Denzel
"How bad is the she wolf, realistically what are her chances?" I voiced what we were all thinking to the head man here, I think his name was Jerry but I wasn't really paying much attention to him. "Slim to none if I'm being realistic. The poison is attacking her body so quickly and it's already affecting her brain, it would be a miracle if she pulled through right now. In all honesty if the drug we gave her to counteract dome of the symptoms doesn't seem to be working we won't be able to take her into surgery, she's just not stable enough." He muttered nervously, news he no doubt did not want to deliver to her protectors inside her room.
"Is there anything that might help her stabalize so you can work on her?" Kasen murmured lowly to Jerry's frown. "It all comes back to the poison really, if there was just some way to counteract it or clear it from her system quicker, but nothing we're doing is working to the extent we need it too." Jerry pales as the pups file out to join us in the hall, most of them still have tears in their eyes. Seeing them like that makes me want to run home to Mads and hold her close, if we were in their shoes right now I wouldn't be nearly as calm as they seemed.
"Wait what if there was a possible antidote to it, if they made it in that place and tested it out they had to have a reversal of some sort." Kasen turns to me and suddenly I understand what he means, the girls. "They insisted we take some stuff with us before we blew that place to h*** where it belonged, maybe those vials..." I trailed off as everyone perked up to our conversation. "What vials, who insisted, tell us!?" Beck grabs the color of my shirt and gives it a shake. I shove him off as gently as possible, he's lucky I know he's just desperately worried right now or that action would have got him killed.
"Sidney texted us two places when she made the plans, the pit building where you were and the location of the lab they had kept her for all those years. Kairo and Wes set up your building and the rest of us went to the lab location, it was a rescue mission so we needed Kasen with us. We killed the guards and the scientists and went down to where she told us the cages would be." Nate explains hurriedly.
"That was where we found four females caged, one just a pup no older than 10, the other three in their late teens and early twenties, one was in really bad shape. It took us a while to convince them we were there to help and then the one that seemed to be in charge insisted on grabbing some things from the lab on our way out. She gave one of the vials to her sick friend right away and grabbed a lot more while we set the place to blow, her friend died before we made it back, she was just too weak. The other three are staying in your she wolf's cabin she told us to leave the survivors there." I add just as rushed, there isn't time to waste right now.
"We have to go get the vials then!" Beck barked out in panic. "The females are still very nervous around strangers Kasen and I will go with one of you to get the vial we need, who is your fastest wolf, we'll get there and back quicker without the cars?" I asked the group, Beck was this first to step forward but he hesitated. "I really want to go with you but I'm not the fastest, Daniel is our best runner in human and wolf form he's got the stamina and speed to get Sid the stuff quickest." Beck gritted out painfully, he was pushing back his pride to do what was best for their she wolf, he was a lot braver than he knew.
"You think you can run it?" Nate voiced to the pup. "I have to, for Sid." Daniel nodded firmly, sending a glance back to her room, he didn't want to leave her. "We'll be back as quickly as we can, do what you can to keep her stable until then." I barked towards a nervous Jerry who nodded silently back as the three of us rushed outside to the forest, it was time to run.
Beckett
Watching them leave made it very difficult not to follow, I wanted to help Sidney but the best way I could do that right now was to stay here. If every second was counting to keep her alive right now it had to be Daniel to make the run, he was her best chance at pulling through this and we all knew it, no matter how much it hurt. We were allowed back in her room to wait as the Jerry guy did his personal best to bring her rising fever down and stabilize her breathing that was getting shallower and shallower.
I was straining to hear the sound of her heart beating until they hooked up the monitor so it was a lot clearer, her heart was racing as she tried to fight off the poison on her blood. It was silent and tense as we watched on helplessly, she was so weak and so pale that I wanted to give her all my strength to aid her healing, but I didn't know what to do. "She's fighting for all of you still, she hasn't given up yet, don't give up on her." Jerry insisted, my glare silenced him quick enough, we'd never give up on her, we'd never be able to forget our Sid. Every minute felt like hours had gone by as we waited for the very thing that would hopefully save the life of the girl we loved, we'd just found out how much she loved us all back, it couldn't end like this.
I was watching her heart monitor so closely that I noticed the change before anyone else did, I was alerting the others in an instant as Jerry rushed back to her side. The racing heart had started to slow to a more normal rhythm, but instead of steadying out it slowed down even more so worryingly slow, Simon looked like he wanted to puke. "What, what is it?" I voiced in worry. "She's losing her fight, her body can't take much more of this, she's fighting so hard but she's just so weak..." Simon trailed off, so weak that she doesn't have long left, where was Daniel and that d*** antidote.
Daniel
The moment we were out of sight from the med building we stripped and shifted before breaking to a full on sprint back towards home, adjusting the course ever so slightly to meet at Sidney's cabin. I had kept pace with the other two so as not to risk the females disappearing with the only possible antidote to the poison killing Sid. They were the first to shift back and call to the front door as I shifted back with a pant. The scent of unfamiliar she wolves drowned out the scent of Sidney, I hated it but kept quiet as a red haired green eyed girl about my age stepped out onto the porch. "What do you want, and who is he?" She focused her gaze on me but posed her question to Denzel the highest ranked wolf here.
"This is Daniel he's one of the resident males here, we need your help with something Rose." Denzel murmurs slowly. "So you rescue us and now you sick b****ards want payment now is that it!?" She snarled out. "No we really do need help our friend is dying in the hospital from poison and we think you might be able to help us!" I begged desperately to her frown. "Sorry you're out of luck boys, no can do, the vials belong to us, not you!" She stated defiantly, I'd never wanted to kill anyone more than I did right now.
"She is the reason they got your b****y a** out of that place of horrors and you won't even spare us a vial, give us the d*** antidote or we will take it." I snapped on a snarl as suddenly a younger blond girl ran out to meet me and shoved a small riplock bag into my hands, her blue eyes filled with sadness. "These two vials should help your friend, if she's strong enough, it was too late for Nicole, but maybe it's not to late for your friend." She murmured softly. "Sarah!" The red head objected loudly. "No Rose, if she saved us from that place then it's only right we repay that debt." The blond said firmly to her friend.
"Thank you." I nodded to the Sarah girl before shifting and carefully taking the bag into my teeth, I didn't look back as I raced back towards Sid, hoping with all hope that I would be fast enough. I ran as quick as I could to the spot I'd stashed my clothes as I shrugged them back on and hurried inside with the baggie of vials secure in my grasp. I could sense the desperate worry in the room where Sidney's heart was so slow that I worried I might be too late. "I got the vials, how long has she been..." I trail off silently as I gesture to the monitor, handing the vials to the doctor as he went to give them to Sid. "Five minutes, it leveled out to that slow beat and hasn't changed since, she's really weak but hopefully she's got enough fight left to stabilize enough for them to get her into surgery." Beck grunted out.
The next few minutes felt like an eternity as we waited for the antidote to work, Denzel and Kasen finally caught back up when Jerry was checking her over again. "Well her breathing is a lot better but her fever is still running high trying to fight off the effects, and I'm worried what damage has already been done, but other than that the vials seem to be working. She's still very weak but her heart rate is picking up again, if we're going to operate and treat the bleed on her brain we need to get moving before she crashes again." Jerry spoke urgently and we were quick to agree as they carted her off.
"You did good pup." Alpha Alvalrado praised me softly, I accepted it with a nod. When we were anxiously waiting for hours in the waiting room while they worked to patch Sid up there was no news and it started to drive us all a little crazy. Every little sound had us jumping alertly, watching for Jerry to return with news, even as the early dawn hours rolled around we still had no clue if Sid had pulled through or not. The not knowing was making me and many of the others sick with worry, no one dared to sleep for fear of missing something important, waiting sucked.

Seven hours. It had been seven long hours with no news and I had joined Beck in his pacing. We were all exhausted, no one had eaten or slept in almost 24 hours, but none of that mattered as long as our girl was safe. The thought that the first time she'd kissed me could very well be the only and last time was weighing heavily on my thoughts when Jerry the head surgeon finally showed himself and we crowded him like a rabid mob for news. "She's alive!" He had to shout over all of us to het the message across and relief flooded through the link in an instant but I could see something else he wasn't telling us in his eyes. So I quieted everyone down as he led us to a more private area to talk, no one made a sound as he sat us all down with a frown.
"Your friend is alive but just barely, we nearly lost her once but we were able to bring her back, the bleed was more severe than we originally thought." Jerry explained warily. "How severe?" Kasen quizzed curtly. "Severe enough that there was more swelling than we accounted for, more damage done but if her healing is as strong as you say it should be okay with time. I even used the dissolvable stints to resecure everything back in place instead of the usual metal, because of such healing abilities, that's what took longer as well. She is still heavily drugged but she did come around briefly when we were taking her back to her room, we had to drug her again because she didn't know who we were or where she was and she started to fight us." Jerry frowns on a heavy sigh.
"Fighting is good though, right?" Beck whispers softly. "It means she's still got fight left in her but that's not my point. The point is with the damage and swelling we found from the bleed it's not uncommon for there to be some memory loss associated with the trauma, how extensive it will be depends on what she remembers when she wakes up." He continued. "You mean she might forget us?" Gavin gasped out with a horrified shake of his head. "That's unlikely but not impossible, what I'd guess is she'll be suffering more short term memory loss, perhaps the last day or two. It really depends on how fast she heals and how much damage the poison did before we stopped it." He states clearly, my stomach just keeps sinking at that realization.
"So she might not remember how she got here?" I voice to his nod, she might forget our kiss, or the confession her wolf had helped her give us all. "How long does the memory loss last?" Colton was the calm beta giving us all strength now. "It really depends on her, it could be days, weeks or even years before she regains all those memories if she's able to regain them at all." He murmured and I silently pulled myself together.
"As long as she's okay that's all that matters, we can make more memories even if she can't remember. When can we see her?" I needed to see tgat she was alive and breathing for myself before I really did lose my mind. I prepared myself for the worst as we followed him back to her recovery room. I told myself if she forgot our kiss it would be worth giving up that memory as long as she pulled through, even if it killed a part of me inside.
Sidney
The scent of sterilizing solutions was the first thing to penetrate the darkness and draw me back to opening my eyes to the dimly lit room and all the faces staring back at me. "Sidney, you're awake!" Fletcher's shout made me wince at the volume. The pounding in my head only increased as I gazed around the room slowly, the sights and smells iritated me and my wolf. This wasn't home and I didn't like it, and why did my head hurt so much, I felt like I'd been run over by a freight train. "Too loud Puppet." I groaned out and their worried faces got a little bit brighter. "You remember who we all are?" Kasen spoke next his tone softer which I was glad for, I wonder when they got here.
"Well duh, of course I know you guys, what kind of stupid question is that." It hurt when my brows furrowed but they seemed happy with my words. "Also can someone please explain to me where the h*** we are, this place reeks." I curled my lip and their faces fell slightly. "You're in the hospital Sidney, we brought you here because there's a head man who knows about shifters. You were hurt pretty bad and we couldn't treat you on our own so we brought you here. Do you remember how you got here?" Simon asked eagerly as he came forward to place his warm hand on my own.
I tried so hard to think of how I'd gotten here but when I searched for the answer all I got was nothing, a empty blurry nothing. "I... no... what happened?" I feel panic setting in as they step forward to try calming me back down. "Sid, you're safe now everything is gonna be okay. You had a bleed on your brain and they had to do surgery, a side effect to the bleed and swelling is memory loss, what is the last thing you can remember?" Colton voices softly as he squeezes my hand in gentle support. I force myself to search my pounding mind as I try to find the answers to his question then I get a blurry image that gets a little clearer the further I think on it, but it's still hazy.
"I was in the Pit and Ian stepped forward to challenge me, there may have been an saw or hammer, I can't remember." I try to clear the fuzzy bits but tgey seem determined to vlock me out right now, and then I remember why I was in the fights in the first place. "I went there to save you, did the plan work!?" I struggled to sit up as I focused on Alvalrado but Colton and Simon keep me from sitting up. "Easy now, don't strain yourself little wolf you just had brain surgery you know." Denzel scolds softly. "Well that explains my pounding headache, now answer my question please." I added the please for their benefit, I wanted to show a little respect.
"It's all taken care of and worked just like you planned, we know someone who can get us the dental records on the bodies to make sure we got them all, but those buildings were blown to bits." Alvalrado smiles to me and I smile back the best that I can. "That's good." I sigh out as my eyes start to feel heavy again but I force tgem to stay open. "And can you all do me a favor and get yourselves some food and rest, you all look like s***." I yawned to their chuckles.
"Try looking in a mirror Gorgeous." Micah scoffed. "Hey I might feel it but I'd bet I'm a lot better on the yes than any of you are right now." I huffed back. "I guess we can't really deny that one, it's good to have you back Sid." Emmett chuckled out roughly as my eyelids drooped on another yawn. "Get some rest she wolf, we'll all be here when you wake up." Asher whispered and I didn't need anymore coaxing as the darkness pulled me back into it's sweet escape from the pounding in my head.
*Well I guess this is the route I'm going with this, Sid has lost some memory, how will the boys take it I wonder.*
