Oddly enough, we were passing over New Berk when I came up with a plan. We had three Deathgrippers following us, one was attatched to my back attempting to stab Toothless with its tail.

"We have to do this together." Toothless knew what I meant.

I slowly raised my body temperature, just as Toothless began doing his lightning thing. Living up to his creation title. It was a powerful blast that knocked all three Deathgrippers out of the air with ease. I felt a bit light headed from the power I put into the blast, but I gripped the saddle tightly, diving into the clouds above Grimmel.

"Alright bud, we can do this." I put a hand on his head, smiling down at him when he twists to look at me.

We dive, spinning in the air to fly at Grimmel. The lucky moment of having passed over Grimmel and caught him by surprise. I leap off of Toothless' back and extend my wings, dodging the dart he fires, then wincing when I hear Toothless wine as the dart hits him.

I crash into Grimmel, not caring about where he ends up. Instead I rip the harness off of Kaida, my arms shaking while I hold onto her back.

"Save him." I let go.

Grimmel and I fell in some form of twisted dance. His hands tore my wings, keeping me from flying away. His hand smacked into my face, drawing blood. But I didn't care, we were falling.

Falling.

Then Kaida was there. She grabbed me, which in turn meant she grabbed Grimmel. We were thrown onto the cliff side, injured, but overall okay. Grimmel was the first to his feet, he drew a sword and whistled loudly. I knew that meant. I pushed myself to my feet, shouting for Kaida to go. Toothless was her concern now.

"This is the endgame my boy. A downed dragon," He lifts his sword, "Is a dead dragon."

He swings his sword at me, I intercept it with my staff. A shout leaves my lips when his elbow connects with my rib cage. I can see the Deathgrippers in the distance, flying at top speed to Grimmel's aid. I shout in anger, swinging my staff and making contact with Grimmel's legs. He falls onto his back and I move to strike again but a Deathgripper knocks me away.

I smash into a stone on the other side, Grimmel crawls to his feet.

"You are nothing without your dragon." That pushed me over the edge.

I dug my hands into the ground, I could feel the fire inside me. Stirring to outside of me. I slowly moved to my feet, my body became an inferno. Grimmel looks at me with fear in his eyes.

"It's not possible." He backs away and the Deathgrippers stand in front of him. Slowly they approach me, growling as they come. I'd had enough of these dragons, and their insistence to deny me.

The sound that left my mouth was not human, it was a roar just as powerful as a dragons. I let the Alpha inside take control, and the Deathgrippers obeyed. Bowing to me and turning on their controller.

"You're the Alpha." His voice was full of disbelief. The Deathgrippers stalked closer, and I turned away. I no longer held them, letting their anger bring about what happened next.

I brought myself to the cliff side, letting the fire that became me die down. Astrid was waiting for me, a victorious smile on her face. The rest of Berk came forward with shouts of joy and victory, Toothless was by my side in an instant. He knocked me to the ground, drenching me in his saliva in his excitement. When I was able to sit up, Kaida was there nuzzling me in thanks.

Astrid helped me to my feet, smiling brightly at me and pulling me in for a kiss. When we broke free from it, Toothless and Kaida were engaging in a mating dance, and odd but wonderful thing.

"You did it!" My mother shouted, pulling me into a hug. She kisses my forehead, a smile on her face when she pulls away. "Your father would be so proud of you."

I smiled at her words, turning back to Toothless and Kaida. I discovered something that I hadn't told the rest of Berk, and it was time to finally tell them. I looked towards Berk, and lifted my staff into the air, when it came back down to hit the ground the sound echoed. Silencing the Berkians cheers.

"Grimmel is defeated!" This brought another chorus of cheers. "But there is something you need to know."

Confusion flits across my mothers face, but Astrid smiles sadly. She does always seem to be correct.

"There is no Hidden World." Gasps pass through the crowd at my words. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you, but I didn't know how. We came all this way for nothing, and I'm sorry. But it isn't our time yet."

Astrid nods to me, before making her way to Stormfly. She unties her saddle letting it fall to the ground. She looks to the crowd, a tear rolls down her face as she speaks.

"The world is not ready for the dragon riders, it's not safe for us yet." The people of Berk seem to realize what she is saying and start to follow her lead.

I turn to Toothless, I reach forward to undo his saddle, but a hand on my arm stops me. I turn to find Astrid with tears falling from her eyes. She smiles through a sob.

"He can't fly without you." She pulls my hand away from his saddle. "You have to go with him."

My heart breaks, but I can hear the truth in her words. I know that I need to, but I can't leave her. I can't leave Berk. My mother joins the two of us.

"You're the Alpha, you have to go." She hugs to two of us as she speaks. "But I won't love you any less because you aren't here."

My mother pulls back, kissing my forehead and backing away. Giving Astrid and me a moment alone. I kiss Astrid with all the passion in me, fueling it with every ounce of my love. I don't know when I'll see her next, but I will never stop loving her while I am gone. I climb onto Toothless' back, looking at Berk with sad eyes.

"I can't stay. I can't stay when not all of my people are safe. I will return. I promise." Gobber nods to me. My team realizes what I am doing and a few begin to cry. I speak to Astrid next. "I will be back, I love you with all my heart."

"And I you."

I lead the dragons from Berk. Tears falling from my eyes as I do. But this is something that has to be done.

With love, come's loss.
