CHAPTER 4: SURPRISE!
Henry glances at the dragon with a critical gaze. "I don't know you."
The Overseer grins. However before she could open her mouth to speak, A sudden alarm is set off.
The demon Lord frowns. "What's happening?" He sounded composed, indifferent.
A sudden servant races into the room. "Reporting to my Lord, the humans have launched a secret attack our east wall. What should we do?"
The air in the room suddenly got stuffy.
It was thick and heavy, almost like musk.
The demon Lord stands up, his oppresisve power spreading throughout the room. "Kill them. And capture some alive. I'll personally interrogate them myself."
The servant nods and hurries to carry out his orders.
Henry looked uneasy. "Something's not right. Why would the humans attack us? So suddenly, with limited manpower? On our territory?"
The demon Lord shrugs, walking towards the door. "I don't know. But let's go find out."
Everyone in the room goes to follow him.
Edward turns back to give the little dragon a strange look. "Follow after us." He pats her head and takes his leave.
The Overseer nods, hurrying to keep up with everyone else.
As soon as they were outside again, the whole ground trembled!
The skies were stormy!
It was as if an explosion had been set off.
Smoke was everywhere, rubble could be seen littering the place.
The smell of blood was strong, as was the shouts of men.
When the dust had finally settled, everyone was starting at one thing.
A large gaping hole had been made in the perimeter of the wall.
Humans dressed in red were charging through, roaring at the top of their lungs, stabbing at demons.
The demon Lord suddenly speaks. "Duck."
The Overseer doesn't react, merely looking up at the dark sky. Only to see sudden little balls of light.
She felt an arm wrap around her waist as she was suddenly pulled behind cover.
*bang**bang**bang*
The flaming arrows hit everything in sight.
The Overseer was shocked silly.
She suddenly felt a breath in her ear. "Little dragon, you should listen more. Go inside, and let the grown ups deal with this, okay?"
Isabel looks at the blue haired demon's sardonic smirk as he adjusts his gloves.
She watched as he turns his back on her and suddenly joins the fray.
The demon Lord merely watches everyone fight. From behind the front lines.
The blue haired demon begins to chant something, and a blue hex ruin appears in front of him. Suddenly another one appears above the human army, sending them down on the ground.
They were flat like pancakes.
It was gravity magic.
Still he was only holding back a small portion of the army, as more continued to enter through the hole.
The Overseer calmly walks out from her spot behind the brick wall, and looks on in awe, as the ml fights the guards with Rose.
His movements were strong and fluid. His eyes, burning with hatred. His bloodlust made her excited.
Rose was just as elegant behind him. Her brown hair whipping everywhere, as she attacks with her rapier while continuously healing Henry.
Henry was able to attack with no regard for defense. They were a slaughtering machine.
The sounds of metal,
The sounds of agony,
The smell of blood,
The energy, the buzz,
All of it was making the Overseer beyond excited.
She couldn't help it.
She wanted to join too!
With shinning violet eyes, she jumps into battle.
There was no need to use her real Overseer powers. Her dragon body was good enough. With hard skin, and fast but deadly movements, she was killing indiscriminately.
The blood dyed her white dress, soaking the ground at her feet.
This chaos...
It was liberating.
She was grinning from ear to ear.
Ever since she found out about stuff like the human heart, and world's core, she was careful with her actions.
Not acting as she would like.
However now, she was killing people purely for enjoyment. Not because she was upset or mad, or because she was disappointed or needed to prove something.
This was her unruly side. Her unrestrained, unabashed side.
Her innocent smiling face, was a grim sight to see under all of the bloodshed.
The smiling prepubescent girl was a morbid sight for the soldiers.
It was demoralizing.
She was a monster.
Suddenly a voice cuts through the tensed air. "Watch out!!"
The Overseer's eyes widen for but a moment as sudden explosions erupt all around her.
This...
It was a trap!
Her ears ring, her eyes blinded. Her cries erupt from her throat as she falls to the floor in pain.
Withering like a worm.
She felt someone grab her, hugging her close.
As sound slowly returns to her ears, she could hear the calming voice soothe her. "Ssssssh ssh sssh ssh, I got you. I got you. You're safe."
The Overseer stops struggling, and carefully squints her eyes open.
In front of her was a face she didn't recognise.
Red eyes, as bright as fire.
Hair as dark as midnight.
And finally wings, large feathery wings, those of a fallen angel.
This man, was beautiful.
The Overseer was stunned for but a mere moment, before regaining her senses.
She looks around. All of the humans were dead. All except for the small crowd Edward had suppressed.
The dead bodies of the humans were strapped with bombs.
They were all ready to take their own lives, in this suicide attack.
The demon Lord frowns as he hurries to instruct his men to remove the bombs on the restrained soldiers.
The Overseer who was dazed, slowly looks back at the beautiful fallen angel.
His features were delicate, almost feminine, and yet his masculinity lays in his body. His jawline, neck, and shoulders made it obvious what gender he was.
The man looks at her with his fiery eyes. He was stoic, no emotion could be seen on his face. "Little dragon, be more careful." His voice was husky, seductive. And yet emotionless.
The Overseer suddenly had an urge to kill him. She had thought for just a second, she had seen amusement in his eyes.
However now, looking at him, she knew it was merely a figment of her imagination.
Thankfully...
She doesn't know how she'll kill the entity yet.
So she wasn't ready to meet him.
I've been having writer's block recently.
I wasn't sure where I was going to take this, cause I know what this arc must end with.
However recently inspiration has hit me, and it made me realise that sometimes taking a small break is good.
I didn't think it would help at all, but I was wrong.
Don't worry, you guys wouldn't have felt my break. Cause I have stacks of chapters written up in advance.
