[ I am ending this story]
Time had passed since Rhaella renounced her claim as Queen in the North. Only those apart of the council knew this, and that she had declared Sansa Stark her successor. Many who did not, clung to the hope that Jon Snow would come to his senses and come back to aid those he carelessly abandoned.
In the South, however, Jon had found himself in a situation that prevented him from doing just that. He had spared the North, however, but it came at a price.
And when the North learned of Jon Snow's fate, they marched south, enraged and led by the Starks of Winterfell. They were well recovered now, and there had been many ready to fight once again.
But no fighting would come of it. Sansa and Rhaella had a plan. King's Landing was without a ruler. In fact, all of Westeros was, but not for long.
They sat together, the Lords and Ladies of the seven kingdoms, discussing both Tyrion Lannister and Jon Snow. The North demanded Jon Snow be freed. Many, those who supported Daenerys, disagreed.
"Jon is no different than any other who's slayed a king or queen at one point." Rhaella defended. "She burned thousands."
"She did what she had to."
"She did not have to incinerate innocents because they refused to accept her as queen." Rhaella turned in her chair. "You do not kill innocent subjects just because they refuse to accept you. What kind of ruler says "choose me or die"?" She enquired. "Do you know what kind? A tyrant. That's what kind. She was no different than her father. And all of Westeros turned on him and his family."
Blood began to boil as those who defended Jon argued with those who defended Daenerys. It had been because of Tyrion the shouting ceased.
"Look at you all," he said. "Bickering over the past."
"You do not talk!" Ordered the unsullied standing beside him. Rhaella recognised him as the one who stayed close by Daenerys side and lead the unsullied. His name was Grey Worm.
"He may talk if it pleases us," Rhaella announced. "Who are you to say otherwise? Who are you to even decide his fate? You are not from Westeros. You are a foreigner with no real authority. We do not take kindly to foreigners trying to tell us what we should do with our own people. Your queen is dead. You have no reason to even be here."
"We seek justice."
"You will have none here." She replied.
"And who are you to decide that?" Greyjoy spat.
"She is the rightful Queen of the seven kingdoms." Arya answered.
"Six." Sansa corrected, pulling attention toward her. "It has been agreed the North will remain an independent country."
"But if she's already Queen in the North-" Arya began, bewildered by Sansa's statement.
"You were away when Sansa and I agreed, she will take the North in my place and I will assume the position that many have wanted since I was born." She explained, turning to look at Tyrion. "Is that right, my Lord Tyrion."
Placed on the spot in such an uncomfortable situation, Tyrion hesitated. "She speaks the truth." He replied at last. "But you never wanted it. Why now?"
"I admit, Robert Baratheon was no great King. But his reign did not ensue so much hatred and violence. Joffrey was no better, but I did not have any desire to take the Seven Kingdoms then either. It was not until you brought her here that I knew the people of Westeros deserved better. We deserved peace. I admit, I had no plans of taking King's Landing as my home again either until I saw first hand the kind of ruler she would be." She turned to Yara and added, "I could see why you followed her. I could see why many chose to. She may have had potential, but she would have never allowed the North to remain it's own country. And then there was Jon. I knew it then. The way she'd look at him as if he was a threat to her rule."
"Clearly he was."
"You don't know him," she lifted her head. "He would have never been if she had not been mad with power. But it matters not anymore. Daenerys Targaryen is dead. Cersei Lannister is dead. Unless anyone else can decided who amongst them is more fit to rule the Six kingdoms than I, I will do it."
From her left, Sansa had prevented her uncle from standing up and stepping forward. The silence continued as everyone looked amongst them.
Tyrion Lannister took a step forward, Grey Worm glaring down at him. He proceeded on a step further and said, "Then it is settled. You all are in agreement that Rhaella is best to rule the six kingdoms?"
Yara Greyjoy sat forward, "If the North can become independent, so should the Iron Islands."
Rhaella turned toward her, "What says Dorne?" She asked, her eyes on Yara, but addressing the new prince. "Shall all the kingdom break away and fall into war again over who's land extends where? Aegon the conquer only conquered Westeros because he was asked to. Each kingdom fought viciously with one another for generations. The North willingly bent the knee. The Starks lost many thanks to both the Targaryens and the Lannisters. They deserve their peace." She then added, "If you believe you can live peacefully with one another, than I will only reign over King's Landing. I am no tyrant. I do not desire all the power for myself. I simply just want peace."
There was silence as the Greyjoy sat back in her seat, contemplating. Tyrion ceased the moment, glancing around, he said, "Alright then, which kingdom wishes to chose amongst them a new King or Queen?"
Sansa silenced her uncle once again before he could even voice his wish. "I don't think it would be wise, uncle." She said.
"Dorne accepts Queen Rhaella."
"I never expected to become a Lord," Gengry spoke up, leaning forward. "Can't say I know much about being King either. I accept Rhaella as my queen."
Slowly, but little by little other spoke up. Tyrion nodded his head and then turned to Yara. "So then it is settled, Rhaella is the Queen of Five kingdoms?"
Yara crossed her arms over her chest and looked over at Rhaella. "Will you promise that if the Iron born disagree with your rule, we may be free to become an independent country?"
"Did I once stop those who followed Jon from following Daenerys?" She asked. "No. So if you find any problem at all with my reign, I ask that you tell me and that if you wish to become your own kingdom again, you do so without any desire to fight for it. If any rebellions happen and you need assistance in establishing your rule, I will lend it. I have no desire to be cruel or turn my back on those who simply with to be left alone."
"Then, the Iron born accept Rhaella as their queen."
Rhaella bowed her head to Yara and smiled softly, "The Iron born have my gratitude and my love."
"Then we have all decided, "As of today, you will be known as Rhaella Tydore, Queen of the six kingdoms, protector of the realm-"
"On one condition." She interjected. "Tyrion Lannister, one can question your actions. One would even say they were punishable by death," he head inclined toward Grey Worm who was scowling. "However, one can not deny that there is one thing you do not lack, and that is knowledge."
"I have a feeling I know where you are going with this. And I feel that I must, for the sake of the realm, stop you."
"See here," she addressed the council. "See how he knows what I ask and refuses it. See that look of terror upon his face? What better punishment than that of his own life doing the one thing be despises most?"
"I failed before, I do not want to fail you."
"Then don't." She replied.

One more chapter to go. I was going to end it with this one but it started getting to long and the ending is ridiculously long.
I also recognise that this story is all over the place and I have grown careless with. It had so much great potential and perhaps I'll end up rewriting some day.
For now I want to try to finish other stories that need to be finished too.
I do have another GoT story in the works, but my primary focus will go next to my Peaky Blinders story, Time Warp. After that will come Courageous.. hopefully. There's so many storylines in that book. Not sure how George R.R. Martin does it, but now I know why the sixth book is taking so long.
And no I did not edit this before posting or even check for correct spelling. My goodness, I will regret that down the road 😭
* Just kidding, I'll end it at this horrible chapter. [October 18, 2019]
