Two days later they took their little boy home. Marshall stopped by his brother's house to pick up their older son. They loaded him into the car and drove the rest of the way home. Marshall carried the infant seat in while Maverick toddled in after him. Madelyn had their older boy by the hand. She smiled. Maverick had on his shirt that said I'm the big brother.
"Well, officially home," Marshall said.
"Good," she smiled.
They had already begun talking about where they were going on their annual family vacation. Myrtle Beach was currently at the top of the list. They were looking into a house directly on the beach. Marshall wanted something mellow since Malakai was going to be so little. Madelyn agreed as did the girls.
"Gonna post so the girls can?" he asked.
"Yeah, figured I would use a pic of Mave holding his baby brother." she said.
He nodded. She got the picture that she wanted and posted Malakai's arrival on Instagram. She messaged the girls to let them know she had announced it. She had just tagged Marshall in the post. He lay on the couch with Malakai on his chest. She smiled and snapped a picture. He smiled slightly. She was crazy about her family.
Paul called later that afternoon. She answered the phone because Marshall was asleep on the couch with both boys.
"What's up Paul?" she asked.
"I see you announced the new baby," he said.
"Yeah, I did. Is that a problem?"
"Nope just wanted you guys to know there are a few news outlets looking for an exclusive."
"I will have to discuss it with Marshall when he wakes up. Currently I am looking to break the internet with a post of my three boys sleeping."
"Smartass."
She chuckled. She posted the picture shortly after getting off the phone with Paul. She was busy with dinner when Marshall woke up. He came into the kitchen with Malakai in his arms.
"Mama, he is hungry," Marshall said.
"Ok babe," she replied.
She took the baby and went to feed him while Marshall kept an eye on dinner. She was sitting on the couch with Malakai in her arms and Maverick by her side. Marshall walked into the room and smiled. He pulled out his phone for a picture.
"Please tell me you are not going to post a picture of me breast feeding our son," she said.
"Nah babe, this one is just for me," he said.
"Better be."
He chuckled and left the room. She shook her head.
"I swear, Marshall Bruce, if that picture pops up online, I will kill you," she threatened.
"Cuz you are just so scary," he laughed.
He posted a different picture of her and the two boys to his Twitter page. She smiled when she saw it. He came into the room to let her know their dinner was done. She finished with Kai while he woke Maverick. The older boy whined and rubbed his eyes.
"They wear you out at Uncle Nate's?" he asked.
They sat down for dinner. She held Kai in one arm. He looked at her funny.
"Babe, I can bring the bouncer in here," he said, "or even the swing."
She shook her head. He sighed. Malakai was going to be in a bassinet in their bedroom for now. It was basically attached to Madelyn's side of the bed. It would make her life easier when feeding him in the middle of the night.
"All right Mav, let's get a bath and into some PJ's," Marshall told him after dinner.
He bathed his older boy and got him ready for bed. Madelyn settled into bed with Malakai. She read thru a lot of the congrats on the photo she had posted of the two boys. She rolled her eyes at the haters who claimed neither boy looked like Marshall. She didn't bother to respond to them. She had nothing to prove. Her boys were loved by their dad and their sisters. That was all that mattered to her. Marshall came into the room with a freshly bathed Maverick. She gave him lots of kisses before his daddy took him down to bed. Then Marshall joined her in their room. They spent some time shaking their head at the ignorance of some people. Hailie had attempted to jump on a few of them. Madelyn just commented to Hailie to ignore it. They were still a loving amazing family regardless of what people who weren't part of their every day lives thought.
