Carrying the take out bags Minhyuk had wrapped for him, Tae shuffled inside, prepared to crack down and finish their piece before they lost steam. However a second, unexpected presence stopped him in his tracks.
An older woman with dark hair and round eyes regarded him with a knowing smile. What she knew, Taehyung wasn't sure, but he was nervous most definitely.
"Hello ma'am." He bowed.
"Its nice to meet you Taehyung." She held our her hand.
"Mrs. Jeon," Taehyung realized, clasping her hand gently. "I hope I'm not interrupting family time."
"Of course not, you're practically family already." She winked.
Blushing at the remark, he completed his intended path and set the dinner on the table. "Ggukkie?"
A soft touch on his waist assured him his boyfriend had his attention, so softly he whispered. "Do you want me to leave? I can do stuff at the dorm if you'd prefer the time alone."
"Absolutely not. You've already made my mom love you and I haven't hung out with you in a whole day." Jeongguk smiled in his ear, hugging him from behind. "Plus, you brought dinner so now Mom's not gonna yell at me for not cooking."
"You only want me for the free food." Tae realized, placing a hand over his chest and gasping in feigned hurt.
Gguk pressed a kiss to his cheek, giggling madly, "You've finally figured me out."
"Mrs. Jeon, are you hungry?" Tae called, choosing to ignore Gguk for a moment in a nervous attempt to make his mom like him.
"I'm always ready for food," she laughed, making her way to the cupboards to retrieve Jeongguk's tableware. Gguk abandoned their embrace to grab the plates away from her, insisting that she let them take care of it.
"Oh, now that your man is here you wanna act grown up."
"With all due respect, neither me or Gguk have earned that label."
Mrs. Jeon let out another laugh as she took a seat at the table. The boys took turns, setting a place and serving the japchae and soondae. Hopefully, Mrs. Jeon wouldn't mind if it was slightly spicy. It hadn't been too much for Tae himself, and he preferred less spicy things. Jin just liked it with the extra flavor so that's how the filling was prepared at the cafe. The pair finished and sat themselves next to each other, facing Mrs. Jeon.
The conversation was mostly directed towards Taehyung, interrupted frequently by Jeongguk's protests to spare his humiliation. Mrs. Jeon told colorful stories of Gguk from when he was small, detailing, to Jeongguk's horror, some of his most unflattering escapades.
"He even had it in his shoes!" Mrs. Jeon laughed, Jeongguk let his head drop dramatically onto the tables surface.
Taehyung was enjoying her company immensely, loving the stories that Gguk would never remember or think to share with him.
Gguk, on the other hand, was red to the tips of his ears. He wasn't sure if it was from anger or embarrassment. He noticed his mother keeping to the lighter side of his adventures, steering clear of his school career entirely. In fact, he hadn't put much thought towards that time for a long while. He'd been too caught up with Taehyung and with the hectic work and school that he'd been dealing with. But it was a good hectic. And Gguk had the sudden urge to cuddle Tae and shower him with kisses. With his mom here that would have to wait, so instead, he settled for putting his hands in his lap and reached over to rest one on Taehyung's thigh.
Tae slipped his hand beneath the table to intertwine their fingers. When would it be time to bring up the nasty memories? Would there ever be a good time? Right now Gguk felt like it might distance them. He didn't have a reason for this thought, but it entered his mind and planted itself right in the corner. Where he could see it.
His mom left for the evening after the three of them cleaned up from their meal. She hugged them both goodbye, whispering a soft thank you to Tae before releasing him.
As the door shut, Gguk was latching himself onto Taehyung and dragging himself to the living room.
"Let's watch Howl's Moving Castle!"
So he sat on the couch, holding Jeongguk in his arms, barely reading the subtitles in favor of pressing kisses to Ggukki's face and neck. Really, whatever was in reach. His nose, his ears, his jaw. He wasn't sure how much attention Gguk was paying either, his uneven breathing and slight squirming proved he wasn't unaffected by it all.
"Tae?" He whispered unevenly.
"Hmm," Tae replied, kissing at the dip of his jaw below his ear.
"As much as I love your kisses, this is really unsatisfying."
Chuckling into his ear, Tae murmured, "What would be satisfying."
Huffing impatiently, Jeongguk turned to face Tae. "Kiss me on the damn lips Kim Taehyung."
Opting for a silent response, he took action, pressing their lips together softly. Kooks, though, he wasn't having that after all of Tae's teasing. Whining under his breath, he put himself in Taehyung's lap and wrapped his arms around his neck. Taehyung licked at his lips and Jeongguk opened his mouth, allowing Taehyung to explore his mouth with his tongue. He was tempted to take control, but he didn't know what he was doing and whatever Tae was doing felt amazing. And Taehyung's hands on his side, rubbing circles into his hips with deft and careful fingers.
