happy birthday... and I feel the way that every child should, sit listen....sit and listen...."
"Went to school and I was very nervous, no one knew me....no one knew me....hello teacher tell me what's my lesson, look right through me....look right through me...."
"And I find it kinda funny"
"I find it kinda sad"
"The dreams in which I'm dying"
"Are the best I ever had"
"I find it hard to tell you"
"I find it hard to take"
"When people run in circles it's a very, very....mad world....mad world....enlarging your world....mad world..." both girls finished and looked at each other. Deenie smiled. Bebe shrugged.
"Wow" Jack said, removing his mask.
"Yeah" Jeff clapped. Then the entire cafetorium was filled with the sounds of people clapping.
"Were we really that good, Deenie?" Bebe asked.
"Apparently..." Deenie waved. Bebe got off the stage and walked off to the food table. Deenie jumped off and headed to Jane.
"You two were great!" Jane said happily.
"Thanks, glad people liked it" Deenie scratched the back of her head. Liu walked up to Jeff.
"Very nice voices, right Jeff?" Liu said.
"Right" Jeff answered. Toby came running to Bebe, both holding a plate of goods.
"It was amazing!!??" Toby yelled.
"It was, wasn't it?" An unfamiliar voice said from behind Deenie.
"Ah!?" Deenie clunged to Liu out of fear. "Don't do that!"
"Sorry"
"Clocky!" Toby called out hugging the girl and dumping his plate on the floor.
"Heh...hey Toby" Clockwork said.
"Hmm?" Bebe looked at Jeff and noticed that he seemed mad. "Jeff?"
"What do you want?"
"You okay?"
"I'm fucking fine" he walked off grumbling to himself.
"Ok? Weirdo" Bebe sat down.
"Ah....sorry Liu, I got a little scared there" Deenie let go.
"It's alright, no harm done" despite the scarf he still wore, Liu's smile was visible.
"Oh hey Jack why don't you have your Mask on?" Bebe askes, nudging him.
"It's hard to drink with it on" Jack said back, taking a sip of his soda.
"True true....makes sense"
"Bebe! Come on we have to go home!" Deenie called from the other side of the room.
"Aw, can't we stay longer?"
"No! I'd like to yeah but we have to go back home, can't we come back tomorrow?"
"Tomorrow is saturday, duh" Bebe said with a deadpan look.
"Well you two, as long as you have the symbols, you can open a portal anywhere" Slender and Masky said, behind Bebe.
"AH FUCK!?" Bebe screamed and jumped into EJ's arms. "Stop doing that man!"
"Ah...bad habit, I must stop that..." Slender said lightly hitting himself in the head.
"Wait so we can open the portals anywhere?" Deenie restated.
"Yes child"
"But won't that send us to a different part of the underrealm?" Deenie asked.
"Well yes, that's the only flaw to it"
"So what are we to do if we come back but get lost?" Bebe asked as she let go of the Eyeless man she clung to for protection.
"That's a good question"
"Master" Masky said. "What about their ties?"
"What about ties?" Both Bebe and Deenie asked.
"You see" Slender started. "Those ties you wear, that all the students wear, have Pagers in them in case you need me, this is a school for killers, so attitudes and actions are quite.....unpredictable..."
"....and you're not?" Deenie said sarcastically.
Even with no face it was clear that Slender grew irritated. "MY POINT STILL STANDS!" He sighed. "If you two happen to come tomorrow and find yourself lost, hit the pager, I'll find you and bring you here"
"We'll still be in uniform? But it's the weekend!?"
"If you leave the underrealm in uniform, you come back in uniform, if you leave in normal clothes, you come in normal clothes" Masky said.
"Well, how do we get normal clothes? We don't have any here, and if that's the case, how did we come here in uniforms today?" Bebe asked.
"So many questions child, you're giving me a migraine" Slender said as he put his hand on his head.
"Me!? You're the one that makes no sense-" Bebe was cut off by Jane's hand.
"I'll take you two shopping in town tomorrow, ok"
"Ok Jane" Deenie nodded. Bebe rolled her eyes and Jane removed her hand from Bebe's mouth.
"Fineee...." Bebe said as she fixed her glasses and turning. "Let's go home I guess....wait....hey! Slender how are we not getting in trouble? With our old school I mean..."
"That's simple, I set it up so that your old school thinks you two transferred to another school"
"Like the group of kids that we always saw getting on different buses and leaving before we get off ours?" Deenie said.
"Exactly my child"
"So then Slender, what about our parents? Won't they be suspicious?" Bebe asked.
"No child, because they have no idea, and I wish to keep it that way"
"Point taken" both girls say as they looked at each other and shrugged.
"Now you two better get going" Slender patted them on their heads and both walked to a wall.
"Ready?" Deenie asked, turning to Bebe.
"Aye sir!"
They placed their hands on the wall and walked right through back to their realm.
